I didn t order food so n/a. The drinks were good and the bar tender was very kind and he was fast. I treated the food off the drinks. Ha! Great atmosphere! Not enough seating. I had to leave an hour and a half early because I didn t have a seat. All the seats were filled. The parking was free across the street but I saw alot of people using meters around me. Valet was around $20. Awkward entrance path if the greeter isn t paying attention to open the door for you. Get there early. I think it was a good atmosphere.

Took my partner to the Poetry Lounge for live poetry and Comedy on Sunday evening. This was my second time experiencing the event. Great energy, love the live DJ, MC, but please lower the volume when you had the live singer on, as it seriously took away from the quality. The Poets were on point, and quite thought provoking and as real as real can get, which is who I am at my core. We ended up leaving a little early due to me having back and neck issues, but none the less, I will come back again. On a final note, I am a Poet myself, and give lots of love and credit for anyone who is willing to go up on stage basically naked and vulnerable, and bare their soul. Parking: You have to use a valet, otherwise youll never find parking, or take Uber or Lyft

I first went to The Poetry Lounge in Henke & Pillot on 06.18.2023, and I had a fantastic time. The spoken word delivered by each artist was captivating. From beginning to end, the atmosphere was inviting. Every artist was given the utmost respect and was encouraged if they happened to stumble. I was so pleased as a spectator that I decided to step out of my comfort zone and step up to the mic. The experience was the key to opening a new door for me. Ive written for years, but I had never shared on a stage before. I felt welcomed and received; I feel like I can step up to a mic again simply because of the atmosphere. Every artist was greeted with the same love! The Poetry Lounge is a great place to go if you re a lover of word artistry, love, laughs, life, or having a good time; youll get it all. You will leave feeling full.

I have only come here on Sundays for Poetry Lounge. I absolutely love it. It is perfect for a date night, girls night, or even family night for adults. They have decent drinks, but the event itself is so entertaining and fun. I have only personally gone to the 7pm shows about 3 times, but they do have a 2pm brunch show as well. Parking: If you can find street parking you will most likely have to walk, I usually do valet which is $20 normally.

We booked this venue for a company event and were very disappointed. We paid for the venue, dj, food, and drinks, and according to every listing/booking details, we had booked the VENUE. Never states you are only booking one floor of the venue, were never asked what floor we preferred, NOTHING until we arrived at the venue to another party being on the first floor. Their only argument was that the listing states each floor is x sqft as if we would have deduced it from that. After bringing up every email and booking detail to prove the flat out lack of communication, we told to make the best of it. The floor we had looked like a storage space with old couches lining the walls and folding chairs stacked in a corner. Props to staff for moving what they could when we asked, but disappointed it wasnt ready for us when we got there. DJ was booked through the venue and didnt start until 45 minutes after he was supposed to. Would never recommend or book again purely because of the false advertising, lack of communication, and uncaring coordinators/management.

I went to Sunday Poetry. It was great, However, the man that gave the XX Read, should have not been allowed to come up there, and READ that mess. It wasnt Poetry. It sounded like something out of one of his magazines. Not appropriate for that venue, or at least warn the guests that its a XX rated show. I heard people voicing their disappointment in his Reading to the audience. Most were not impressed. We came to hear POETRY. We can Read Otherwise, it was great ! The host was appropriate, and RESPECTED the audience. I think someone should skim over the material that will be presented beforehand. Should not need to, but after that guy........Yes!

Me and my husband came here last Sunday and it was amazing! Great poets, food EXCEEDED my expectations. We shared a fish plate with fries and two nice size jalapeños. Somebody in the kitchen know what they doing! Our drinks were tequila sunrise and Long Island iced tea. They weren t stingy with the liquor although I ve had better drinks. They were still good. The atmosphere was inclusive it didn t feel weird you can tell the whole atmosphere was a laid back vibe. What topped it off for us was the live DJ. He was lit! The audience was lit too it was a whole vibe! The age range of people there were a mix of middle age and above and the people that were late 20 s you can tell we re mature and in the grown and sexy class! I enjoyed this place. We going back this Sunday! Also, if you plan on eating I would pay a bit extra for a table because general admissions you would have to eat in your lap or at the bar. Get there earlier before the show to get seats that you would like. We sat on side and I would have preferred being more towards center. Host was fun and engaging. Kid-friendliness: Not a kid environment

My friends and I met here for brunch and poetry lounge Sundays. The vibe was on point, drinks were good, poets were good. However, the food service was horrendous, We ordered chicken & waffles and french toast and eggs at 2:27 and the complete order didnt arrive until 4:05. The show ended around 4 and people were literally leaving while my friends food was being served. This was a slow afternoon with 35 people there and MAYBE half of us ordered. We arrived at 1:35 and the brunch menu wasnt even on the site yet, we saw people coming in with items to cook. They need to be more organized or remove the food from the event, it totally killed the experience. I would return for the poets at night without food.

Came for brunch on a Sunday along with the poetry lounge. Ordered food before the show and never received it despite telling staff multiple times we were waiting for our order. No apologies about not receiving it either. Horrible service. Poetry is great and they need to look into getting a new venue. Or just go to the evening show and skip the brunch.

Garbage location, garbage show (Red Velvet Burlesque - read THAT review and New York Post article), the DJ he, she, man, woman yells at the audience versus entertaining anyone, the place smells terrible, and the bar tenders, employees, and anyone else attached to this travesty are terribly rude. This is a low rate dive bar; it doesn t even hit college bar level - it s that bad. Never never never again advice for management: close it down.

Because they didnt, the first time I checked...hint, the first time I checked...yall said, were backed up. The vibe is good but to keep it good, get that food on point. It will keep people coming to your events.

Someone important to my family and I, calls me upset and wants me to pick her up. Then she stops all communication and her phone goes straight to voice-mail. I call the business, for a safety and wellbeing check of this person who should be at the bar. The lady who answered the phone did not give one flying fudge. Didnt sound like she cared at all and worse made it seem like I was bothering her. I will tell people to stay away from this business if they do not care about womens safety.

When she told me along with the bouncer that I was not allowed in unless I paid, I went ahead and paid. Like stated previously I was there for subcontract work for the event that was taking place upstairs. She then swiped my card multiple times saying it didn t go through. *looking back she charged my card twice for $60* she then said to cash app the business, which was her personal cash app account. We stayed there a total of ten minutes. I will never return or send anyone that way.
