Been a member almost 3 years since relocating to Texas. Didnt know what to expect after coming from a academy full of Black Belts. NBTCBJJ did not and has not disappointed. Best Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in the New Braunfels and San Antonio Metro Plex. Come check out our new high level Black Belt Professor from Brazil. I have been attending NBTC BJJ for just under 3 months now and I have now become part of a family. The owner, Mark Garcia, his wife and his son are extremely friendly and welcoming of everyone from Black belt to children s white belt. Professor Marco is extremely knowledgeable and talented in his own right sharing his knowledge from his own personal experience from winning high-level Jiu Jitsuu competitions. I can t recommend this gym enough. It is the original BJJ gym in New Braunfels and has been around for over a decade.

I am a black belt from out of state. I called around other gyms, and they wouldnt allow drop ins (thats a huge red flag in this sport), but New Braunfels Training Center welcomed me with no questions asked. More red flags I see is the amount of reviews on other gyms profiles, when the only pictures showing are small class sizes of just white belts or pictures of multiple gym locations. With NBTC what you see is what you get. They are truthful and honest. They are up to every industry standard. As far as their jiu jitsu goes, they are strong, technical players and they arent afraid to measure up their jiu jitsu to people outside of the team. That shows strength, confidence and transparency. Everything you want in a gym that is supposed to be teaching those qualities to your children.

If you want to be a lion, you have to train with lions - something like that is posted on the wall in the gym and it couldnt be truer. NBTC has a LOT of skill, experience, and energy. If you want to learn world-class Jiu Jitsu, learn a lot, and have fun, this is your place. Even better, although you might be training with lions, they are very nice lions. Everyone is always ready to help you learn, the owners of the gym (Mark & Billy) are literally the nicest, and the instructor (Eduardo) is there to really lead you to your best JJ abilities. Seriously, this gym is a no-brainer!

NBTC is an amazing gym if anyone is interested in learning Jiu Jitsu. Since joining I have been welcomed with open arms and built a good start to me learning jiu jitsu mainly due to the high level instructors and the other folks along for the ride in their pursuit to learn jiu jitsu.The facility is excellent they have super clean mats, clean changing rooms and restrooms. I feel comfortable knowing the ownership takes pride in their facility and their customers, it isn t abnormal to see the OWNERS cleaning the mats in between training sessions! If anyone s looking to get into jiu jitsu or looking for a great workout look no further you won t be disappointed.

I started training at NBTC after a lifetime of wrestling. I made the transition to jujitsu and am so happy I did so with NBTC. The gym is very first responder /veteran friendly and really goes out of the way to to support those that serve the community by offering free and discounted trainings. The instructors are top notch, and some of them are even ranked in the top 10 of the IBJJF world rankings. This group of people support each other and push each other to succeed in and out of the gym. Can t recommend this place enough.

I heard a lot of good things about this gym and the professor , but I came to check it out and the entire place is covered in dust and debris. After a look around I knew this place wasn t for me. You can t even see the ceiling fans due to the caked on dust. The bathroom was pretty nauseating as well. Sticky and smelly floors.. sticky and smelly doors.. It s mind blowing they can pass a health inspection. I can not imagine myself training here due to the negligence of cleanliness. I wouldn t want to be in such a filthy environment let alone workout somewhere like that.

I trained here for a little over a year, and every time I stepped through the doors and onto the mat, I felt as if I was a part of something bigger. The instructors were top-notch, and everyone there was invested in the group, as a whole, getting better every day. I have not been able to find another gym that feels like home the way NBTC made me feel. Hands down, the best Brazilian Jiu Jitsu training in New Braunfels. Period. I had the privilege to train with NBTC while I was working in the NB area for about 6 months. Mark employs a full time coach with world class accolades backed by a friendly environment where everyone feels like they are part of a community and the community strives to get better. I have trained at dozens of Jiu Jitsu gyms in my 8 years of experience. Without a doubt this was my favorite gym that I got to call home on the road and can t wait to come back, visit, and roll. If you re looking for self defense, exercise, competition community, sense of belonging stop looking. From day 1 walking into NBTC BJJ the owners were very welcoming. They showed me around the gym and was very clean and neat. The students that attend here are all awesome people and will always make you feel welcomed and help you out if you need help. During the pandemic, once the gym re-opened they also went above and beyond to make sure all CDC guidelines were met and everyone was in good health condition before entering gym. This is our first experience with any type of martial arts and we have been very impressed. Our 4 children plus my husband are in classes and absolutely love it. The owner s son teaches the 3-6 year old class and does so well with our 5 year old who has ADHD/sensory disorder. The instructors for the older kids and adult classes are amazing. We even loved the previous instructor. This was recommended to us to help with ADHD and we are so glad we chose NBTC. They are not only welcoming but make you feel like family. Nothing but love and support in the gym and at tournaments. 100% recommended.

I dropped in here after being off the mats for the better part of 5 months (nurse working with COVID19 patients) . Professor Ruan Oliviera very nicely worked me over like it was my first class. Im a black belt from a well respected school in the Dallas area of a different affiliation. The owner, Mark, was very welcoming and invited me back. I can assure you it was not because I was impressive. Great place for anyone to train. Great atmosphere. Great facility. Waiting area, changing area, bathroom and shower.

NBTC is a great place to learn the art of Brazilian jiu jitsu, whether youve had prior experience or are just starting out. I moved here several months ago and was welcomed by everyone at NBTC. All the instructors are here to help you reach your training goals, whatever they might be. Classes are offered for children as young as four, theres a womens only class once a week, and if your schedule is different, i.e. youre a student or dont work a traditional 9-5 job, in addition to evening classes, there are noon classes and weekend open mats. We decided to try out NBTC last month after calling other jiu-jitsu places in the area and I am very glad we did! I absolutely love it and so does my 11 yr old Son. Coach Carlos takes his time and is very patient and attentive to the children. I love that he doesnt take it too easy on them. I would definitely recommend this establishment for all ages! Its such a good fun sport and I wish I wouldve started my son ALOT sooner. I really appreciate the respect, discipline, sportsmanship and encouragement that goes with it.
