Ordered the Jolif rice meal with goat, for which I was charged extra according to the menu. Cool. Got home and theres literally 2 pieces of meat in the middle of this big box of rice, and to top it off, its dry and tough. I guess I shouldve read the reviews. The rice is delicious, so based on that, Ill give them another chance.

I ve ordered here a few times to give it a try. First time, the portion was very small so I thought, ok maybe it s just how they serve it. Second time, I added the beef to my fufu and egusi order and I was shocked to find a very small cardboard like piece of beef. It was maybe 1oz piece. Third time, I ordered chicken and again it was super hard to eat. The portion was a little better but all I got was bones and inedible pieces of chicken. I guess I ll continue my quest in finding delicious African food.

Ordered the fufu platter with cow skin and tripe. I guess people don t order these meats often because they do not know how to properly cook them. They were both very undercooked I could barely even cut through with a knife. This undercooked meat was in my soup so I didn t eat the soup either of fear of cross contamination. Please do not order fufu platters from them. They didn t even try this is terrible.

So Im going to be very honest! I hope the restaurant makes the right changes with their seasonings and assist the chef with how Nigerian sauces are cooked. 1. I live 25 -30 mins away from the restaurant. No form of delivery service was available to my area, so I was forced to drive there. I ordered 3 types of meals; Fufu and egusi platter with goat meat, Whole Tilapia & Fried Plantains, Ogbono sauce & Goat meat. 2. The Egusi was terrible! (ZERO STARS) It only took one bite, and i almost stood up, but i was famished. The more i ate, the more it was obvious how terrible it was. It tasted bitter & sour. It did not seem to have any form of crayfish & seasonings typical with egusi. It tasted like an excess amount of canned tomato sauce(usually sour in taste), dry pepper, egusi, salt & vegetable oil were the only present ingredients in it. It was awful! The stew from the goat meat was not any better. It also tasted like they only used canned tomato sauce, salt, oil, and some weird spice. It was sour and very lacking in flavor. The meat did not taste like goatmeat and was very overcooked. The sauce entirely lacked all things Nigerian about it. It tasted like an experiment without a West African cooking background! I will revamp what i just could not continue to eat when I get home!! Basically, the Egusi sauce needs just a little blend fresh tomatoes with lots of bell peppers and other peppers of choice and onions, dry whole& ground crayfish, shredded dry/smoked fish, shredded Norwegian stock fish, fermented locust beans, fresh palmoil, good bouillon cubes, beef stock and dawa-dawa to start with. 3. The Ogono smells legit, but I have not tasted it or the extra goatmeat i bought in it. I will taste it tomorrow and give an update. 4. The tilapia itself was very nice and well baked or grilled. The sauce on it, however, tasted sour but with a little more flavor than the previous sauces. The plantains were mostly fried alright but could use less heat and more cooking, so it cooks all the way through in the oil. (2 STARS) 5. Both the customer service I received over the phone and in person were impeccable!! The lady who attended to me was attentive, kind, professional, and respectful, and service was fast! (5 STARS) 6. The area the restaurant is located in is very nice, and the atmosphere in the restaurant was good. (4 STARS) 7. Would I go back there? Not for the stew or Egusi. But for the excellent customer service I received, Im willing to give other dishes a try.

When I called from a different number she had someone answer to tell me... its a DoorDash problem and there is nothing they could do for me. They put my pregnant sisters life in danger and didnt care at all. PLEASE PLEASE I beg you... be careful eating here. Its not safe. I am so disappointed

Ordered spinach with beef and white rice. Let s start with the meat it was the driest toughest meat I ve ever eaten. It was not edible in other words. The order was placed over the phone I was told 20mins, I arrived to restaurant and waited an additional 20mins. The spinach was crunchy , not cooked or prepared properly highly highly disappointed. The rice tasted like instant rice, hard and clumps through out container. Absolutely nothing authentic about this place. I m from Minnesota and we have some of the best Nigerian food. The meat is soft and tender practically falling apart and the spinach is stewed and soft. This place is a joke please don t waste your gas money or time going here.

I had the displeasure of trying this restaurant and here s my honest opinion. The jollof rice tastes like the flavorless rice served in the cafeteria of your primary and secondary schools. The efo is a far cry from actual efo-riro. I was served steamed vegetable seasoned with crayfish. The plantain and beef was bleh, and the stew was terrible. I was genuinely offended by the taste of the food. Given the limited selections on the menu, I d expect the recipe of the food served to be better than the bare minimum. If you aren t Nigerian please DO NOT eat meals from this restaurant as it would skew your perspective of what real Nigerian food tastes like.

None of my food was made fresh and everything lacked flavor and spice! I m actually confused like everything tasted bland. I ordered egusi, rice, and suya. The suya tasted sour and spoiled. The egusi had one piece of meat which is deceiving from the online order system. Nothing really left to say just disappointed because I was craving Nigerian food and wanted this to be good so bad and it wasn t! I recommend going to Zefires, Aso Rock, or Murphys instead. On the bright side the lady at the counter was nice.

