This museum is a MUST visit if you come to Dallas. Its amazing with a lot of STEM toys for kids. They are also free on sunday which makes it a plus. They are well maintained and almost empty on Sunday. My 3 year old loved it here

I visited the Irving Archives Museum for the traveling exhibit called The Green Book. I had only heard a little about the green book before and I know there was also a movie about this history within the African American community but the Archives museum really brought this history to life for me with the interactive displays

What a delightful place! I visited in late January and I was impressed by the quality of the venue, the thoughtful approach to historic and art objects presented and the way that the history of the Irving area was explained in an accurate yet thoughtful manner. April and Alyssa (sp) in the shop were both AMAZING resources and the Archives & Museum are lucky to have them on the team!

Awesome local history museum! Very well-organized with lots of interesting details about the Irving area, as well as some bits about the JFK assassination. I especially liked the Fashion of Ballet Folklorico special exhibit; the curated pieces were beautiful and I learned a lot about Mexican dance and culture. Highly recommend a visit!

Visited the museum with my kids (8yo & 9yo) on Sunday since its free on Sundays and we stayed about an hour. The kids had a lot more fun than I expected because even tho its got a lot of Irving history on display, most exhibits are very interactive and allow the kids to play directly with the artifacts. There is a STEAM lab with all sorts of arts and crafts and buildable projects. The kids could have spent hours here creating and inventing. They especially loved the airplane and flihht simulator set up. IAM is a hidden gem because we were the only ones there! April worked in the gift shop and was very friendly and professional! Bathrooms were clean and tidy. Concessions available to purchase but no food or drink in the museum. Just outside the museum is a memorial park which would make a great picnic setting on nice weather days. Cant wait to come back!

Id love to give more stars, but in this case one employee destroyed the great taste that all the others left in my mouth. Jennifer has the disposition of a very bitter and rude woman in her last quarter of life. Its unfortunate. Dominique and other staff members were consistently delightful the entire time. The exhibit was intense and could have been well displayed to honor the deceased if not for Jennifer. Hopefully, going forward shell consider respecting the history and loss of others prior to speaking out of turn. The saddest part is, I believe shes the director of the museum Thankfully that bad attitude doesnt trinkle downhill to the other staff. The museum itself is very simple and pretty. There are many interesting and thought provoking touches that enhance ones understanding of Irving, TX as well as life in the South of the U.S. Technically, Jennifer s privilege and negative behavior is also one of those touches.

The museum is a hidden gem of Irving history. The permanent exhibit shows the growth and history of the city. The temporary exhibits are top-notch examinations of current and past events. Take time to stop to see this great asset to Irving, and plan to return for regular updating of exhibits.
