Not authentic enough. It s pricey which I wouldn t mind if the food was special, but it wasn t. I guess they have adjusted the flavors to the local taste buds somewhat. Thai food is famous for having bold and exotic flavors but not here. It was just too bland for us.

Lovely place! Great food. Awesome service. Our waiter was very patient with us despite us not knowing what we wanted. Did not catch the gentleman s name, but many thanks! Been to lil ritas a handful of times and it is always a pleasant experience!

Delicious panang curry. Pad thai was awesome. Thai tea is also very well made. Very polite service but not the fastest. It is worth the wait, however. Portions are not the biggest, but again, they are worth it. Very homemade Thai.

My wife had eaten there before. I ve never eaten from there; ordered pick up. The inside was interesting to say the least. Lady I met there was very nice. I ordered the Tiger Cried spicy. Great flavor and spice did not take away from the enjoyment. My wife ordered the Pad Pack mild with tofu. She added a little of the spice included on the side and said it made it better. Tried a bite of hers and it was delicious. I will be going for a sit down. Limited hours but highly recommended meal. Vegetarian options: Tofu is a protein option for most plates.

Was very disappointed with the food. Maybe because I am comparing to big city Thai restaurants, it lacked flavor. Had the curry and with chicken and potato only, one ingredient apart from chicken. Usually, I have curry with at least 3 additional ingredients. I also got charged $2 or $1 for a little more of rice. Thai tea was so watered down, just lost of sugar tasted like water and sugar. Remindes me of when I lost taste with COVID No flavor. Spring rolls were not good at all either. This place is so expensive, $31 for one person. I personally would never go in again.

Arguably the best authentic Thai restaurant in the valley. I lived in Thailand, and this is about as close as you can get from southern TX to the real thing. Don t expect any mexicanization of this eat it as it was designed to be Thai food. Been here many times and It never disappoints. Gang keow wan eggplant, green curry and coconut milk. It s the bomb!

We got the pad Thai and the pineapple curry. And a Thai tea of course. The flavor of everything was amazing! But we won t be back because the portions simply ARE NOT worth the price. The tiniest portions I ever seen and they asked if I wanted to add a side of rice for an up charge and it was so tiny! $40 for two small plates and one drink

Absolutely everything Ive had there has been delicious. I look for an excuse to make the 30+ minute drive to go eat there. If youve never had Thai food then the wait staff can point you to a dish you should like. If someone in your party just cant handle anything odd, they do have a burger on the menu. Snack and cozy, though it may not be the best place to bring kids. Check the hours, its mostly lunch and dinner 3 nights a week, closed on weekends. So good, a must visit if youre in Harlingen.

Spat the few pices out I did eat of beef. Would have said something, but staff where not paying attention and I had to eat and get back to work. Wont come back.

What a great local restaurant for Thai food! Its a truly authentic flavor. The moment you step in the door you can smell the wonderful aroma of spices and it builds your anticipation for whatever dish youre soon to enjoy. Its a popular place so have patience and just take in the experience and really savor the flavor. It may take some time to get in, but the experience is definitely worth the wait.

Lil Ritas is a Harlingen institution. Easily the best thai food in town. I finally picked up some pad thai after over a year and it was just as good as I remember. Im very glad they were able to adapt and survive through covid and the pick-up process was so easy Im definitely going to be swinging by more often.

Very nice staff member who answered phone for take-out. Got 4 meals through take-out. Pad Thai s only veg/fruit was a lime wedge and very thickly shredded carrots - no cilantro, green onion, or hot peppers on the side. The yellow curry was white colored w only potatoes and no spice or seasoning, except salt. Mild shouldn t mean no taste. The green curries (one med, one spicy) were better and we appreciated the ample eggplant and spice levels, but eggplant was the only noticeable veggie. All three curries were in small containers. The food wasn t worth the price, but it wasn t horrible. It was edible. We ate here about a year ago and it was much better then. Unsure if they had a different cook on the day we came. Will try again and hopefully the food will have improved.

Best Thai in Texas, made from scratch literally in the kitchen of an old house. Ignore the reviews on here from people who dont understand thai food or know how fish sauce works. I frequent Thai restaurants ranging from New York to LA including the legendary Wild Thaiger in Phoenix, and Lil Ritas is right up there. People dont know how lucky they are to have access to a place like this, in Harlingen of all places.
