We went as a family and we loved the place. The food and the excellent service. There was no time to take photos of the food, it was delicious. We traveled over 1 hour to get there, but it was worth it.

Our first visit. We arrived at 5 pm on a Monday and there was only 5 other tables present. I think we beat the rush! PROS All portions are large so be prepared to take some home! Everything was cooked very well and served hot! The staff was nice and friendly. The atmosphere was casual and nice. They do offer a discount to military. FISH: The regular fried catfish was cooked to perfection! We really enjoyed the flavor. SIDES: 1. The fried okra was cooked just right and enjoyed by us both. I was told that they cut the okra and batter on site. 2. The Steamed Cabage is not steamed. It is boiled and seasoned just like most southern mamas cook it and its good! Dont know why the menu said steamed? 3. Pinto beans were fully cooked and hot. Seasoned well. 4. The green beans were also cooked and seasoned well. 5. Mashed potatoes are good and made from cooked potatoes and not instant. I was told they cut their own potatoes for the fries, too. CONS: ICE TEA: The ice tea was way too weak and probably the weakest Ive ever had in a Texas restaurant! It tasted more like water than tea. I told the young waitress when she brought me a second glass and it was the same. I could see other pitchers sitting around and that tea was much darker. I believe someone ran hot water through the last batch of tea leaves a second time. I stated so and ordered a soft drink. I dont think anyone tried to resolve the tea issue. For dessert we both ordered the key lime pie. We were told it was made on site, so we had to try. It to was very good. It wasnt green like most you get that is artificially colored. This was more like if you made it at home. We will be back again.

Second time eating at this location, second time everyone who ate with us spent the whole night being extremely sick. Definitely not the CfP I remember, where everything tasted fresh and clean. Everything we ate this time had the patina of food sitting in warming trays for a long time before being served. Things that were supposed to be crisp were tough and things that were supposed to be tender were soggy. I definitely couldnt recommend this to anyone in good conscience. If the food was just poor quality, that would be one thing. But literally making everyone we dined with sick all evening following dinner is an absolute no go.

The restaurant? It s an easy going, old world looking establishment kitted for both large groups and couples. Fair enough, however, worth noting: It s new menu addition Fish & Chips. This is a 5 star tasty meal, world class, exceptional value. It delivers on white fish flakes, superb but subtle taste, the batter is not oily and also not overdone or overpowering. I have eaten F&Cs throughout the world, and Catfish Parlour F&C makes the grade of World Class A .

This was the 1st time I have been to this location. We were in the area and happened to notice it on Williams Dr. after we had finished running errands, We stopped in for a bite. The decor was almost exactly like the South Austin location, and its always fun to see the vintage signs hanging. This was also a first for me with the lunch buffet. This was a nice and pleasant time to go and everything was good. Thank you.

I really am sad about where Catfish Parlour has gone to over the last few years. I have been a customer for many, many years, but moved away from the area a couple of years ago. We recently had the chance to visit again, and we were so disappointed. The waitress seemed to be almost annoyed that she had a group of 9 to take care of. I understand how inflation had hurt everyone, but they are counting the tiny salad bar as a side now. The fried okra was anything but tasty, and the pieces of fish were about half the size they used to be. The hushpuppies are something I have thought of many times, and even they were a bit of a disappointment. If we still lived in the area, I truly do not think we would return, and that hurts my heart.

Fantastic fish! Cooked to perfection. The fried catfish is crunchy and tender and not at all greasy ! The grilled fish was great! It was cooked till done but still very moist and tender, and their seasonings are very flavorful, they complement the fish wonderfully without over- whelming. I havent had better fish without spending megabucks!

Anyways moral to my review, this right here was worth every penny. We are so full, service was amazing by Brandon B. He did a fantastic service. Fast and always made sure we were good every time. I high key recommend his service and I highly recommend the fried Cajun oysters and to top off the bread pudding They say Red Bull give you wings but this bread pudding gave life .. Don t miss out and just come oh and yes the hush puppies are .

