Just tried Eds Bistro a week ago. What a beautiful place! Its not a huge place, but thats what I like about it. It is a cozy, well-appointed restaurant with an incredibly well stocked bar. While I feel that the entrees are a little on the pricey side, the food is delicious and inventive. They have a nice outdoor covered patio that I want to try when the weather is a bit cooler. Great for a casual dinner or a date night. Service was excellent.

The service at Eds Bistro is impeccable. The staff is attentive and knowledgeable, always ready to offer recommendations and ensure that your dining experience is nothing short of excellent. Our server, Dorthy, was outstanding, making sure our glasses were never empty and that we had everything we needed. The ambiance is warm and inviting, perfect for a romantic dinner or a casual meal with friends. Ronnie played soft background music, giving us a relaxed vibe, making it easy to unwind and enjoy your meal. Eds Bistro is a gem in La Porte. Whether you re a fan of French cuisine or just looking for a great place to dine, this bistro is sure to impress. The combination of delicious food, excellent service, and charming ambiance makes it a must-visit. I can t wait to return and try more of their delectable offerings.

From the moment we walked in, we were treated to an exceptional experience. The ambiance is cozy yet sophisticated, with a warm, inviting atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The staff were attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the food they serve, which added a special touch to the evening. The menu is a masterpiece, offering a variety of dishes that cater to all tastes. Each plate was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. I highly recommend the chicken sandwiches it was cooked to perfection and the flavors were impeccably balanced. The dessert was the perfect ending to the meal, leaving us with a sweet memory of the evening. What truly stood out was the attention to detail from the perfect pacing of the courses to the personalized recommendations from our server. INCREDIBLE!!!!!! My family and I were just talking about how all restaurants seem to be the same. Mediocre food, terrible customer service and the atmosphere is just so LOUD. NOT Eds Bistro. We all ordered different items off the menu and we were all WOWED! Enjoyed every bite not to mentioned immediately being acknowledged when we walked in and she was very attentive. So much so that when my husband asked about a certain item that he read off of their online menu and they changed it up on their actual menu she brought it to the Chefs attention and he came out to talk to us about making it just the way we read it online. A MUST visit!

I m in love, love, love with their food!! Not a restaurant you would expect to find in La Porte, but if you live here or find yourself stopping by, then do not miss out on this amazing restaurant. First impressions first. I was greeted warmly by the staff, and even both the owners, Ed and Jody, stopped by my table to welcome me! The place is decorated so nicely and it is spotlessly clean. Next to the food which meal should I tell you about!!! I ate there five times while in town to visit a friend. I hit up their breakfast twice, one the breakfast burrito and once the biscuits and gravy. Both were deeelicious. And super inexpensive for how filling they were! The other three meals were dinners, I tried The Wedge salad, the Bistro Burger and the crab cakes. All were to die for. I loved the Wedge so much I had it twice. All of the food was fresh, complex and so flavorful I wanted more. Every time I left I was so full. The portion sizes are so generous and the prices are so fair, you can t go wrong. If this restaurant was in Houston, it would cost you a lot more! The bar serves up delicious drinks and the wine list is so extensive, it could take you all night to go through it. But Ed s extensive wine knowledge will help guide you to the perfect choice. So, very long story short don t miss out on the full dining experience at Ed s Bistro. I know when I m back in town, I ll be back for more of their exceptional food. Thanks Ed and Jody, see y all next time!!

