The atmosphere was very nice. There was live music that really fit the vibe. The food was great. I had the kebabs, my wife had the lamb chops, and my son had the gyros. I m not sure of what the exact issue was but the kitchen was off tonight. We waited nearly 50 minutes for our food. We even saw one customer leave that was seated before us. The waitress did her best to keep us informed but a manager never came over to apologize. I may be willing to give this place one more try but only because of the waitress. The food was good but not worth the wait vs the price.

My hubby and I went for our anniversary, the atmosphere was very pleasant, food was great, and we had an exceptional server(zima). She actually took the time to explain the menu options being it was our first time there, she suggested the lamb shanks and we were not disappointed. My compliments to the chef because the food was delectable. Id advise to make reservations prior to going. We had such a wonderful time.

I placed to go order for lamb chop plate I asked the lady at front how big the chops were she showed on her hands a nice size for a lamp chop. When I received the plate, the chops were very small, like one small bite each one. For $27, the portions were a rip off. I was truly disappointed. Not only were they tiny chops they were crispy too. I do not recommended getting the lamb chops you do not get your moneys worth at all. Lamb was not enjoyable.

8 years ago we lost a very dear friend, Anna, who often shared her love for her culture in the form of food. She introduced us to dolmathes, and spanikopita, and so many delicious bites. I have missed her zest for life, and her cooking, every day! Tonight, we ate at Acropolis for the first time. Our servers name was Deanna . Every single bite, from first to last was perfect, and nostalgic, and served with so much love. I could not have asked for a better meal, or a better server. Everything was PERFECT. Thank you for doing it all right.

This has been a favorite since they opened. Not today! I brought my team for a wonderful Greek dining experience, instead we received the worst service, we waited patiently for our food and finally found a second waitress to find what happened as tables around us had entered after we ordered, received their food and was paying their bill. When our waitress, Heather, finally came back and delivered our food, she advised that she would be bringing boxes since we are in a hurry. She glared at us and had an attitude when we questioned the fees for bills and charging for the sauce that comes with the meal. She kept the change, since we paid cash. I understand kitchen getting behind, but this was more about poor customer service since the other waitress and her customers had no issues.

I love the food but very unhappy with my server. For some reason I always get the same old lady who seemed to only wanna serve rich people maybe assuming she wont get good tips from those who arent dressed well to her taste. This will be my 4th time to have her and today was it for me. She wasnt happy we only wanted to have water for a drink. Sorry but we prefer ice cold water in this heat. She gave this look when we said we didnt want appetizer. I dont think its bad considering we knew we were ordering big meals. Saw her staring while we were eating like were peasants. Not a stare that is just waiting for a customer to ask for a refill or napkins but a judging stare as if she probably regret being the one to serve us. But she was more pleasant with the other customers wearing church clothes as opposed to us wearing just a shirt and jeans. Out of the 4 times I got served by this older white blonde lady(with glasses), todays experience made us feel like, we were judged based on our appearance. Mind you, the owner, as always, came, greeted us and made sure we were enjoying our meal, dressed in just a shirt and jersey shorts all humble. I will never come back to this place as much as i love the food. And btw, youre welcome for the tip!!! Your treatment to average customers is a disgrace to that business considering u are being paid to serve people. They should move you in the back, all the way in the very back where you get no contact with any paying customers since you are horrible and honestly dont deserve a single penny for a tip!!! I hope the owner sees this and make some changes as it affects your business

I have patronized Acropolis plenty of times. My last visit was quite disappointing. I ordered the hummus and pita and lobster ravioli. I am not sure if there is a new chef, but nothing tasted the same. My hummus flavor was lacking. I noticed a new pasta was used in the lobster ravioli. The lobster ravioli was over saturated with sauce. I could not remember if shrimp was in the dish, but I had one lonely shrimp in the sauce. The flavor of the sauce was different. The hummus used to be in a bigger styrofoam container. I noticed the smaller container and it was not even filled to the top and it was missing the olive. Luckily, the waitress seen the lack of amount of hummus and fixed it. Also, the prices on their website need to be updated.

