Incredible wine bar in Georgetown. My husband and I just moved back and we re so happy to have such a gem in our area. The wine selection is impressive, service is attentive and friendly, and the space is just beautiful. This is definitely our new favorite spot in town! Very nice atmosphere with a decent wine collection. I love the concept and vibes and would definitely come here with a date or small group of friends. It would be especially nice with pleasant outdoor weather as the patio is quite large and comfortable. 4 stars only due to pricing, $17 dollar spritz, not made with prosecco, is very high and was only about half full.

Union Merchant is the epitome of eclectic. Since its beginning as a blacksmith and buggy repair shop in 1919, it became an auto repair shop in 1950 and a transmission shop in 1980. Its genre was totally changed in 2013 as it was restored into an event center and evolved into Union Merchant, serving wine, beer, and creative and unique finger foods and offering mercantile items. Large and open, it s a great place to hang out, meet friends, share stories and have fun. And if you look closely at the rafters, you can make out the names and numbers written in chalk of car parts from yesteryear.

The perfect space for Georgetown. Just off the square and has by far the best patio in town. Wine selection and snacks are great. Also a really nice offering of N/A Beverages. Boutique store inside has great items too. My wife and I love coming here!

On a calm evening, with the cafe lights setting the mood, spanish guitar melodizing in the background, and a smooth Italian red there s not a better place to take my wife out for date night. When the lawn is open and they have live music playing, it s one of the most relaxing places to enjoy a night just off the Square. You gotta try this place out!

Came here for a couple glasses of Prosecco on a beautiful evening and really enjoyed the vibes! I ll definitely pass by on my next time driving to Austin. Vegetarian options: I was able to get a charcuterie board with cheese only

This is my favorite wine spot in the greater Austin area. The staff is knowledgable and passionate. The owner Michael always has great suggestions of new wines he has brought in and remembers what we like to drink. The patio courtyard is lovely. Great cheeseboards and snacks. I live local and am here a couple times a week!

I cant say enough good things about Union Merchant. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, the staff is friendly and professional, the food is excellent, and the wine and beer are absolutely top notch. This is my go to place for a date night, night out with friends, or just relaxing after work. If you havent experienced it for yourself, youre missing out. This is the kind of local business Im happy to support and which adds to the unique local flavor of Georgetown.

Not kid friendly. Simply put, establishment should be (21+) to avoid expectations/confusion. Not a place for customers with children who are considering a spot for kids to enjoy enclosed grounds with parental supervision, while sipping on a glass of wine.

We were there when the party came in that has provided a bad review for Union Merchant. We watched as people left because of what was happening. The owner handled it as professionally as anyone could. In fact, there were other children there that were sitting at their table and no one left because of them. Its a wine bar/shop - not a daycare. If you want a spot to let your kids run around and play, Founders Park next to Sweet Lemon is the perfect place to go. If you want the perfect place to share a a glass of wine, Union Merchant is absolutely the best place in town to do so!

We attempted coming here for my birthday to get together with friends, and it turned out to be one of the most embarrassing evenings of my life. We have been residents of Georgetown for a while and have come to this place a couple of times with our children and thought it was an amazing and very laid back spot to relax and have a glass of wine; so my sweet husband thought it would be fun to ask my friends with their families (as we ve seen families with kids there before) to meet us up there for a glass of wine, charcuterie boards, and snacks. We honestly didn t think it was going to be a big deal getting together here as Downtown Georgetown is a super family friendly atmosphere and we re in Downtown Georgetown almost every weekend. We did not ask for any special services and knew tables were going to be on a first come first serve basis, and everyone was just going buy to buy their own drinks and snacks. Here was when it went so wrong a lady (I m guessing she was a part of the Union Merchant team) approached my friend who did not even have kids there, and scolded her in a very ugly, rude, and embarrassing way, then scolded at me saying something along the lines of can you do something about these kids and get them under control this is not the VIBE we are going for and walked away! I was in shock, that has never happened to me before. I think it would ve been fine and we would ve understood if the approach was nicer, but she was super ugly to us! All you had to do was let us know nicely that this environment wasn t for children. We ve been to many outdoor wine places that are kid friendly, so how would we have known. We were ready to give y all a lot of business. And I m pretty sure it was the owner who then came up and talked to my husband and I and honestly, what he said to us was fine, but I wished he had done it in a more private manner as I felt super embarrassed in front of everyone. No one deserves to feel belittled. I m just really disappointed in how it was handled professionally, but out of respect for their business, we left and felt the best VIBES at Sweet Lemon Kitchen and Kork. Go there guys!!

Communicated w the establishment prior to arrival about hosting a friends birthday party there this evening with multiple families in attendance. Upon arrival, with the kids under adult supervision, the staff rudely informed our party that the kids being there wasn t the vibe that they were going for. We firsthand understand well behave and poorly behaved children, as responsible adults and well aware parents. If you didn t want families with children there, be upfront about it before the whole party arrives and we would have planned to host the event at an entirely different location. Needless to say, the families who were there and treated with disrespect by the staff will surly not be returning or recommending this establishment to friends/family. Very unfortunate, bc as locals we picked this location, because we had prior positive experiences there before.

Our new favorite place!! My husband and I love to visit the square and are thrilled with this new place. Not only are the staff knowledgeable they are extremely friendly. We had a glass of the suggested wine and loved it. We also ordered the charcuterie board which was pure perfection. It included fresh honeycomb and oh my gosh!!! We especially loved the very pleasant and cute outside seating area. (They even let us park our bikes in the back area while we visited.) Inside there is not only a nice selection of curated wines, there are gifts and beautiful and unique home decor. Highly recommend and I know we will be back often.

Love this place! Stumbled upon it while walking around the neighborhood on their opening weekend. Cute aesthetic, tucked away in a nice little spot. The staff is very pleasant. Stumbled upon this new wine shop and enjoyed a lovely sparkling wine on the outside patio. Such a beautiful and peaceful vibe. Every detail is so thoughtful and gorgeous - even the bathroom! The wine and retail are all super unique and the owner is extremely friendly. Love the transformation of this historic building. Will definitely be coming back and would recommend it to anyone!