Brunch, in my opinion, is an extended breakfast experience that should be savored when one has ample time to engage in the preparation and enjoyment of the meal. -Yotam Ottolenghi With regards to referrals, I firmly believe that first impressions leave a lasting impact, and in this case, it was exceptionally positive. The staff demonstrated genuine authenticity in their demeanor, professionalism, and customer service, consistently going above and beyond to ensure that patrons feel welcomed and well-catered to. The restaurants ambiance features a subtly elegant decor with a touch of traditional cafe charm. The layout is reminiscent of a fine dining establishment, exuding a cozy yet sophisticated atmosphere that befits its reputation as a renowned local establishment. For the first time, I was thoroughly impressed by the extensive menu options, as well as the superior quality, presentation, and taste of the food. I highly recommend Eds stuffed French toast. I felt compelled to personally express my appreciation to Ed, the owner, and convey that it was the finest French toast I have ever had. His culinary expertise is truly remarkable, as he masterfully creates exceptional confections that are nothing short of legendary. In conclusion, Eds Bistro stands as a testament to culinary excellence, reminiscent of a Renaissance-era masterpiece. It is an establishment that undoubtedly deserves the highest accolades. Salute!

Everything was great and the owners were amazing. I did have an issue with the server though. She was nice but she charged me $12 for my mimosa charging it as a Bloody Mary when it was suppose to be $7 and when I brought it to her attention she told me the Bloody Mary and mimosa were the same price. I didn t feel like arguing with her so I just paid the extra $5. Other than that everything was great.

We just had an amazing 1st time experience at Ed s Bistro. Let me say, this is what this area is missing! We came in for a 1:1 experience and truly enjoyed every minute of it. The food captured complex flavors along an elegant wine tasting. Ed took time to get to know us and truly make the experience personalized. Since moving to Seabrook, I have missed the Houston dining scene so I am so excited to be able to enjoy Ed s without going into Houston. Every dish was flavorful and delicious . Thank you Ed (owner) and Tony (chef) for making our date night special.

We planned to go to the food truck park but they closed or something on a beautiful Saturday afternoon! So we walked down main and stumbled on Eds. We had their very expensive brunch.. (expensive for us anyway) The stuffed French toast wasnt actually stuffed. Its just one piece of toast folded on top of another with a cream in between. More like a sandwich. For 20 bucks I expected more than 2 slices of French toast.. you can choose to get a tiny side of either fruit, grits or potatoes. I got the fruit, it was mostly watermelon. But eggs or some form of protein would have made the meal worth the money. I was very pleased that they used real maple syrup! And the taste of the French toast was very good, and the presentation was great! The biscuits and gravy were tiny. You get 2. But I was told the gravy was the best they ever tasted. Still not worth $16 given it also didnt come with any protein. They got potatoes as their side. The potatoes were dry and needed to be covered in gravy to make them taste good. Now we did see some burgers come out that looked amazing! But I dont think we will be back simply based on price. But you should try it. Its great to support local and small when possible.

If you are of the eat, drink, and be merry tribe, youre going to feel right at home when enjoying Ed and Jodys new place, Eds Bistro! The food is smack, yo mamma, good. The service is something special, you have to experience it for yourself. My words will not be sufficient. I promise you that you must take the time to mossy up to the bar. Entertained, educated, and experienced all happen there simultaneously. Yeah, really, it does. I know how that sounds, but thats why I said you have to make the moves, take that action to find out and be in the know. And if you are a wine aficionados, you can thank me for introducing you to your new best friend, Ed. Who will be your oldest best friend in time. Yall will enjoy endless conversation on your favorite subject, hobby, passion; the grape and its many wonderful delights. You know wine, I dont doubt it. But do you know wine like Ed knows wine? Scratch that. Do you love wine like Ed loves wine? Of course you do, go and hurry. Your best mate is waiting to share his latest discovery from the amazing grape vine with you. From seed to press, then bottled and aged, uncorked with showmanship, decanter for breathing out and you in, the aromas, that first taste and the top up of your glass, fellowship and the clanking of cheers.. the grape is celebrated here!

When you re paying that much for food it s disappointing when it s not very good. I suggest just coming for dessert and drinks.

We went early evening and was seated immediately after being notified of all of the reserved tables. Service was one person or another. Wonderfully decorated building inside with good music. The chefs also play music you can hear. Owners were there and hopping table to table with small talk. I got the chicken which was juicy and tender and very salty, it came with asparagus and bland risotto that HAD to be mixed with sauce. My husband got the burger and he said it was good but nothing special and fries were not good at all. Nice place to have a drink and catch up with friends. Will revisit again to give this place another chance.

