We sat at the bar and marveled at the interaction between the bartenders and their customers. They know their regulars and greet them accordingly. Fantastic display of how customer service should work and a daily basis. The music is hit or miss and can be loud on occasion, but its a great place to have a couple drinks and people watch. We sat at the bar and had a great view of the stage and the pool tables and it was better than going to the flea market on Saturday morning and watching the mullets buy pocket knives and NASCAR merch. There is construction and a little bit of a walk around the new stage, but never fear...I hear that they are moving shortly into a new venue a couple doors down. Heres hoping that they ditch the current barstools (fixed) as they are a little uncomfortable, but they are spaced just far enough that someone will inevitably try and skootch between you and your date in order to get a beer. Have fun and sing out loud!

Stopped in here while visiting and really enjoyed it. Bartenders were awesome and nice. They had live music and I enjoyed the music as well. Merle Haggard is one of my favorites so I had to stop by. Definitely recommend stopping in!

Bar was awesome with affordable drinks and a great atmosphere. Good upbeat music was playing and pool tables are available in the back for $1 a game. The bartender was friendly and fast even when the bar got a little busy. I would recommend this bar for great drinks with friends.

Great friendly staff. Perfect bar for karaoke, play pool and to watch the Toyota music factory concert traffic up close and also meet new friends. I recently moved to the area for a new job and was looking to meet up new friends. This is a solid bar but can be a hit or miss sometimes. Good thing it s next to several others so you can walk to the next one if it s a miss. Lot of kids try to enter the bar which can be a nuisance as the servers stop them or push them out.

I have given this place 3 tries over several months. Each time has been awful. I really like the atmosphere, so I kept coming back, hoping that things would improve. It has gotten progressively worse. The last time that I was here we waited at an empty bar for 15 minutes, and there were no bartenders in sight. We left and took our business to another bar. This lack of bartenders seems like a big security issue, since alcohol and registers are left unattended for long periods of time. I personally watched several other patrons walk out, because no one took the order for their first drink. I have watched patrons walk out frustrated at my last two visits. This time we went and managed to order one drink quickly, but that was the last time our bartender paid us any attention. To be fair to her, the bar is massively understaffed and she seemed to have to wear all the hats, while another employee sat at the bar drinking. After an entire 30 minutes of waiting to order a beer I had to walk to the other bar, and waited a few minutes longer there. I asked this other bartender to get me a blue moon and close out the check. She brought us a check, but no beer. I was completely frustrated at this, but did not want to take the staffing issues out on her, so I paid my check and left. I feel like I have completely wasted the only free evening that I get on this place. I will never come back, and will warn people to avoid this place at all costs. I am bitter that I wasted my hard earned money and sparse free time at this bar. The rest of the bars in the toyota music factory is so much better. I am surprised that a bar like this is allowed to operate here.

Mama Tried has live music Wednesday through Saturday nights. Theres enough room to dance but no designated dancefloor. There are 3 pool tables available so dont count on playing unless you get there early. Patio is huge and overlooks the Lottery Plaza stage. Good tequila and whiskey selections available.

The Dew and Brew is a Lone Star beer and Tullamore Dew whiskey shot for under 7 bucks, and the best bang for your buck at any bar in Irving. Its also available every day that theyre open and isnt just a weekly special. Also Sandra and the other bartenders are great people and the atmosphere is always welcoming. My friend group has made Mama Tried our go-to spot in Irving.

We went there during a concert... bought one bottle of beer for $5 my husband said he didn t leave a tip this time. Check my bank account and I got charged $8....... the bar tender took it upon themselves to give them a $3 tip on my card!!!! Husband called them, told them what happened... said manager would call back. Less then 30 mins call back saying we can go pick up our $3....... it would cost more in gas to pick up the cash... he told them to mail it to us or put back on card.... tried to ask for the persons name that put a fraudulent charge on my card.... we was told too many new people working that day... there is no telling how many other people this has happened to but they just not pay attention to their accounts.

Hooting tooting honky tonk slash sports bar! Visited during a business trip and it was a great place to get a drink and take a load off. Theres TVs all around with country music playing. It also has pool tables and a stage. I was surprised to see the bar even has a cigarette machine! Bar tenders were attentive and provide good service. If country isnt your feel, theres plenty of variety in the area but this is definitely the first place to stop.

Great Bar, Poor bartenders. I was at this bar on 05/05 around 7 pm and i wanted to play pool while i was waiting for my friend and the bartender refuses to the que ball without ordering a drink even after mentioning that i am waiting for a friend and would get my drink later. Pool game is normally $1 in this bar ( by quarter ) and this bartender charged $5 just to give me the que ball, So i can play while i wait for my friend and this is all when there was literally not more than 10 people in the whole bar and not even a single person at the 3 pool tables they have. I really like the place and the music at this bar but because of the bartenders i wouldnt recommend this place.

Do not ever come here and do not waste your time. If I could leave 0 stars I would. I proceeded to walk into the bar, as requested I presented my ID that showed I m am not a Texas native and over 21 years old, and asked for a large beer. For asking for a large beer I was cursed out by the bartender and then was approached by friends of the bartender and they proceeded to try and engage in physical altercation. I was told I don t know where you are from but, we don t say large around here and this proceeded. I have traveled around the country and the world and I have never experienced anything like this. I will never step foot in this bar again or any affiliate. If management sees this they need to fire this bartender. Also please confirm, is this your culture and business model? Ordered a beer for a friend of mines girlfriend and before even taking a sip we realized there was pink lipstick stains one each side of the cup. Once we brought this to our bartenders concern they responded with well we only use new cups when im bringing a concern to you that is significant to me because no one in our party had lipstick on therefore there shouldnt be any on there period i dont want to be met with criticism or given excuses as to why there shouldnt be because in the end no one had lipstick on in our party yet there was two lipstick prints left on the cup we were given. If this is the way people are treated here ill be sure to make sure anyone I know never comes to this establishment ever again.
