I wanted to love this place , unfortunately my experience fell short due to my server being extremely late to attend us, bring out our food and drinks , we wanted to have more drinks but the wait for the drinks made it inpossible. Our waiter was also very rude and unprofessional giving us dirty looks because we were there for a while waiting for the rest of our party . Answered all our questions in a rude manner as if he was annoyed with us . It was an unpleasant experience.

I had high expectations for my first visit to Loch Bar, but unfortunately, my experience fell short. Despite the positive reputation I had heard, the service I received was disappointing. Our server was rude, unprofessional and took an excessive amount of time to check on our table of four. This lack of attentiveness overshadowed our dining experience, leading me to question the establishments commitment to customer service. I believe that every guest deserves to be valued, and given this experience, I cannot justify spending my hard-earned money at a place that fails to meet these basic standards.

One of my favorite spots in Houston. I ve enjoyed their raw oysters and tasty martinis. Whether I dine at the bar or in the dining area, the service is always superb. Sometimes we catch some live music to add to the sexy atmosphere. They have a nice patio too. 10/10 experience Parking: Sometimes valet is slow but it s often busy so I guess it s to be expected.

Loch Bar is almost like a two-for-one because there is always live music on the weekend nights. Im a big fan of the comfy, leather booth seating. However, if you do happen to sit at the bar, it is also a great seat guaranteed to be chock full of action. The raw bar seating is also a hit at nights. The service is great and you are assured to see some characters walk in there. The icing on the cake is the fact that it closes at 2:00 a.m. Most restaurants have long closed by then, and if they are open they do not have half as great quality food as Loch Bar.

As much as I d love to continue to gate-keep as I ve been doing for the past 6 months, I guess I ll share my love for Loch Bar. I have visited this location at least 5 times (okay, actually about 10) and have enjoyed each experience. The food is exceptional and flavorful: Some of my favorites are the oysters, gumbo, and roasted branzino. Service is a 100/10! I have had the pleasure of being serviced by several different members of the staff throughout my many visits and must say that EVERY server was friendly, attentive, and ensured that I had an amazing dining experience. Lastly I love the atmosphere, this is my favorite place to visit when I have had a long day and just want to listen to music and enjoy good food/drinks. Whether I am dining indoors or out on the patio, the ambiance of this restaurant is always delightful. You do not often find a place where every element comes together so perfectly. Can t wait to return! :) Parking: There is a free parking garage behind the building and valet infront of the building.

I visited Loch Bar with my parents tonight, and the experience was abominable! Given that I ve eaten here before and enjoyed it, I was quite embarrassed. Our waiter s apathetic demeanor was a significant deterrent. Despite sharing that it was my parents first time visiting the restaurant, he was unenthusiastic and provided no information about the restaurant or the menu items. He did nothing to promote the menu or the restaurant.This is not what I ve typically experienced when dining in restaurants of similar caliber. Working in customer service myself, where high standards are expected, I understand the importance of excellent service. It was disconcerting that our server didnt come close to meeting those expectations. My dad ordered fish and chips and received one small fillet, which was totally unexpected, and the fries that accompanied the fish were very unappealing. We expressed our concerns to the manager and requested a second fillet, but it didn t arrive until everyone was finished with their meal. They couldn t expedite this? I know my dad was upset because even I was hurt and disappointed. I ve been here once about a year ago and wrote a good review. But I m assuming there s new management or something because tonight s experience was disheartening, to say the least. Given the price of the food and the reputation this restaurant aspires to, I think the waiters should be required to be more professional. Our waiter s negligent attitude was unacceptable. It felt as if he was working for free. I was quite embarrassed and disappointed because I couldn t wait to take my parents to this restaurant during their first visit to Houston. Sadly, when the waiter collected the check and asked how everything was, we replied, I wish it was a better experience, and he had no comment. Clearly, he is not vested in his job. Needless to say, I will not be returning. No one should be treated the way we were, and I refuse to pay for disrespect, negligence, and toddler-sized portions.

