Eloise Nichols hosted the Houston Concierge Association. We discovered it is the Happy Home of the $5. Happy Hour Hamburger. This little gem is great for a casual night out. Eloise Nichols is tucked away on Midlane with easy parking. They have an amazing Happy Hour with a great $5.00 Hamburger! What?! Yes, you heard me correctly. I know this because EN hosted the Houston Concierge Association and divulged their secrets as we indulged in their heavenly chocolate desserts. OH MY! EN is comfort food, cocktails, and dessert. Did I mention homemade Chicken and Dumplings? Go and enjoy!

The decor is very nice. Service was very good. Breakfast is served till 3 pm. Happy hour starts at 3 pm. Deviled eggs: 4/5 Its very tasty. The presentation was good too. They put small pieces of bacon on top. Chicken Cobb Salad: 4.5/5 Pretty good with the gorgonzola dressing. Instead of a hardboiled egg, they use a deviled egg, which is different. The greens used is romaine lettuce only.

Will be back! Came from out of town and was treated great by the staff. It was pretty empty on a Saturday evening, we were 1 of 2 parties. I say that, I loved it, to show what the vibes are. Very comfort and classic. You gotta get the joes hot chicken and pickles! Old fashioned was solid too!

UPDATE HRW 2024: Webt on a Saturday well before dinner rush. Service was painstakingly slow for the 5 tables that were occupied. Ordered a drink, and that took 15 minutes after flagging down someone who appeared to be the MOD. The meal time I k even longer. We spent almost 1.5 hours at this place. No apologies, nada! Cant say we will be back.

Have stopped by twice, and while the first experience was fine, our second experience (for happy hour) fell short. We ordered a few things and the brussel sprouts were very good, but the calamari was not good at all. The batter was flavorless and the squid itself was very dry and chewy, the cocktail sauce (or maybe marinara, hard to say) was also very water-y and lacking flavor. The burger came with a full slice of red onion (not individual pieces but a thick slice, see pictures) which was off-putting for a first bite but not the end of the world, maybe new kitchen staff. Server could not tell me the names of the individual beers on draft, just the breweries so having a complete draft list would be helpful, but she was very nice and accommodating so I consider it a plus. As I said our last experience was better and Id probably go back a 3rd time to give them the benefit of the doubt. I hope theyll workshop the food just a bit.

I went to this place with high expectations due to what I heard from other people. I went into the place and saw the atmosphere and it increased my expectations a lot and then I sat down and ordered the Brussels Sprouts, The Chicken and Pickles and the Hushpuppies Honestly Brussel Sprouts 6.3/10 Had a lot of oil and lots of sugar Chicken and Pickles 2/10 The Pickles were so sweet I almost threw up and the Chicken tasted so much like frozen chicken nuggets with a bad premade sauce also the batter was super thick The Hushpuppies 7/10 Decent Hushpuppies nothing to special but the was pure vinegar Keep in mind that the food took about 30 minutes and these were just appetizers. Next, I decided I wanted to get something that the restaurant good not mess up the burger with fries and aioli. I order the Burger The fries and the Extra Aioli on the side and then after another 40 minutes I get my food and it s without my sauce which is understandable but then I ask again and they take 10 minutes to give me and then they come back with a sauce cup barely 35% full. Anyways I try the food and in my opinion these are the ratings Burger 6/10 basic five guys burger but the pickle were so sweet if you go here avoid the pickles like the plague. The Fries 6/10 Food Flavor but not very crispy The Sauce 8/10 I just liked it I also came with my family and when they got iced tea the iced tea syrup was at the bottom and they had to order tea twice because it tasted too much like water. In Conclusion come if you want just don t get chicken or pickles also don t have high expectations

