Had an absolute blast with Trae as our guide at Get Hooked Fishing Charters in Galveston! Trae was awesome super knowledgeable and patient, especially with my kids, who had the time of their lives. He kept the energy up, made everything fun, and ensured we all had a great time catching fish. By the end of the trip, we were heading home with some nice Reds! If youre looking for a fun day on the water with top-notch service, Get Hooked Fishing Charters is the ticket! We ll definitely be back for another adventure!

Went on a 4.5 hr trip with 6 people. Mike was the captain. Capt drove slow going out, talked about running out of bait shrimp for an hour before we actually did. 2nd location to try and catch larger fish was a bust. Capt said the jetties were rough for last 3 days. We had caught alot of bait fish at 1st spot live croaker put in live well, a very large lady fish and half a dozen more for bait but 2nd location(tied to a powerline pole) they only let use use 3 poles for 6 people and even with that they took them away after 2nd piece of cutbait was used. So the 3 kids fished and only caught hardheads They said we were out of bait even with a cooler full of what we already caught. Left the dock late and left fishing 10m early. Slow drive out, but came in hot. He milked our time and bait and we left the dock with maybe 2-3lbs of fillets and he had a cooler full of bait that we caught. Didnt even try to put use on fish. We will never used his charter again and will strongly recommend our friends and family away from his company also

My family and Iook a fishing venture out with Captain Anthony. It was one of the best experiences in my life. He took extra care of my two boys and gave them an experience they would remember for life. He keep my wife laughing and immersed in the environment. If you want a great time, not expensive, and are in the Galveston area, book these guys. You wont regret, best time of your life.

We went on a long 8hr deep sea charter with Mike Short and his helper Caleb. The entire trip we had weather but both guys were amazing and we all had a blast. We caught our limit and all enjoyed the day. Anytime you need a fishing charter out of Galveston call Get Hooked as your first choice!

First time Ive been fishing in more than 30 years with my Grandfather and the experience was awesome. Captain Kevin was an awesome guide and was super instructive with enough funny sarcasm to keep everyone laughing. I swear if we go out again the anchor will be spotless before it goes in its well, Kevin. Thanks for the great experience 5 of 5, wouldnt change a thing.

Loved our fishing trip today! This mama took her daughters (4 &11 years old) on our very first bay fishing trip just us girls and it was such a great time! We were fortunate enough to have been set up with Captain Danny who is a very nice and helpful charter captain. My oldest daughter caught 42 fish!!!! I am not even joking!!! This was a 1/2 day trip too. I would definitely suggest if having young kids do the half day only. Also, choose the morning! Being able to experience the calmness and beauty of the water and sunrise is such a gift. I love how in the price you pay, you even get to have the fish cleaned. Also, a big thank you to Melody who made booking so easy and was beyond gracious and helpful. She is the perfect first impression for this company!

We had the best day ever!!! Trae was helping us Get HOOKED! If you heard Fish ON!!! you would see Trae running all over the boat baiting, casting, grabbing the net, instructing us how to throw the fish in the boat! We caught 6 speckled trout, 6 red snapper, a pompano, and a few sharks . Definitely ask for Trae he knows where the fish are biting! He was professional, persistent in finding the fish, light hearted and fun to spend the day with. He also recommended us taking our fresh catch of the day to a local restaurant called Huli Huli Hut to cook our supper. It was delicious and our server Jonathan was fantastic. Highly recommend calling GET HOOKED CHARACTERS directly.

We had a great time, Captain Kevin was fantastic and extremely patient with a couple novice ocean fishers. Kevin maximized every available minute in our 4hr trip so as to get us the most possible fishing time possible. They cleaned all our fish and Kevin even recommended some sweet prep and cooking instructions for the fish weve never had before. Were already think about a possible fall trip this year and will be requesting Capt Kevin if hes available.