The food is literally exactly what you would expect. Mid-level but still pretty tasty fried everything, I loved the mac and cheese It had a nice crunchy browned crust on top. The only weird thing is they brought me a menu for happy hour to my table and when I tried to order off it they told me it was for the bar only, two people came around and told me it was for the bar only but I could order it if I wanted to. And then another person came and told the waitress its for the bar only. It seems like if the host clearly had an accident giving me the menu, they would just get over it and train him to not give it to diners sitting at tables. Kid-friendliness: They are accommodating to children and they have specials for them

I grew up eating and working at Catfish Parlour on 290 (South location) and have refused to eat catfish anywhere else. I was elated to see that the original owner, David, had opened this location in Georgetown. The outside looks a bit fancier but the inside is decked out in traditional old school decor to include the infamous Burma Shave signs. Highly recommend their lunch set up. You pick a meat for your entree from the cook and then the sides/hushpuppies/salad bar are buffet style. We got a table of 6 in and out of there in less than 45 min for an average of $15/person. Their catfish filets are the best - white and flaky as theyre Mississippi farm raised and not run of the mill dirt catfish. The beer cornmeal batter is thin but crunchy. Those long thin hushpuppies are a meal in and of themselves. My team also loved the mayo free coleslaw and bought some mixes to take with them.

It was a little better. The jumbo shrimp was bigger than the fish filets. The didnt have the cuccumber salad and the salad bar doesnt come with your meal anymore. We paid $19 for 2 shrimp and 3 catfish filets. SO GOOD, YALL!! The best meal weve had since we moved down here! We had the All American combo - salad bar, catfish, popcorn shrimp, fries, cucumber salad, and cole slaw. (Comes with salad bar, fish, shrimp, french fries and 2 sides) Couldnt finish it all. And our waitress was the BOMB! Thank you, Theresa, for the awesome service! Definitely going back!

Today is the first time my daughter & me ate here. Overall the food was good, small portions & overpriced, but these days everything is. 4 peice gulf shrimp & big catfish plates were $18.00 each. A dozen hushpuppies were $5.00, 1 order of cobbler is $6.00. The atmosphere is really cool & fun, reminds me of several places in Austin. These days you couldnt pay me to go back. However, the service was not a good experience. The only person that was polite is the man that greeted us & took us to our booth. The waitress treated us like we were a nuisance. She brought a bowl of hushpuppies and our drinks while we looked at the menu. The menu says the plates come w/hushpuppies, fries and 1-2 sides depending on what you order. Our food came out quickly and hot. After a few minutes we realized we didnt have hushpuppies on the plate, no big deal. When we asked the waitress about the hushpuppies she looked at us as if we were idiots while pointing at the bowl she gaves us before we ordered. My daughter and I said oh ok, we didnt know sorry. No response she just walked off. We didnt know those are considered part of your plate before you even order, no big deal. My daughter and I eat out once a month so asking for things, in a new place to us, was forgotten/scattered. I forget things quit often which is an issue for me, with that said. She saw us looking around and came to the table, I asked for extra lemons and an order of hushpuppies to go. When she walked off I realized I forgot to ask for containers to take our leftovers. When she came back I asked for the containers and added an order of cobbler to go. She looked very annoyed & handed me a big bowl of lemons asking if I had enough now, then walked off. When she came back she asked in a very sarcastic way, with her hands held up infront of her; is there anything else you need, are sure you dont need anything else?. I stated I wasnt trying to be difficult and we apologized. Because we had her going back and forth I had planned on leaving a bigger tip than what I usually do. The place was not busy maybe 3 tables taken w/us included. Plenty of staff, there was a group of girls standing around talking, it was slow. As we all know, the tip left reflects the experience a customer had. People know me as one to tip too much. Many times I have left nearly a 50% tip. Normally about 30-40%. I like helping people & sometimes that tip is what fills your gas tank, buys diapers, formula or even medications. I know all too well that sometimes tips can help out emmensly. I feel bad for this but, the bill was $57 all I left her was $3. It doesnt feel good being treated like youre an inconvenience to people. I have worked at the clinic down the street from there for 5 years now & had never stopped in to eat there. Honestly, I dont think I will go back.