We picked a table outside, they partially cleaned it off. Not all the way, leaving what appeared to be a decent amount of.. hair behind? Mimosa- orange juice with a whisper of Prosecco. Shared deviled eggs as an appetizer and they came out sparsely filled and very wet? The plate was garnished with sad, limp micro greens. We asked the food runner for silverware/ napkins as we still didnt have any We got a burger and a chicken sandwich, both our fries came out cold. Both burger and chicken sandwich rather dry and underwhelming but edible. We were many bites into our meal by the time our waiter came around to bring us silverware and then replaced our fries. Waiter was nice but not very attentive- they didnt seem particularly busy. The atmosphere is nice but food is not worth revisiting

The worst experience ever! We went last night 2/18 for my best friends birthday dinner, the only good part was the food which took almost 2 hours to get to our table. The restaurant was basically empty, (maybe 3 other tables)we got there at 7:30 it took at least 20 mins for us to get our drinks which we had to ask for repeatedly, which at one point I walked to the bar to grab a pitcher of water as our table had none. We ordered all our food apps included and waited 45mins for our server Chris to come tell us he lost his notebook and our order wasn t put in. He retook our order, and proceeded to snap at another friend for helping with someone s order as it was modified(which was still wrong when it came out). At this point it s past 8:50pm and we were not aware they close at 9, to which when asked our server said 10. We asked for a supervisor to which he was sweet enough to take over and finally get our food out. We aren t picky people as most of our table is industry and understanding that sometimes we have bad days. But when a SUPERVISOR has to replace the server, something is awfully wrong. Considering it was my first time there it ll unfortunately be my last. To who it may concern, train your staff properly! Our appetizers were taken care of, which thank you. But, having to stay an hour past closing time because we were still waiting for food we ordered at 7:50 is a bit ridiculous. To which food was over cooked and some was cold. This isn t to get anyone fired or in trouble. So Chris I m sorry you were having a rough day! I hope today is better day for you.

Had a 7:30pm reservation for a birthday dinner and our server was chris. First of all it took a while for him to even take our drink order which he got wrong!! When he finally came back 30 minutes later to take our food order we asked for more water and that never came. 30 minutes after that he came back and said hey guys I lost my notebook and need to take your orders again....appetizers and all!! As I was helping my friend order his food (who speaks Spanish) chris looked at me and asked if I wanted to take the orders myself . While still waiting for water, my friend walked up and grabbed the pitchers while he watched and refilled us. Soon after that we asked for the manager. If it wasnt for deshawn Id give a 1 star but he made things a bit better

Had an amazing time at Eloise Nichols. It was our first time trying out this brunch place on a Sunday afternoon and it was busy for a party of 15. Our host and server did an amazing job with me trying to coordinate my cake I brought in for my husbands surprise party. Food was great and fairly priced. There was some confusion with peoples orders but no big deal. Everyone got their food and our group didnt really mind since we were all in good company. Shoutout to Alejandro! Thanks for your help and patience Parking: Busy for brunch but we were able to get free street parking since we came after 1pm.

My husband came here for a drink and little app before a different dinner reservation. Our server was super sweet and informative. We had manhattans and the Bourbon Improved-both of which were great. They have a happy hour so we opted for the small plates as we were going to have a full dinner shortly after. The Brussels were great! The hushpuppies were awesome! They were more of grits/mashed potato consistency inside than a bready usual consistency but they were fantastic!! They had cute decor for Valentine s Day. Bathrooms were very nice and super clean. Parking was slim but spots were free outside of the restaurant if you were lucky to get one. Very cute vibe, great date spot or fun evening with the girls. Would recommend! Eloise Nichols: A Five-Star Dining Experience! I recently had the pleasure of dining at Eloise Nichols, and I cant express enough how exceptional the experience was. From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the restaurants delightful ambiance and warm, welcoming atmosphere. The star of the show, of course, was the food. Its no exaggeration to say that every bite was a revelation. The menu boasts a variety of delectable options, and I had the opportunity to savor some of their culinary delights. Each dish was expertly prepared, bursting with flavor, and beautifully presented. The attention to detail and commitment to quality in their cuisine truly shine. But what made my visit even more memorable was the impeccable service. The staff at Eloise Nichols, under the capable leadership of their new GM, Erica, ensured that every aspect of my dining experience was perfect. They were attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely eager to make my visit enjoyable. Eloise Nichols is not just a restaurant; its an experience. Whether youre looking for a delightful meal, a cozy atmosphere, or impeccable service, this restaurant delivers it all. Its no surprise that it served as the perfect setting for a productive lunch meeting, breaking the ice effortlessly. I wholeheartedly recommend Eloise Nichols to anyone seeking a five-star dining experience. I cant wait to return and explore more of their menu offerings. What we experienced was certainly a very off day as Ive never had an experience like this before here. No one was at the front or even watching the front to greet us. We had to flag someone down to bring us water and again to take our order. The service seemed to be the only thing off at first, but then we realized after a while that no one was getting their food. After a very long wait the GM came around asking if wed like a beer or something to make up for the wait, but it was a midweek lunch, so we declined. The food did eventually arrived, but the chicken was a bit over roasted a dry. We then had to flag someone down again to get the check. Again, Ive been here a few other times with much, much better experiences on both the food and service. So, hopefully this was just an off day.

