The Hideaway is a great neighborhood bar, I went for their karaoke night, and while the AV guy was new to running the night, he was very accommodating and actually joins in as a backup singer if he likes the song! There was only one or two wait staff for the entire restaurant, so it might take a while to get their attention, but it s not too entirely inconvenient. Parking: Rough parking lot with a lot of holes, so careful driving around there

Omg my first time here. This place is awesome for a hole in the wall, but thats the best places. Dana the Bartender was awesome and the food well let me say this I havent had meatloaf like this and omg it was the best. The portion s are so big, you definitely want leave hungry and if you do its your on fault. Im here for the week in Houston so I will be here every night to eat. Great menu and everything is home cooking. Just saying it is the best and great people.

I ve been very demure as of late; however, given the long wait in a dirt filed chair for an abundance of salt tossed on a fatty steak was absurd. I love the gritty ambience. The bar atmosphere was complimented by signed dollars stapled on every inch of the walls. The 1st problem was the unclean chairs. I was sure if I should sit or stand and order food. After the server took 10-15 minutes to greet us for our drink and food order, I already knew there would be a long wait. We ordered steaks on steak night. Not many people were there. Perhaps 15-20 people / 8 tables (1-3 guests per table). It took 1 hour exactly! Please refrain from ordering the onions / mushroom toppings. The amount of salt can season a gallon of pasta. The seal had ample fat that needed to be trimmed. For $20, it s a good meal but not the wait. If you do try this place, go directly to the bar. The server has too much to do. Perhaps there you won t have a funky seat or a super long wait. Ciao

My wife and I love coming here to eat and relax every now and then. We saw that they had Karaoke night on Fridays so we felt comfortable enough to come give it a try. The first Karaoke night was good, I got to sing a good amount but the old guy running it was pretty intense about his show. Fast forward to today and he was on a completely difrerent level. He skipped several people in favor of the people he wanted to listen to. Then I had a conversation with this woman about something completely irrelevant to the show and he felt it was necessary to pull us to the stage to belittle us because he thought we were talking about his show thanks to you sir my wife and I will never be back for karaoke night and maybe not the bar at all. You really put a sour taste in our mouths Mr. Karaoke guy. We may come back if they can find someone that isnt an a-hole like him. Food is great but other than that there are plenty of other places to go.

This place is an unassuming gem. You wouldnt know from the outside that they have a stellar steak dinner. To our surprise, we went on Tuesday which is when the steak dinner is $20 and theres a live blues jam. Our server was new but was very attentive. Great dive bar ambiance and delicious food.

First time going there & Dana was great ! So we re the crawfish 10/10 Went again 6/25/24 it was only 2 other guys outside at the bar, I was on the phone waiting for my food. So this is my first time coming to this restaurant. There was no one that greeted you They didn t have any menus available at the table We had to go and find someone Then we were told that someone was coming By this older lady with blonde hair No one came ..We sat there for 5 almost 10 minutes. We were looking for somewhere to spend a few hours on a recent Friday evening when Google maps suggested this place. From the outside it looks like a rundown shack and the inside kinda confirms the first impression. We navigate some potholes as we drive into the parking area, walk up some rickety steps and push open a squeaky door. The door slams behind us with a wall shaking thump. There is a hostess table on the left with no hostess there - it is not THAT kind of a place. There are about ten or so tables in the sitting area, beyond which theres a stage with a four-man band playing blues. Beyond the sitting area is a pony wall, beyond which theres a long bar with high stools. There are a few TVs mounted in the wall showing sports. Outside, on the other side, is a porch with another bar and more tables. As we sit at a table inside, a waiter approaches with the menus. The prices are really good. We order some beer, and the 18-wings-for-20-bucks item with some fries on the side. The food takes its time but we are not in a hurry - the band is very good and the music is interesting. The crowd is on the older side - most of the patrons appear to be in their golden years or approaching it - and they are all enjoying the music immensely. The food finally arrives and the wings are delicious. The wings are perfectly crunchy and saucy at the same time. The fries are also perfect. The waiter keeps an eye on the table but mostly leaves us alone to enjoy the food and music. We enjoy ourselves for a couple of hours before it was time to leave. The final cost was about $40 for two people, with taxes and tips.

