No details but after a loved one passed away leaving considerable assets and 3 days after her funeral her youngest child wanted to have a meeting with her other 2 children and discuss her finances. We had the foresight to set up a living trust and also create a will which she didnt have. To date neither of her other offspring have felt no need to contribute to her healthcare costs or to her funeral arrangements. Now a probate attorney is handling everything as required by law and we can take care of our stuff.

I DO NOT recommend Whitney Thompson for help with guardianship. First of all, she charges $400/hr even if that includes her paralegal responding to an email. We hired her in August and finally decided to give up (in December) because she didnt offer much guidance nor move with urgency on a time sensitive matter regarding my mom. $5000 spent and no action taken. Very disappointed. Now we need to retain another lawyer.
