After speaking with Michael, i realized i have found a very experienced divorce attorney. 38 years of experience is huge. This attorney an expert for sure. Has answers to all questions and understands the ins and outs of the court system. Thats what sold me on his law firm. He also specializes in family law, and doesnt try to do it all. I like that. No way someone can be an expert if they try to do family law, criminal and injuries. I also asked him about the negative reviews. He has many positive, and was surprised to see the recent negatives. I wanted some clarification before deciding to work with him. He was happy to explain. He said the most recent was a client who stopped paying his retainer by quite a bit and he had to stop working his case. I would do the same if this was my business.

I used Michael for a long antagonizing custody battle. The attorney for the other side was a barracuda and a totally overbearing person to deal with. Michael handled her and the other party well. He is very knowledgeable and honest. He was the only lawyer I could find at the time that didn t want to take me for a financial ride. He worked with me and I would refer him to anyone that needs a good family law attorney.

Don t do it!!! He will never I mean never return your call. Took our retainer and left . Our new attorney showed us all the mistakes he made! I m glad he decided to quit on us. He never filed the things he said he did. Promised us to win based on a default. But once he found out we couldn t get a default he decided not to represent us. My wife had to correct him many times on how to do his job! Thank god my new attorney won and I got custody of my son! And he is home safe and sound!

He claims you can t reach him yet tells you to contact him. He is too busy to give you the council you pay for. I bet he will respond to this review faster than a phone call. Edit: He dropped a case and no longer wishes to represent because he could not win and has failed many people. He only seeks wins before he retires so that he can brag about stats. These are people s lives he is shrugging off and stealing money from. I hope he remains a very miserable pathetic man

Disappointed in Mr. Delaneys effort. Although our case was a little unorthodox. Mr Delaney was very difficult to get a hold of towards the end and neglected to file for trial by jury.....very disappointing

My wife hired Mr. Delaney to assist in a child custody case regarding our nephew were as we spent almost five thousand dollars for his services for what he assured us was a slam dunk the day of court came and he was depending on the respondent not to show up and had NOT built a case even with being provided AMPLE evidence to do so. Upon telling Mr Delaney we could no longer afford his services that seemingly were for nothing anyways instead of filing to dismiss himself as counsel we learned he filed to dismiss the WHOLE case. I would NOT recommend. If you are looking for. A lawyer to FIGHT for you and your family members I highly suggest you look into a different lawyer. Not only is he unprepared and unprofessional he is very unresponsive. Edit: edit to add I had given the lawyer 5 thousand dollars already and in no way was I expecting him to work for free I expected him to do his job. No one told you they didnt want to continue we told you we didnt want to continue with YOU as counsel. AGAIN steer clear of this man. Suffice to say he cant even take responsibility for not doing his job that he was PAID for.

Wow, what a magician! If youre looking for family law representation, you have found it. I was incredibly stressed, scared and desperate when I was served child support papers. I called multiple law firms but none of them seemed as concerned about my situation as Mr. Delaney. He Instantly instilled me with confidence. At times he was difficult to reach him but understanding that he is a very busy attorney helped me be patient. I am so lucky to have found and hired him. Negligence is the first word that comes to mind when it comes to Mr. Delaney representing myself in my case. I contacted his office both by email and phone to check on my case on a biweekly basis and was told there were no updates or changes. Come to find out he neglected my case for 5 months with no communication with the other attorney. I was put in a very stressful situation dealing with the outcome of this. There was no apology just excuses, defensive responses, and even asking for an additional retainer. The outcome of all of this was having to fire Mr. Delaney and hire a more attentive attorney to take over my case resulting in me having to pay even more money to be represented the way a client should be by their attorney. This was the worst experience I could have imagined in a simple case. I would never recommend Mr. Delaney to anyone.

In 9 years of litigation and 4 previous attorneys, I had never felt my case was in better hands than Mr. Delaneys. Mr. Delaney is truly a professional and very knowledgeable attorney. He is aggressive in the courtroom when necessary, but remains professional and dignified. Mr. Delaneys customer service is also impeccable. If I could give a negative star rating I would. Not that going through a divorce is not traumatic enough, this man left me confused and lost. In 2017, he collected my retainer and then completely left me high and dry. He was hard to get in contact with. Didnt return my calls as if my case was not important enough for him. I had no idea what to expect and when I asked him over and over to explain it to me, he acted as though I was an inconvieniece to him. In court, he was not prepared. It was embarrassing when the judge had to corrected him regarding the details of my case. After it was over, he rushed to the elevator as I was trying to talk to him and closed the doors IN MY FACE. All he said was I will call you later... I couldnt believe it. And of course I did not hear from him... I always tell people the worst part of my divorce was Michael Delaney. I felt used and completely taken advantage of.

