I would like to preface that I didnt have a choice in coming here as I was in a group (and i was aware there would likely be nothing i could eat which i was fine with). Normally, of course, due to my allergies I wouldnt have picked this place, and Im sure most people with allergies know where they can and cant eat. However, I write this as a word of caution. Do not trust them when they say something has or does not have something in it. I was given several different answers with no clear indicator what was in this food. While Im sure this place has good food, be very wary if you have allergies. You are taking your chances. Giving 3 stars because the staff should know whats in their food or at least be able to find out.

Very great price for the amount of food given. Even when busy the waitresses try to give you the most attention as they can. The food doesnt take long and there are always people who speak Spanish. The best part is that they speak different languages not just English. When we were seated, not only did our waitress help us, the person who seated us and who charged us was also very attentive.

I think this place is highly rated because of the quantity but the food is very low quality and bland. The service is good but the food is tasteless. If you don t care about the taste it s a good place for you. But to me I would never come back and would never recommend it to no one. We ordered the crab rangoon, beef fried rice, beef lo mein and bell pepper beef. We also found eggshell in the fried rice.

Amazing. Absolutely amazing. We just moved here from Az and this is by far our new favorite Chinese restaurant. The people are so friendly and attentive. The food was fresh and delicious. Everything came out quickly, which is great because our son was hangry. We ordered three entrees and two appetizers for $60. The portions are so big! We took left overs home and ate two more times! If you don t like left overs I d say two or three people could definitely share one entree. I can t wait to go back!

We ordered an order of honey walnut shrimp, kung pow chicken, general tso chicken, shrimp fried rice and then an order of chicken fried rice to go. It was so good and way too much food. Leftovers for days. All that plus a soda was only $75. Definitely will get your money s worth. The waitress even helped us box our leftovers to go and was so nice. We don t live there but would go back for the food.

We had a party of 8 so we got to sit at one of the round tables with the lazy susan in the middle. Our server was so nice and efficient. She gave my grandson a special gift of child sized utensils and chopsticks. The food was amazing. We ordered Crispy spicy chicken, Beef noodles, Basil Eggplant, Strawberry Chicken, Cashew Chicken and Cream cheese puffs and veggie eggrolls. Everything tasted so good! There was a ton of food! This place is fantastic! The food feels more authentic than your regular Chinese restaurants and the staff is amazing! My 5 year old loves coming here because of how nice the staff is. Go for the beef flat noodles, spicy crispy chicken, and their strawberry chicken! Also this is the only place I have found that serves authentic Peking duck!

Think going here is becoming a norm. The serving sizes were pretty massive and sharable. I think everyone should try the Peking Duck at least once. It was quite tasty and the skin is great. I only gave service a 4 out of 5 due to having ice dropped on me. I was unsure if the server was new, overwhelmed, or incompetent; however, she was still pretty nice.

This place was some of the best Chinese food I have had, very much on the authentic side. Never had orange chicken cut, breaded, and sauced the way they do it, very delicious. This is a great place. So nice not to have a strip malll setting. This is an actual standalone building. It has an authentic Chinese restaurant atmosphere. Food was good, but everything seemed to be on the salty side for some reason. Portions are very large and I liked the dish presentation . I was in Houston for one night in transit on my way back from Mexico, so I went to this restaurant for dinner. All the dishes looked delicious, and my companion and I ordered three dishes and they were all delicious. The portion was so large that the two of us couldnt finish it, The staff at the store gave me a pack to take home, and I ate it for breakfast the next morning, and it was still delicious even after it had cooled down. Our server Crystal was PHENOMENAL! The food was exceptional and portions LARGE! Atmosphere left a little to be desired, and the multiple signs re: theft on the door, almost made me not want to go inside. I appreciate the warnings though. Great place! Everyone was friendly from the moment we came in. Our server was really nice and very attentive. The food portions are huge. They re served family style so that was nice. We had ordered the broccoli beef, general Tso s chicken, egg fried rice, chicken egg rolls and wonton soup. Even the soup is family style. It was less than $50 for the meal and more than enough. Our server even bagged up out to go food for us. The general chicken was more similar to the typical sweet and sour chicken but with the usual sauce. It was more of a tempura batter but the flavor was great and the chicken cooked perfectly. The broccoli beef was really good and the beef itself pretty much melted when you ate it. Read reviews that the Peking Duck is really popular here. Although we didn t to it we did see several orders going out and heard people talking about how great it was. All in all this was a really good place when it comes to service, food taste/quality and the price.

