Lees Den has an awesome atmosphere and a chill, romantic vibe. So much it makes you forget you re in Houston and possibly in an amazing wine bar/restaurant in France. Service is on point and very attentive and friendly. Food quality was superb. Check out the happy hour! A must try place!

Loved it! But maybe less dill in the Caesar Salad? Lol Dill was in everything. Which is fine. But it can certainly be a bit too much. It s not a big dill lol everything was lovely, would go back.

As others have said, this is in the old Benjys location. It has inside and outside seating. Since it is still horrific outside, we had reserved a table inside. I definitely recommend reservations. The place does feel intimate without overcrowded. I enjoyed the decor inside which had a midcentury vibe to it. While wed normally share a bottle of wine, we each wanted a different type of wine so we opted for glasses instead. Our server let us try a sip of the wine before deciding which we wanted. This helped us make a decision on which wine to choose. We shared a few dishes, the crudo, lamb, the black cod and lastly the cheese plate to finish off the meal. I enjoyed all of them but especially the cod. I just didnt expect the spicy kick on the lamb. I do not think my date even experienced it as spicy, such is my palate. In any case, overall it was a great visit. Id love to return in the (actual) Fall to check out the outside!

This place is such a vibe! Tucked away upstairs in the local food mart it s a quaint, cozy wine bar with great food and a lot of stellar wines! I reserved the semi-private area which is encased in their wine cellar. The sommelier recommended some of the tastiest wines I had the pleasure to taste in a while. We pretty much ordered everything off the menu. The king ora salmon and yellow tail sashimi were delicious. We also ordered the chicken yakitori and snapper collar which were tasty. The kimchi pancakes had good flavor but were a bit greasy and too soft, instead of having those great crispy edges! The Lamb chops were the star here they had so much flavor and were perfectly cooked and tender. The mac and cheese was interesting as rice cakes were used in place of noodles. I loved the chewiness contrasted with the crispness of the cheese. The Garden party was also beautifully presented with really nice and tasty offerings. My only regret is not taking pics as we were all so excited about the food and hungry we literally dove right in. The desserts were a must as well. The sorbet was refreshing, tangy and delicious and the butter cake topped with matcha ice cream was a winner. I am not a fan of matcha as for me it can be a bit strong and bitter. But this was delicate and the flavor well balanced and not overpowering. They even let us try a new brownie dessert that I m sure will be a hit! The service was top notch and we all enjoyed ourselves immensely. I can t wait to bring more friends here to try it out and next time I ll take pics!

Came here on a Friday night for a pre dinner drink with my SO. The interior is hip and cozy and has a small patio option. We did not have a reservation but the hostess kindly seated us letting us know that the next party would be arriving at 6:45. We each got a glass of wine which we enjoyed but did not try any of the food. The menu seems like heavy appetizers so this probably isn t a place that I would come back to for dinner. Downsides were that there is no liquor and the parking is kind of a nightmare. There are so many concepts sharing that parking lot now that it was difficult to get a spot even at 5:45.

There is going out to dinner. And then there is a dining experience. What a lot of fun! The staffs enthusiasm is contagious. From oysters and rosé through dessert. We were planning our next visit before we had even finished our first one. Look forward to exploring the menu, and a special shout out to the crab fried rice.

Like so many other recently-opened restaurants, this is another prime example of all style and no substance. The restaurant had an excellent ambiance and decent service. But that was all. The cocktails were mediocre at best. The food was disastrous. We had two very unappetizing appetizers before we decided to leave. The baked brie was postitively the worst baked brie on the planet - overly salty and a weirdly generous amount of black pepper completely massacred what could have been a simple and elegant dish. The shrimp egg rolls were the blandest possible food that I ever tasted - zero flavors. Two appetizers, one cocktail, and a zero-proof cocktail took our check to $65 with tax and tip. We ended up finishing our delicious dinner down the street at half the price. Not worth the calories, and definitely not worth the price.

Such a wonderful space! Lee s Den has done a great job of creating a chic, comfortable space that brings the outdoors inside - especially great on a beautiful day. This is a wine and beer only bar, so expect creative wine cocktails and great wine/beer selection. There is a wine room you can reserve for larger parties that looks amazing. The details are well thought through in decor all the way in to their restroom. Happy hour has a great menu with Sip & Snack combos at a great value for the quality and portions! Be sure to hit this spot for a cute afternoon or a happy hour spot to launch the rest of your night!