YOU HAVE TO EAT HERE. Eds Bistro is by far the best brunch spot Ive been to. Everything about this place is absolutely amazing. Ive been to Eds twice. The first time, I was blown away by the level of service, friendliness, food quality, atmosphere, etc. I thought maybe it would be a one-off experience. I was wrong! I came back a month later and found that my experience only improved the second time around. I highly recommend the black Angus steak Benedict. Each bite is a taste of heaven! The potatoes are indescribably delicious. They are so savory and are nicely browned on the outside while maintaining a soft/moist inside. The shrimp grits with ham are also very very delicious. If you go for brunch, endless mimosas/Bellinis are a must. The desserts are good and are paired with carefully selected dessert wines. The food aside, Eds has GREAT atmosphere that makes the place feel clean and welcoming. The restaurant is a small local restaurant. They have a nice dog-friendly outdoor patio that is being improved little by little as the weather cools down. The service is unmatched. Im very excited to continue going to Eds to try new dishes and see how their food and upscale atmosphere evolves as they continue to grow. Simply put: this place is a must-try. Parking: Parking is available behind the building and in the west side of the building in the empty lot.

We were so pleased with our dinner tonight. Im rarely impressed with meals, so much that my wife would say never. Well, Im happy to say this night stood out. We were conflicted about where to eat and my wife had mentioned that she wanted to try the new bistro on Main. I reluctantly agreed...but was so thankful that I did. We tried and split a few different dishes, Oysters Rockefeller, Caesar salad, and the halibut featured entree. Ed graciously walked me through some different wine pairings and I was definitely happy with our choices. Even my wife was impressed with her virgin mojito. But we saved the best for last apparently. We were both still debating ordering another small plate to finish us off and through some recommendations from Ed, we landed on the Fritto Misto. This is one of the best dishes Ive ever had. Lightly battered shrimp, calamari, lobster, and artichoke hearts with a black garlic aioli, and a pineapple reduction. If you like seafood, you MUST order this dish. I never order lobster because its expensive and usually overcooked. This time it was perfect. So much flavor, our table was silent we were so focused. What a great note to end on. Thank you to Ed for entertaining my wife and I for what turned out to be a wonderful Friday night date and we appreciate the hospitality even after we realized we ordered the last dish well after your closing time. Looking forward to the wine dinners with multi-course meals!

It s 87 degrees & I m on somebody s patio enjoying this nice weather & me time Eds Bistro La Porte is a hidden gem, my little city was missing. Ed is a sweetheart and the customer service is amazing. I felt welcomed as soon as, I walked in and Ed is very knowledgeable about wine & food! The food is seasoned perfectly and the wine list is impressive and massive. I had the grilled asparagus, duck fat fingerlings potatoes, Wagyu Cheese Skirt Burger and he made me a wine flight (day drinking on a Tuesday ) I ll definitely be back for Brunch on Sunday from 10-3pm! Went on a Saturday evening and it was busy, sat down quickly. Food was good and cute atmosphere, small and quaint but very loud almost to the point you cant hear each other talking at your own table. Will go again and try brunch.

Got to try Ed s Saturday night with friends. We ordered the ribeye, chicken, and cacio e pepe. All were very good. Very extensive wine choices as well. Unimpressed with the ceviche, but the Thai shrimp were very good. It was a pleasure to meet the owner. He seemed genuinely interested in trying to please his customers. Server Sarah was very good and friendly as well. Our favorite place in La Porte closed over 6 years ago and we ve been hoping for a replacement ever since. I think we have found it. Good luck Ed and we ll be back soon.

First time here for lunch and thought it was super cute and so close! I wasn t that hungry so I didn t try anything besides the charcuterie board. I did try a couple drinks though. Peach Bellini and lemon drop. Both were delicious and fit the vibe perfectly. Very polite staff and attentive. We will be back for sure.