We visited Loch Bar this past Saturday. Very impressed to find that having only been open for 4 days they were already functioning as though their doors had been open for much longer. We were greeted by a host of friendly smiles from the valet, the hosts to the bartenders. As an interior designer I was first attracted to the decor. I enjoyed the striking sexy black and white environment, that was accented with touches of reds and gold. The over all vibe echoes a bold sexy, modern coastal style. The main bar wall is impressive in its stature and collective assortments of whiskeys. We sat at the bar and enjoyed the friendly banter and service of the skilled bartenders. The menus read impressively and are priced as you would expect for such a restaurant in this prime location. The crafted cocktails and appetizers that we enjoyed were beautifully mixed or plated and were equally delicious. The music was a great mix of older beats and at a great tempo. The overall ambiance and vibe was really great. We look forward to enjoying many visits to this location and can definitely see ourselves becoming a regular of their happy hours!!

We celebrated my husbands birthday at this place with a group of friends. I made a reservation and when we got to the place it seemed like they were improvising and the table wasnt ready, then they offered me one that we almost couldnt fit into. The service was not good, our server took too long to come check the table. The place is okay, I really expected more, I loved the live music, I think it was the best of all. The food was okay, there were several dishes on the table, I ordered Cream of Crab it was good, but $34 for a Shell n Cheese with two small pieces of lobster seemed too exaggerated. The bar has an extensive menu. The place has a good location and a good clientele but they must take care of customer service. Parking: Located in the River District, you can use the valet service or park for free in the covered parking lot.

We popped in for an anniversary date afternoon. It was dead in the restaurant maybe one table in the whole place. We opted to sit at the bar there were a few other bar guests maybe three. We each ordered an oyster shooter, a cocktail and split the fish and chips. The fish and chips were okay not $29 worthy. The drinks were great, bartender however seemed like he didn t want us bothering him. Service definitely lacked especially for such a nice place. The GPS took me behind the restaurant but after I arrived everything was a 5 star dining experience. Valet is reasonably priced at $10 bucks. I had reservations and was seated promptly. My waiter was attentive and so considerate being that I was a party of 1 on a video date with my husband for Mothers Day. The cocktails were a tad weak for my pallette but very good. The bread, ceviche appetizer, salmon on a bed of mashed potatoes topped with a creamy sauce as an entrée & honey Sriracha brussel sprouts as a side were terrific. The macaroni can be improved by adding a sharp cheddar cheese. More is better lol. Overall, this was a fantastic experience.

I came here after seeing the amount of good reviews. The food was good! The service however was probably the worst I have ever experienced. Our server was extremely rude!! Double check your prices on your receipt before you pay, they will overcharge you. Update 3/ 22 I decided to give Loch Bar another chance and had a much better experience. My stance is still the same on the timeliness of the overall dining experience at this restaurant. We arrived at 8pm and did not check out until 10:30 at night. So, if you are in a rush this is not the place for you. If you do not want to be rushed then this is a good restaurant where you don t feel like your table needs to be turned over quickly. The food and drinks were really good and the live music was nice. Came here the day before Valentine s Day after a poor experience at another restaurant that we had reservations at. Upon walking in, we were seated right away and greeted with live music. Huge shoutout to our server Tabitha, as she was so attentive the entire evening and truly made our night enjoyable with her great service. Highly recommend the skirt steak lettuce wraps. The flavor was so incredibly amazing I would have order two for my entree. We also ordered the Eastern Shore Fried Chicken with the Nashville spice and the Blackened Gulf Red Fish. Both were amazing and we will definitely be back to try other menu items as I don t believe you could go wrong with anything you order.

Did anyone say happy hour!!! They have happy hour every day , twice a day!!! It cant get better than that. Drinks and food special ! It was not crowded on Sunday at 5:30 . Loch bar bills itself as a seafood establishment with a solid oyster selection, but it s really quite a bit more. One of the more interesting things in their menu is the fried chicken (TN style), which you wouldn t expect but it s quite good. Cocktails are also great here and tend to stick towards classics executed well. The ambience is also fun and hits a sweet spot between overly fancy / pretentious and casual that makes this one of my favorite places in the area. This isn t your River Oaks see and be seen spot. It s just a great place for a nice meal.

I came for the lobster roll, but was severely disappointed. It was tiny and the fries were like 2 inches long. It was good but for 42$ I feel like it was so extremely not up to its value. It could use way more lobster and a bigger bun, be juicer , and have chips on the side instead of fries it had.