I moved here three years ago and I used to love this place. The last three times Ive given it a try again, it has been a disappointment. My potatoes are burnt this time. The potatoes have not been good with any of my orders. Last time my gyro meat was dry and hard. The time before that they forgot some of my food (yes, I shouldve checked before leaving the restaurant).

The atmosphere was nice & clean. Seats tucked away for a cute lunch/diner date. Small nice lighting with a rose on each table is a great touch for that setting. The experience I had was such a disappointment. Small areas for walking between tables to begin with & if a wheelchair space is needed, not much to play with. The food was absolutely bland & food was saturated in grease. Theres were attitudes from waitresses, not a good response towards anyone, especially if youre representing ones restaurant.

So I have been here more than I can count. I just wanted to acknowledge this place publicly based on a server. Some people in life really do things from the heart and Diane has always been my favorite server and today I ran into a serve name Zima. She is just fantastic and made my meal 10 times more enjoyable. I usually get the kafta, or lamb shank. The Greek dressing is fantastic so a salad is always good. I have had the mussels plenty of times, but today I even tried a new dish thanks to Zima. I highly recommend this place owners seem very nice and service is always great. The wine selection is fantastic and the food is great.

For dinner we went to a Greek restaurant. I ordered the lemon capers Red Snapper which came with two sides. For my side I chose rice and roasted cauliflower. The snapper was absolutely delicious and the lemon capers sauce was a perfect accompaniment. The rice was a little bland. The roasted cauliflower was flavored well, but most of it was undercooked. My wife ordered the gyro which came with one side. The side that was ordered was roasted potatoes. The gyro meat was large pieces which was a win. The pita was not warmed up, which wasn t a dealbreaker for the gyro, but a warmed up pita would have been nice. The tzatziki sauce was more Greek yogurt than a tzatziki sauce that we are used too. The potatoes were fried great and were lemony and were so delicious. Our child ordered the gyro plate which came with a choice of one or two sides. She ordered potatoes and rice. Her place came with gyro meat on it and then a basket of warmed pitas were served on the side. The potatoes that came with her plate were different than the roasted potatoes and came with like a garlic lemon sauce on them, which was so delicious. Our child isn t a big fan of garlic and absolutely loved them. My mother-in-law ordered the lentil soup which was very good. A little bit of salt was added but not much. The manager brought out some of the broth that the lamb shank is braised in for us to try which was delicious. We ended up taking the pita pieces, putting some of the rice and dipping it in the sauce to eat. Overall the place was very nice, had delicious food and had a relaxed ambiance.

If you ve had Greek food before you will not enjoy this place. I got the gyro plate with the gyro meat,potato wedges and hummus with a side of pita bread and Nutella cheesecake. The hummus was THE WORST hummus I ve ever had. Small portion and tasted like blended chickpeas and water and was the runniest hummus I ve ever had. No seasonings or salt or tahini was incorporated into making it. The potato wedges were cooked as if meant to be crispy but were soggy as if they d been sitting in oil for a long time with ,again, no seasonings or salt. The gyro meat was decent. The Nutella cheesecake had a chunk of white cream cheese in it that didn t get blended into the mixture but it was still decent, just definitely not worth the price. The pita bread was honestly the only decent thing for the price and flavor. If you ve never had Greek before then you may enjoy yourself but if you have had Greek before this isn t where you wanna go.

We had graduation and birthday dinner at the restaurant. The restaurant was very busy and kitchen was behind. Our server kept us informed frequently about the delay and to our surprise the owner gave all of us dessert at no charge. Went here for my wifes birthday. The atmosphere of the place was okay. Kind of dark but nice. Service was very poor. We waited at the door for at least 5 minutes with several people just looking at us from the late staff. Once we were finally seated, the way server seemed disinterested and agitated that we were there. We ordered our appetizers as well as our meals and the service continued to be slow. When we did get our food it tasted as if it was frozen and reheated. They also brought us the wrong thing. Waiting for our main course. After an hour and a half we decided that we didnt want to wait any longer and we left. Probably wouldnt go back. The prices are a little high for what you get.

