They dont have the right address so you can find the place. If you orde from uber or dash they will confirm the order but you dont have the address so when you finally find the food truck the food is completely cold and soggy...and no one has the hospitality to fix it as they should I would give them a negative 5 stars if it was possible!

Its definitely a HARD pass. Why did they disrespect Alabama cooking like this? Hopefully I can upload pictures. We ordered a fish platter and just know, 1 piece of fish is HALF of a filet. It was over fried and rock hard, we ended up throwing away about an inch off of each side of our halved filets! Terrible. Those arent candied yams... just NO! Under cooked and the seasoning was off. Tasted like boiled sweet potatoes with lots of honey. We also ordered a chicken and rice. The chicken was tasty but, YOU, Sir/Maam reading this review, go to HEB or your local grocery store and buy a roasting chicken. 2. Clean it and put some season all, and put it in a baking pan and cover it with some Cream of Chicken and bake it... same thing here, save your money. The greens were acceptable. Macaroni and cheese is very unseasonably bland. Our food looked NOTHING like the photos posted online. THEN to sum all of this up, the customer service had the nerve to be bad too. My Husband, being from Alabama, found this place and was excited to support the business. I regretted that I was too tired to cook for my family on this day because, the way this woman spoke to my husband over the phone made me want to hop in my car and come up there to find her myself. Save yourself the disappointment, disrespect and your hard earned money.

The food was absolutely horrible! I decided to try the meatloaf and honestly I m not sure what kind of meat it was. In no way did it appear to be ground beef. I asked for gravy on my rice (for both plates I ordered) and when I got home to eat neither plate had gravy. The mac and cheese had no flavor. I would not recommend eating here.

These comments made me very leery, but I am so glad I tried this place. Being from Southeast Alabama, I was looking for some good Southern food! I had the smothered pork chops, Mac and cheese, and cabbage. Absolutely no complaints there, but it was a little pricey. My son had some sweet potato pie. He said it was good, but soggy towards the end. The banana pudding was good. Now, there were a lot of complaints about the lady being rude. I did not experience that at all. In fact, she was very friendly over the phone, and engaged in conversation with me once I got there to pick it up. I think I called 2-3 times. Never rude!! I wanted meatloaf. She said they served that on Sunday, so we are on our way there now to try the meatloaf!!! I came back to change my 4 stars to 2. The meatloaf was horrible!!!! It didn t look like ground beef and definitely didn t taste like it, and it was really mushy. $35 for 2 nasty meatloaf plates . Rip-off!!!!

Checked out another soul food restaurant today that was pretty good. Its called sweet home Alabama. Now being from Georgia myself it took a minute for me to give them a try. Its a roll tide against bulldog rivalry thing. But the owner is not a roll tide fan but a auburn tiger fan enough said I tried the smothered porkchop with rice ,fried okra and Mac and cheese everything except the Mac and cheese was slamming. It seemed like the Mac and cheese was baked with flour, wasnt that tasty to me but it wasnt too bad someone elses taste buds may feel different. hence the 4.5 stars instead of 5. I highly recommend you try them out you will be pleased. Keep in mind though some of the items on thier menu are only served on certain days. In the end though it was good service and good food. Give them a try.

Ashley went above and beyond accomadating me & I seriously dont know the last time I got delicious food and awesome customer service around here. Usually its one or the other.. One of my co workers had the pork chops, rice and pinto beans and the last coworker had fried fish and fries. Well we have NOTHING negative to say about it! Everything was DELICIOUS, flavorful and HOT!!!! If you are ever in the Killeen area, try them out! You will not be disappointed!

Tried to order over the phone, but unless you pay over the phone, it aint happening. I was driving and couldnt pay over the phone so I stopped by for take out since I was so close. Another customer recommended the smothered pork chop, so thats what I got with two sides of collard greens and potato salad. Also comes with corn bread- which was good, hot and soft. Greens are good and potato salad was awesome. More of a mashed consistency and very vinegary or something tart, like a mustard. Very good and flavorful. Pork chop itself was delicious. Tasted as if seared first, then slow cooked. Very good, I highly recommend. Tender, but not too tender. Just right with great taste/flavor. The sauce/gravy was ok. Rice tasted like Uncle Bens... Ive been eating rice my whole life as a Latina lol I love rice. This wasnt cutting it, esp with the bland gravy. I wouldve given 4 stars but the lay out once you get there is confusing. No masks or enforcement. Just myself and another gentleman were wearing one. The floors were also super sticky. Thats a problem for me. New sandals kept getting stuck to the floors. Floors need a good mopping. Really good...Hence, the 3 stars. Hostess/owner? Seemed nice. Only certain foods on certain days. Definitely understand with the different meats that they make. It will be made to order, so bring your phone or something to occupy yourself. Waiting on average from order placed about 20-25 min. But itll be piping hot and fresh. So really, you cant complain. I would order again but something different. Perhaps the catfish. It smelled really good. Fridays are mainly fried meats- turkey, chicken, catfish... Except smothered pork chops.

