Killer drinks and awesome vibe. This place reminded me a lot of a great tiki bar in NYC called Ottos Shrunken Head and coincidentally they had a sticker for that place out front. Its a tad divey which IMO is what tiki should be but the drinks were definitely high end! I recommend the Trade Winds, it had a killer presentation.

A true gem in Houston! Great atmosphere with variety of potent drinks! I recommend Barefoot in the Sand. Service is always great! The bar is small and fills quickly on the weekends so you should consider arriving early if you want a place to sit. Additional parking on side of the building. I always have a nice time when I visit this little retreat off the beaten path.

I used to Uber people to this spot back in the days. Looking from the outside it always seemed shaky. I had a chance to visit with some friends who recommended it. Man! Stepped into a totally different world. Its definitely a Hole in the wall, great people the vibe was nice and the drinks were on point. The only excellent tiki bar experience in Houston! The atmosphere was excellent given the space available, and was even decorated from floor to ceiling in TONS of Christmas lights and decor, which was overlaid on top of their already existing tiki bar decor. The service was outstanding and all of the staff were kind and helpful, even given that the bar was packed. We got in and couldn t be sat immediately, so ordered a drink while waiting for a table to become available, as reservations aren t accepted here. The drinks themselves were good! We had the Mai Tai, Painkiller, Sibling Rivalry, and one other seasonal drink. The Painkiller was certainly the best, but the Mai Tai was not a standout and probably would not order that again here. The ratios seem just a bit off. I really appreciate the custom Tiki mugs they have on offer as it s a very nice touch for any proper tiki bar. Overall the drinks were a 4/5 for tiki bar standards but the experience was a 5/5. Worth going!

Its a fun tiki bar. Most drinks are served in funky themed glasses. Theyre excellent if youre looking for a unique combo. Dangerous if you have too many, you might end up dancing the night away on a table somewhere. I definitely plan on returning & I recommend an Uber ride for the rest of the night.

The cocktail menu is stocked with all the tiki bar classics prepared and presented beautifully and perfectly from the mix to the garnish. The atmosphere is a classic tiki bar with no corners cut and a new surprise around every corner. What truly makes them shine, however, is the service. Our bartender, John, truly made it a top notch experience. He was well versed in all the menu cocktails and many more unique treats, but was also attentive and thoughtful. While discussing my favorite rum with a friend, he brought it out without word needing to be said and made the experience unforgettable with his professionalism and relaxed, friendly attitude. I cannot compliment this place higher, I will be back and I will bring more friends.

You will be in the now, especially for out of town mixologists especially when they find out youre from Houston. The bar has a cozy feel. The menu is unique. The cocktail I had I was very disappointed in. The flavor did not match the description and it was very very weak. I prefer beverages that are not strong or alcohol forward. It took 20 minutes to get my drink because the bartender forgot to make it after I paid and tip. I got a small apology and weak drink. Maybe I ll try this place out another time.

Its the perfect place to Lay Low and enjoy some creative cocktails. If the name doesnt explain it to you, it is a bit more heavily focused on the tropical side, but they also have a solid bar selection. I thoroughly enjoyed my cocktail: The last rites! It was extremely well made, and it had a little flame resembling a tiki torch! It was Spectacular. There is also a really large menu that anyone can find a drink that fits their preferences. Some of them are a lot of fun! Do not pass this place up!

Rude hostess. At least two other parties next to us waiting in the back were also complaining about the hostess(female with short hair). A friend in my party went inside to be in the AC for 5mins to cool down a bit and she made him go back outside to wait. He wasnt in anyones way just in a corner against the wall. Its way too hot to wait in the back for your table for 30+mins. No fans out in the back for the # of people waiting in this heat & humidity. Its 90 degrees out here at almost 10pm. Not worth waiting that long to get seated. Probably best to visit this place during the week when theres less of a crowd. This establishment used to be a whole lot better. My friends liked their 1 drink that they had while we waited.

Lei Low is such a great tiki bar. It s a mix of neighborhood bar and a transport to paradise. Located next to a convenience store, looks like an unoccupied space, don t blink or you ll miss it. Once inside, you re immediately greeted with traditional tiki decor and bartenders ready make your perfect tiki drink. The vibe is fun and the music is great. It s very busy on weekend nights, traffic is directed to the back patio to wait anywhere from 30-40 minutes. Drinks can be ordered and taken to the patio. The drinks are fun, there is something for everyone. Tiki drinks are served in tiki mugs. My favorite is Barefoot in the Sand- it s delicious if you love banana. Lei Low is definitely a must visit for tiki fans!

Love this bar! The atmosphere, decorations, and people are so fun. Its the perfect escape and an easy place for the time to slip (or sip!?) away with friends. The bartenders are super knowledgeable and friendly and the drink menu has something for everyone. If you dont see something you like they can make you something off menu too (including excellent mocktails for anyone who might not want alcohol). Ive never been a big bar person but this is a place I visit regularly and really enjoy. The only downside is parking in their lot is a little limited but there is street parking in the adjacent neighborhood or you can always Uber if you want to get schwifty

I went while visiting Houston and my friends all loved it so much we went back multiple times over the week. Great atmosphere and the drinks lived up the hype. I especially loved the Mutiny and the Peoples Champ, and the presentation on the Lemon Shark and Pearl Diver got my whole table excited. Super friendly staff who were all phenomenal even on their busy busy nights. Queer friendly too! Im a pretty freshly out trans girl and they could not have been sweeter to me. This place is amazing! I would have never guessed from the outside as its completely unassuming and in a small plaza. The staff is very careful to keep it from getting overcrowded and will send people out to the back patio to wait if it gets crowded. This place is absolutely WORTH IT!! For first timers: From the outside, you have no idea what you are about to embark on. It looks like the right amount of sketchy that youre looking for in a dive bar. However, once the door opens just below the little neon RUM sign, you are quickly transported out of Houston, to a place where you didnt know you were even searching for, but glad you found it! This place is so good, I would highly recommend trying any of their drinks! The parking situation is difficult, but once you re inside, you forget all about it. I go here all the time and have gone nearly weekly over the past few months and it never disappoints. Favorite drinks here are the Barrel of Rum and the Astro Ahu Ahu along with the Zombie and Mai Tai and Navy Grog. The bartenders are all great! Favorite spot to go in H-Town!