I have gone to Acropolis several times, and I am sad to say that I have to update my review. While it had previously been a 5 star review due to the food and the service, these have been gradually getting worse over the last year or so. I wanted to chalk it up to just bad timing, or maybe I simply got unlucky with a meal here or there, or maybe the restaurant was just busier than expected. Unfortunately, I have to admit that I am wrong. The last few times Ive come to Acropolis, my meals have been disappointing. Not bad, but not as good as they used to be. The pasta was flavorless, the lamb shanks were more bone than meat (I mean seriously, after taking the meat off the bone I realized the little cup of rice they give with the grape leaves was bigger than the portion of meat Id received, and it was under seasoned at best anyway.) The final straw that has led to me changing my review was, I called the store yesterday evening asking if their hours were any different today (May 27th), and they told me that it would be open through their normal hours. My wife, for my birthday, was going to take me here, since it used to be my favorite restaurant, but after driving two hours, we found the doors locked. We lingered due to the turned on Open lights in the window, but a worker came out and told us that the place was closed, and that their owner had decided *this morning* to close early, not honoring any reservations or prior agreements. In the time its taken to write this review in the parking lot, Ive seen seven cars park in the parking lot, get out of their cars, and start to approach the store before realizing it is closed. Eight. While I dont believe Ill be coming back any time soon, I hope that at the very least the owner reads this and acknowledges that next time, he should consider warning his staff beforehand if he is planning on closing for the day. It would save a lot of people time, gas money, and disappointment.

This afternoon we drove from Waco to harker heights for dinner. When we arrived in the restaurant we were promptly greeted and seated. However no one ever waited on us they just looked at us. The owner on the phone the whole time we were there no one talked to us no one asked us what we wanted to drink or order. The restaurant wasnt busy. In frustration we walked out and left. And we determined we never go back. The service industry has gotten terrible. This is yet another example of poor service in a restaurant. A note if somebody walks through your door wanting to spend their hard earned money at your establishment I recommend you treat them with respect and wait on them.

Im from Detroit where we have a very large Greek and Middle Eastern population and many restaurants that serve this type of food. Ive been in Texas for 10 years now and this is the best that I have had since Ive been here. I have a few friends from Detroit here, too and they all agree that Acropolis is the best in the area!! Ive been going to Acropolis for many years now and Ive spent a lot of money at this restaurant. After its first owner, the lady, left, the restaurant has undergone new ownership. At the beginning, it was OK; it seemed like the new management was trying to keep the restaurant s reputation for its quality and service. Ever since they changed the chef and the workers, everything has gone down hill: the food and the service, and it s been going down hill ever since. When the original lady owned the restaurant, the food was flawless every single time. And her chefs looked professional, dressed professional, and acted professional every time. And the service was fast, flawless, and professional. At the beginning of its new ownership, the food was almost the same and the service was OK, but lately the quality of the food and the taste started to change, and on my latest visit with my family to the restaurant, it was a very unpleasant experience: the Gyro was cold, old, and hard; the Greek potatoes were soggy, tasteless, and cold. My sibling loves the Greek Kofta; however, the meatballs were cold, hard, and old. And to add insult to injury, the waitress had no sense of urgency; she was an older white lady with glasses. Our appetizer was sitting at the window for a good 10 minutes; she was just sitting down cutting lemons and did not get up until the owner walked in. Then, she decided to go get the appetizer that we ordered. Additionally, she coughed over the lemon that she was cutting and did not even cover her mouth. Also, she placed my spoon directly on the table and touched it with her bare hands rather than placing it on a napkin. The only waitress there that was working hard was a white young lady and that was it. I noticed in the past few visits that the quality of the food started going downhill. We do not have many authentic restaurants around this area and Acropolis Cuisine was the place to go. But sadly, it looks like the restaurant is not what it was; thats why I gave it one star. If they do not go back to making the food the way it was, ensuring the same quality, and providing good service, I would not recommend it.

