This place is great! Concierge was very polite and very nice. Breakfast was delicious even if you re late you still can get coffee and a little snack. I ve stayed three times and always great. Rooms: The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Safety: I traveled alone and I was very safe.

We come to Harlingen every 3 months. Since finding this place its the place we stay. The staff is very professional from Clarissa,Caleb,Amy,Debbie. and all the housekeeping and maintenance. I have stayed at the hotel for more than 2 months, I hope my review is helpful for you guys. This is a great hotel. The staff is very friendly and kind. The hotel is pet friendly and the rooms are big enough for the dog to move around in. The location of hotel is great; you are close to highway and entrance ramps are just as close so you can get on and drive off. The area where hotel is located at is safe. It is has ample parking that is very well lit. Next to the hotel is a big area of grass, which if you have pets works great to walk them. The hotel has breakfast & happy hour, but close to the hotel are also many restaurants to choose from as well. Nearby activities: Close by there is bowling alley, pool hall. Movie theater, mall (it s dead tho), Walmart, Target and other shopping stores are a short drive away. Also a park walking trail is a few streets down. Safety: The area where hotel is at is safe. It has ample parking that is very well lit. The area where the hotel is located is a neighborhood. There are apartments and houses, but that isn t an issue because it is a very peaceful and quiet environment. Food and drinks: The hotel provides breakfast & happy hour also. Great food Noteworthy details: I would also like to mention that if you have medical emergencies you are close to 2 hospitals and Urgent Cares. Ed Carey Drive is basically Harlingens Medical area so if you traveling with a medical issue this hotel is a good choice.

Amended 05/29/24 - see bottom of review. Located right off 77. Not to far of a drive to the beach, South Padre. We have stayed here several times because we have dogs The breakfast is very good with a hot selection. Parking is convenient. Pool is nice. Staff is friendly BUT uncaring. We were here, unfortunately, for our minds funeral. When I mentioned this, hoping for a possible discounted rate (fair they didnt have one) I was provide a reason because of online booking. I was devastated that there was no sympathetic reaction or apologies for no rate. Just a short, simple, No, you booked online So DO NOT expect staff to care about you or your reason (vacation, business, family) just sleep here and go. If courtesy or kindness means little to you, this place is great. Enjoy your time in Harlingen, Texas. *addendum - thank you for the response. Actually still in the hotel tonight and leaving tomorrow. The reservation is under my wifes name (her last name is hyphenated with my last name). I appreciate the sentiment and wish the staff provided those words when we arrived and were inquiring about the discount. I understand about the online booking. Appreciate the explanation. * amended - came back to the hotel. We said we would. It is very nice with breakfast on the weekends, happy hour during the week. The updated pool cabana is very nice. This is always my home away from home. The entire staff Clarissa, Caleb, and Amy ( and night staff i dont know all their names because I deal more with day staff) at the front desk but they are the most courteous people you will ever come across. They all go above and beyond to make sure your stay is as comfortable as possible. Breakfast is always fresh and delicious. So i normally do not ever do this, BUT when i tell you i have never felt so unwelcome in my life i truly mean it. The front desk lady i believe she has black hair was so sweet and kind, she checked me in. While the general manager Clarissa or i think it was her she had blonde gray hair she was working morning shift friday, extended my stay till sunday and gave me the most dirtiest eye roll and stare ever. Like i made her upset i had to extend. They told me i couldnt extend on my original 1 night reservation that i had to call my manager and make a new one just for the (clarissa) gm to cancel it and extend me on the original reservation. I m very thankful for my boss but when I had to wake my boss up for literally nothing when she cancelled it was mind boggling. Honestly, I dont know if its because i was on an employee discount rate or because i asked for the first floor? Which she made seem was handicapped and rm 112 does not look like that at all. What was on the website for choice to let me use for the employee discount is what i got if she didnt want me to use her hotel she should have just said that or called me and i would have canceled. Me as working front desk i would not ever to think to treat any of my guests the way she did. Not to mention when she had to extend my key, she made a loud annoyance sound with the card and handed it to me on the table. We were only 2 people just me and my husband, we ate once, didnt use the pool, and were quiet just needed a place to sleep. PROS: Clean room, Great Breakfast! The housekeepers are amazing at keeping the hotel spotless because thats what it was. I stripped the bed for them as well. Just truly disappointed that i got treated so harsh when i came all the way from Louisiana. I will not ever stay here again, so dont worry. To future choice employees just be careful. Rooms: Clean, fresh, spotless rooms! Comfy beds!