We booked a 4 hour fishing trip for June 20, 2024 fur my husband and a friend. Due to the weather conditions we were able to change the date to 12pm in June 21, 2024. On the 21st we received a message stating the captain was running about an hour behind. Which was no big deal it happens. They arrived on time and the captain told them he was going to lunch and would be back. He showed up an hour later. The captain drove around the port to look at a house that was on fire then preceeded to say they would not catch anything because of water conditions and 6-8 ft waves. The captain told them they could fish for bait fish but not keep any. He asked what they wanted to do. My husband and friend both told him he was the captain and trusted his advice. The captain also talked about how tired he was and how much he had been working. They never made it to the fishing spots. The captain took them back to the dock then asked for a tip. He told them he would give them half charter fees back if they gave him a tip. My husband and friend was shocked but went ahead and have him $50. The captain then asked for $40 more! Believing him they gave him $40 more. While driving back they passed the fishing area and saw the water was calm. This captain gave the impression he was tired and really didnt want to be there but not tired enough to not to ask for a tip. We were only refunded $200. To book a charter then the captain being an hour late, not even make it to the fishing area, captain asking for a tip and not even trying to catch does not reflect very well for this business. After leaving the dock, driving to look at a house on fire and making it back to the dock the total time was abt 30 mins. That should let you know how much effort the captain put into this fishing trip. To say the least I would not recommend this company.

Get Hooked made our trip to Galveston definitely worth the drive here and was our favorite outdoor activity here this trip. Our guide/ captain was awesome and was very knowledgeable of the different species of wildlife indigenous to the area. This is a great trip for anyone and was kid friendly . We caught several fish and learned a lot along the way. My entire party definitely recommends Get Hooked if someone is planning a fishing trip to Galveston.

Oh my gosh. It was a day to remember. Our courteous guide, Trae, knew the bay well. We took a beginner family friendly 2 hr. trip with our 6 & 4 year old boys and they will not soon forget. We caught a black drum, sheep head, flounder, & our four year old got to land a whopper of a red drum! Trae was so good with the boys, coaching only as much as they needed. Had an amazing day! Our captain Trey a younger guy, was amazing he definitely made the trip worth every dollar we didnt sit in one spot all day and catch nothing the bite was rough. We managed to catch 2 but its fishing not catching he was very knowledgeable, courteous, respectful, and had an excellent personality. I would most definitely come back to learn more and have him as our guide again. Set up a half day bay fishing trip. Anthony showed up and showed out for us. He got us on sand trout, (flounder had to throw back , out of season still a fun catch). Then we moved onto the Red Bulls. Man what a fight. We hooked 4 and landed 3. All around great day. If you re looking for a great and experienced captain to take you out and put you on the fish, Anthony is your man. We also had the privilege to meet Trey another boat captain before we went out. Seen him out on the water hooking up his group he had taken out. Great group of guys, just tell them what you re wanting to go after, and they will put you on them.

friendly folks, just didnt seem too into it. paid 1200$ to catch not even 2 fish per person. plenty of catfish and shark that were too little to keep. kept blaming it on the double full moon messing up the fishing. but that same day I looked at other catches for other charters and they were catching an insane amount of fish. double full moon didnt seem to affect them.

Let me begin by stating I have been on a number of guided trips before during the summer so I have a good perspective to draw my expectations from. Getting the charter on the books was easy and communication was good on what to expect. I booked a BAY fishing trip for me, my wife, and my three kids ages (14,11,7). Boat was well equipped and the bathrooms were nice at the dock. So, why did I give Get Hooked only two stars? First, our guide Kevin took us out to the jetties to start the day; as we rocked and rolled, it was determined that the current was too strong and then the water color was too brown on the other side of the jetties. So now we are two hours into this fishing trip that was supposed to be a BAY trip only as my 7 year old started to not feel good with all the boat action. The decision was made to retreat to the calmer waters of the BAY were we spent the rest of our day wasting bait on trash fish (hard heads, ladyfish, perch, and a few small fish). My wife did hook a large red that we kept but that was it! We ran out of bait at 10:50 am and went back to the docks. So trip + tip, we have a $750 red fish for dinner! Wow?!? The guide did a good job keeping the kids baited up but did not work very hard to get us on quality fish. Even on the toughest of days, we should be able to catch a few quality fish with 4-5 lines in the water for 4 plus hours of fishing. Needless to say, we were extremely disappointed with our fishing experience with Get Hooked.

