They were having great live music and a cool projector was playing a video like the AI generated stuff in the Linkin Park new music videos style it was honestly nice even though I wasnt there long and didnt have food or drink good vibes

Good music. The place was full on a Saturday night but we found a table. Unfortunately I received the most sour, not good mojito I ve ever had, so we left quickly. Service : 4/5

We stopped off on our way home for the neighborhood bar and had a great time. Overall, its a nice place. They do withhold a $25 deposit on your card, though. It had a cool upscale bar feeling. I will go again.

I had michelada, was served with ice I ordered a second one without ice and it was good. Good atmosphere, but karaoke night is pretty loud to have a conversation with the person next you .

Decided to come out on a Tuesday night and they just so happened to be having an EDM night with multiple DJs. really hope its something they do regularly as its something you dont really get to experience on this side of town. staff was friendly and all of those in attendance were dancing all night! good was great as well!

Just curious if they have improved security and installed cameras. The old Shakespeare Pub had become very dangerous. It looks like you are attracting a much higher class of people than the old Shakespeare Pub.

I went with my husband for flamenco night on Valentine s Day. Food was ok, service ok too. Our waitress ( she looks Asian) since not interested on working there, she was lazy and did not wanted to served any table, the other poor waitress was taking care of all the tables even ours because our waitress was busy doing nothing, l wish they can fire her and replace her to improve the service. Otherwise it would have been a much better experience because the place is nice and have a good vibe.

Fantastic venue and helpful staff. A bit dressier than average. Small parking lot attached. No cover charge. Provides a mix of live music including R&B. Has a decent-sized dance floor. Lovely new owner. This was the old Shakespeares Pub but has been totally remodeled. Older, fun crowd. Small outside patio.

I have been going to this bar every weekend for the past three weeks. The server that me and my wife usually get is outstanding! But I did attend to mix it up alittle by sitting at the bar my last visit. There was a young Hispanic lady that was bartending that night. I had ordered a few drinks with my friend the bartender then started harassing me and my friend telling us that we weren t from around there and that she s never seen me there before. She then proceeded to keep asking us where we were from. I then mentioned where I lived and I was called a liar and was threatened that my info was on computer and she could pull it up to see where I lived. I would like to think that everyone is welcome here . But from my impression of last visit is if you you re not from that zip code you re not allowed there. This will be my last visit to this bar. It is a shame that one person can ruin a whole business.

Loved Monarch s vibe. I visited from NYC and my how lovely this establishment presented itself. Music volume, cleanliness, waitstaff, and my carrot cake and sangria were FANTASTIC!! Definitely returning. Thank you for a wonderful time.

Great classic rock band Cover Story plays here on Wednesdays. Food was great! Beef kabobs were very tender and tasty. We also had the Sampler plate with 1 empanada, 2 egg rolls, and 3 dumplings. Hummus was very light and refreshing. Light show in front of stage was fun as was large screen videos behind the band.

This used to be a dive bar called Shakespeare s. It s tucked away in a small strip center behind a Kolache Factory (which used to be a Taco Bell years ago). I love the parking right near the door, the remodel is an open concept with better lighting, the service is great and the prices are decent. They had live music the night I went (a Friday night). There s a large screen behind the band that plays music videos. There s bar seating, high top tables, booths and regular table seating available. One group had a child with them, so I believe it s family friendly, but call to be sure. They also offer a covered patio with nice cushioned outdoor furniture. It really was a shock to see how well they revamped this place. There s lots of velvet in the bar. The seats are velvet and the curtains are velvet, but it s done tastefully. I love the convenience to home and I felt safe there. They give you a small plate of chips and salsa to start. The menu is fairly large for a bar. The chicken Marsala was delicious and the portions are big. I will definitely be back.

Im giving Monarch 5 stars because how great Rose was. Love the atmosphere, If you want a great waitress ask for Rose. She was awesome and so friendly! When we go back we will definitely ask for her. Music is a little to loud to hear one another. Drinks could be better.. But other than that it was great.

There is a new hot spot in Memorial! For those who frequented The Shakespeare Pub for years, you will not recognize it. The dingy dive bar is no where to be found. I would not call this a face-lift. This is an Extreme Make-over! We now have an open concept with great vibes and Neon Chic! I arrived late night, but the crowd was friendly. The cocktails were crafted well. The band, PA Saaz, was super groovy & fun for dancing! There also is a warm & bright patio with plenty of seating. I am thrilled to have this little night club in my neighborhood & look forward to more fun. If going early, reservations are recommended.

I surprised my wife by taking her to the Monarch Bar last night and we had an amazing time. The performer that played last night was amazing and it made for the most fun experience. I would highly recommend going here if you re looking for a fun night out with live entertainment.

The atmosphere is Great. Drinks are well made you definitely get your moneys worth. There was a band tonight they were superb. The only complaint would be the music is a bit to loud to hear one another. The bands name is Music Box Band that played tonight. I think they just need to lower it a tad bit. Kitchen isnt open yet should be open in a few more weeks. The crowd is a mixture of young adults and middle age. But its a great neighborhood upscale bar without you having to drive all the way downtown.

Monarch Bar hosted my favorite band, Kim Foushee and the Alliance, last Saturday night. THIS is the perfect upscale venue for a great entertaining band. Great dancefloor, great backdrop that heightens the experience of a performance band. Im looking forward to seeing Kim Foushee and the Alliance again at Monarch Bar on Memorial.
