We wanted it somewhat quiet so we could talk. We paid $100 extra for a private room (which had no door) It was warm in there as well. I asked for a discount off the 100 because we had little gnat bugs flying around us the whole time. We were all trying to swat these bugs. Our bill for 10 was around $600. They only agreed to take $20 off the room charge. Very disappointed. Would never do that again.

The food was just okay (we didn t get sick or anything, lol). We were originally seated on the patio. When we asked if the fans could be turned on we were told by the manager they were not working. We were also told the water was turned off so no water was served. Seems like the restaurant would be closed if the was turned off??? The manager was also not aware if the pasta was made fresh at the restaurant (she would have to ask). . One of the most bizarre dining experiences ever. Can t imagine ever going back here.

I had the shrimp scampi and the shrimp was extremely rubbery. It was very overcooked and didn t have any garlic flavor. The noodles on the side is like an Alfredo spaghetti. It tasted gritty, I don t know what was wrong with it, but it wasn t what I expected for scampi. They were out of whitefish and the substitution was catfish. My husband approved it but wished he had gotten something else after tasting the fish. We had five people in our party and we ordered a bottle of wine. We put in an order for another bottle and the waitress laughed at us and said we drank that fast. We all still had full glasses when she said that. Not a good selling statement. The waitress wasn t really dressed appropriately. Very short and skimpy shorts and top. It didn t bother me but I expected this restaurant to be a little more classy. We probably won t go back because of the lackluster food and unprofessional service.

Dear Owner of Farinas, please invest in the outdoor patio in the back. We have been coming here for the past 12 years and slowly watching it decline! Really disappointing to come and celebrate our anniversary and there is only one fan working embarrassing. But yet Granbury has plenty of fans. This place is a Grapevine staple so please address this asap

Farina s is located in the heart of historic downtown Grapevine. It is housed in a pre-World War I building which offers a lot of charm. Upon entering, the space may be small but there are plenty of overflow spaces including a party room and a large, partially shaded patio in the back. On Saturday and Sunday, Farina s is open for brunch from 10-1. Having never sampled their brunch offerings, we made a recent trip only to have a most underwhelming experience. I found it interestingly strange that there were no other guests dining when we were there. We arrived right at 10 am. We were greeted by a friendly young woman upon entering and seated promptly. We found the brunch menu to be quite short, which did not bother us. It is interesting, however, that the other neighboring restaurants on Main Street that serve brunch have many other offerings. We ordered a raspberry mimosa. Neither of us had ever had raspberry in our champagne. Thinking it might be from raspberry puree, the server brought out two glasses of champagne and one glass of raspberry lemonade. Any connoisseur of mimosas and most mixologists and barkeepers know this should never be an offering. Farina s needs to rethink their mimosa choices and be in better alignment with other competitive restaurants who offer better choices. And more importantly, the champagne that was served was subpar. It lacked flavor and tasted a little flat. For a restaurant that touts itself as a winery, the mark was truly missed at this juncture. The food that was ordered was much to our surprise lacking in flavor as well as presentation. The Caprese toast was nothing more than a crustini that was quite small and seemed more like a margherita pizza. The bacon was slightly burned. The chilequiles was unlike any other that we had ever tasted before - and not in a good way. If you order this dish, be prepared for it to have mozzarella cheese and spaghetti sauce instead of what you might be more used to, which is normally a Mexican dish. It was served on a plate instead of in a bowl as it normally is in most places. The taste was very strange and subpar at best. The ground meat that was added, did not seem freshly prepared, but seemed more like a prepackaged meat that was warmed and placed in the dish. When it arrived to the table, the dish was not hot. Overall, I think this could be a great little place for brunch, but there definitely needs to be several changes in order for Farina s to achieve such notoriety. It definitely has potential, but it also has a way to go if it wants to truly match the competition in the area.