Been here several times. The last few times, we ve been coming in just right after lunch and Andy takes good care of us. Very attentive to us and informative on the menu. We ordered the spirit animal as our cocktail and it came in this pineapple copper container, so cute! It s also dangerous cause it just tasted like pineapple juice. Really like the caramelized brussel sprouts, they re crunchy and the sauce is delicious. I ve always like the grilled salmon with the roasted beets but I substituted the pesto cauliflower with risotto instead. To be honest, I don t know what they do with the beets, but I can t get enough of it. Andy also recommended the chocolate ganache bread pudding because it s not too heavy, and he was right! it s pretty good, not too sweet. Will definitely come back to try out more items on their menu!

Perhaps they held the order so it all came out at the same time? The tots rocks! We also tried the key lime pie - tasty but one side was very dry. They should have cut that piece off. Service lacked. Annoying when the waiter corrects you on what you order. I am 100% sure I did not ask for vanilla in my coffee, but his mainsplaining reply made me laugh. He corrected the order. We waited over an hour before asking for our check. More than likely, we would have ordered more drinks, but he never came back around to check on us. All in all, not a horrible brunch, but not sure this will be in the rotation of brunch spots.

We decided to try this little place because we were in the area. Bad decision. First, we had been sat 8-10 before I had to get up and go get the GM to get service. When the GM came over, she was polite and apologetic and offered brunch cocktails on the house to make up for the bad service. Great. So we order 2 bloody Mary s ($22) and our food selection. Our food comes out - mine is completely wrong so they have to remake it. When it comes out, the Gm, again apologizes and, again, offers more bar drinks on the house, so I order a mimosa. At this point, we are ok bc the GM is nice and making up for the poor service with comps; however, when the bill comes out, the GM says I also took 20% off your entree ($3) so I m thinking, awesome. When I look at the bill, the bloody Mary s aren t comp ed which almost doubles our bill. I bring it to the GMs attention and, just to make sure I wasn t hearing things, confirm that she did offer to comp all of our bar drinks, which she reply s that I am correct but rather than comp the bar drinks, she took the 20% off my meal - a $19 difference. so the offer to comp bar drinks ($30) turned into a $10 comp which, at the end of the day, makes us pay more than we would have had we not ordered bar drinks which we only did because of her offer. Lol. I just paid the tab and left. Frustrating to say the least. Would have been nice to have her fix it because that was what was offered and the right thing to do.

Parking: Ample parking and the valet is free and tipping is greatly appreciated!

Great little restaurant in the middle of Houston. We booked this brunch for the Horchata Toast, but it didn t come with the horchata sauce. The salmon toast was delicious. The biscuits and chorizo gravy was floury tasting, didn t have enough chorizo flavoring. The side of bacon was very crispy and delicious. The coffee was decent had a brunt flavor to it. For our Anniversary brunch it was a little disappointing, we will try other locations next time we are in Houston. We did mention the lack of Horchata sauce to the waitress but by the time she brought it out the toast was cold. We ate the fruit and called it good. Yes, we were still charged for the toast entree. The staff was friendly but our meal wasn t the best.