Mr Delaney got me custody of my son. Its tough for a man to win custody but i explained my case in detail and Mr Delaney said we had a shot. After a stressful year of fighting we finally won.. People just gotta be patient when it comes to these cases.. Let the man do his work... Takes time.. It aint cheap either.. Anywho Mr Delaney just wanna say thanks boss.. Michael Delaney is not to be trusted. He says whatever it takes to get you to pay the retainer and then once he has your money he is almost impossible to get ahold of. He was retained in September of 2016. It took him 4 months to even file anything. He quoted me $4500 to file for my child support and he would need to serve the mother of my child s father because he was in another country. He had to resubmit the documents to the court multiple times because he was mixing my case up with someone else and the wrong information was on the affidavit. Then when the judge finally approved the alternative service to the mother, he asked me for another $1000 to complete the serving of the papers that was already agreed upon in the $4500. I was stuck with either paying that or firing him and losing the $4500 I already paid. He was very confident I d get my lawyer fees back from the judgement so I paid him again. March I finally got my judgement after 6 months. He THEN informs me my lawyer fees will be reimbursed once he goes after them and that it is separate from the child support. So for months I followed up on him going after the lawyer fees and the last time we spoke he said he normally doesn t go after them because the persons owed do not have the money but in my case because my child s father does, he would see about doing that. Months have gone by and nothing. I call now to follow up and he rudely is cutting me off asking if I m hiring him again because he s not interested in pursuing what he said he was going to do. Why would I pay him again when he already blew off my case for months? And then said he would get my fees back and he didn t. He s a liar and unprofessional. Very disappointed in his services. There are other lawyers who will actually care about your case and take the time to do as they say. Response: I paid you $5500 for an order of child support, and lawyer fees. What good is an order of lawyer fees if you don t follow up for them? I understand lawyers charge for their work which is why I paid You. When I asked You what the next step was to collect you first said you normally don t go after it unless you know they have money. We both know my daughters father does but you d need an address. I called to give you the address then you rudely said you don t go after it. Never once gave me the option to pay more to collect my $5500. I may have considered. You simply refused to and was very rude.

This attorney is a scam artist! Please do your research and see for yourself DO NOT HIRE! I made the huge mistake of being so desperate to fix my sitiuation since my child was getting abused and bought his sales pitch about Im the best there is ill have this fixed in less than a month etc once he collected almost 3,000 he never did a single thing! Never even returned phone calls, I had to use different names under the impression of wanting to hire him to get him on the phone 3 years later after he changed his number and address from so many people he scammed I tracked him . He was shocked and promised to make everything right ans asked me to come in the next day. He promised me only 8 hours of Credit and that he would call me the next day and guess what! He didnt! After blowing up his office phone all day every day he had his secretary call me and say he wasnt going to do anything he wasnt paid to do because he wanted a total of 10k when the original agreement was to modify my court order for the total I had paid in 2014. Then she claimed he went to court did the work etc but we just didnt need to be present or know about it but the work was done. ITS NOT! HE EVEN MESSED UP MY COMMUNICATION WITH THE CHILD SUPPORT OFFICE AND REFUSES TO WRITE A LETTER OF NON REPRESENTATION BECAUSE HE IS STILL REPRESENTING ME SINCE HE NEVER DID THE WORK! THIEF! CLASSIC SCAMMER TOOK MY MONEY AND KEPT IT FOR NOTHING. HE IS ABOUT TO GET DISBARRED FROM SO MANY GRIEVANCES AND FRAUD IN ONLY ONE OF HUNDREDS. PLEASE DO NOT HELP KEEP MAKING THIS EVIL MAN RICH. Hes a liar. Check his facebook first. If you are a woman trying to get full custody, even if your ex is abusive, he will allow your ex to get as much visitation as possible. I suggest hiring a woman, if you are one. If not, I dont know how he acts because he never called me, he didnt let me know what was going to happen before my court date. Horrible, horrible lawyer. Today both my daughter and I are so happy and she is enjoying a Texas life!! In the summer of 2005 Mr Michael and myself met. My daughters mother and I had parted ways and I kept our child. With many obstacles in my way I was strong minded to do what ever I could to do to get custody and he had my back 100%. Being in the situation I was Michael took the time to find out who I was. My mother recommended Mr Delaney the short story is... she was kidnapped after I gained custody.... He offered assistance for myself and fought hard downtown. I always felt like I had the very best to represent me he is so sharp! He never let me down and if not for him I wouldve lost it. Wasnt long before I had the paperwork to go to New York, fight thier law and return with my daughter. If not for this man in my life Id be broken. In 2012 he also represented me in my divorce. I have nothing negative to say. I battled a long and complicated divorce with minor children involved. Yes it was an expensive investment but the outcome was all in my favor. After even having CPS involved I kept my childrens custody 100%. Now when my family/friends need a family attorney, Mr. Delaney is the only one who comes to my mind and recommend him. Everyday I wake up next to my children I cant help but thank Mr. Delaney, he did right by me.

He is a terrible attorney... I paid him $2100 for him to incorrectly advise me to get a default judgement when the other party had not defaulted yet. When I advised him of the dates being too early in court, he told me lets just see what happens but if they threw it out he would continue to represent me for the $2100 I gave him... They did throw it out and then he asked for more money! He is a liar.. All he wants is your money. And then more money... If you look at his reviews most people complaining about him say the same thing. And he retaliates with saying they didnt pay his bill... Not true. He lies about the cost and then asks for more money...RUN!
