I was looking for some food options in the area and stumbled onto this place. The chicken fried steak is so good Large portions aswell as the mash potatoes ! Rolls were amazing. Definitely will be coming back, the atmosphere is older folks so its super low-key and no yelling or loud annoying kids!

Ive never been here before. Ive heard of it and passed by another location many times. I decided to check it out. I felt a little out of place, having never been here before. I was not greeted, just starred at. I stood there for about 2 minutes. What do I do? Seat myself? Wait to be seated? How about a sign if you dont want to greet your guests. Quaint, well run, and homey. All you want in a diner. The food is excellent, prepared fresh, and delicious. I prefer the #1 breakfast special. Mamas sayings line the walls, the wait staff have a memory for customers, and the food is reasonably priced. My wife and I have been going frequently, as Mamas Daughters Diner has dethroned our previous breakfast spot!

This was not the restaurant that we were trying to go to, but I am glad we ended up here. Upon entering, we were greeted by an extremely cheerful and friendly older gentleman that I can only assume is a regular customer. An even friendlier voice instructed us to sit anywhere. Before we could make our seat selection (we were trying out every booth), our waiter appeared wearing a big smile and helped us move the chair to provide more room. Something about the nostalgic atmosphere made it easy for us to put our devices away and enjoy each others company. After ordering, our delicious food came out hot. Everything was cooked to perfection as if it were seasoned with the love of Mama herself. We were allowed to sit and have after dinner conversations without feeling rushed or as if we were in the way. This was a wonderful setting for an affordable old fashioned family dinner.

The best random diner food I ve ever had. The chicken and dressing was so good. Shockingly good. Slightly sweet but not too much. I m a savory dressing girl and it was still very good. They even give you cranberry sauce!! The cinnamon roll was beyond my expectations. I thought it was just a cinnamon roll but it had apples and pecans in it!!! The greens were clearly Glory greens and could have used some seasoning so that was a little disappointing. But the macaroni and cheese was great too. This will be a regular stop for me. It s also super cute inside and the staff is warm and friendly!

This restaurant is usually 5 stars because of its service. Today, 03/31/2024, I ordered online & it was a disaster. The 10-15 minute wait turned out to be 40 minutes with the order completely wrong. All this is on the cooks in the kitchen. They were joking around & didnt seem to care about what they were doing. The place was not that busy. To the rest of the staff, thank you for your usual attention to good service. Management definitely needs to have a good talk with their kitchen staff. Will definitely not order to go anymore from the Irving location.

Tried this place out for the first time with my family. I need to figure out how to get some items that my mom and aunt use to fix before they passed away; or even just the women in my neighborhood recipes, so much talent with cooking, taste and quality. I had the dressing which was good, the mash potatoes was on a scale of 1-10 a 4, turnip greens was kind of bland a 3, and no pepper sauce, got to have pepper sauce with greens, and the Mac and Cheese nothing special a 3. We ordered the coconut pie, it just did not taste like a coconut pie, did not eat...The store bought Marie Callender taste way better. Overall, I would go back for the dressing, but not anything else though.

I gave 4 stars on atmosphere only due to the fact that it is a tad dated. However, the quality of their food is delicious.