I go here regularly, the food is awesome! Always well seasoned, hot, and tasty. They have pub style tables and ample deck with seating and billard table. Its a double-sided full bar with a nightly drink and food specials. Tuesday is steak night with live band. My favorite night is what I like to call THREE MEAT THURSDAY: a massive plate of ribs, sausage, and brisket. I recommend you try it. I absolutely LOVE this place! The steak, the hot wings, the meatloaf, fried pickles, Boudin balls, etc. it is all soooo tasty everytime! We just stopped in here for a quick lunch. Staff was friendly, food came out quickly, and bloody mary was good. The prices were good. 31 bucks for a bowl of chili, a cheeseburger and tots, and 2 bloody marys. Food was pretty good the chili was the bomb. I went with my friend the other day and we got couple of drinks without even realizing there was not a drink menu with prices just when we checked the bill at the end realized that we paid almost $70 for 8 beers. We came over because of the Ribeye special which is $20 per Ribeye -including sides like potato and salad (food was not bad) but the problem is that they overcharge for drinks without letting you know nor even have a liquor menu with prices; our mistake!!! We assume it would be just regular prices as many bars in the area. But NO! It wasnt! Reg. domestic beers almost $5 and imported beers almost $8. So we ended up paying a lot for a couple of beers than the food itself. Now we understand why their menu only has prices for food but not for drinks; which makes them dishonest. The hideaway On Dunvale is a no frills place that you can go with your friends to eat and hangout. It s laid back and they offer a bar section you can sit at comfortably with someone or by yourself. There are TV s at the top of the bar that you can watch to entertain yourself. There is also a variety of alcoholic drinks you can choose from. On the other side of the restaurant there are high tables and regular tables. The interior is stapled with 1 dollar bills and a stage at the front. We ordered the steak with potato on the side and salad. All were great and a great portion, just for $20 each plate!!!! This deal is only on Tuesdays so take advantage of this , definitely recommend

First time to dine at The Hideaway. My niece, Rin, introduced us to this establishment. We were not disappointed. So I stay down the road from this spot started to get to like it with the steak night and the blues bands. But I come in there today, and its 104 degrees outside. I order a bourbon and Coke and sit by myself. While just keeping to myself the bartender comes up to me and lets me know Im not allowed to vape inside. Mind you I have already asked multiple times and never has it been a problem. I use a small pod that is salt nic. I barely puts out any vapor at. Not one customer complained. But the miserable wench behind the bar told me I had to go outside in the 104 degree weather to use it. I left a tip even though I shouldnt have. What a miserable worthless human being to try to knock me off my vibe it had never been a problem even from the employees to a full bar of people. This is the last time I go there. Also if you go on steak night. Check your steak. I had got one that they forgot to cook evenly and got a bit of food poisoning from it

If I could give this place a negative 10 stars I would. DO NOT GO HERE!! Especially if you are black not the first time I ve been here and not the only time I felt unwanted here. Very roadhouse dive bar. Bartender was on his own but was OUTSTANDING!! Food was good, beer was cold, crowd was chill. Vegetarian options: I was surprised by the vegetarian quesadillas. I was sure I was going to have to get something and hand pick the meat out of it. Well done.

Had alot of good times here a few years back ... But Im sure of one thing, the food wont change much and neither will atmosphere. Although the specialis have changed a bit, Im looking forward to trying it again. Now its just bigger and better from what I understand. 1 thing I know for sure is... the atmosphere, the steaks, the good times and great drinks probably havent changed at all. Theres usually plenty of parking until steak night happens and then you will probably have a little bit of a problem finding a parking spot. So go early.

Something of a dive, but offers a 20$ Ribeye with baked potato and a salad every Tuesday. Also, theg have live jazz that day and pretty good crayfish in season.

Everything about this place is fantastic though from first glance you wouldnt expect it to be this good. A hidden gem of a restaurant, no wonder its called the Hideaway! Parking: The only thing you should watch out for is there are a few potholes there but other than that, there seems to be a decent amount of space to park.

Ive been coming here for a couple years now occasionally, and tried pretty much everything on the menu at some point or another. Stand out dish on the menu for me, best restaurant or bar chili Ive had in years. Great staff with low turnover so they remember regulars. Patio is giagantic compared to most options in the area, plus dog friendly on the patio. Lots of seating inside, TVs inside and out. Huge parking lot that even on SUPER busy nights like when the Astros World Series games were on was a little over half full. Long and shallow sloped wheelchair ramp wraps around two sides of the building to access patio and rear entrance. Im not sure I could wheel myself up in a wheelchair, but it would be extremely easy to push someone up in one or use an electric chair or scooter.

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!! crawfish wasn t good at all. very disappointed in this place & their service. The waiter had a terrible attitude & kept ignoring our requests. if i could rate this 0 stars, i would. definitely save your money & do not come here. it was my first time & never again will i come back!!

Just some dingy bar. I swear that even the coke tastes like alcohol. I came around this area searching for a live band and ended up here like a lost dog. This place seems full of people that have never seen a good time. I didnt try the food but I wouldnt trust it based on the atmosphere.

First time there & last time it was a wait for the food I originally wanted chicken wing & fries but the waitress said they was out of chicken wings to find out that wasnt true so I had to pick the sampler & fried mushroom both was nasty with too much corn meal batter on mushrooms, shrimp & onion rings

Well, damn! I will say without shame, this is the best steak I have ever had. Period... I ordered medium, and I wanted to scream I was not disappointed. Juicy with a nice sear. No additives are needed. I mean salt pepper even steak sauce... I will definitely be a regular. Theres a daily special so have a open mind and enjoy...

I usually come to the Hideaway on Tuesday night to have a steak. Its 20$ for a REAL 16 oz ribeye with a baked potato and a side salad. Unlike other places (The Deck) that serve beans and pico de gallo with a piece of HORSE MEAT youll get your money worth here. The steaks at the Deck SUCK!! AND SO DOES THE COOK!!