Stopped here with my wife because of the recommendations of Google / Trip Advisor. Wine list seemed adequate, and the shorter menu suggested quality Italian dishes. Upon entering, the atmosphere was jovial, with many tables full of chatty guests, along with a live band setting up in the adjacent room. It was quite warm inside as well. I ordered a cab and a cheese bread to start. The wine was fine. The bread - soft, and cheesy, but lacking the garlic listed in the menu. Presentation was nice, but really the dish was bland. Not bad, just devoid of flavor. We were hungry so we finished it off. Ordered a spaghetti w/ salad and a shrimp scampi with tomato basil soup. Again, we were disappointed with the lack of flavor for what appeared to be rather agreeable looking dishes. Spaghetti was again lacking flavor, though the sausage made it more palatable. The scampi, which looked to be dripping in garlicky butter, again disappointed. Once in my mouth, the sauce was watery and the minuscule flavor left quickly - not what I expected of a scampi. House salad was just lettuce, cheese, and olives. Tomato basil soup didn t really taste of tomato or basil, and the garlic bread brought to the table again lacked garlic. Service seemed like they might be down a person for the night, with multiple people visiting our table to top off water or take plates. They were cordial, and the woman behind the bar was often coming to the floor to assist. However, the original server visited our table only to take an order. We ended up calling the check and leaving plates unfinished (no boxes needed). The food wasn t terrible - so not 1 star-worthy - but I was definitely disappointed after the recent reviews raved about delicious food. Overall, Farina s had the style - from decor to presentation - but lacked substance throughout the experience.

Because of this I decided to give 4 stars instead of 3. I only want to dock stars because of how bad the food was. Nothing had any flavor, and it was all very basic. We will go back for drinks and atmosphere, but we will be eating elsewhere.

We have been reserving a table during the holidays for over 8 years at Farina s. We showed up 10 mins ahead of our reservation (made a month in advance). We could tell something was off as there was a group ahead of us talking to the hostess frustrated they had been waiting over an hour and a half for their reservation. Half of the restaurant was empty - we were told a large group had reserved it & there was nothing they could do to seat any other reservations. We were told it was unlikely we would get a table & we should probably go somewhere else- sorry about that . It was extremely disappointing they overbooked their restaurant & didn t even bother to call & let folks know so you could make alternate plans for dinner with a large group on a Saturday night. Thankfully we walked down Main St & Dino s was able to seat us right away & we had the BEST dinner. Looks like we have a new place to carry on our Grapevine Christmas tradition. Beware that a reservation means nothing at this restaurant during the holidays. Proceed at your own risk!!!

Don t waste your time. We checked in with the host around 4:30 and were told we had an 1.5-2 hour wait, given it was a busy Saturday night we were just excited to get in somewhere in downtown Grapevine. We waited 2 hours and when we hadn t heard anything we went back down to check where we were on the list and they informed us that the tables in front of us showed up an hour late to their reservations so we still had another 1.5-2 hour wait. We were disappointed, but understood given the other tables had a reservation in advance so we decided to stick it out. After about another hour, we had someone from our party walk down to see where we were on the list and get a better gauge as to what time we could sit down. When he got there and asked the host, he was treated rudely even though he never got angry with them and at this point had been waiting hours for a reservation. They told him multiple times we weren t on the list and he had to assure them we were and show them where our names were on the list. The host circled our names on the list multiple times and shewed him out the door. Another 45 mins went by (totaling 4.5 hour wait for a table) we checked in again and they told us they would for sure have us in a little after 9 o clock. Again, we patiently waited given this was only 20 mins more to wait. Around 10 pm we gave up hope and had to eat somewhere else. Farinas never ended up calling us. This is completely unacceptable. Had we checked in and the host told us it was going to be a 5 hour wait or whatever the time may have been we would ve said all good, we ll come back some other time but they didn t and kept dragging us along. By the time we gave up hope with Farinas all other nearby restaurants had closed.

We specifically made reservations knowing that this time of year is super busy, when we arrived people who had reservations a hour before us were still waiting to be seated, we ended up having to be seated outside on the back patio it was cold and windy. We had to ask to move our table closer to heaters and to have another heater lit near us. Not ideal when making reservations. Food was great, except we didn t get our bread until everybody was done eating and had to ask for a refill on drinks that also didn t come until food was gone.

We made reservations on a Saturday night for 7 people. Arrived at 5 and did not see a waitress for almost 25 minutes. Finally received our drinks 33 minutes later. We ordered our food and asked for bread, which was delivered to the table next to us who had been sitting there about 20 minutes waiting for a waitress to take their drink order. One of our friends was still waiting for her coke almost 45 minutes later. I finally went to the front and asked for the manager. There were 3 separate tables asking for the manager. Our food was horrible! Ordered the baked chicken alfredo with artichokes. It tasted like frozen chicken reheated.. I got 1 artichoke but A LOT of capers and sauce. The manager worked hard at pleasing everyone and comped our drinks but this is the 3rd time weve been and had horrible service and food. Im a local and will NEVER go back.