Not only do they have breakfast included, but they also have happy hour 5-7pm 2 free drinks and snacks. First night was tacos. The room is very nice and you can text staff with questions and get answers without leaving your room. Right by a highway, but it was very quiet and they have added blackout shades. I slept great!

We came for a funeral decided while here might as well stay for a week. See below for entire review. It s just hidden The bad While here wife had numerous issues with cleaning staff not doing their job. Multiple times only one bed was made. No one vacuumed. Once the towels weren t replaced. At first we found one small roach wasn t a big issue we understand with this weather and this area of Texas it sometimes happens. But the fact They weren t cleaning the room properly made us nervous that the bugs could be worse than what we saw. It s so bad we deciding factor to cut our trip a day short. But since wife paid with third party no refund allowed. A hotel this size should have better wifi. The wifi was so bad we just used our phone data and when watching tv was limited to cable due to Netflix freezing because of how slow wifi was. The good Breakfast was nice and boys loved it. (The cookies were their favorite) Security while I didn t see them we also didn t see anyone of a non trustworthy nature walking around the parking lot. But we did find our door left I closed correctly once after cleaning ladies went thru The pool was great a little small at times (kids like the pool and it was the 4th of July weekend) so that was a major plus. The beds had the potential to be comfortable they gave 4 pillows per bed so not an issue there usually we travel with pillows because of this. The location was good too. Half way between Brownsville, south padre and McAllen. We have family in all three. Overall this would / could have been a great stay but the bugs and lack of cleaning tarnished it. Please fix this. I am military so I don t expect much when staying in hotels but when traveling with my family I want them to be comfortable and clean.

There was a bug in the room. The King Suite ROOM was extremely small and the furniture was very old and worn. When we first entered the room, there was hair in the toilet bowl. There is a very bad air conditioner smell in the room. There was a smell like burnt plastic and when I opened the window it was not even possible to talk on the phone because of the noise on the highway. Honestly I dont want to come again.

When they gave me the room and I opened the door, it was not cleaned, I had to return to the reception to have it changed and I did not know that it was a pet-friendly hotel and there was a dog barking. Fortunately, it stopped barking an hour later and I was able to sleep but the doors The shower bathroom is very hard, I think some things lack maintenance.

This is a really nice place to stay in Harlingen I cant wait to come back. Only issue i had was the restroom sink every time I washed my hands they would touch the back of the sink and im not a fan of that and hopefully the hot tub will be up and running by the time im come back other than that the hotel smells so good on all the floors ,lobby and room and the staff is so nice and this place is pet friendly def an 8 out of 10. Rooms: The room we had was great it had a mini living room with its own TV and the bed room had its own TV and was separated from the living space. Food and drinks: There is a free breakfast which most hotels have stopped doing since covid so that was a nice refresher.

I am disappointed in this place. Every time I am in town, this is my 1st choice. I have been staying here for 6 years when not staying on the island. When I was there back in mid December, I was really excited that they finally re did their hot tub. It was not open yet, I think waiting on a part or something. Fast forward to now. Our room was not ready upon check in. I was slightly annoyed, but that was just because we were extremely tired from a 13 hr drive. 10 mins later room was ready. Walked into our room and put things down and went to use the bathroom and our toilet has not been cleaned. There was pee all over the seat. My wife was like we need to have them come back. I said no, I am over it. I cleaned it myself. This is why I always carry lysol wipes with me. As mentioned above about hot tub.. 3 months later and it is still not working. There was a large family there, they pretty dominated everything. The breakfast lounge, pool, grills. It wasnt that bad, the facilities are just not capable of hosting a large group like that. The family when we went to the pool seemed nice enough, they gave up 2 lounge chairs for us, which we appreciated. Breakfast was good as usual, just wished they would add a 2nd waffle maker. This place will no longer be my 1st choice. We will be trying out another place when we are back down next month.

We are from out of town and we re clueless on where it stay . This hotel was a great choice, clean and smells the best all the time- the beds were comfortable and pillows , in room coffee pot, hot water , decent complimentary breakfast, great Otis Spunkmeyer cookies all day and coffee! The staff was nice even when we didn t even check in until close to 1am, we still had the room we requested. It s a decent location, we felt safe, it was quiet at night.

The stay here was okay. The shower was clogged but it wasn t too bad. I m really just upset about staff coming into the room while I was still there. I was packing my stuff to leave about an hour before check out. I hear some people at the door but think it s for the room next door, they knocked once and before I could even open the door myself to check, 2 employees are trying to come inside. As someone who was staying there alone that was so scary to me. I think it was a housekeeper and the male attendant at the front. They didn t try to explain anything to me she just said I was fine and that was about it. I continued to pack my things and left to check out about 10-15 minutes later. The man was at the front, was texting for a minute before acknowledging me and didn t say anything about the situation that just happened. I can understand if there was some kind of misunderstanding but as a single women staying there alone that was terrifying and there was no explanation. What if I was in the shower. I would think they d have a system in place to see who has or hasn t checked out yet. Or at least wait to let me get to the door.