We had the absolute BEST trip with Captain Anthony and bonus Captain Trae. When we got there, Anthony asked us what kind of fish we wanted to catch - ones to keep or sharks. Heck, yeah - we said sharks!! The captains did not disappoint. If anyone is looking for a neat touring experience in Galveston, I d say you need to book a fishing trip and have them take you out to the deeper waters. Not only do you get a chance at catching some powerful predators, but you get the dolphin tour and your own personal gulf tour. The best of both worlds. Even if you aren t a fisherman, just going out and seeing everything is well worth the money - heck, I d pay to watch THEM fish!

Five stars could never describe this company. They go out of their way to make sure everything is Perfect. Anthony and Trey put us on the fish and we never got off of them. Thought it would be impossible to beat Danny from the last trip but they pulled it off. There are many fishing charters out there but nobody can touch Get Hooked Charters. My aunt took me and my cousin fishing. We had never been fishing and I had the greatest time. I caught the biggest fish I had ever seen. What a trip! My wife, Melissa, had never fished and I have extremely limited experience tagging along with friends in the past shore fishing. We were meeting friends here in Galveston who do fish and Mel wanted a new experience. Making a last minute call we reached Melody. She was great explaining the opportunities available and promised Mel we d get someone patient to work with novice fishermen . Insert Captain Kevin our guide for the day. Kevin was awesome. Great sense of humor that worked perfectly with our group. I m not sure we could have had a Captain we were more comfortable with. The fishing was great. They made my first experience on open water, off-shore a great experience! SHOUT OUT to Anthony and Trea, you were fun and enjoyable while maintaining a high level of professionalism and helpfulness, showing me where and how to cast. I was also impressed by the way yall worked as a team. While one was taking the fish off of the hook, the other already had the next pole baited, ready to go, and handed it to me so I spent all my time fishing. 1. My friend and I are total noobs. 2. I am in a wheelchair with a service dog. 3. We had no idea what we were in for or what to expect. 4. We have never been on the ocean, a bay, or anything larger than a lake. Now, all that is out of the way let me tell you: Captain Anthony and His mate, Trea gave us more than we could ever imagine. First Andy and Trea were more than accommodating of me and my chair; helping me on and off of the boat and, the space in the 20ft boat we chartered. The Captain knew all of the places to be for various fish and conditions: early fog and wind with incoming tide; later, outgoing tide with, glass-like surface, full sun, and light breeze. The crew taught us to cast, how to work out bait, how to snag out fish...everything. In the end, we could have caught more, if we were better at setting out hooks. My dog, Max even got in on the action, helping land the fish, LOL. Even with our limitations on ability we still end up with 2 flounder, 2 reds, an Over-sized black drum and a mess.of.whitong. If there is anything negative to say about Captain Anthony it is that he is a Dodgers and Raiders fan. SMH!! Go Steelers! I will definitely be back and hopefully land some sheepshead, more reds, trout, and snapper while eventually working into bigger water. Oh, yeah, Captain Anthony...he will always be my guide. P.S. The ride in and out are full of photo-worthy scenes and architecture and the crew is worth talking to as they are very knowledgeable, friendly, and informative about the bay, the gulf, the shipping channel and Galveston itself.. Amazing experience beginning to end!!! The staff was so incredible!!! When booking my trip I called around to different companies and when Melody answered my call I knew I found my people. She was so great to explain to me the different trips and seasons they run. I booked the afternoon jetty fishing with captain Anthony. The morning of my trip Anthony called me and told me the conditions were rough and offered to reschedule me to a better day (so grateful for this). We ended up going out on Monday morning. Anthony is a very knowledgeable Skipper that made fishing fun. We caught trout and a shark but most importantly we just had a good tome. I would highly recommend going fishing with these folks. I definitely will be fishing with them whenever I m in town.