Dined here last night and I thought it was good. Definitely American Italian food (emphasis on American) so just keep that in mind. However they have a few different options like burgers and sandwiches which I feel adds a nice depth beside the pasta and flatbread pizzas you can get. My mom got the turkey club and creamy potato soup which she loved! We shared the bruschetta, which was really good. It had a nice sun-dried tomato pesto topped with fresh basil and tomatoes. I got the half portion Baked Lasagna, which is said to be their family recipe, with a side of tomato soup. I loved the soup and the lasagna was really good too! Service was great.

We came by for my wife s birthday at 9:15 when they show to close at 10pm yet all tables had chairs on their tables and upon entering they said they have no tables available. Why would you say you close at 10pm if you do not actually close at that time? We planned our whole evening at a winery next door with the anticipation of having dinner here but we re turned down. Absolutely ridiculous and unbelievable.

Baked lasagna was great! Pesto and sausage was delicious. The Alfredo was a bit of a disappointment. It was watery and flavorless with rubbery chicken. The waitstaff were friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is inviting. Just avoid the Alfredo.

Regrettably, this is not italian food. It is another cheap restaurant filled with mediocre cooks and bad food. The price of the food for the quality delivered is seriously upsetting. The owner and staff need a reality check. The bruschetta was served as a tiny 6 thin loaf, topped with what you expect on a bruschetta except it was covered in in balsamic vinegar and a mount of lettuce to hide the fact you had paid $13 for a soggy pizza crust that was put together without a sense of taste. Unfortunately for this restaurant I have had simple and beautifully prepared Italian food. The fan base is loyal, and if they wanted to raise their standards, they would prosper and have full support, yet they serve garbage for the price of passion.

Beautiful evening with wonderful friends at Farinas. Ive been to Farinas bunches of times, but tonight was so nice, it prompted me to finally leave a quick review. Food is always great. Tonight we started with the spinach & artichoke dip and dinner was a Farinas salad with salmon and their specialty Italian dressing along with a delicious red wine. Service is consistently friendly and accommodating, (Our server tonight was Kendall...well ask to sit in her section again next time!) Highly recommend Farinas in Grapevine.

Poorly Managed! We were there last night and an obviously overserved customer at the bar had his feet on the bar and being super obnoxious! Even after customers complained about his behavior he was allowed to continue to drink and bother customers. The food is good, but the service is really slow. We won t be back! Going to Nipoli s just down the street instead.

The food was decent, dont get me wrong. You could tell the meatballs were homemade and not just frozen and reheated. However, if I was wanting Italian food, I wouldnt have chosen this place over the loads of other Italian restaurants in grapevine alone. The other con for me was how packed tight everyone was. I think my chair was knocked around 4-5 times by the party next to us, at no fault of their own but rather just a super cramped layout. The service was exceptional! Both waitresses we had were kind and courteous. Wheelchair accessibility: There is certainly no room for a wheelchair to maneuver in this restaurant.

I arrived at Farinas at 6:30PM and was informed by the hostess that they were no longer accepting customers and were full for the night. My boyfriend decided to make a second attempt around 7:30PM and he was informed that they had seats available outside. These are two completely different statements that were given by the hostess. I also found it strange that a popular, well known restaurant was not accepting customers at 6:30PM for the rest of the night. I will not recommend Farinas.

We met a friend for dinner to celebrate her birthday. We started with a bottle of The Pessimist, reasonably priced. We ordered a pizza, shrimp scampi and small portion of lasagna. The entrees came with salad or soup, we chose salad and it was great! The main courses were perfect sized and flavored perfectly. Overall it was an excellent dinner. Three people, plus a bottle of wine for right at $100. Can t beat the value!

We go to Farinas for meetings with our suppliers occasionally. Its always enjoyable. The staff is there, but doesnt bother you. Theyre also always very friendly. Its never been excessively noisy, so you can have a discussion without screaming even as the restaurant gets full. As far as food goes, we generally just have appetizers so I cant speak to their menu. But their appetizers are always good. Parking: I didnt go behind the restaurant, but my co-worker parked back there. I parked in a free lot across the street, which was almost full. Its a busy area with lots of foot traffic.