We have stayed repeatedly at this hotel. Its location is perfect for going to the Island, or if you want to go to the Brownsville Zoo. Breakfast is good, with egg, sausage, oatmeal, cereals, waffles, yogurt, coffee, milk, juices, sweet bread. Impeccable frontdesk service. Noteworthy details: It is one of the few hotels that does not smell of cigarettes in the hallways or rooms.

My wife and I were traveling to South Texas to visit family and we decided to use PriceLine to book a room. Priceline was offering a mystery deal for a three star hotel in a local radius in Harlingen. We booked the room and it turned out Country Inn was the choice for the night. We arrived at the hotel and observed it was at a good location by the highway. We proceeded inside and was greeted by the night clerk. She was cordial and the lobby appeared to be clean. Priceline gave us two Queen sized beds, so my wife asked the clerk if we could upgrade to a King size bed and she pretended to check. She told us that there were not any King rooms available at that time. The parking lot was not busy and I looked at my wife because we both knew that she wasn t being truthful. We let it go and proceeded to our room. We arrived on the second floor through the old elevator and observed the hallway was stifling hot. I looked at the appearance of the rooms and they badly needed a paint job. We proceeded into our room and my wife checked it. Housekeeping had not cleaned the bathroom completely and there were still hair on the sink counter. I looked at the coffee pot and observed it was old fashioned and not a Keurig like most modern hotels. The bed was decent but compared to other places we have stayed at, it was acceptable. The next morning, my wife and I proceeded down to breakfast. The hotel offered powdered eggs, sausage, potatoes, cereal, waffles, and yogurt etc. The eggs were acceptable and the yogurt tasted like it came from a large container and not something you expect from a three star hotel. During checkout the morning clerk was polite and welcoming. It was nice to speak to an employee that wanted to be there. I checked the original prices for this three star hotel and if i would have paid $116 dollars a night, I would have been upset. There is no way this is a three-star hotel after seeing the many updates that this place needs. The good thing about this place is that we checked the reviews and a previous guest stated they saw roaches in their room. We didn t see any roaches, but we would not stay at this place again or any Country Inn. I don t recommend this place for travelers to stay that way a great three star experience.

After hearing about roaches in one of my colleagues room I was thankful to not have seen one until last night in the restroom. I killed it and flushed it down the toilet. The WiFi at this place is awful. If you trying to log on with your phone, Netflix, or laptop, you are always getting cut off. ROACHES EVERYWHERE!!! We chose Country Inn & Suites based on the reviews, but unfortunately, our stay was very unpleasant. The rooms, at a glance, seem okay. However, shortly after checking in, we saw roaches crawling on the walls and even in the shower. The vents in the bathroom were rusty and nasty looking. The blanket was discolored, ripped, and ragged. I was scared to sleep on the pillows because of the roaches. I felt the need to sanitize the pillows before sleeping on them. The dryer cost was $2.50, and I only had $2.00 in change. I went to the front desk and let the male attendant know there were roaches in my room, and I needed to purchase two bottles of water to get cash back to use the dryer for my pillows. He showed no care for my concerns; he did not even apologize. Instead, he charged me a $1.00 cashback fee to get only a $1.00 cash back ($2.00 for $1.00 in change). That was not all; the AC in the room did not work efficiently, would not cool the room, and was deafening compared to any other AC unit. In addition, when the occupants upstairs used the bathroom during the night, the sound of the water was bothersome. I am lucky that our stay was only two nights. I hope management looks into this matter and trains the staff to be more courteous.

Stayed for date night with my husband. Its been remodeled since weve stayed last. Kinda disappointed that the hot tub is no longer there. The faucet for the jacuzzi was loose so water kinda sprayed out of places it shouldnt. The jets werent powerful enough for my liking and the floor of the jacuzzi and shower need to be resurfaced because I almost fell in both. The room was clean, the water was hot and soft, the ac worked amazingly! I love how big the room is! I would definitely stay here again if I have the chance!

THIS HOTEL IS NOT SAFE!! The morning we were checking out I went back to my room and as I was putting my key in my closed door a man opened the door and walked out. Said he was checking if I had left. Absolutely horrifying. I was completely scared and the front desk defended this. DO NOT STAY HERE!!