The manager that works here has the worst attitude in the world. It s like she hates her job . She completely messed up my order then told me to drive a whole hour to give me my money back, to which we refused. She told me that she would give us a complimentary meal the next time I came, which was the next Sunday but that was never honored. In fact she called me a liar and only gave me $8 back out of a $40 plus dollar order. I wish things were different but there food is mediocre and they need to fire the manager girl at the front for poor customer service, unprofessional mannerisms, and they act like they always have a chip on their shoulders. I hate that I have to write this review because Ive loved everything about this restaurant ever since I discovered Kemis Kitchen. For years I have frequented this restaurant and almost always order Egusi as a side or entire meal. I walked in to place a to go order for Egusi with no meat. After getting home, I later discover my dish has meat all throughout, so much so that it cant be picked out. In addition, this stew is EXTREMELY thick and almost looks and taste like it was mixed with moi moi. When I contacted the restaurant, the young girl that took the order answered the phone and literally tried to argue that it was my fault for not explaining in more detail what I meant by no meat.... To make matters worse, I ask to speak to the manager who basic doubles down. She tells me in the 15 years theyve been making Egusi, its always had smoked turkey in it. Ive ordered for years and can guarantee that is not true. Orders prepared wrong happens no matter where you go. What I cannot accept is the HORRIBLE response and customer service both women displayed. For that alone, I will not order here again.

Well I was referred to this place by my African friend since Ive never had African food before and wanted to try something new other than chicken wings and fries. Or the common American foods. I did not read the other reviews on how tough the meat was. I just looked at the rating which was 4.0 so I was like hey lets give them a try. I got egusi stew with beef. And jollof rice with plantains and chicken. I tried the jollof rice and chicken first to notice the chicken was really hard and chewy. So I moved on to the egusi stew/soup which was good with the fufu. Again Ive never had African food before so I will be trying somewhere else to get a better experience. The beef in the egusi was just as hard and tough. I couldnt chewy either of the meats I purchased which just went to the trash. So 25.00 n some change just wasted my money on this food. Glad I didnt tip them. Not going back.!!!

Kudos to the owners for encouraging social pricing that encourages a sense of feel good, while spending.

To be honest their food taste good and the resturant is clean and smell nice but my first expirience with them is very very bad . 1# i ordered poundo , 1 fish , 1 beaf , 1 pomo . On my checkout i did not check my order bcos i believe you cant charge what you dont serve and i was wrong , it was little to half of the fish , same with the beaf and packed two pomo that been squese that not even up to 1 to make it look like a favor , in a short note dont sell what you dont have , it might be a mistake but it make you loose trust in marchant , let people get value of their money and if you want to give extra it a plus and you earn customer trust and that pounda is very very small common , why ? 1 wrap when other do 2 wraps and big . Thanks

The food was great don t get me wrong. The issue it that an owner of the place was trying to move the oven outside the door while customer was by the door and front desk. The door to the oven almost hit me while I was at check out. On top of that my man actually got hit on his foot with the metal door of the oven. If equipment needs to be moved out of the restaurant wait until there are no customers. Outside of business hours. Customer couldn t even come inside the entrance because that man had a oven blocking it.

I wish I could taste 0 stars!! Omg drove 30 mins to eat here! Worst mistake ever, the food was tough and cold. I m sure since it was late it was old. I tried the Fish, Fufu, Egusi, Goat and chicken etc.. All the meat was TUFF not tough! Very disappointed I will not go back. Still in search for some good quality African food I will not let this restaurant put a bad taste in my mouth for them all..

Would have given 5 stars had I had a whole piece of fish only small piece of half fish and Jollof rice and not so fresh plantain for 9.50 is a rip off I order through Uber never again, next time I will go to the store and order in person. Egusi taste very good o quite spicy but tasty will definitely order it again. I dont like the hard drumstick in my egusi I prefer the chunks of white meat. All and all its a good place they just drop the ball from time to time.

The food is delicious, the wait was not long and the customer service was wonderful. It s a 35 minute drive from my house but it s well worth the drive. I have went back twice within 1 week

I rarely give reviews but had to compliment this place. Sent my son to get me Jollof and Suya (First time to eat either) as I was looking for something different. It was out first time to order here and my son could not stop complimenting the customer service. He said the lady was super nice. And May I say the rice was awesome, my first time eating Jollof rice, thanks for the experience. *****

I haven t had FuFu in over a decade & was craving it. I was skeptical after reading reviews, but still wanted to try it out. The Egusi stew wasn t what I had in mind, but maybe it was just me & my acquired taste. The chewy & tough beef took me way out; it wasn t good just way too tough. I like tender meat. The FuFu was it was alright. I know it s supposed to be tasteless, but this FuFu was IDK. ??? What got me was when I ordered, I was expecting to pay menu prices but the young man told me that all prices were raised by $2. There are no notices or signs, so that caught me off guard. I won t be back personally, but I wish them well with business.

The fufu platter was alright. The goat meat was tough and gamey. The dining room was dark. The floor and tables were sticky. The trash can was overflowing. They took 20 minutes to give me my plantains and black eyed peas. My spouse took one look at the place and said no. I should have listened.

We took a chance on this African restaurant and it was a disaster. They gave us Suya which tested like it was 3 days old. It was not warm and the spices were dry and not juicy at all like it was put in a microwave after 3 days. She served it in a folic, when we asked her to give us a plate she said they serve it in Nigeria on newspapers so no plates for us. We had one bite it tasted horrible we paid for it and walked away. I would not recommend it.

Each time I ordered, they don t have what I ordered. Also I paid extra for a side of goat meat, got just one meat put on there. They charge you extra for your choice of meat on the egusi soup, only for you to get get just one. And the fish just had grounded pepper no real seasoning. Other than being a little spicy, it was pretty tasteless. Won t order again

The owners of the restaurant should be in their own kitchen preparing the food for the people not allowing these random people to prepare the food because the food is not good as it could be it was terrible today and the last couple of times Ive been in there the food has not been good at all this is not good other restaurants the owners are in the kitchen themselves preparing their food to make sure the customers are happy but this particular one is not the same you have to do better
