We loved this place! Its a smaller venue so it felt nice and reminded us of the theater venues from back then. Very nice staff. The only thing Id recommend is that you arrive early to get a good parking spot. Otherwise you will have to walk a bit but not too bad. We loved it.

The historic Palace Arts Center is a beautiful 1940s performing arts theatre that is very well built, preserved, and fantastically maintained. For its age, it looks good. Im glad to see the venue is still in operation and utilized for various artistic and ceremonial activities. Im grateful I had a chance to see the Raiders of the Lost Ark movie for the first time here. (Yes, I know, Im a little late, 1981 was a super busy year for me as I was just coming into my own, and I never got a chance to fully see it til now. Lol). The place has a lovely old school vibe that pays homage to historical moments like a museum. The open seating was comfortable (nice balcony views), the acoustics were good, and the host was great offering a great introduction. The schedule seems to be consistently full with events (live performances and classic movies), but if I get a chance to visit again, I will take Brians advice that the Right Place Is On The Floor/Ground seating since Im very sensitive to activity and vibrations of others around me and like to immerse myself into a movie. (In the balcony, the slightest footsteps can be felt and evenmore so if children are running and when they are tapping their feet on the chair in front of them.) Lastly, I appreciated the affordable concessions (popcorn with seasoning options, candy bars and treats, bottled water, fountain soda with collectable/souvenir cups. (I dont know why I was craving a nice milkshake - maybe because it was hot hot outside.) Palace, I Want You Around (Aa), so I hope your rare venue is appreciated and valued for many more years to come by Dallas Fort Worth/Grapevine locals and visitors, young and old. Thank you!

My children and I attended a summer movie showing and viewed The Goofy Movie. It was great. The theater had plenty of space and was an ice cold escape from this Texas heat. The concessions were great and the service was great. Will definitely return again. We swung by the Rocket Fizz candy shop after which is right across the street. Perfect summer day trip in downtown Grapevine.

Treated very rudely by the person distributing the tickets at the will call window. Actually gave a free ticket away to someone walking up to the window wishing him a Merry Christmas but treated me like trash telling me to go stand outside and try and sell my tickets instead of offering me to remain by the window, which I was inside away from people picking up their tickets as not to be in the way, incase anyone else was looking for last minute tickets to purchase. First and last time I will ever go to this venue. Needless to say, I didn t see the show and money lost, but valuable lesson learned

Very nice theatre but parking is horrendous at Christmas time. Virtually non existent. Could not find parking and missed our show. Will not return. Traffic was awful, parking was awful, I m sure show was great but what does it matter if you don t provide adequate parking for your customers. Ridiculous experience.

Love coming here to see movies on the big screen. Its not the comfyest of chairs, but its historic and timeless, so changing the chairs would take away from its history and make it too modern. Its great at Christmas and throughout the year.

the dancers and musicians were amazing. i had never seen such a production before and im glad my sister and her boyfriend invited me. she is one of the dancers (tovah) and was terrific too and im glad she found her niche in this family of entertainers because they are very supportive and fun, not just excellent performers. there was an awards set and the people behind the scenes were brought out and applauded, and throughout it all the mistress of ceremonies Isis kept it all going and everybody energized

As a family we enjoy visiting Grapevine because it s such a cute vintage town. But one of the reasons we keep visiting are the events in the Palace Arts Center, such as the tributes to the different artists from the past decades. The most recent tribute we bought tickets for was the Elvis Presley love Songs concert and dinner, and it was so much fun! We love how family oriented and classic this events can be!!!

Attended the Carpenters UK Tour show. Tickets were quite pricey for the quality of this performance. The stage props completely blocked visibility of the screen if u were not seated in balcony so much of the show was not seen at all. I am mostly disappointed because I know they had to be aware of this because a joke was made about people in balcony having good seats. The seats should have been sold at about 1/3 of price AND attendees should have been informed prior to purchase of the visibility issues. I drove over an hour to attend this show- the entertainment was just OK at best.

We took our kids to see a Charlie Brown Christmas and Frosty the Snowman. We loved the theater, staff, and concessions. However, we left during the second movie due to the crowd. It was very busy, which I expected. We showed up early and were able to find seats together. People were saving large groups of seats, but no one showed up to use them and they just stayed empty, which I thought was unfair. We had a family of 6 with a newborn sitting in each others laps in 3 chairs during the movie because they couldnt find seats. There were several screaming babies in the theater, and no one took them to the lobby, they just kept screaming. There were a bunch of empty seats behind us that were reserved by a lady. About 45 minutes in, she had a friend show up with 2 small children. They kept coughing very loudly behind us and should not have been there. We decided to get up and leave. Again, we loved the theater, but it would have been very helpful to have someone assist with finding seats and checking on the crowd in the theater from time to time.

Enjoying a movie at The Palace Theater is like stepping back in time. This theater was completely restored to its original condition when it first opened in November of 1940. Period seating sets the ambience for an authentic movie experience with a schedule of classic movies to take you back to those thrilling days of yesteryear. Popcorn and treats are at or below half price of modern movie houses, so this is a value-packed evening of entertainment set in historic downtown Grapevine.