Brunch was amazing. I had a house made muffin and the chicken and waffles. The food came out fast. Tasted amazing. Everything was reasonably priced. Update 2nd visit: I went for lunch and was promptly seated. It took around 10 minutes for my server to come by and greet me. This was a little longer than usual but thats ok. I order the turkey club and Joes chicken. The club was fresh and was presented nicely, cut into 4 bite sized pieces. The chicken is a great appetizer to share. The chicken is topped with sesame seeds and pickles. The chicken is tossed in a slightly spicy sauce that is addictive. If you are near the galleria area give this place a try!

Dear brunch peeps, we are the ones that can eat breakfast 24/7 the ones that love eggs, pancakes, or baked goodies anyway, anytime .so for Ms. Nichols little fun spot (same owners of Adair kitchen, which I recently discovered) her place hits the mark. We started with some bubbly, and freshly baked blueberry muffins, and of course they were just perfect fresh out of moms oven I followed with the mushroom omelette and a side of tots if you read my reviews, you will also notice I can t skip anything that has mushrooms so yum to my tum! Our server was superb, and the place was so much bigger, brighter, then I thought from the outside also a patio that is fab!

Came here for a Saturday brunch with 9 of my girlfriends and it was amazing! I made a reservation a week in advance for 10 people for Saturday brunch and the staff was more than accommodating!! The day before, they called me to ask if they could move us ladies to a high top chef table. Im not exactly sure what that meant but if it gave us more room and farther away from other tables then why not. Saturday morning came and it turns out having a high top table was a LOT better than putting two tables together and in the way of other people. Plus our high top table fit 10 people PERFECTLY!! The brunch menu was so amazing. AMAZING. I ordered the chicken and waffles. But this wasnt your ordinary chicken and waffles. If youve ever gone to a boba/tapioca place and ordered spicy popcorn chicken then youll know what Im talking about. Their take on the chicken is the Taiwanese style chicken. And I loved it! Theyd waffle was so FLUFFY!!! Their syrup wasnt your ordinary syrup. It had a taste that I couldnt put my finger on but it worked so well with meal. Might I add they topped it shredded green apple that also worked well. Omg. I cleaned my plate. Some of the other girls ordered the horchata French toast, pulled pork eggs benedict, chorizo omelet, smoked salmon toast, and avocado biscuit benedict. Omg and let me tell you, they had a potato hash that tasted freakin good. I almost ordered a side but I contained myself. One of my friends said that it reminded her that the restaurant kind of looked like a boat. Service was fantastic. Everything about this place was great!! 10/10 would come back for the chicken and waffles.

Delicious food, the appetizer was huge (chicken n pickles). There was a family gathering of ~20 next to us so it was loud. Were showing NFL in the bar area, then in the dining area had music from 70s to present playing. Cant really title the feel to it, but the dining area is large and open. A cold front had rolled in on the day we visited, and the A/C was a tad cold (they turned the temp up when we asked). Overall great, will return. Parking: If the parking spots in front are full, use the parking garage at the north end.

We went for lunch and ordered from the Brunch Menu. Note: parking can be a challenge on the weekend so keep this in mind. There is a valet service if you want to pay extra. The Food: The Raja Breakfast Tacos were made with egg, red bell pepper and onions on corn tortillas. I ordered hash browns as my side. It came with ketchup and a mild salsa verde. Without the salsa verde, there was really no seasoning or flavor to the tacos. The Hash Browns were crispy, but there was no backbone seasoning. The Crispy Chicken Sandwich was crispy, but where was the Coriander Aioli? Barely a smattering on the bun. More pickles than necessary. Overall pretty good. The service: The waitress and other service staff were attentive and friendly. Parking: Hard to find a spot for a truck. Parking garage is limited in height so not truck friendly.