2nd time visiting this restaurant. Portions are very generous/can I say HUGE? Food was ordinary, mediocre at best. Had chicken and jalapeños and the meat was mealy and tough. All vegetables were way undercooked al dente, I m familiar that this is the way vegetables in Chinese restaurants are cooked this way. They are good. But these veggies were too crispy needed a little more heat. Egg rolls were a little pricy, and too thick and were tasteless. No flavor. Disappointed. Will not return. I ve been here twice now and the food is absolutely top tier for Chinese food. There s so many things to choose from. And not one thing has been a let down. They re known for their Peking duck and I m so happy we tried it. What an experience it was with the variety of sauces, toppings and the presentation. They really make it so easy by deboning the bones out. And they give you complementary duck soup that they have made from the duck bones. I can t wait to bring my family here next time. The restaurant is clean, lots of bamboo plants inside and an open view of the kitchen. Oh did I mention, all the stir fry dishes have the Wok Hay flavor.. if you know, you know! My favorite thing is they were playing Jay Chou.. it just reminded me of home.

I placed an order for this evening and my experience was okay. I mistakenly ordered the chinese stir fry vegetables assuming that a choice of protein would be included or that I could add some to it, but when I went inside to ask they said no. When I asked if I could change my order instead the lady at the desk inside said no because the stir fry was already made, which confused me because I was only 2 minutes away when I called it in. I looked through the menu again seeing if I could get a dish of something to add to the veggies but the order was already $14.95 and whatever the total would be seemed excessive for what I wanted to have; meat and rice and maybe some veggies. I asked her if she was sure that there was no way I could change my order and she went in the back to double check, she came back asking what I wanted and I ordered the spicy and crispy chicken. Then she asked if I was sure which rubbed me the wrong way, although I doubt it was intentional. I get I ordered the wrong thing but people mess up all the time and immediately saying no to me the first time I asked to reorder didn t help. The chicken was mostly tough and dry and even with sauce added to it, it was hard to chew. I m gonna see what else I can do to fix the chicken but at least the rice was perfect. I m not the only one to comment about the chicken being dry so maybe it s just the way they make it. I ve ordered here before and didn t like the flavor that time either, so I don t see myself returning.

I ate at many Peking ducks places both in China and in the States (San Francisco, Chicago, Atlanta, Las Vegas, etc.). This was the best Peking duck I have had so far. The skin, the meat, the wraps, the sauce, and the scallions were just right with so much flavor. So I ate here twice within a week. It was really good. As far as the Sichuan dishes here, I think they were okay, still good flavor but for me they were too sweet. And I am looking forward to going back again in the future (very close to the IAH airport).

Best Duck in Houston! It is cooked to perfection; juicy, fatty and soft. The skin is crispy and the flavor is absolutely delicious! It is carefully cut, they make sure it has no cartilage or bone remains (that would be unpleasant) The accompaniments are finely cut, the sauces are tasty and the presentation is pleasant. Honestly I have no word to describe how magnificent delicious this was. Very impressed with their chefs and waitresses skills as very courteous and professional. This is still one of my favorite Chinese restaurants in Houston. Its about 30 minutes from where we live and absolutely worth the time. Our family has yet to have a bad dish from this place. The service is wonderful. What they dont tell you is that the dishes are more family sized than regular - it just means yummy leftovers.