Definitely not worth the wait or money. I was supposed to get two pieces of fish and only got 1 full piece and like a very small piece as the second that barely had any meat all breading. No cornbread or silverware. Nothing was said over the phone about any shortage. And when I tried to call a person picked up and hung up the first time and I was finally able to get someone when I called again the second time. I was told they cant control the size of the fish. Very poor service and food. We will not be eating here again

I dont do Google reviews but I was so upset at the service I received. I was ahead of several people in placing an order. I placed an order and was told it would be 20 to 25 minutes until I received it. After 30 40 minutes people who were behind me started receiving there order and I hadnt received mine. 1 hour I was told my chicken was just being dropped. I was patient with one person in the restaurant serving everyone but I was skipped over and I was before other people.

I heard from a few people that this place was really good especially with soul food. I want to start off by saying when I walked into this establishment I wasn t greeted, I very confused on where menus were; and where to place my order. There was a sign in one area to place an order and register in another. This plate was $15 and honestly not even worth it. I wasn t feeling pleased with the presentation, serving size and most importantly the flavor. This big ole pork chop had no flavor at all. I also wasn t too happy learning collard greens were only sold on certain days, so I opted for Mac n cheese and potato salad. The Mac n cheese I suspected it to taste like any other place and it did just mediocre ; my potato salad had more flavor than anything else on this plate. Very disappointed for the price that I paid and the plate received. I won t be a returning customer.

Bottom line up front: Call ahead order during lunch. My wife and I went here for lunch. The staff are friendly and the environment is welcoming. Unfortunately the food preparation was very very slow and we didn t get to eat the food we ordered until late afternoon. The stated expected wait time is 15-20 minutes. The actual wait time was just short of 40 minutes. I know they were closed for COVID and that might be affecting how they choose manage their business. We will try again in a couple of weeks. In closing, the food and service was good and the place was clean. We will make another attempt later and call ahead our order.

The food was spot on. It is NOT fast food so pull up a chair and stay awhile. We have only been on a Friday and Saturday so we havent tried their full menu but Im confident we wont be disappointed. I have a picky 16 year old that loved it and my 6 year old normally will only eat mac and cheese but will eat here like hes at grandmas. Food was mediocre; waited 15 minutes during the lunch hours and spent nearly $20 for 3 chicken wings, Mac & Cheese, and collards. I will give some points for the LARGE chicken wings but, there was no variety in chicken pieces, fried chicken was lack-luster nothing to rave about, and WAY OVER PRICED. Save your money buy a bucket of chicken from your favorite franchise buy some cheap Mac & cheese at Walmart and boil some collards and call it a day.

28DEC19: Closed AGAIN!!! 3weeks later...4 occassions they have been closed... The food is amazing! I ordered the smothered porkchop, cornbread dressing and sweet potatoe pie! Came with mac-n-cheese! Omg! Everything was so delicious! I ordered it online via WATR! I have no complaints! Im sad they are closed today bc I want some more! There is no restaurant in comparison to Sweet Home Alabama! Id give 10 stars if I could!!!

The visit was a last minute option because my first option had closed. I set my GPS and headed out for the unknown. I had difficulty with locating the business even with this technology, but eventually I arrived to see if my efforts was worthy of the product. I ordered all wings, one fried and one honey barbeque. After a 45 minute wait, I headed home with my accomplishment. Got home and served up the wings to my guest and not one liked either choice. The fried wings was very salty, which caused anyother seasonings to be cancelled out. The BBQ wings was very wet and also salty. I will not be going back to this establishment or Alabama for sure.

Over priced not great. Over $15.00 for 3 chicken wings with pinto beans unseasoned and Mac and cheese. Not Sweet Georgia Brown in the Dallas area. They are worth the price. Better off eating at home.

I don t ever write reviews but I feel this one is necessary. The food is good but the prices are ridiculous. I just spent $16.23 on a 3 piece wing and two sides. A side of cornbread dressing is $4.69. I m NEVER going back.

I have been here once before and the food was ok and their was an older lady there who had great customer service. However, this time I took my mother with me who was here visiting and a young lady was working tonight. Her attitude was terrible and very disrespectful. My mother was asking her basic questions about what was included and she was very short and rude about her answers. My mother was getting ready to pay and I had just had enough of her bad attitude, and told my mom we wouldn t be doing business with them. I understand people have bad days but this was beyond this. Please take my advice and correct your employees attitude or maybe fire her.

Disclaimer: I am new to the area, and I am not a soul/southern/comfort food connoisseur. I visited on a Friday afternoon around 4pm for context. Clean, Alabama written everywhere comfortable environment and atmosphere. Greeted upon entry and my order was taken. My family and I had 2 kids meals(large portion for kids meal which is nice, fried chicken wings, mac n cheese, corn bread). And I had the fried catfish, fried chicken wings, candied yams, pinto beans. Catfish and mac n cheese were awesome. Everything else was pretty good too. Took roughly 23 minutes to get the food and it was fresh and piping hot. Overall a nice place and will come again. Pro tip: if you dont want to wait the 20+ minutes, call ahead.

The food is delicious. This not a fast food restaurant so you have too wait 15-20 min to receive your food. We had smothered pork chops, mac &cheese and cabbage. Next time I think Ill pass on the cabbage and get more mac & cheese . The service was good & the seating area was comfortable. The only bad thing that I noticed was the drive way to get into the plaza but thats not on the restaurant.

My and my daughters orders were mixed up. There was no offee to fix it extended. The corn bread dressing was runny (not completely cooked) and the food was tasteless. The greens and candied yams had no seasoning and therefore, no flavor. We ate a few bites and discarded our meals. Extremely disappointed with this place...
