Visiting LBJ house and library Walking through the house where LBJ grew up in and seeing the surrounding countryside left me with a greater understanding of his aspiration to help lift others out of poverty. We arrived about a half hour before closing and were able to walk around and get a personal tour. Douglas, the park ranger did an exquisite job of giving us a personal tour and left us pondering his life. Noting that LBJ s father lived large and often beyond his means and his mother a lived the southern Baptist creed of helping those with less . LBJ acquired both traits.

We enjoyed the tour of the ranch and the replica of LBJs childhood home. The voice narration is by Ladybird. Very sweet.

This was such an interesting stop on the way to visit the LBJ historic park. We did the free walking tour with the visitors center and it was great. You get to learn about LBJ s early years and the influence his parents had on his trajectory.

Nothing special. We went to find his other house and ranch. Ranch was a ranch but many cars stopped at the airplane and we all wanted to know how to get to the house. Signs maybe helpful!!! Total disappointment

Nothing open and too few signs on the exterior. I want to give this site a good review but everything was closed due to Covid. Understandable circumstances but how could I rate higher?

A very worthy experience to visually see just what molds a man. You need to read or hear very little as you explore the ancestral grounds of his childhood as well as the LBJ Ranch in nearby Stonewall and draw your own conclusions. As a teenager during the Vietnam era with a family member stationed there, I went in with an unfavorable opinion of him and left with at least a full understanding. Indeed a well intended great man whose dream unfortunately became his demise. Careful what we wish for.

Lovely place to visit. Check their schedule for tours to make sure you are able to go inside. If it is closed, you can still enjoy the view through the windows and doors. You can also walk around to the back entrance and view the work sheds with all of the tools.