Brought our in-laws that were in town, and they liked it, which is great. Nothing is worse than talking an establishment up and for them to disappoint. So for that, thank you. Vegetarian options: Had the eggplant Rolatini that was to die for, and for those of us following lent, it is good to see these types of dishes that not other taste great, but it was so filling and plenty of it too. Always try the lentil soup. Believe me, you wont regret it. This was the first time I tried the bowl (I always get the cup, which now I know was a mistake), and I think I will only order the bowl. Gyro plate was good. Lots of meat. The roasted potatoes were good. The place looks like a fast food place from the outside, but is a nice sit down place once you get in although, not a big place. Service was good. The only real downside, were the bathrooms. They were kinda of dumpy. Didnt fit the rest of the place.

I gave this restaurant a 3 because they are inconsistent. I went to this restaurant with my wife and friends 2 weeks ago. The atmosphere was great and the food was fantastic. I ordered the gyro plate which looked like the pictures above. Slices of lamb, lettuce, tomato, onion, cucumber, feta with 2 pieces of pita bread ND the sauce. There was grilled broccoli and lentil soup on the side. A great meal that was really too much to eat in one setting. However, 2 weeks later I ordered the same plate to go, but did not receive the same! This time that gyro plate only came with meat, potatoes, and rice. I had to ask for the pita bread. No vegetables to make the gyro what it usually is. When I called a young lady answered. When I told her how disappointed I was, she stated she didnt know what to do. Did not offer the manager, did not offer to make up the parts missing. I like consistency when I spend my money, especially as a returning customer. Because I dont know what I would be getting from this restaurant on any given day, I will take my friends and family along with my money to some place that I know will be the same every time! Poor service recovery is the enemy of longevity.

The food here is great! But one of my key take aways whenever I try a new restaurant is customer service . I placed a To-Go order tonight and when I arrived, I let the young lady with glasses know that id had an order to go. She proceeds to give me my food, I respond with thank you . After checking my food, I m getting ready to walk out the door and I m doing so I hear Have a nice night looking up to realize she wasn t speaking to me, but to the group of women walking out behind me. So overall I give a 3 stars.

I tried Acropolis for the first time today and I gotta say, I was blown away. Never had Greek food before, but the vibe there was so cozy and romantic, like something out of a movie. Our waitress was awesome too. I went for the lamb chops with fried potatoes and Greek salad, and man, it was all so good, no complaints at all. Even my daughters lasagna was top-notch. Its hard to find good lasagna, but they nailed it. Definitely glad we picked this spot for dinner.

I decided to celebrate my birthday with my family at this location because I loved the food and the atmosphere. Unfortunately, a far from pleasant experience is what I had. Prior to us going, my husband called and asked if they were able to take a party of ten. The person on the phone confirmed we could be accommodated. Upon me entering the establishment, I noticed that our party was separated. Not like the next table over, but so much so, it was two completely separate dining experiences. When the party left from the table next to ours, my husband went to our server (who took about 20 minutes to bring us water, while the table that she sat while we waited to place our order was greeted with hugs and they promptly got their drinks), to ask if the rest of the family could be seated closer. The owner ran over to my husband to intercept the request and said the rest of our family couldnt sit at that table and then he said very loudly and very rudely, that he was trying to be nice. And walked off. I had seen and heard enough. I told my family that I no longer wanted to spend our hard earned money in an establishment where the owner feels like it is ok to be rude. We left without eating and I dont plan on returning. My husband acted on information that was told to him by someone that worked there, but when we get there we are treated like the information was fabricated. He turned my birthday dining experience into a nightmare. We were there for an hour and only got water and had just gotten appetizers during that time. I cannot nor will not support rudeness.

Visited the restaurant this past weekend for the very first time. Experience was good, food was great! The server De D was amazing even suggested a fantastic Lebanese beer that was phenomenal. It was rather busy some a reservation would be the smart thing to do. Would definitely dine in again!

