If I could give zero stars, I would. This place is an absolute disaster from start to finish. First off, the staff was rude and completely uninterested in helping. It felt like they were doing us a favor just by acknowledging our presence. The wait to get a drink was ridiculously long, and when it finally arrived, it tasted like a watered-down mix of regret and disappointment. May be the service is only going to be good for white women ! Because of all this I would rather throw my money away than come back to this place.

I would definitely not recommend this place if you actually want a good, well balanced, flavorful, cocktail. I paid $35 for one watered down drink. They charge a venue fee, include gratuity, and who knows what else because when I closed my tab I signed for $22 but when I check my bank statement I m being charged $35 There s definitely way better places in Houston to have a nice cocktail and a good atmosphere. Skip this one. The drinks make for a cute picture but that s really about it. The service is as average as their drinks. There s nothing bad to say about it but also nothing good. EDIT: I think the owner s response to this review speaks for itself. The $35 charge might go away but the first and second impression of this place sure won t :) happy cocktail searching friends!

Came in for happy hour and the espresso martini did live up to the hype. However, I was surprised to get charged $7 for bottled water. The waitress did not mention there was a fee when she offered to bring water after we sat down. I would have declined if I had known. A cocktail bar that doesn t serve or offer tap water is irresponsible.

Clarkwood has a somewhat inconsistent policy regarding charging at the door. I ve visited multiple times without any cover charge, but on one occasion, they attempted to charge $2,000 for two people, which is bizarre, especially considering my previous visits. This lack of consistency is frustrating and detracts from the otherwise great experience. Despite this, Clarkwood remains a top choice for those looking for a high-end bar in Houston with a vibe that feels straight out of New York. Just be prepared for the possibility of an unexpected cover charge.

My name is Jahcorrian Burkes, a Mortgage Lender and a Commercial Real Estate Agent. I used to frequent this bar with my friends in the past, but after last nights experience, I will not be returning. The service was terrible, and the overall experience was extremely unpleasant. I visited the bar last night hoping to unwind after a long and successful work week, only to be denied entry because I was wearing a T-shirt. Interestingly, there were other patrons inside the bar also wearing T-shirts, but I was singled out. It seemed that the main difference was that I was a single black male without my usual group of friends. I found the manager and bouncers to be disrespectful and embarrassing, especially considering that I have potentially existing or future clients among the other patrons. When I tried to reason with the manager about the dress code inconsistency, I was manhandled by the bouncers and forcibly removed from the premises, where I saw several other T-shirt-wearing individuals. I was not under the influence of alcohol or any substances, yet I was treated unfairly. The managers excuse of reaching capacity fell flat when I observed them allowing five other black patrons, some in T-shirts, accompanied by white women, to enter. I even tried to prove my credibility by offering my business card to one of the bouncers, but to no avail. Feeling discriminated against, I have decided never to return to this establishment. Its truly disappointing to have such a negative experience at a place I once frequented with friends.

Aliana - the person who works here should get fired. The way she talks and acts she was having a anxiety attack. Do not come here. They just said that they had a $10,000 table reservation and told us to get up. They moved us to another table Aliana started picking up our newly ordered drinks and pushed us away. We have been here a handful of times over the past couple of years. Service varies based on time of day and how crowded the bar is at the time. On our most recent visit we popped by after dinner around 9:30. The gentleman working the door noted that generally they won t let men in wearing a t-shirt (it was plain white) after 9pm but graciously let it slide this time. There was a table of 4 getting up from a center table so we were able to snag that for around an hour until their next reservation arrived. Drink of choice was the espresso martini which everyone loved. The G&T also has a lovely presentation. Even when it s not completely full this bar is pretty loud, but the people watching is always a 10/10. Parking: Mix of free and paid street parking depending on the day and the time.

Went here with my girlfriend for our weekly date night. We checked online on the website and social medias before arriving to make sure this was a 21+ establishment and were dressed accordingly for a night out. Paid for valet only to get to the door to be rejected because according to the bouncers it is 25+. Unless you come here for happy hour, the service here is HORRIBLE!!! A few friends and I came for happy hour and it was great, then we came back later that night and the place was WAY over crowded, no seating available, when you did manage to get service by one of the waitresses it was like a 30 min wait for her to come back with your drinks! Also the waitress we got was just plain rude, we asked for a menu and that particular waitress told us she would go get one then just never came back. We had one drink and left. Then come to find out from my friend, they charged her card $300 dollars that she did not spend! The drinks at Clarkwood are excellent, great craftsmanship and creativity. However, our experience was overwhelming unpleasantly filled with candle fragrances. After one round of drinks, we had to leave due to the overpowering smell, which was pervasive throughout the venue. For anyone remotely sensitive to fragrances, this environment is not for you. The quality of the cocktails deserves better than being overshadowed by this issue. I feel bad for the employees who have to breath this toxic air for extended periods. I hope management addresses this to improve the overall experience for guests and staff alike. The smell travels all the way to Allen Pkwy and filled the entire Rosine Street! I get they want an immersive experience and scent is important, but this is not the way.

His espresso martinis are to die for perfectly balanced, rich, and velvety, with just the right kick to keep you coming back for more. Each sip is a testament to his expertise and passion for mixology. But what really sets Beans apart is his charming personality and undeniable cuteness. He has an infectious energy that makes you feel instantly welcome and at ease. Whether youre a regular or a first-timer, Beans treats everyone with the same warm hospitality and genuine care. Those who avoid the truth and pride themselves on prejudice and racism. I recently visited Clarkwood, and I must say, the experience was profoundly disappointing. Despite its upscale facade, there are multiple troubling reports about this establishment that should give any potential customer caution. First and foremost, there have been numerous accusations of racism. Even one accusation is bad, but to have many reviews, Reddit posts and complaints of racism shows there s a serious problem here. This is utterly unacceptable in any setting, let alone a place that prides itself on being high-class. In an era where inclusivity should be the norm, its disheartening to know this is truly their norm. Adding to this is the troubling issue of fraudulent charges. Many customers have found unexplained charges on their bills or charged multiple times, leading to the impression that the bar is attempting to get over on their customers. Its one thing to charge premium prices for premium service, but its another to engage in deceptive practices to bolster profits. This brings me to a critical point: truly successful and wealthy businesses do not need to resort to underhanded tactics to thrive. If Clarkwood were genuinely prosperous and well-managed, it would not need to milk its customers for every possible cent. (Fee to drink, fee to reserve, auto grat.. etc.) Successful businesses build their reputations on trust, quality, and customer satisfaction, not on exploiting their clientele. I invite you to read how Clarkwood responds to reviews, avoiding accountability and telling multiple people that sounds like it didn t happen here, maybe another venue.. yea, surely people just keep searching Clarkwood on google to leave it a completely false (but ironic) review. Do not give these people your money

Overall a really bad experience! Customer service is awful, if I am paying 24 a drink the least I expect is good service. Theyll judge you based purely on looks, definitely a very racist establishment. Manager asked us to leave without explanation (even the table next to us was in disbelief) and just sent a security guard to do her dirty job. Wouldnt even give up their names to make a formal complain. If you dont consume what they expect, theyll just throw you out.

The drinks were absolutely great. No complaints. Delicious. However. We got 3 drinks and our bill was $85. Why? Because we got water. Which is apparently $7 a person. So we paid $14 for water. Plus a weird venue fee . That is robbery. This is the first and last time I will be here. There are other fabulous cocktail places in Houston that aren t cheating you. And to be frank this place isn t that cool .
