I hope you read this BEFORE GOING TO THIS RESTAURANT. I SHOULD HAVE READ THE PREVIOUS REVIEWS. I am sad because I have been preferring restaurants closer to my house... but this is really frustrating and sad! I spent $62 on a HORRIBLE lunch! The service was very attentive, but what is the point if the food is absolutely horrible! THE MEAT WAS FLAVORLESS, THE POTATOES WERE FLAVORLESS, THE RICE WAS FLAVORLESS, OMG I DID NOT ENJOY ANYTHING AT ALL, BUT IT WAS COLD. IT CAME OUT OF THE KITCHEN AND ARRIVED AT OUR TABLE COLD. I know Greek food and I know it was NOT PREPARED WELL. The olive oil was not good quality AND THERE WAS NOT ENOUGH OF IT. The tabbouleh had more chives than grains. Gosh I am sad because I have not been getting it right lately. I am a good cook and I realize that they did not do it right. THIS RESTAURANT IS NOT COOL. I SUGGEST THAT THE OWNER OR OWNER MAKE CHANGES URGENTLY IF YOU LIKE THIS BUSINESS AND WANT TO KEEP IT. I will really stay away. But from the bottom of my heart I hope that you guys get it right. Because I love supporting the businesses in my neighborhood and I think it is important. Good luck!

I celebrate Greek food. I had the Souvlaki Chicken served over rice. Chicken was dry (like it had been cooked long before I ordered it) and rice was almost flavorless. Peas and carrots were but its hard to get excited about a side dish. We got a baklava to go, it was papery and tasted mass produced. The store itself looks like every other Greek hole in the wall youve ever been to and is frankly inspiring. Ill try the gyro next and if my experience is better Ill grant another star but they are missing a great opportunity to make better than average food.

This is the best Greek place Ive ever been to, especially in the Atascocita, Humble and Kingwood area. The food is almost always delicious and they make the best tzatziki sauce Ive ever had. The seasoning they put on the fries is amazing. We have tried a lot of their dishes but our go to is the gyro basket. Plus, the employees are always nice, the place is always clean and has a relaxed atmosphere.

Nice clean establishment with very friendly staff, Delicious food at an affordable price. I got #46 I opted for peas/carrots (peas/carrots had a mineral/can taste would not get them again) as my sides and a side salad everything else was excellent and a must will come back again to try other dishes!

This has to be the best Greek food I ve ever eaten in my life. I noticed that the whole restaurant was extremely clean, and even the kitchen was clean because my table was near the kitchen and I could see that everything was very organized. I m glad I stopped because I don t even live in the area I live close to Galveston. Vegetarian options: I am a vegetarian, and I was able to eat a lot of things here like potatoes and hummus, salad, rice

She charged me to use a credit card AND blamed the bank..how in insulting .NO other restaurant that I ve ever visited has done this! And she isNEVER in a good mood !! Opa! (Plate flies through the air and shatters on the floor) I ve been coming here for over a decade and cannot give below a 5-star rating. I ve brought students here. I ve brought friends here. Savvas is family-owned and makes anyone feel like a relative once entering the threshold of Greek cuisine. If you have not been here, don t listen to the negative comments. I don t know what their problem is. I have eaten Greek food all over Houston and Savvas is an elite establishment concerning ALL their dishes. Don t stop at one menu item, explore and enjoy. Oh, btw, it s never dusty or dirty. I think whomever wrote that came from a wrong dimension. Come to Savvas as a customer, leave as a cousin and having a relationship with the Aegean heritage sipping ouzo and end up carving statues out of marble and telling tales of mythological heroes. The only things this place has common with greek cuisine are names of dishes and pictures inside. Actively using canned food. Tomatoes had black dots on them. Which is disgusting. Half of ingredients are missing in dishes. They even managed how to miscook tsatziki. Service ppl are not even trying to get tips. And prices are not fair either. My first and last time i came to the place, cant even call it a restaurant. How they keep over 4 stars? No idea. 2 stars for atmosphere only because they are all wearing tshirts: caution, our food is addictive. Made me laugh.

My wife and I love savvas. We recently tried taste of Greek while savvas was closed, and it just highlighted how much better savvas is. Kid-friendliness: Had our 2 year old being a little noisy. The main waitress was kind and welcoming, even talking to him cutesy despite being very busy.

I ve been coming here for 14 years. In that time, the prices have gone up and the food quality has been hit or miss. I supported the business even throughout the price hikes, the construction getting to and from the restaurant, and even during the pandemic. And didn t say anything when they ve messed up here and there, including leaving out items I paid for. I ve even recommended them to others to send business their way. Recently though, they made a big mistake on my meal, blamed it on a new worker, refused to refund the meal or remake it, and I had to go back out before they closed (which is early) to get my missing item. Of course the rest of my meal was cold by the time I got home and was disgusting reheated, so I ended up throwing it out. And all the owner could say is, that s sad. What s sad is coming here for so long and the owner refusing to make it right the one time I bring up an issue. So I ate the cost of the meal I threw out and won t be back. 14 years of patronage and the restaurant rather lose that and future business and recommendations, than $14. I generally don t write reviews like this, but this is unacceptable and I don t want others to have to deal with it.