I m sad that this experience was our first time deep sea fishing. Mike was awful. He told us not to act like retards . That word is unacceptable!! He screamed at me. He cussed the entire time. He acted like we were stupid if we asked him questions. He was unbelievably rude and arrogant. He used derogatory terms when talking about another captain in this charter. We had an awesome deckhand, though. Trae was nice, polite, helpful, and is the only reason I m giving 3 stars. Trae truly loves his job and loves to help customers have a great time. This trip was a gift from my husband s parents because we just got married two weeks ago, and I can t help but feel like Mike ruined it for us. This won t be the first or last complaint about Mike. Please, do something about it. These trips are supposed to be fun-filled and memorable.

We had a great off-shore charter today. The weather was a bit rougher than this land-lubber had expected, but our crew of Captain Mike and Tray did an excellent job of making it work. We reeled in numerous bonnet-head sharks, king mackerel, catfish, and a jack crevale. Im so glad I took my son on this trip.

FABULOUS JETTY FISHING TRIP!!! First time ever fishing for large fish/Red Drum/sharks etc.. at a Jetty and near the Gulf of Mexico off Galveston, TX. Captain Damian was awesome!! He was extremely patient, knowledgeable, and knew the waters and fish patterns. And again thank you for your service Cap. Damian! It was a beautiful windy but sunny day and I had a fabulous time learning from him and great conversation as we fished and I even got to sit in the Captains seat what a treat that was!! Caught lots of Gafftop sail Catfish, Hardhead Catfish, a few Sand Trouts, at least two sharks frayed the line and they got away (until the next time lol ;)), then the prize of the day I caught a 39 Red Drum OMG what a fishing rush it was, I could not ask for a better day or Captain. He also informed me of a few restaurants that I could take my catch to have cooked they way I wanted. So I did and it was great! Everyone with Get Hooked Fishing Charters was extremely accommodating & pleasant! I cant wait to go back to Galveston, TX and fishing again with them!!

Excellent time fishing with Kevin!! Highly recommend this outfit. Kevin had us fishing in less than 15 minutes and knew where to go. My husband and I booked this crew for a full day of deep sea fishing! We were beyond thrilled with the trip! My husband has some physical disabilities and the crew made sure that he was comfortable at all times. The equipment was top notch. They worked hard to make sure the entire day went off without a hitch. My husband ended up catching 18 mahi mahi, 1 barracuda, 1 tuna, and 1 trophy sail fish! This will be the only fishing tour we book from now on!

Me and my son Went out with Capt Danny back in June and had a blast. As a Navy vet I was impressed with The captain s ability to navigate the waves and provide a comfortable ride with the wind blowing at close to 20knts. With the Wind blowing water was muddy but we found birds and we found fish. I bet we ended up catching 20 specs up to 17 inches and 20 sand trout plus who knows how many gaftops. Seemed everywhere we stopped and got in birds we would have nonstop action. Even had a few mackerel cut some lines but they were fun. Capt Danny knew I wanted my son to catch a redfish so last stop of the day was anchoring up on some pilings and they did not disappoint. 4 nice reds all in no time. Was a blast watching son yanking down on nice redfish. They were all rats but still worth it. Nothing wrong with a 19 inch redfish and being able to release it. I think the best part of the day was back at the dock while cleaning fish Capt Danny put a Sand trout on bottom and told my son to watch the pole. I thought he was full of it , but low and behold the rod doubled over with a huge alligator gar that son got to fight for at least ten minutes. Got it up to the surface and it was at least 5 long before he had enough and thew the hook. But to be able to see something like that and be able to fight with a fish like that was a lifetime adventure for my son and something I will never forget. Definitely recommend get hooked they know how to take care of you and definitely provide kids with a unforgettable experience.

