Good Donuts but their dining room is always closed due to cleaning at peak hours too. Such an inconvenience, why not clean before the store opens, early in the morning or at closing???

Donuts are good but the kolaches are a joke. If you like bread then it s ok but don t call them kolaches! There s no meat in them! Food

The kolaches at this location are not up to Shipleys standards. They are over cooked, either the temp is too high in the oven or they leave them in too long. The bread is hard and burnt. This isnt a one time thing. I recently moved to the area, and due to my love of Shipleys have given this location 4 tries, on only one occasion were the kolaches made correctly. This location should visit the Brodie lane location for tips on making kolaches. To be fair, their donuts are the best anywhere.

Im so happy to have them locally and to have great donuts but the people working are subpar! Every time I come here, its always something. They cant hear your order, so they get upset cause its so loud by the road or closing at the wrong time or not opening on time..... Ill have to go somewhere else.

Don t get me wrong, the service is great. The problem is that I go there at 5am, 5:10am, 5:15am and either the lights are off and the door is locked or they have only a few donuts available. Today, I stopped in to get a dozen for my work colleagues, and the lights were off. It was 5:10am. I can t wait around all morning because I work in Austin. I will just have to find another Shipleys going forward. I think there is one on William Cannon. This is sad because I like to support local.

Decent place when people are there. Several times I get there after work in the morning. 5:15 ish since I get off at 5 and either nobody is there or I can see them talking through the window ignoring the drive through. Ill just go to Kyle donuts around the corner. They may not have a drive through but at least they are reliable

Inconsistent at best. Claims that donuts are made fresh but most of the time they are hard and feel refrigerated. Not all staff is friendly. Once I ordered strawberry filled donuts when I got to my office it was discovered they gave me strawberry/pink glazed instead. How do you mess up donuts?

I am a big Shipleys fan! That being said by 9 am in the morning the donuts that we got tasted stale and the kolaches were over cooked. When I went in the store the person that was getting my order was rude and bit unpleasant to talk to. I asked if the they had chocolate glazed donut holes. The response was, we do not make those here. I then asked if they had any hot glazed donuts and then she said that they were done making donuts and that they cleaned everything already. I am kind of surprised by that because of Shipleys is suppose to be open till 5pm! How old are the donuts stay good for? I would say that the donuts I ordered seemed as though they been out for a while and tasted stale. The kolaches were dark brown showing that they were over baked. This location was such a disappointment! I hope that they could bring up their standards to the ones that are in Houston.

Not bad. Stays open later than 1pm unlike most every other Kyle donut shop. Sometimes you can catch in between bakes & selection is not great. But most of the time pleased with what we are able get.

I drove 9 miles or 15 minutes out of my way to go to shipleys donuts in Kyle Texas. I bought 2 glazed 2 chocolate covered donuts. I could smell the old or burnt oil when I got handed the bag. I bit into the chocolate covered one first it was nasty. I should have listened to my nose. I finished it and ate a glazed and threw the other 2 away. Obviously they need to change there oil more frequently.

First of all, I have been eating Shipley Donuts at many Houston locations for decades. OMG, and when they are hot, they are wonderful. My favorite is the Apple Fritter. In fact, I judge other donut shops based on Shipley s. This particular Kyle store makes them different from the Houston 34th St & N.Main locations that I used to frequent. I bought two here, one each for my wife and I, but I couldn t finish mine. The outside taste and texture was the same goodness, but there was SO MUCH dough inside that they were just different. They were large, but MUCH thicker and puffier, again with just too much inside dough. I ll skip this location from now on since they are not consistent with the brand. Oh well. On the positive side, the employees were friendly. Also, one review mentioned that the kolaches are served cold. They now are kept in a warmer!

So, you pay $6 and change for six donuts, which are ok at 10:30 in the morning... I mean not as fresh as the donuts were setting in open air... but then you ask for a cup of water and the guy says $1.09 cents... what the hell! Does the 6 bucks mean nothing! I didnt want a bottle of water... just a cup of ice water! Hey, Shipley Donuts aint all that folks. The famous chocolate glazed donuts are a watered down version of what I remember as a kid growing. Dude really, a $1.09 for a cup of water... so what your business is not doin so good so you tryin to get any pennies you can! Few folks, I would maybe try the other donut place a few yards to the east in the future, the place next to Pizza Hut!

Shipleys when you were over off 150, your doughnut case was full and we always enjoyed popping in. I knew that they were going to move locations once they started building the strip center off the Kyle Parkway. My kid and I decided to pop in to grab doughnuts. Apparently if you come in after 830 am, you are lucky to get anything you are looking for. Gone are the days where the doughnut case was full. The had 2 kinds of cake doughnuts. The young lady behind the counter said, That is all we have. If you looked around, the case looked like it had been picked over by folks prepping for the zombie apocalypse. You would have not thought the place would have been that picked over at 830 am in the morning. I did get my cinnamon roll. As I bit into it, it did not have the same taste as I remembered from when this place was off Center street, or when I had gone to other Shipleys. I had expected it to be a little fresher tasting with a nice chew to it. To me, it tasted like it had been sitting out for longer than a day and I know they make their doughnuts fresh daily. The location is slightly awkward when you turn in. That is because of the design of the Kyle Parkway. If you are not sure where you going, you will miss the turn and have to go the back way in. I am sure this place is still working out the kinks. I will probably go back in a few weeks to see if the quality and service has changed at all.

Cashier that took our order looked high as a kite and looked really lost and confused. He made it really difficult to order. I ended up getting much less than I wanted to because it was just really frustrating trying to order. We were the only ones in there so its not like it was busy and he was panicking. Im hoping it was just a fluke since it has only just opened in there.