My spouse and I have been to this restaurant many time over the past few year and have enjoyed good service and food but it normally was always just the two of us. We are now in an active adult community and in charge of our weekly Monday lunch outing for the group. As such we have arranged lunches for the past two years or over 100 outings to date. This past week we set up Farina s for our group of 20+, made the reservation well in advance, and put them on our building (200 residents) calendar. The two of us then went to Farina s both to have lunch and confirm our reservation and number of folks who would be coming. Then the bombshell. We were told that because it was a group that there would only one check for all of us! Wow. In our planning the previous 100 outings we have always had separate checks as we are all seniors and want to have our own bill and style of payment. The person we talked to was quite curt and repeated that even if we split up into several tables we would still be considered a Group; obviously not interested in our business. We immediately canceled this place, took our $600+ potential payout, made a reservation at a friendlier restaurant that would provide good food, prompt service, and most of all separate checks. Obviously the entire building is now aware of this ridiculous policy from Farina s and even though many have been there before, have now said that they will not consider the place in the future.

What a disappointment! EVERY year, my parents come in town and we have made it an annual tradition with family to spend our Christmas celebration at Farinas and Downtown Grapevine. I called a couple weeks prior to make sure we could lock in a table in the super decorated and festive private room. I let the girl know we eat in the same place every year and set it for 5:30. She said we could be in the special room with no issues. Upon arrival, we were poorly greeted by a brunette woman that has terrible customer service. We arrived 50 minutes early because my 1 and 3 year olds were hungry so we just wanted to check to see if the table was ready. She informed us a private party had the room so it wouldnt be ready until 5:30... Understandable. We hung out and waited until the last couple lingering people walked out. At 5:00, the room was empty so we let the hostess know that we were ready whenever they were for us to at least sit down. She said they needed to make sure it was cleaned up even though all tables are completely empty. About 10 minutes later, she walked out holding her coat and was gone. I went to check the room we requested and it was dark so I asked a waitress if we could sit down... she said they will not be seating anyone in that room and it is closed. I told her we have been waiting for 30 minutes already because the other girl said we had to wait for it to clear, plus had a reservation. She said, Oh well shes new and doesnt know... thats why she left. We asked if we could please sit in there because we called ahead and its our annual tradition and she said no. So after waiting over 30 minutes for nothing, we had to try to go somewhere else and everything was at least a 45 minute wait. With starving children, we didnt have the option to wait that long so we had to leave our Grapevine tradition and drive somewhere that we could find with a table. We are so sad that a tradition we wanted to have forever had to come to an end. Also, the special Christmas room was barely decorated like other years. Maybe the owners are new or something but everything, including the customer service, was awful! We will miss the old experiences we had!

I don t know what happened to Farina s but this used to be one of our favorite places to eat in downtown Grapevine. We had a large group reservation for the night of the downtown tree lighting. The patio warmers kept going out and we were told the kitchen would come fix it when they weren t busy , they were out of several things because it was Monday , the pizza was delicious, but two of us ordered chicken Alfredo and it tasted like a lean cuisine, and we completely lost our appetite. The chicken was definitely not cooked there. The wine was good and the host and waitress were both very nice (that s why we gave it 2 stars). I just didn t know the restaurant had gone so far downhill. Just wish I had known before I brought my whole family.

Nice rustic restaurant and bar that is eclectic at best in decorations...a rock and roll theme wall. Jourdan was our server and was absolutely delightful. Her pleasant attitude and smile brightens any day and is a great start to a meal. She gave great service and recommendations. Appears to be a nice appetizer spead...but we went to the entree after looking at all the food that comes with the meal. We both got the salmon piccatta. I had the tomato basil soup...excellent and my wife had the potato and sausage another good choice. Finisher was the chocolate cake. Parking: Ample free parking near.

We stopped by here in the afternoon for a glass of wine (beer for the guys) while shopping. I visited the bathroom and noticed that someone had vomitted in the sink. I immediately informed our waitress that the bathroom needed attention. While we were enjoying our drinks, we saw three other people also advise the staff of the situation. After about an hour, we paid our tab and I decided to stop in the bathroom again. The mess was still there. I informed an employee and was told that the person to clean it up would not be in until 4. It was currently 3:30. I dont know how long the mess had been there but this did not reflect well on the establishment. While it was a very busy day in Grapevine, the Cafe had only two other customers besides us----I see why. We wont be back.

I don t get the good reviews for food. I do like their wine. I ve eaten there three times over three years and it s never been good. I ordered bruschetta, which SHOULD be sliced Italian bread with fresh tomatoes, basil, onion, and olive oil. What I received was a frozen pizza crust, warm and mushy, with tomato and an overdose of packaged basil. What is that? I ordered a salad with grilled chicken. The chicken was dry. I ordered salmon. It was meh. This is not an Italian restaurant. It does well enough because it s in downtown Grapevine but I would never get food there again.