Booked the late cruise with Danny. Suppose to leave at 2, hour out, fish 4 hours, hour back. Didnt leave till 330, returned at 7. Most time out on water he cruised around like we were on a sight seeing tour. Only fished 2 spots and not for long. Then suggested we go back and fish from dock. Never book this charter again. Should be given a refund or atleast half. Terrible!!!

Captain Kevin and his deck hand Zane were absolutely amazing not only did they put us in some of the best shark fishing I ve ever seen they also were just great guys to be around. They made it so enjoyable with their great personalities and the amazing knowledge about the gear and the fishing. We had 4 in our group and once we got to the fishing ground Captain Kevin had all 4 of us a shark on deck in under an hour!! We went out on a 1/2 day jetty trip yesterday with Captain Danny and had a blast. Had to reschedule a couple of times due to the weather but it was well worth the wait. Melody made the booking process easy and was very helpful with the reschedules. Captain Danny was great and really good with my boys. Showed them how to cast, reel, etc and was very patient with them. My little one reeled in the biggest catch of the day! Theyre hooked and said they want to go fishing every weekend now. Hands best guide service I have ever experienced. We booked a bay trip with Captain Danny and deck hand Trey and they went above and beyond. My brother in-law is a disabled vet and has limited mobility and they were able to make one of his wishes come true. Awesome time going out for my 1st fishing charter. Captain Dakota was great! He moved us to a spot where there were fish and we just kept catching them. We even had 3 or 4 multiple catches at the same time. I would highly recommend them for your charter. The marina is amazing where they are at. Gated community so you feel safe when arriving when it s still dark out!

We looked so forward to this trip and it turned out to be really horrible. Melody said that if the waters were too rough the Captain wouldn t take us out and it would be an inshore trip priced accordingly. Captain Mike was determined to get his money though and spent an hour demanding that the boat beat us up as he headed out to a rig. When we finally arrive, we are soaked, freezing and bruised. We fish for 15 minutes and then he says we will head back in to shore. We spend another hour in a bone crushing drive back while Capt. Mike was laughing and clearly enjoying our discomfort. We get to the Jetties and catch a few fish, dry out and warm up but you couldn t drink even water because if you needed a bathroom he offered a bucket and no privacy (he did have toilet paper). We caught a few fish at the Jetty and then he said we would try a new spot - at the new spot we sat for an hour, caught nothing while he played on his phone and then he said time was up. He seemed to think it was our job to entertain him, offered little to no conversation or information and was rude to my family. I have been on a few fishing charters that have all been a lot of fun. This one wasn t and no matter how nice we were or good of an attitude we kept about everything Capt. Mike just couldn t bring himself to contribute. I will say his deckhand was the nicest kid, he was helpful and worked hard all day - there isn t a negative thing about him and he is an asset to the company. I will not use this charter again, do not recommend them and I hope that Capt. Mike changes his attitude. I m sorry we weren t what you wanted to be doing Monday but we definitely didn t deserve the treatment you gave us. We did catch a few fish at the Jetty and Capt. Mike did clean them. Then he was rude to my cousin when she was trying to hand him a tip she didn t even really want to give him. We held up our part, wish he would have done the same.

This trip With Get Hooked Fishing Charter was at the top of my bucket list, and I was not disappointed. The morning trip was briefly delayed by lightning, but once that passed it was fish on. I caught the largest fish Ive ever caught, an enormous Amberjack that fought like it was a whale. But Im guessing it was well over 70 pounds. Captain Zach put us right on top of every fish imaginable from bait fish, barracuda, amberjack, red snapper and more. Captain Zach handled the triple engine fishing boat like someone driving a fine motor car, we had a smooth ride even in somewhat rough water. I relaxed and felt rested and energized! Deck hand Travis was awesome in helping set up the lines. Turns out we both have Shimano Tiagra reels, and Travis was excellent in showing me how to use my reel the best way, and the type of line he has the best results with. With Captain Zach Deck hand Travis as a team, I was very impressed with their kindness, patience, knowledge, and help in every situation! This was certainly a trip of a lifetime, and I think I may just have to keep the opportunity of fishing with Get Hooked on Fishing again. We were treated royally! Fotos to follow.