The food is very good and a large portion is given. The price per plate is fair based on the amount of food that is served. Their drink selection can be better as they only have canned drinks and non-sweetened tea. They can definitely do better in keeping up with their restrooms as they were dirty at an early part of the day. Having so many signs up at the entrance of the restaurant also made it look as a cheap hole in the wall instead of the restaurant it is. We were a very large group and had only one waitress. At times she seemed a bit overwhelmed but she kept up with us and did a decent job. If she would have had help, then I believe they could been more attentive. Parking: There must be many car break-ins as they have many signs on their door to lock up your valuables.

A couple of days ago, I shared with the waitress that I had a shellfish allergy. I only ordered veggie fried rice & had a reaction 1 hour later. AVOID if you have food allergies there is clearly a contamination issue. Now I have to get medical care for my reaction.

Best Asian food this side of the city. Think about it every time I m near the airport. They give you large amounts of food, and it s always a really good time. Sesame chicken is incredible. Definitely take some hungry people. Plenty of parking, and never too busy to accommodate. They mostly do takeout since Covid, but I m sure the dine in part is coming back. At least I hope so. Really good people, and really deserving. Love Bamboo House!!!

This Business will NEVER be recommended by me! The cashier that took my order completely ignored my emphasis on my shellfish allergy. I was very adamant about telling her to ensure there was no SHRIMP cooked into or with my food. I get my food and there was shrimp all through it. Then they had the audacity to offer to remake my food! Dietary restrictions: They totally disregard your allergies!

This is the second time I have eaten here and each time was freaking delicious!!! This is the best Japanese restaurant Ive went to so far. I was treated out for my birthday and their food is always fresh, plentiful and tasty. And the price is very reasonable for the amount of food you get. Vegetarian options: Their vegetable entries are delicious and I saw that they offer tofu entre items as well.

I m a big fan of this place but I must say the customer service is really bad now. The skinny Asian lady with color hair especially. No manners nor communication skills. When you approach the plastic barrier want to place your order, no greeting , smile or any eye contact. Just straight up you want to order ? I know the food is good here and lots repeat customers but your nasty attitude will divert at least 10% of the business away slowly. I m sure the owners will not like much of that. Updated experience with Rachel. Well recently I ve visited bamboo house and Rachel served me. Great attitude and service. Updated experience with Andy. Pick up a carry out order today. Short and sweet also straight up to the point. Great attitude. Thank you Andy . Updated experience 12/28/23. The food still tastes great but the front of house / bathroom is dirty.

What happened to Bamboo House? I discovered them shortly after the pandemic started. They were so good. Now consistently for the last 3 months they cant serve a decent meal. New chef? I got ice cold noodles with my favorite chefs special beef noodles today This is more than a year later.. They save your name and number, so I was cautious about ordering from my phone after my last review. I had my oldest daughter make an order for me a while back. Everything was perfect. Food, hospitality, and timing of my to go order. I took a chance and ordered from my own number today. They did not let me down:) 5 stars.. as it should be.

Really cool looking spot on the inside and outside, but the food was just ok. I appreciated them having vegetarian options near the airport, but the flavors of the orange tofu were lacking. Not bad, definitely edible, just also not great, I could see myself grabbing food from here in a desperation situation. I would have 4 stars but the floors were really sticky and the bathroom was gross.

After a long journey from IAH airport, we arrived at Bamboo House around 20:00, only to find that they had closed early for Thanksgiving. Just as we were about to leave, resigned to a night without dinner, the owner surprised us with an incredibly kind gesture. Despite being closed, they offered us a complimentary bowl of duck soup, apologizing for the early closure. The soup was not only a warm and welcoming treat but also absolutely delicious! It turned our disappointment into a memorable Thanksgiving experience. Big thanks to the owner for their generosity and fantastic food. Happy Thanksgiving indeed!
