Lots of trail options, however as of Sept. 24 they are still doing a lot of cleanup from the hurricane. Trails weren t all that well marked. However it looks like they are working on getting things baked in order. We had our fat tire bikes and managed to get around but not before a few detours. It has easy access to the Spring Creek Trail. There are restrooms and water fountains.

My wife and I had a great time walking around the park. We walked close to 2 miles and saw a lot of the area. It s nice they re keeping the place well maintained and still cleaning up a bit after the storm. Nice place to ride walk or run. Pavement it s nice and the trails are well maintained. I would suggest going to the Sandy beach near the river. Really beautiful. Mornings seem to be a good time to go out. Not sure how people survive coming out here in the middle of a hot day. Toilets: Restrooms were ok for a public park.

We were looking for a new park to explore and found this one. Free admission. The Spring Creek trails were a joy to explore; There are two trails which meets with each other through the creek when the creek dries up during summer. We witnessed people fishing and reeling in plenty of fish. Birdwatching was a treat too! Spent an enchanting evening amidst lush greenery, illuminated by the sunset. A perfect escape into natures embrace. Highly recommend.

Not safe for solo females. First when I arrived there were two lose dogs terrorizing the main trail entrance! Secondly, it is VERRRYY secluded . I did not feel safe at all on this trail. You barely see other people here. Would not recommend in all honesty, and this is coming from an avid runner who has been to several other Houston parks and trails!

My family and I met with some friends for a walk. It truly has something for everyone and within a 30 minute drive from our home. We really enjoyed the covered trail. The trail is very sand covered so prepare for difficult times pushing a pavement designed stroller or wagon if you have young kids. We plan to return and enjoy picnic things next time. Playground: We saw a couple really nice playground/ picnic spots. Honestly I wish these were more available through the state for families who dont want to do eat out but need a break during road trips. Dog-friendliness: Saw several dogs. Picnic area: Many great spots to enjoy a good meal.

There is an equestrian trail through the park as well as yield to horses and riders signs throughout the park, but the park is not horse friendly at all. Make sense of that. If you even pull in to the park with a trailer of any kind you will be followed and asked to leave. Most areas of the park is not even dog friendly. Other than that, its a pretty park but its crowded Picnic area: Few pavilions but the majority of picnic areas are not shaded or roofed

This park has held a dear place in my heart for many years now. My kids are adults now, but when they were young, we came here for the nature rangers program, the snake show, all kinds of other nature shows/programs, pioneer day, Christmas campfires, etc. I rode the bike trail from Dennis Johnston Park down here this past weekend with my girlfriend. I took her around the park and showed her the different things associated with my parenting memories and my kids experiences, showed her the redbud Homestead, etc. I love this park, and always will.

Sometimes there is suspicious activity that goes on in the parking lot or amidst the trees but its still (mostly) safe. There have been numerous occasions where the cops kick everyone out because something went down. Police patrol regularly and sometimes ticket cars with expired break tags. Otherwise, the coolest local park and nature area around. Closed on very specific days of the year, and closes at dusk daily. The flora and fungi are diverse and incredible to observe throughout the changing seasons. You can see all sorts of wildlife, from owls to deer to garfish. So neat! The trail is good to walk, run, bring your dog, rollerblade, skateboard, bike, etc. The restrooms are clean and well maintained. There are lots of events that take place throughout the month and there is definitely something for everyone. Placards here and there tell about the history and diversity of life to be found in the park. And the homestead area is my absolute favorite: its peaceful, its cute, its tucked away from the busyness of the main trails. The cabins and huts are interesting and there is also a seasonal garden to watch grow and change all year. Lots of people come here so dont expect to have much of the park to yourself. Rainy days, on the other hand, create a quiet and serene atmosphere, hardly anyone is there. It changes the dynamic and brings out some of the lesser seen wildlife. And there will be mosquitos for about two weeks after it rains. Mostly mosquito free, though. Overall, the loveliest park nearby with a chance of criminal activity. Toilets: Usually clean and well-maintained though far and few in between. Dog-friendliness: Bring your leashed dog and expect to encounter many other individuals with their leashed dogs

Once again, I recommend Jesse H. Jones Park & Nature Center. We have hiked here many times and still cannot explore all the trails. Today s ride was both efficient and fun. Where winding paths lead to secluded areas, there is always a stunning scene. We saw metasequoia and strange aerial roots, which were particularly charming with the autumn scenery. In terms of animals, we encountered pangolins on the roadside, great egrets by the river, and the bald eagle, the national bird of the United States. Since the photo was too far away and the photo was unclear, I asked AI to generate a photo of the bird and paste it on the photo.

We love finding different Trails to walk through on the weekends. This Trail Connects to two other trail Locations that weve been on , and we wanted to see how far exactly We could go before Hitting The Creekway Trail .. these Trails are Perfect for Looping back around instead of having to walk to a Destination and then walk back . Has alot of Shady Trails This Park has Restrooms and actual Playground Park .. We explore other Trails in other Areas, we do Come back to this Location Often