Extremely disappointed in the service me an my friends received with this fishing charter. Our captains were nice and conversational but lacked in experience by a long shot. I do not recommend this place to anyone and will never use them for myself again. I spoke very highly of them to my friend who went on the trip with me and ended up catching nothing at all. The young Captain drove the boat extremely harsh and managed to send us all home with bruises. If you re searching for a good fishing service choose anyone but this place I cannot stress this enough to anyone but just don t waste your time and money with these guys.

Bad experience, only good thing I remember about it is the views in the water. We spent more time moving then sitting in the jetty s like we were supposed to to fish. We were supposed to fish with live bait. But of course the island was out and then they decided to get bait at the end and we got to fish with live bait for literally, literally 5 minutes. I won t be recommending this place to anyone. Maybe have some grown ups actually be our fishing guides. It wasn t the two kids fault, whoever decided to let them take us out on their own, is at fault.

This was our 2nd trip with Get Hooked. We initially got worried because we booked several months in advance through fishing.com and had a confirmed time of 11:30. We got a email before the trip saying our trip was going to start at 5:30am. We almost cancelled the trip due to the mix up. However Melody called and was able to swap our trip with the guy in the afternoon who actually wanted early morning so it worked out ok. We went out with Dakota and Clay who were great. It was my fiancé and I , our two teenagers and my sons friend. Dakota and Clay were great with the kids and made the trip very enjoyable. We caught quite a bit fish, it was unfortunate that most were not keepers(but hey that s how fishing goes). We did get to bring home some shark and king fish in the cooler which was nice. I would like to thank both of the captains for their patience with the kids and making it a memorable trip. We determined that we will call melody directly to book our next charter. We will definitely use get hooked for our next trip.

The trip was terrible. The girl that showed up as our captain was late. She informed us that her boyfriend was the actual captain of the boat. But they broke up the night before. He went out and got trashed and couldnt make it. So they called her in to fill his spot. My son had to help her with the anchor. She was having trouble getting it set. And pulling it up. 80% of the time was moving from place to place. 10% of the time was getting the anchor set. So you can tell how much time we spent fishing. Its ashamed that a business charges people for stuff like this. She was a really awesome person. But as far as a fishing captain! NOT AT ALL!! She was low on bait. Said that the island was out of live shrimp. All told this trip cost me around$1000 dollars. Its the first time Ive been to Galveston since I was a kid. Me and my son left this morning very disappointed.

My dad and I did a 6 hour trip. From the minute we met captain Brad it was honestly the start to a great day. He put us on fish right away. Pricing was extremely reasonable just for the knowledge of captain Brad alone. Very friendly and made us feel more like family then just a customer. Not only did we catch a lot of fish and two sharks, Captain Brad even cut out the shark jaw so I could give it to my son. I was extremely disappointed with the captain that we ended up with I believe his name was Captain Zack. we waited for him to come back to the boat approximately 20 minutes, then we had to go get gas which was about another 20 minutes, then we had to go get bait which was another 10 minutes so we lost almost an hour of our time just for him to do the things that should have already been done before we went out on the boat. Then when we go out on the boat he goes a little bit past the jetties to do shark fishing he throws out three poles with bait we sit there for an hour we catch nothing then he decides to go to the jetties and at the jetties we caught several fish but instead of him measuring them or verifying that they were either too large or too small or whatever he just threw everything we caught back I had a party of six, and we came back to shore with two trout in our bucket and that was it I dont understand how that happened considering the fact that everybody else that was around us were catching fish left and right and they had tons of fish....to say the least it was not worth the money I paid to go out on this trip...also I had an issue with the fact that you know everybody that was on the boat we were all family we were all having conversations and there was a few conversations that he came in on and made some extremely lewd comments about his girlfriend who is half his age and I did not appreciate that either....