I travel for business weekly first time here not a bad place. Would have been nice to have been informed cant use business center or work in the lounge area due to being rented out. Kind of nice to work and relax downstairs in a public atmosphere.

Room 308 had no hot water in the shower. Hotel had hot water, just bad plumbing. Killed a bug on bathroom floor. Had a bunch of road noise, its right off the expressway. I wouldnt stay here again

Hotel was nice. Room smelled like mildew really bad. Had to have tub fixed cause it wouldnt drain. Phone didnt work in the room. Housekeeping skipped our room one day due to shortage of housekeepers.

Great lobby and dining area but that is deceptive! The room HVAC was horrible, room was very humid and uncomfortable. The hotel must know this is an issue since they actually put a dehumidifier in the room (that did not work). The tub did not drain, refrigerator had 2 settings, freeze or Off! The breakfast was ok, bacon was paper thin and appeared to be microwaved and eggs were watery imitation eggs. We will be seeking another hotel when staying in the RGV area. Very disappointed in property and management. Stay somewhere else!

Got to the hotel got checked in and went to the room and it was dirty with clothes everywhere and bed not made, brought it up to the receptionist and the hotel was completely booked. Got a refund but every other hotel I called was booked.

Very friendly staff. They allowed my 5 young grandchildren to visit everyday for 2 weeks to enjoy the pool. The lady at the Starbucks located in the lobby was excellent. We got hot chocolate every night. She was so friendly. My 7 year old grandson even told her that she does a really good job making the hot chocolate. Price for the room was really good and they allow pets

Love it here, safe and clean..best breakfast ive ever had in a hotel..and coffee 24/7 I seriously thought about getting a $60 - $80 hotels down the street but as soon as i pulled in i was very skeptical about those places and they all had dangerous looking people just hanging around after dark i wouldnt have slept there so please do yourself favor and spend a tad bit more to get a safe and clean room. I spent about an hour driving to all the hotel motels around here they were either too expensive or dangerous looking but i found this one and it looked nice clean and very safe and it was super nice for the price

My husband and I were impressed with the staff at this Country Inn and Suites. Everyone, including the cleaning staff made our visit so pleasant and enjoyable. The rooms were comfortable and roomy and the complimentary breakfast was delicious! If we had more time, we would have enjoyed the pool but time was against us. Thank you for a great stay!

Cleanest place in town for my opinion. Great hot breakfast. Outside pool with a family seating area. Business center with two reading areas. Would definitely stay here again. Make sure to have what you need before arriving here because a trip to the nearest store in about 2 blocks away in any direction with traffic lights. Given all that, great place to settle in after a long day and relax.

It was a nice place to stay (stayed here 2x/7days) until the rudest woman at the counter ruined our business relationship. As Im taking my luggage out to my vehicle she comes out and ask what room Im in. As if Im not a guest there. She then runs my info. On the way down for second trip of luggage carrying she says shes charging my card 50 dollars because of my pet. 1st of all the website didnt mention that. 2nd there was no option for that online at the guest count. 3rd no one else said that about my dog. They saw him with me at check in didnt bring it up. Their website is misleading. They are not pet friendly. Take your business elsewhere.

The hotel was very trashy inside and out when we arrived. There was an unpleasant odor in our room. Had to chase the cleaning service to clean our room late afternoon. The hot water did not work properly. Breakfast was not great, there was not enough food and we had to wait. We were disappointed.

Actually all except for the man at the front I believe his name was James Adams or Adam James something like that unless he lied to me, just think it s an inconvenience that I had to ask for an extra key being that one of mine didn t work of course the room was under my parents So being he would not accommodate me a key even with the proper identification I think it s very wrong and inconvenient to the people having to shop and then have to come back just to get an extra key for there family I worked the maintainence for best Western for three years and we never occurred with this problem, Also no change to for the washer and drying machines was provided and the phones don t even work because of a power outage that didn t happen because I live down the streetSo they really need to get their stuff together.God blessAnd I hope I m compensated for this inconvenience

I stayed five days at Country Inn & Suites in Harlingen, TX. The accommodations were comfortable, although I would have like a small round table in the bedroom to have breakfast. The cleaning was requested as needed and promptly taken care of. There were some issues with noise above us late into the night, which I hoped would be addressed by the management. However, I did not report it as it was loud enough to be heard by everyone in the hotel. The pool was clean and not crowded. Breakfast was wonderful. My mom and I truly enjoyed our stay there.

Overall it was a good stay. It needs a good update. The pool needs to be cleaned. The breakfast was good. The last night we were there the 1st floor smelt of Marijuana.