I just finished eating there and it definitely hit the spot! I was a little hesitant to eat Greek food in Humble (and not downtown), but when the owner said she has been there for 13yrs, I see why. It s really good!! I shouldn t have judged a book by its cover! I ordered the gyro plate with side Greek salad and lemon potatoes. I also got the tzatziki sauce and Tiro afteri?(spicy feta sauce). It was so very tasty and fresh! Portions were filling as well. Very affordable. (I just ordered extra stuff lol) Presentation of food was good and customer service was great. I know they were short staffed but food was fast to the table and quality/taste was not sacrificed. It s a cute little cozy spot. I ll be back and I ll tell others too! I ordered the chicken pita sandwich, which was delicious! The chicken was char grilled and well seasoned. The white sauce complimented the pita and meat wonderfully. I went there for lunch with my son. He had Lisas Choice special and I had the Jumbo Gyro. Everything was flavorful, and well cooked. My son loved the saffron rice and the chicken was juicy, decent size portions. My gyro was so delicious, the flavors and tenderness of the meat was great. Customer service was great and fast. This is my 2nd time ordering lunch from them, and both times have been a great experience. I like their Gyro Plate. The Saffron rice was decent and their Greek salad is always fresh & yummy. Been wanting Greek food and decided to try this place not too far from the house. Wonderfully tasting food and a good price! Not only was the food wonderful but the customer service was exceptional! Greatly managed business and we will be back! Try to remember folks that these people in the food industry (owners physically working in the restaurant) more than likely are working harder than ever to make sure you enjoy the food and your visit, and if there is something you don t like (even though they have been the nicest to you) does not mean you need to treat them poorly. I witnessed a very disrespectful customer come in and be abruptly rude to the owner who was very kindly taking the order, and trying to be as accommodating as possible to this customer but the customer continued to be disrespectful and rude. Thankfully the customer left on their own. My point is that just because something is not able to go your way to the T, does not mean you have to be rude and disrespectful to those trying their best to provide for their families. $30 for our meals before tip, we got the #39 and #37. It was pretty good and we would go back! We ordered to go which you can only call in. First time in this restaurant. A little pricey, but normal for Greek food. The seating area had tables but most were marked closed. Other tables were for two people but we had three. When my wife sat at a table that would fit us all, I presume an owner that was sitting at a table right beside, turned and said that table was closed, instead of getting up and making a spot for us to sit. No plates, only to-go boxes. Food was luke warm. We were there an hour before they closed and the place was partially shutdown. We will not be back and never recommend this place.

After the brief dinner, I considered it a total loss or better yet a $67 donation. The food was as bad as I have ever had ....in life...which is saying alot ,Im a truck driver and have ate horrible food for the last 25 years. The Lamb Kabob was dry, gamey(slightly turned)the saffron rice was lacking flavor completely. Picked up a gyro sandwich. Was pretty good. I wish the pita was a little thinner but that is my preference. It held well and the included sauce was very good and a must on the sandwich, else it would be a bit on the dry side. Will be back to try other otems on their menu.

Took her a while to actually apologize. Never offered to reimburse me although I was not interested in being reimbursed I just wanted to inform them of the mishap so they could be more careful with their food preparation. Hung up the phone and literally 2 minutes later the same lady called my cell phone and says to me,I already figured out what it was....it was a piece of onion. Ummm...no lady, I know the difference between a piece of plastic and a piece of onion. She said well sometimes an onion can look like plastic. I was irritated at that point. Believe me, Im looking at it, its not an onion. I think over all I was more disappointed and frustrated with the way the situation was handled rather than the actual piece of plastic in my food. Just glad I saw the piece of plastic before I bit into it. I will definitely not be returning.

Wow!!! The Lamb Shank was fantastic!!! Huge serving size. Two people could have eaten from the lamb shank plate comfortably. The deserts were delicious!!! (Baklava and Galaktoboureko). The dining room is small but very clean and comfortable.

There were only a couple of tables available so social distancing was practiced. The food was hot and delicious. I asked for no tomatoes or onions on my gryo and they had the forethought to ask if I also wanted to keep them off of my greek salad also.. so A+++ for service and taste..

I have been coming to Savvas for years and the food is just amazing. The gyros are one of the best in town and is something you shouldnt pass on. There desserts are amazing and you can tell are homemade. The Greek salad is very good and is very large for the price. If you are looking for something different and a local joint to support definitely try savvas, it is worth every bit of it.

Green beans are different they taste like chilly very good , fries were too salty , the pork was a little pink and over seasoned. The chicken was well cooked and seasoned perfect it was my favorite part of the meal. The shawarma was good and fresh , everything cooked to order nothing tasted old.

Id give this restaurant more stars if I could. By far the best food Ive had since moving back to the NE Houston area a few months ago and easily some of the best Greek/Mediterranean food period. Their braised lamb shank (only available on the weekends) melts in your mouth and their gyro and chicken souvlaki are just excellent. Its a non-descript, no-frills spot with fast, friendly service and super delicious food.

Pretty good for the first timer. Loved the Greek cuisine here especially the sausage platter. The only disappointment was the egg plant humus. I dont know if it wasnt made right the way it should be or if its the taste but we didnt like egg plant humus. Over all a good experience.