We had made a reservation and specifically chose to be seated indoors. Upon arrival we were told that they were overpacked and that we could either sit at the bar or outside. We chose to sit outside because we wanted to get the seafood tower and chomping on that while sitting at the bar didn t sound too comfortable. The oysters were amazing, but still, the attitude of the staff member who greeted us and how we weren t given even a simple apology for the situation really put us off. Why ask your clientele to make reservations if their choices aren t going to matter in the end?

The happy hour is clutch. The menu has a great selection of food and drink items ranging from $4-$12. There s one hour parking up front or you can valet or park in the public garage out back. I would def recommend the happy hour at the bar for a midweek fun outing. The Mac & Cheese is bland but I enjoyed it oddly enough. I think it was the cheese factor.

Very disappointed in the service on Sunday night, 12/17. We had one waiter then after we were finally able to order dinner, 1st waiter said that he was leaving and we d have a different waiter. 2nd waiter came around but we still had slow service. Then sometime later, 1st waiter came back to wait on us. Very odd. We weren t checked on, and every time a waitstaff member passed by full-on tunnel vision. The food was fine. One of our party members found the manager to inform them of our disappointing experience. The manager came to our table to talk to us about our concerns. They apologized and thankfully, was able to make good.

The girls and I had a great time here! The restaurant was beautiful along with the decor they have up for Christmas. There was a gentleman singing and playing the guitar while we ate- he was fantastic. They have valet out front for a fee if you don t want to deal with the parking garage. The $4 mimosas were just what we needed, mostly champagne and little juice. We were a total of 8 women and not one complained about their food. Everything was cooked to perfection! I can t wait to go in the future and try the dinner menu.

Only reason why Im giving this place a 4/5 stars is because 1. I went back and they didnt have deviled eggs that was my favorite thing on the menu and i ask for you guys to please bring it back 2. Last visit one of the servers as i walked in told me that the kitchen was closed, i spoke to the manager and the kitchen was still open and was able to order food thanks to him. But please bring the deviled eggs back that was the one thing that made me love this place and eating my food plain without my fav appetizer aint as fun.

Loch Bar was really nice. I sat at the bar and tried the froze. Once happy hour started, 3pm - 7pm, I tried the House White Wine and a cup of gumbo. The gumbo was delicious, but if you dont like spicy food, you might want to skip. Its not a lot of parking in front of the restaurant, but there is a garage nearby where you can park for free. I would definitely go there again. Parking: They have valet, a few free parking spots and a free parking garage within 5 minute walking distance.

First time visiting and I enjoyed my experience from start to finish. The service was great, and I had an amazing server Ariana. Tried the beer batterd fish and gumbo. Also tried the tasty cocktail follow me this way and bittersweet (hope I got the name right) If not cant go wrong on the menu. Definitely recommend, the atmosphere was a great vibe for Friday night. I m an old man trapped in a younger man s body and I like to eat early. My best girlfriend and I came here after I had one of those I want a patio and apps evening! crazy moments. As one does. I googled best patio restaurants in the loop and this was on the list. Seafood? Patio? Heck yeah! Reservations weren t necessary due to my 6 pm request but I made one regardless. Zoe was our server and she deserves all the praise in the world. She was attentive, fun, made excellent recommendations and made two stressed out adults relax. We shared oysters, deviled eggs, mussels, Mac n cheese and I m a Topo Chico dude so I m always happy when that is served. It was Social Hour so prices were reduced, always a plus. Food was very tasty, well prepared and my fries must have mayo and by golly I got my mayo. Highly recommended for the early evening apps type of fun. I ll have to come back for entrees soon! Parking: It s $10 to valet. Be aware.

Cool spot! Met my friend here for happy hour on a Friday. Wait staff was friendly, good drink specials and the happy hour appetizers were really good! It is located in a swanky shopping strip with lots of high-end stores and restaurants. You do have to either valet for 10 bucks or park in the designated garage. I opted to park in the garage that was free. For a Friday, it wasnt crowded at all. Nice mellow crowd, laid back vibe. Will definitely visit again and try some of the dinner entrees.
