Hurst Dog Park

About the Company

rating: 4.7

Hurst is a Community Built on Connection, and that applies to our furry friends. The Hurst Dog Park is completely fenced in and features three different runs. The runs divide the dogs into 'large' and 'small' dogs for comfort and safety. Each run has a water station with a dog bowl, a bottle filler for the humans, and a dog wash hose for those dogs who like to get muddy! Pet waste stations are located throughout each run so that humans can pick up after their beloved pooch. Please help us keep your Hurst Dog Park clean for everyone to visit.

I ve always had bad experiences with dog parks but I decided to take my dog to this dog park and this was the first time she ever went to one. I wasn t sure how my dog was gonna behave but she did very well! Every dog was friendly for the most part and she seemed not so scared. Will definitely be coming back to this park

First time here with my dog. It was a lovely, nice size park with decent amount of shades, some branches, and dog tunnels. It will be better if it could have another water fountain at the other side of the park. I will go more often if it s closer to my house!

Hidden gem. Its a good size park. Not as big as Fort Woof but definitely a nice alternative. Its tucked back from precint line next to the college. Its quiet and peaceful. Can get busy, but usually theres only a handful of dogs there. Has two separate sides for small and large dogs as well. Doggy poo bags provided and working water fountain for dogs. Playground: Small agility course

Love this place to take my dog. She loves running and playing with the other dogs. The only thing is I really have to watch her because you have to go through three gates to get in which is good. The last gate you go through has a taller fence. If me or my friend that takes us because she has 4 dogs. My dog will jump and climb the fence. Last time we went she climbed the fence to the other side of the dog park and my friends dogs told on her. I called her and she jump and climb back over to us.

Our first time here. Tipps is closed thru the 31st for maintenance, so I HAD to come to this one! (Broke my heart to pull in at Tipps, then back right out - Jasper did NOT accept my explanation regarding the closure!) Id heard of this park, of course, but its a bit out of the way for us. Well, desperate times and all that, plus its only going to be 95° today! Were back to 105° tomorrow! Anyway, very glad we came, as this is a super nice, 3-section dog park. One for small, large, and one for all. It has sidewalks and is huge and laid out very nicely, very pretty. My only con is that the park sits right below the Hurst animal shelter, and it kills me to glance up and see the poor pups looking out, surely wishing they were with us. So for that reason alone, this park will be my backup. Its just too sad However, Jasper seemed to absolutely love it! There were a few other folks with their pups, so he did that; as I said, the park, in my opinion, is VERY large, so he had 2 solid hours of new smells to sniff. He came home, ready to eat, and is now deep into an afternoon nap

Very clean and nice dog park. Everyone there was very friendly. There are a bunch of obstacles for dogs to play with/on, lots of space for running around, plenty of shady trees, stocked dog bag stations, water stations, and separate fence areas for different size dogs. My friend and I were introducing our dogs and went into the medium-sized dog space. Shortly in a few more dogs came into the space and they were all very friendly and well trained. Dog-friendliness: We didnt encounter any overly rough or aggressive dogs. They were all very relaxed and playful. My friend did tell me that she had only one encounter with a dog that was not so friendly there. However, we did not encounter anything like that on this day.

I love this place. The only one complaint that I do have is that in the small dog area there is literally no shade on any of the benches it has way less trees in this area too. I think they should add a canopy over some of the benches and or place a bench or two under the trees. The middle and large park have so many trees and the benches are pretty much always in shade. I have noticed most of the people that come out with smaller dogs are elderly people and thats not good for them to sit in this hot sun.

Also in codes several nicely spaced out obstacles and a nice cement walking path with benches. There are 3 sections. I know 1 is for large dogs and one is for small dogs. Im assuming the third section is specialized for either all dogs or more complicated obstacles for training. Definitely the best new park around! Saying I don t think she s old enough to be here they have to be 5 months old. I think she s to little.. Pretty much chased us out the park with her attitude. If the other areas are closed the only one open is the large dog area so your small dogs get trampled by the big dogs. Even though tried to go to the back area where they were not at we got followed and the same lady s dog.. So my dog had no where to go and we left.. in my opinion this lady felt entitled.

Still pretty new so Ill assume working out some kinks. Middle area has a big mud pit where the drainage ditch is improperly executed. Wouldnt be difficult to fix it but... Rules require scanning a QR code to pull them up so I guess you are expected to find and review them before arriving. Standing at the gate with a leashed excited dog, fishing out a smartphone, scanning the code and scrolling through the rules probably isnt happening much. Lots of dirt areas. Not sure if the grass already got torn up, or there was never any there to begin with. Other areas look like the type of grass on a golf green. Surely theres a middle ground that doesnt cost any additional. Ill give them a couple of months to at least fix the drainage problem before I go back.
