The Niels Esperson building was finally completed in 1927. Once the tallest building in Texas, complete with Italian Renaissance-style tempietto which crowned the bustling city in a glamorous fashion that heralded the establishment of many of Houston s world-renowned cultural attractions during the fist half of the twentieth century. After renovations in 1938 added air-conditioning to the building. A must see for everyone visiting Houston for the first time.

The Niels Esperson Building is one of the most recognizable buildings in Downtown Houston. We stumbled upon this 32 storied 410 ft building while strolling through the Downtown Houston. The building showcases stunning Italian Renaissance architecture, adorned with massive columns, great urns, terraces, and a magnificent rooftop dome that illuminates the night. The buildings cameo in Bollywood film Sirf Tum, particularly the iconic Dilbar Dilbar song sequence filmed atop the tower, adds to its allure.

As I strolled through downtown Houston, I couldnt help but be captivated by the Niel Esperson Buildings magnificent architecture. This towering gem, designed by John Eberson and completed in 1927, is a true testament to the citys rich history. While I havent had the chance to explore the buildings interiors, merely witnessing it from street level was a mesmerizing experience. It serves as a reminder of Houstons architectural heritage, a blend of the past and present, making it a must-see for anyone exploring the heart of the city.

This is one of the older offic buildings in downtown Houston. It has a love connection story and wonderful architecture. The husband built a building for his wife and the wife built a building for her husband.

I am a native to Houston and for my birthday a few years ago, Honey arranged for a private visit to the Wedding Cake on top of my favorite building in our skyline, The Niels Esperson Building. What a fabulous view. The weather was perfect and I can only imagine the wonderful parties that were hosted there by Miss Mellie Esperson. What gem we have.
