Not a bad park for a quiet walk. The trails are marked fairly well but there s no distance associated. Bring good shoes as it s a rugged path and muddy after rain.

Used to be one of my favorite spots in the San Antonio area, but they recently changed the hours to 8am to 5pm (used to be sunrise to sunset). Good luck finding the time to make it out there after work I guess . Update: Looks like they changed it back to sunrise to sunset. Still gorgeous and beautiful views from the crest of the Jon Allen trail

It was closed when I went at 7:30pm on Monday (8/7/23). It said open until sunset which was 8:21 so I m not sure why it was closed. Anyone know the open hours? Or is there another entrance other than the one on Menchaca?

Peaceful nature trail that is pet friendly and provided scenic overlooks. The drive to the nature area is scenic and not too far from Boerne or San Antonio. We enjoyed our hike and would recommend the trail.

Very enjoyable park for an afternoon walk. There were several trails well marked and maintained. There were a few alcoves with benches to relax and birdwatch. Texas native plants abound. A meadow was being restored so plantings were sparse. One of the cleanest, well maintained park I have been to in San Antonio!

Photographers should be charged a fee to use as a photo-op. To contribute to the maintenance of the park. Benefit both the scenery and the Park itself. Like a 10 dollar fee, they literally go there once a week.

I take my clients here for photo shoots. This place is such a beautiful gateway from the city. And the visitors who frequent the park truly care about it as I have not seen much if any liter. If you visit this park please take care of it. It truly is beautiful! @LizaMPhotography

Secluded and peaceful. Unpaved paths. Very natural. Slight incline to moderate incline in the wooded areas. Shorter paths. Beautiful Creek beds and overlook at the cottage. The entrance is tucked between two properties, so keep your eye out for it on the right.

Beautiful area! Would love to have the map give trail distance. The map could also have more quantitative description of trails than just easy or moderate. Lovely pavilion. Clean port-a-potty.