Changed the quoted price last minute. Told me $200 (not including the deposit) but charged me $210. $10 extra isnt a big deal but not very honest about it. Just tell me itll be $210 instead over the phone when I confirmed the price instead it looked very bad on their part. The captain that took us out was nice and professional. This was for the scattering of my mothers ashes and he went the extra steps of letting us see some dolphins. Dont think they had life jackets on the boat though which was worrisome because both my husband and I cant swim. I asked for one but was told I was going to be alright.

Captain Mike did a great job making sure we had plenty of fishing opportunities and that we enjoyed ourselves. Clean boat with smooth ride, nobody ever got seasick. Very entertaining trip while moving to different locations to catch more fish. Get Hooked Charters, from Captain Mike to jiggling booking dates with Melody, they worked hard to make sure we enjoyed ourselves. We will def return next year!

We drove an hour and a half to go fishing, show up at the dock and we were told that the boat wont start. Then we found out that the other party that was supposed to go out at the same time as us had to reschedule because they didnt have any bait either. This was a very poor experience. The only options they gave us was to get a refund or reschedule.

I went out with Get Hooked Fishing Charters for the second time now on an afternoon excursion Thursday the 18th of July. I hired this charter company the first time in June of 2018. I knew the seas were going to be less than Ideal, so I arranged for nearshore activity at the Jetties, maybe shark. The first trip was simply amazing as we could have easily limited out on both trout and reds. The three adults with me simply wore out just before we reached our limit. Thursday s trip took us through the boat cut, largely due to the need for calmer waters, beyond that I will not give more about our location. The captain (Kevin) set us on a nice spot where we caught mackerels and sheepshead, unfortunately the trout and reds were just not in the area. On this trip I took 3 young boys 10, 12 and 14 who I mentor. Captain Kev seem to know exactly what I expected and did not fail to deliver. I would like, by this note, to let the owners of Get Hooked Fishing Charters know how talented this guy is. He allowed the boys much liberty on the boat but also convinced me he was all about safety. He managed/attended to all our needs; he operated the boat flawlessly. The boys and I could hardly bait our own lines as he watched each of us, our poles, our lines and knew our needs, likely before we did. He could read the waters, he explained what he saw and what caused the conditions, he was expert explaining the animals within and how to best catch them. Despite keeping up with the boat, the four of us, the tackle, the bait and everything else, he was able to spot big game fish off in the distance, he told me to look out about 400 yards to the southeast where he claimed white fish were jumping. Sure enough I saw multiple tarpon leaping after bait. Captain Kev quickly switched us to the bigger game rods and reels, positioned the boat to drift over the area. We got a strike within 5 minutes, but the leader line was torn by whatever was on the other end. The frayed monofilament leader was replaced with steel, we subsequently enjoyed two good healthy shark fights. I have fished these waters, I am knowledgeable of fishing these same waters, his ability to read the water, and put us on fish was beyond extraordinary. I would say he is a fish whisperer. Howard

Went off shore with captain Zack and a group of 5, came home with our limit in red snapper, several kingfish, a few cobia, and a big ole gulf trout. Even caught a shark and released it. Awesome memories, and a flat out great day. Cant wait for the next one.

This was our first chartered fishing trip. I brought my boys and their grandpa on a jetty half day charter. Our captain Chad made sure we had everything we needed to make things comfortable, he knew we were saltwater newbs. We learned a lot, and he went out of his was to make sure the trip was beneficial and we actually caught fish. I was hoping for drum and possibly a shark, but we caught some good eating fish, flounders, speckled trouts, etc. Kids had a great time, and that was the most important for me. I would definitely recommend this company, Melody was great and did our booking and answered all our questions. Charter fishing trips are generally expensive, but some are worth the cost and make memories with your kiddos. Thanks for a great weekend, will definitely be back to galveston, to catch some king fish, sharks, and tuna next time on the deep sea ull day trip.

