I am not a local here but I have family here and this is the go to spot for breakfast when we visit. I honestly didnt use to like it but recently my mother said I should try it again. We came more than once and I would recommend anyone stopping by to give it a try. Im The Few times we came I tried a small menudo which was AMAZING! Also their tacos are pretty huge! I ordered small ones though so make sure to be specific on the size you want. My daughter is picky and had a small fideo soup and she loves it now. The barbacoa is also tasty. We all tried the breakfast items which were all good the only thing I did notice one of the times we came was the amount of scrambled eggs that was put in the chicharon con huevo plate, I think it could have used more. I do remember in the past when I would come that was a thing they had done to me as well. Other than that the service was great! The coffee is good. Would definitely recommend as far as breakfast goes. I have not tried lunch or dinner items. Thank you for great service and great food! Kid-friendliness: I dont think you can go wrong with the fideo if you have a picky eater.

This is our familys favorite breakfast spot!! The food is amazing!!!! It reminds me of breakfast at my grandmas on the weekends. The barbacoa and menudo are THE BEST we have ever had at a restaurant.

The first time I was told about this place it was really good, I usually try it out at least once when I come down to Harlingen from Houston, but this last time we went it was ok! It wasnt the same as before! Maybe different cooks! Sometimes places are a hit or miss! Plus its hard to stay consistent!

Ive grown up in the Harlingen area my whole life and this is the first time I come to this place and lemme tell you... This place is just wow. Their flour tortillas just melt in your mouth and the food/prices are . You wont be disappointed coming here.

Well, I like to say that when I went to the restroom and they didnt have a toliet seat and still had the restroom open for public use, I should have ran and left. But I wanted to give this place a chance. When we ordered, we my husband and I ordered the fajitas plate. When they brought us our food. The fajitas were just a piece of meat and no onion or bell peppers, and we had to cut our own meat. I asked what the plate was she the waitress said that that was fajitas. I just laughed. I ordered avocado, and they brought me a cut-up avocado and some Pico de gallo on the side. I guess it was supposed to be guacamole it was $6.00 that I had to make myself. The waitress never came to our table to ask if we were ok. The beans tasted like if they were spolied. Its just gross. She never gave us our ticket. We had to go to the counter to get it to pay. The food sucked the server sucked. We will never ever eat here again the worst place in Harlingen to eat. Save your money and find a real place that has better customer service and better food. I posted a picture of my fajitas plate. its such a joke to say those are fajitas.

Restaurant was clean. The service was horrible. We waited over 15 minutes for our breakfast and there was only two other tables there so it wasnt busy. I ordered a breakfast taco it was huge but the beans were cold. The small bowl of menúdo was good and hot. My husband ordered huevos rancheros sunny side up and they brought over easy and they were full of sauce which was very watery. My husband had to ask for a coffee refill then he had to get up and get some more coffee. The waitresses stay behind the lattice behind the counter. It just was terrible service altogether.

Best breakfast tacos I ve ever had. So good, I didn t even get a picture. We are driving back to SA from SPI and grabbed a to go order of chorizo and egg, potato, egg and cheese, bacon and egg and chorizo and potato! The tacos are huge for being small tacos. Homemade tortillas! Los Cuates are a must! Restaurant is super clean and owners are very friendly.

This was my first visit, so it s difficult to rate a place based on one visit but on this visit. The delivery of the meals can be improved. Some meals are large while others are small consistency can be worked on but overall it s a good place to eat a decent meal for an okay price.

Myself and 3 other family members came for lunch. It was not busy. Our food took a while to come out and we all got our plates 10 minutes from eachother rather than at the same time. I had the flauta plate and it was not good. The fried tortilla was extra crispy and the chicken was extra dry, no flavor, and tasted old/reheated. We came because it had 4.6 stars but from this experience Id give it a 2 overall.

The specials arent specials look at the menu carefully, any variation in your order will cost more and therefore it wont be the special anymore. you will be charged your drink. Example bistek tacos, waitress ask would you like Alvacado, and cheese? At the end she says the specials dont include alv/queso. I asked why she didnt tell us when we ordered and she , rudely told me you didnt ask? The 7.99 special came out to 12.99 each person. Wheelchair accessibility: None

Nothing too crazy. Food was good but, not a place I rave about. Good place to go for a quick lunch though. You get your food, you eat and you leave. Not much waitressing, which made it hard to have order corrected and no one asking if wed like refills. Try them out but dont have high expectations and youll be good.

We frequent this establishment about almost every Friday morning. Its a small place (seats about 44 max.), but what it lacks in space, it makes up for in quality and consistency. We have not had a bad experience since we started coming here for our friday morning breakfasts. We appreciate their fast service, friendly staff and their willingness to take care of our requests.

Their sweet tea was sooo delicious! Almost like a hint of mango undertone or a faint tamarind infused tea flavor; fresh brewed daily according to our server. Rice & mashed beans were very good!! The pork chops were tasty & properly seasoned but cooked on a high heat skillet so a little chewy. Not a big deal as they were lean so made for perfect diet food. The beef & chicken fajitas were good! Also tried a breakfast taco: chicharrón w/egg. It was very good & comes piping hot. Picadillo had a very unique Americanized flavor not particularly of RGV/Mex origin. It had more of a big city flair, like is found in San Antonio/larger cities across US where authentic Mexican food restaurants can be hard to find at times. Overall, very happy. Will be going back!!