I sent the text below in an email, one week ago, to Davina Howie, General Manager at Adair Concepts, which is the parent company of Eloise Nichols. To date I have received no acknowledgement or reply. I find that astonishing! I am not asking for anything, but I expect that a professional organization would, at the very least, send a simple We are sorry about your experience reply. ---------------------------------------------------- Hi Davina, I was visiting Houston this week with our company CEO, and we decided to take our Houston team for dinner at your restaurant. So, I made a reservation for today (Monday the 31st) for 6 people at 6:00 pm. Our dining experience was quite awful and left me dismayed, since I made the booking, and my colleagues must have been wondering what I was thinking when I selected your establishment. The high point of the evening: four of us arrived early and had a drink at the bar. The bartender was very helpful and we enjoyed our drinks. But then our other two colleagues arrived, and we sat down for dinner, and things started to go wrong. The menu we were given did not match the menu on your website, so certain things people wanted were not available. During our time in the restaurant I think there were, at most, six other tables occupied, including a couple outside. But our waiter was invisible for long stretches. He was sometimes engaged in long conversations with other staff members, and sometimes in the kitchen speaking with a chef, so we felt very neglected most of the time. We often waited and waited, and then waited some more, before he came to the table. For example, once we finished our main courses and he told us about desserts we had to wait at least ten minutes before we saw him again. This level of service is deplorable. Our food was, for the most part, awful. We ordered, for example, fried calamari and some other appetizers. The calamari, when it arrived, was certainly fried, but to the point that it was practically inedible: it was probably cooked for two to three times longer than necessary. The outer coating was so crisp that it shattered when touched, and the calamari was like a piece of elastic band: tough and tasteless. Our CEO ordered a pork chop and said it was very bad. I ordered salmon, which was all right, but now I am back in my hotel room Ive had to make two trips to the bathroom. We were asked about desserts but nobody wanted any because by that point we were in such low spirits. Then we had to wait an age before being able to pay, because the waiter again disappeared. I have eaten at your restaurant three or four times in the past (once in June). I always enjoyed the food and the ambience, and the great service. This time it was like a completely different place. I would not consider returning. ---------------------------------------------------- Below my review you will see a response from the company that manages Eloise Nichols, asking me to call their Area Director. I did that a week ago and left a voice message. I have yet to receive a reply.

The decor and ambience of the restaurant are on point. The Decour is very trendy while still being classically beautiful. The staff was very friendly. However, the brunch menu is pretty limited. That s not an issue if the limited menu is done to perfection. However when you have a limited menu and the food is just OK that s where the ball is dropped. We ordered a children s waffles and berries breakfast, a mushroom omelette, and chicken and waffles. We also ordered a couple signature cocktails. The children s waffles were overdone and borderline hard. The waffles in the chicken and waffles were the same type of overdone. The chicken was mildly overdone and lacked adequate seasoning. The omelette was incredibly bland. We had asked multiple times for milk for our kid. Overall, I don t think I ll be coming back. Although the restaurant is beautiful the food is not compelling.

Went Saturday for date night and can not recommend it. The restaurant had awful acoustics making it very loud and hard to hear each other. My boyfriend had to move next to me instead of across from me. Generally the atmosphere was very stressed. We ordered the Houston restaurant week menu but they were out of the dessert we wanted. They were also out of the beer my boyfriend wanted. The waiter didn t fill up water and we still had our empty dirty plates when our second course was served. I had to ask the waiter to remove our dirty first course plates. For our second course the waiter forgot the steak knives and didn t come with our wine matched for the second course until 5 min after we had the food. We ordered steak (medium) but my boyfriends steak was well done and completely grey so we had to send it back and wait for his food to eat together. Only good thing was he taste of our first course. Would not come back - mainly because of the service. The waiter never apologized and could at least have given a glass of wine on the house for the trouble.

I definitely recommend this place and will be returning to try other menu items.