My wife and myself have used a few different characters and have always been happy, I just gotta say that today s jetty and bay trip with GET HOOKED was HIGHLY disappointing, I don t think the captain knows where the fish are and he spent to much time fishing himself. we did not catch but hardhead trash and two tiny sand trout and 1 small spec. Not what I consider worth the $550. The couple and son on the boat next to us didn t catch but one tiny fish.

Oakley Sunglasses provided us with a training day/fishing trip and booked through Get Hooked Charters. SO MUCH FUN!! We booked an eight hour deep sea fishing trip and spent over five hours of that traveling to spots where we were not getting bites. At the end of the trip we expressed our frustration of paying 1600 dollars to not catch fish and we were told thats fishing. I wouldnt give a single star if that was an option.

We had a blast with Captain Kevin. If you are looking to do catch and release shark hunts these are the guys to go with. We had a bit larger group (6 guys). We pulled 5 sharks out of the water, and had 8 bites total. We only got to keep 1 of the 4 keepers because there was nowhere to put them all (the one we kept was a 5ft. black tip, the others were all spinners... apparently not as good eating anyway). All-in-all we had a great experience and all of us but one got to boat a shark. We came into the trip expecting to get to keep more of our catches. But either way we still had a great time! If the water is choppy, DONT sit on the front of the boat. One of the boats ice chests didnt latch so when we hit swells I would go flying up and the lid would crash down pinching my leg pretty hard. The fishing part of it was great though.

Booking the charter was easy and convenient. The boat was nice. Unfortunately, our captain was less than capable. I understand fishing can be hit or miss but we kept moving around from spot to spot without giving any single spot a good chance. I did catch a nice keeper but our captian Zach offered to take the fish off the hook and put it in the well. He never brought the fish inside the boat and attempted to remove the hook while holding the fish outside the boat. Needless to say the fish wiggled and he dropped the fish on the water. Very dissapointing!! The other boat had several fish. If I went with get hooked again I would request NOT to get Zach as the csptain.

Had a great experience (all 5 of us). Capt. Dave was fun and knew all the good spots to take us. We took their large triple engine boat which had more than enough room for everyone, equip, coolers etc. We caught king mackerel, shark, catfish, and crevalle jack. Captians fillet and cut all the fish too. Melody is very helpful and quick to respond to texts. only $100 deposit req d to reserve (other charters i chatted with req d half down). Ive gone on three charters with this company with various captains. One shark trip, one offshore trip, and one far offshore trip. However, my last 12 hour offshore trip will be my last charter with this company. I requested a diffrent captain several weeks in advance. For whatever reason which was not explained to us, Captain Mike took us out. (Not the captain we requested) Captain mike was rude and obnoxiously arragont towards some novice fisherman we had in our party. When one of the novice fisherman had to piss, Mike who was running 30+ knots in 2-3 foot seas, told him to lean against the door and piss over the side because he didnt want to slow down for 2 minutes. Once we arrived to out first spot, we had to wait for several rigs, lures, and leader to be tied up.(this should have been done at the docks before we left.) When repeated requests were made to move from spots that were not producing any keepers, Mike threatened to return to the docks. The last 2-3 hours of the day we stayed in the same general spot even though it did not show any signs of other game fish. Mikes only concern was not with putting us on fish but keeping the old beat up boat clean. The boat had minimal elections. It had newer triple 300s which didnt make up for the aging hull. I pulled up a snapper on deck to remove the hook from its mouth. It was bitten in half by a shark and blood dripped onto the rail and deck. Mike snapped that his precious fishing boat now had blood on it. One fisherman in our party landed a nice 5-6 foot shark. Mike didnt want to bring it in the boat. While we argued, the shark snapped the leader. This would have been the only keeper for the day but it was allowed to swim away. All the nitpicking, griping, and grumpiness was un necessary and petty.