Our waitress was not attentive enough she spent a lot of time at another table talking, friends I would guess she did not ask us if we wanted appetizers we couldnt order a cocktail till dinner was served. She also told to please not change seats its easier to serve the dinners. We had a party of ten we were celebrating my birthday!!

I was in the restaurant the night the Greene party was there. Their recollection is laughable, especially since Mr. Greene falsely pointed out that he was the only party of color. Restaurants have their own policies, and rules. If you can t follow them, stay at home. Food and service is always top notch here, no matter what color you are.

Absolutely the worst service Ive ever experienced in my entire life. This restaurant was one of my wifes favorite up until today. My wife wanted to celebrate her birthday here with our immediate family so I called and made a reservation for 8 on the phone. Left my name and arrival time and they said ok we have you and hung up. Got another RSVP an hour later so I called back updated the reservation to 10 and again they said ok. My mistake was to not ask whom I was speaking to. Arrive at the restaurant only to be met with them saying they do not have a reservation for us at all, then moments later they state the reservation was made for 7 people. They put us together 2 tables which was not enough space for our party of 8. They told us the table next to ours was reserved, so we could not pull that one next to ours and stated that they do not accept reservations for large groups, but why was this not mentioned either time I called??? Asked to speak to the manager and was surprised to find out that the woman I was speaking to all along was the manager which was unbelievable due to her lack of attentiveness. We sat several feet away for part of our party and when a table opened up next to us I went to ask the manager if it would be possible to move them closer and the owner, who made it a point to stop and check on patrons at every table except for either of our parties tables(which happened to be the only tables with people of color), rushed to me and rudely said he s saving for a party of 5 and then told me he was trying to be nice VERY LOUDLY and turned to walk away abruptly to the back corner of the restaurant and stared at us. I could not believe this because aside from the busboy, nobody was nice at all. We immediately left and will never be returning again and will be sharing our experience. So sad because the food is excellent and all the places we could have chose, my wife wanted to come here. Again, the food is great, management, terrible. Never again.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I decided to travel from Austin to this location for my mother in law s birthday only to not be sat with the entire table and near a door with my 2 year old nephew feeling the cold chill the entire time. The server was flat out rude the entire time and took over 20 mintues for water. When a table finally left, my father in law kindly asked to have another table closer so we could all be near the party. The RUDE owner bum rushed over to be ignorant to my father in law (who is a veteran) that he was not going to accommodate our reservation that my Father in law made days prior and that he was trying to be nice to my father in law (nothing nice about this rude old man). Funny how people who lacked pigment didn t have the same experience as my family. Needless to say, we will never be back and that was a waste of time for us to drive an hour away for a place my in laws had nothing but praises about.

The food is amazing, the service is friendly and fast. I highly recommend the gyro wraps with potatoes as the side. The meat is very well seasoned, I had the Mediterranean wrap with gyro meat and the veggies were cooked on the wrap which I loved. The potatoes are crispy and tangy better than any ordinary wedges and the portions are a good size.

Service was okay. Took 45 minutes to just get our food. Watched several tables and came in after us get their food and leave before we even got ours. Fresh out of the ER, my hubby & I went there to have lunch. Of course I was equipped with my walker and in pain. The staff s customer service were incredible! They were attentive and considerate of my situation. They made sure to check on me, even when my husband was there to assist me. Wow where to start this restaurant was great all around from the food to the service. The waitstaff is very kind and gives wonderful service. We had the mezze plater, lamb shank, lamb chops, and the Santorini pasta everything was great great great. The owner is very polite, he was visiting every table to ensure everyone was enjoying their meal. We will definitely be returning.

Ordered a Whiskey Pasta and Scampy Shrimp. My wife said the Shrimps were rubbery and over cooked. My Whiskey Pasta sauce, was a bit watery. Stood about 5+ minutes waiting to place my order, while waiters stood in front of The computer talking. They both actually looked at me a few times, and continued talking. I ve patronized this place a few times, never had this experience. Very disappointed
