Some of the best places to eat around the Houston area hole in the wall type restaurants, this place is no exception! We ordered the Samosas, Shrimp Pakora, Chicken Vindaloo, Biryani, and Butter Lamb (butter chicken substitute). The owner (and chef!) is a great guy, and you can really tell the food is authentic. The food is so aromatic and flavourful, we basically inhaled it before I could get more pictures I would love to come back and explore the menu, especially the curry lamb tacos. There are vegan and gluten-free options as well. Dont let the construction on the roads deter you from giving this place a try!

Husband and I are Indian food fanatics. We just got back from enjoying lots of it in the UK and were craving more. Decided to give this to place a try and we were not disappointed, in fact it was better than some of the Indian food we had in London! We had samosas, butter chicken (hot), and lamb vindaloo (hot). Ive seen Curry Sultan for several years, but had never went to eat here until this week. On Sunday, my husband & I went in on our lunch break & was thrilled with the food, service, & welcoming hospitality so we returned again just three days later. For several months now, Curry Sultan kept coming to my mind, & I would feel an unction to try it out. Im so glad that we took the time to come to this restaurant. My boyfriend and i were very pleased with the food!! The lamb saag was fresh! The lamb was really tender unlike most places that serve lamb. Im usually not the biggest fan of lamb mainly because everywhere i went the lamb was chewy.. here the lamb was veryyy tender almost like a roast and the garlic naan was also to die for! I grew up on food so I felt right at home here. Despite the negative reviews I decided to try this place to see if it was as bad as people say and to be honest I loved it. The food was bland (which I enjoy), other restaurants season their food and I dont like that. The prices are fair if you dont care. I had the absolute worst diarrhea after eating here but I really dont think its because of what I ate here. The owner wasnt very friendly which I prefer because I was in a bad mood anyway so I didnt want to talk to anyone unnecessarily. The food wasnt hot but who wants to burn their mouth on the first few bites? I was able to enjoy eating immediately without causing my tongue to blister. I would definitely return when Im back in town, even if I wasnt wanted there. Definitely my 8th favorite restaurant, in just that town. Thank you to the owner and staff. 4/10

Honestly, you have to try it if youre in Atascocita. I first tried it as a lunch takeout order but it was so good that I went back for dinner. I will probably go every week. If you know anything about Indian cuisine, you will know that this is quality food! Give it a try. you wont be disappointed! Edit - The above review was written nearly 7 years ago when Curry Sultan was across the street. While a lot has changed for Curry Sultan, one thing still remains true - if you want great Indian food, you should give Curry Sultan a try. Its about a 30 minute drive (one way) for me, and I will happily make that trek if I get rewarded with the amazing food that Curry Sultan has to offer.

Last Friday evening I was in need of some appetizers for a party, so I called Curry Sultan. I was hoping he would take my order since I was cutting it close to closing time, well he did & it was amazing! It was my first time and it wont be the last. Original review: A friend brought me here a few years ago, and that was the first time I had Indian food. Since then, I ve tried other Indian food restaurants and NO ONE compares to Curry Sultan. The owner is very friendly, 10/10!! Their samosas are AMAZING, honestly the best! Edited: It s been years since I first had this food, and I love it. The owner is indeed very friendly, but a little too friendly. I ve been run out of this place due to his friendliness . I ve received a lot of unsolicited late night texts (I did bring it to his attention that as a business owner, he should not be texting people late at 10pm). His Facebook page is a bit unhinged. He always asks me about my boyfriend and that he can teach me Spanish if my non existent boyfriend can t teach me. He s invited me back into the kitchen, and talked my ear off while simultaneously looking at me up and down (specifically my legs, i was wearing shorts). There s a ton of inappropriate behavior that made me uncomfortable, and ultimately made me never want to go back. I don t even want to order delivery in fear Russell will know where I live. Ordered the Malai Kofta (medium spicy) and Paneer Pakora as take out. I was not a fan of the food. The Malai Kofta is so different from another restaurant. This one tastes like pure tomato sauce as if it was Italian food. The sauce has no spiciness/spices or kick to it unless youre really savoring it. Thankfully, the potato balls have the right consistency and are packed with flavor. The Paneer Pakora is on the oilier side. It has a faint kick to it. The sauce that comes with it is too watery and has no flavor. Overall, I would order the Malai Kofta from another Indian restaurant unless youre okay with this type of vibe. My total came to about $24 and I dont think this is worth the money. I dont like to waste food or money but this was a miss.

Had the chicken tikka masala and it tasted straight up like tomato purée, the chicken were cut in big chunks not bite size. The naan bread was hard and a little burnt from the edges. The rice was a dry. I do want to say the samosas were delicious. I do recommend the samosas. Thank you.

I dropped by this place while I was in humble for a wedding the other day, I was greeted by a man behind the counter named Lobo. He was incredibly friendly and easy going. I ordered their vegetable samosas and the butter chicken, I firmly believe this was some of the best food I ve had in a long time! I ordered delivery of Chicken Tikka Masala, garlic naan and masala fries. This was my first time to have their food. My only complaint was the fries did not have much seasoning on them.
