Free family friendly activity. Train to play on outside with cool historical facts and items inside to view. Fun history lesson for an afternoon outing. Would be cool if they had a little movie playing or recording to explain more about the railroad past.

This was a nice stop on my busy day. Loads of classic and authentic railroad artifacts on display. I just wish it was a little bigger but I was not disappointed in the least. I plan to come back when I have more time. The caboose really gives the museum character. I may bring my mom next time. She grew up in Fulshear and remembers the train line well.

If you ever find yourself in Katy, Texas, youve got to check out this hidden gem - the MKT (Missouri, Kansas and Texas) Railroad Museum. Honestly, in a world where everything feels like its about the next dollar, this place is a breath of fresh air. Its like stepping into a time machine! And the story behind it? Crazy cool! A group of super passionate folks picked up the place for just $25 (I mean, come on!) and poured their heart and soul into bringing it back to life. One thing that really stuck with me was the old waiting rooms - there were separate ones for white and black passengers back in the day. Its wild to think about how times were, but its a part of our history. Makes you appreciate how far weve come and gives you a little nudge to never forget. Big shoutout to our guide, Brad! Dude knows his stuff and made the whole experience a blast. You can tell he loves what he does and its infectious. And man, Texas, you never let me down. The hospitality, especially in awesome towns like Katy, is always on point. So, if youre in the mood for some history, great vibes, and a dose of that good old Texas charm, swing by this museum.

We enjoyed visiting here and learning little history of Katy related to the railroad station. The building is old but they have tried to keep all the equipments that were used. Its a really good experience for kids. The Museum keeper was a very friendly lady, and was excited to give us the tour and explain things. She happily answered all the questions our kids asked. Kids really enjoyed seeing all the equipments of old times and to learn how they were used.

A huge railroad company once had its foot in the palce and transporting people. M K T (Missouri, Kansas and Texas) Railroad Museum, Park, heritage socity, and serves as an Information and Tourist Center for visitors. While you are there collect the Katy city map and guide and other city related infirmation. The receptionist at front desk is very helpful and welcoming. This is a restored area to preserve history and the importance of the company. We must protect and maintain these kinds of historical places. Please donate while you are visiting this place. Katy (cane island) has lot of stories to tell. This place once called rice and oil capitol of the world. But rice did not stand in the competition. oil is still ruling. This museum has the depot that is historical corrected building and carefully built structure that serves the purpose of getting us to the past. There is a telegraph station, old Red caboose car and the station clock for visitors. Benches are there for relaxing and lawn for kids to walk around and enjoy the place. Admission is FREE. Hours: Monday to Friday : 10am to 3pm Saturday: 10am to 2pm A must visit place.

A place most people drive by everyday and never stop in. Well kept, interesting information and pictures. It s the perfect size and casual atmosphere for my preschooler, getting to see the real caboose up close is also great fun! A treat to step back in time and appreciate the way things used to be.