What a stellar experience! Service is unparalleled. The food is creative, unique and absolutely delicious. It s all wine, and the cocktails are wine-based so don t go here if you ve got a picky party. My girlfriend took me here as a birthday gift and we had a magical time. The music, the service, the lighting, the food all made for a perfect ambiance. Also, the pricing on wine is absurd $80 for littorai!? How!! My fav Pinot of all time, don t sleep on Ted lemon!!

This review is long overdue but after recently experiencing horrible service at a restaurant, it inspired me to finally write the 5 star review that Lees Den deserves. The service here is EXCEPTIONAL. The first time I ever visited lets just say Murphys law was in full effect. I was a little peeved but to make up for it they brought us a charcuterie board on the house, completely comped our bill, AND gave us a gift card to come back and have a better experience. I have never had any restaurant or establishment handle a situation like this before. When we came back weeks later, they immediately recognized us and gave us 5 star treatment. I was so blown away by how they handled this situation that I often think back to it when other places mess up and dont give so much as an Im sorry. Some restaurants out there definitely could learn a thing or two from them. Talk about going above and beyond the call of duty. I love the speakeasy concept and the restaurant itself is such a quaint little date night spot. Bonus points for the cute outdoor balcony seating. The food is delicious and reasonably priced.

Came here on Saturday night for an impromptu late night dinner and they got us seated immediately. Our server gave us really good recommendations and the sommelier just listened to our tastes in wine and picked the perfect bottle to pair with our food. They have an amazing wine list that is reasonably priced. The food is really good. The whole restaurant is small and intimate and the music was on point! Highly recommend. And make sure you save room for dessert, the chocolate lava cake is to die for!

I was so looking forward to this experience celebrating another birthday with my good girlfriends over cocktails and bites, however that was shortly disrupted by a hostess/manager (Ashlyn) who first hesitated to continue serving my table our cocktails (my guest had 2-3 each) and ultimately denied us service due to what she assumed was not safe for us to do. Oddly, she insisted that if we ordered more food then she would be comfortable in serving us the cocktail my friend was so graciously trying to surprise me with. Not only did this young lady question our alcohol consumption as if our conduct was disorderly in the restaurant, but spoke to us as if we were young children being disciplined at the adult dinner table no carrots no dessert. This was honestly the first time myself or my party has ever been approached like this by any eating establishment including those servicing alcohol, and I ve dined at some of the most prestigious eateries around the world. If we were utilizing the table for too long say that, if you have 2 or 3 drink max say that, but what is not acceptable is portraying as if you re worried about a guests safety thus deny them a beverage unless they spend more money on food, if I may add over $150.00 was spent on FOOD and beverages at our table. This was by far embarrassing as the host of my birthday happy hour, and inappropriate of the wait staff/manager I engaged with. I want to reiterate that there was no misappropriate conduct demonstrated by any of my guests, no one was drunk, slurring, stumbling, or gave any impression that alcohol should no longer be served to us. We were simply a group of well put together, beautiful, intelligent, and professional Black Women celebrating another gift of birth my Lord has allowed me to experience. And knowing that what was meant to be such a beautiful occasion ended abruptly as so, is extremely disappointing. I can honestly say that I m uncertain on what the underlying issue was given we her explanation of why we were denied additional beverages. What I can say is I won t think twice about visiting this establishment again, nor will I recommend it. Simply a birthday ruined! And my feedback will not stop here, I will be contacting the Owner as well.

Lees Den is an amazing place to relax have great food and be around friends. This prestigious location was once the famous Benjys which in my opinion was a Houston staple for great food and even better fun. Lees Den is still under the same ownership and has not disappointed in this new amazing venture. The music is always jammin and the servers offer great alternatives if you find something you re not sure of. Their knowledge of the drinks and food are outstanding, they introduced us to this amazing orange wine called Domo Arigato which I had never tried before but now I am in love with it! The weather is getting really nice and their balcony is going to be a prime time place! If you have not had the privilege to experience this place you need to get down here! Oh and be on the lookout for their secret back entrance. I do love little surprises! Chloe is amazing and our favorite food ambassador! She knows just what we want right when she sees us! Lees Den you had me at Hello!! Now I am a life long guest!

Small little lounge above Local Foods. Excellent place for a casual date or hanging out to catch up. Menu boasts a large wine bottle selection in addition to a few options by the glass. Plenty of snacks or meals to choose from as well as cocktails if preferred. Service is excellent as well; very knowledgeable crew holding down the den ready to answer any questions or wine curiosities you have. Be sure to get a reservation as the small room gets booked up quickly. Would come back again and would consider buying a wine bottle to go