-edit- owner posted a reply to my review & asked for my feedback without providing any means of contacting them Id love to let them know who I was talking about on Saturday 4/20 early afternoon while there were only 4 or 5 other tables in the restaurant. The server in question had a section which included the booths to the right of the restrooms if you happened to be standing facing the restrooms with the salad bar behind you. She had dark hair, was wearing shorts, appeared to be 40+ years old, gave the host (manager? owner?) attitude & an obvious condescending look when she had to take 10 seconds to wipe down her booth because new guests preferred it over a free-standing table. I would LOVE to provide more detail if you let me know how to contact you (there is no contact us link on your website) ------ Cheapest prices in town for very decent food. Our server was great, but the lady in the next section over was so loud, brash, off-putting, and borderline rude to her guests & the rest of the staff, that she single-handedly brought the overall service score down 2 stars. I feel bad for anyone who has to actually deal with her personally instead of just listening to her interactions (does she really need to YELL across the restaurant multiple times to tell the bar that shes ringing in a coors light???). If I EVER have the misfortune of sitting in this ladys section, Ill just leave rather than deal with her.

First time here and the experience was great. They serve hush puppies like mexican restaurants serve chips n salsa. Scrumptious! The All American catfish plate was delectable. A side of green beans with bacon bits were mouth wateringly tasty. Great atmosphere all around.

Atmosphere was cute and service quick. I live out of state, so good fried Catfish is a goal every trip to Texas. Sadly, this was disappointing. Only so-so. The green beans were well seasoned. The fries tasted as though theyd been recooked. Food

Havent been to any Catfish Parlour since they closed the one on US 183. Had to go to Georgetown and decided to try that CP for supper. BOY, Im sure glad we did!! Great catfish, beans and slaw were spot-on, and the hushpuppies were YUMMO!! Almost bottomless bowl, and we all love their Jalepeno tartar sauce. Service was fantastic! If were down that way again on a Friday, I know where well be eating

Havent been to Catfish Parlor in about a decade. I remember loving it but based strictly off the food alone I will not come back. The atmosphere was great, manager was friendly but the food was bland to me, nearly flavorless. $25 for all you can eat fish. Food

I ve been coming here since I was 7/8 years old. And now I work here. Seeing how everything runs and getting to work for Chris is awesome. This place has always been a part of my life and family. I absolutely love working here and the serving the people that come in. I now take my son here, he lives some mashed taters! The food is amazing and truly homemade. The staff is fun and hardworking. And the desserts are to die for!! Kid-friendliness: Kids 3 and under eat free! And there s a bunch of quarter machines in the lobby

I ordered the senior fish p ate which comes with 3 pieces of fish. The fish was good, but the pieces were very small. The hushpuppies were mediocre, as were the steamed cabbage and coleslaw.

I HOPE YOU ARE HUNGRY! Fried Catfish (gluten free) was excellent. I chose beans and cabbage as sides and both were very good. Service is a tad slow, but consistent. Celiac safe. Dedicated fryer for gluten free. Not too many places know how to make great cocktail sauce, but they do. Just the right amount of horseradish flavor without it going through your nose. I plan to return soon.

If you want decent fried catfish in a nice casual atmosphere with good service come here. The fish is slightly bland for my taste, even the spicy Cajun, but the sides more than make up for it (especially their insanely good hush puppies) as does the green jalapeno tartar sauce. They also still have a salad bar, which is nice, because they seem to be disappearing. All in all, well worth the money.

Really good place to come and have home cooked food. The catfish was excellent, the chicken fried steak was delicious. The sides could have been a little fresher but they were very tasty. The service could not have been better. Attentive, friendly, and right on top of everything.

Absolutely horrible and no flavor whats so ever! I was being lazy and didnt want to cook dinner and now I horribly regret it. The fish was VERY dark, as if it was old. Tasteless and dry. The fries were cold and old, hush puppies were burnt and old, and the pinto beans were just gross! I never review places but my palette would not allow me to bypass warning others with a seasoned tongue!

Great place to fill your hunger. This trip the variety of our selections were: Fried Shrimp, Chicken Fried Steak, Lite Catfish spicy and plain combo, coleslaw, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, French fries and Pinto beans. A visit here would not be complete without eating their version of Hush Puppies. Dipped in their Jalapeño tartar sauce makes my day.

Weve been going to Catfish parlour for years, but the last several times weve been the food has been disappointing. Our most recent trip they changed their fries and they were so hard and cold they were not edible. The catfish has gotten much smaller and was very dry, mostly batter, very little fish. Requested spicy and didnt get it again this time. Most things lack in the freshness and flavor they used to have. Service was wonderful as always
