The staff at the outdoor pool is horrible. There are at least 7 life guards and only 2 are watching the outdoor pool and the other 5 are sitting at a picnic table. No help at all. Only rude faces and attitudes.

Best swimming pool in Central Texas in my families opinion. We drive all the way from Killeen and pay the day pass rate so my wife, 3 year old son and me can swim and play in the splash pad area. $12 for the day for the 3 of us, I believe thats a nonresident rate. Pool is very well maintained and safety staff are really on it. Nice folks and kids having a great time. The swimming lanes are where you can get a serious workout, lighter workout in the shallows next to the lanes. Swim classes.. Theres WAY more to this rec center than the pool, we just havent checked it out yet and we really should. Friendly and helpful staff, very well maintained facilities from what Ive seen. Year round family fun.

Their inability to properly schedule events makes things very difficult. My family had to park at San Gabriel Park for a volleyball game because they allow the swim parents to takeover the grounds of the rec center.

Pool closes early and is often filled with hair, bandaids, bugs, etc... Pool also closes for bad weather when lightning is present since the pump system is outside and not convinced the staff like to open it back up when lightning stops. Not enough storage for personal items, gym can get crowded. Parts of Rec will close for 3rd party internal events and external events as well as holidays. I recommend paying by day and being prepared to turn around if not open or enough space. If you need routine this isnt it.

Very nice place to walk the dogs and do a little training because there are a lot of people walking thiers dogs. The place is big so can can get good exercise in. The center has a pool, that I want to look into. Want to add, anyone I ran in to over there, random people, were so nice.

Overall the Rec Center is great. The only suggestion I have more improvement in how the space is used. There are a NUMBER of empty rooms every time I am there. They are set aside for teen or senior events but, honestly, and we go often, Ive seen one room used twice and all the other sit empty and dark. We are talking about ~20% of the total size of the place sitting unused. Those could be used for ping pong rooms for all ages or even repurposed to put some of the workout classes in them to get the top workout area less congested at night with walker, runners, spin classes and HIIT classes which gets people nearly running into each other.

This is not really a pool . Its pretty much a large splash pad. The deepest area is 4ft and you cant even swim there because its the slide area. Compared to other pools the lifeguards seemed pretty rude. This place is only good for splashing around if you really want to swim look elsewhere.

Although you do get a bit of services with the membership GT Rec Center has the ability to do better. We pay a nice little bit for a family membership just to have things for kid and myself to enjoy in summer. However what wasnt told to us is days that the pools are closed we CAN NOT use membership at other pools in Georgetown even though they are all ran by GT. You have to buy a separate summer pass for them or pay as you go for each visit. WHY cant GT combine these it isnt like we dont pay enough on taxes or water bill to cover it !!!!!!

Called at the end of the month to have my membership cancelled. They said I d be charged for the next month due to a pending charge and to wait until the end of the next month to receive my refund. At the end of the next month I received an email with an invoice, I called the front desk and was informed my membership was not cancelled when I called previously. I asked about my refund and she said she didn t know how to handle my situation, she took my info and said the front desk woman would return my call asap. It s been half a month and I ve received no phone call and I m short $30.

So helpful and made sure we had the full tour and had our questions answered. Even though we are not considered residents due to where we live in Georgetown, the cost for a couples membership is very manageable and worthwhile.

This is a really nice recreation center. It is always spotlessly clean and well organized. The grounds are well-kept. My grandchildren play sports here and have really enjoyed their participation. It is also situated next to a nice outdoor playground with shade, picnic tables, and even book share box. The park surrounding the center is beautiful with lots of wide open space and lovely trees.

I m reviewing only the outdoor pool. Hours reduce way down in early August. The water activities in the pool are fine (mushroom dome, one working and one broken water gun, a small kiddie slide, 3 small tube water slides), but the pool size itself is way too small. The deepest water is 3 6 - the deeper 4 water is behind buoys near the slides and you cannot swim in it, it is strictly for exiting the slides only. This pool is best for very small children - probably 6 and younger. The turtle and ladybug water features at the beach style gradual entrance are not allowed to be climbed on by children, which is odd and frustrating that they are even there, directly in the small child area. The water slides are small - again, best for small children, except that they steeply drop a good 12-18 into 4 water and lifejackets are not allowed, so I m not actually sure the target audience of those. They require a mandatory pool closing for 15 minute intervals multiple times a day - we were not told about this when we arrived, which happened to be about 5 mins before a closing. So it sucked getting all the kids in the pool only to have to drag everyone out to sit on the sidelines for 15 minutes. TLDR; it s fine for tiny kids for brief play if you avoid the times they make you sit out of the pool for 15 mins at a time, for older kids (6+) any of the city pools in Round Rock are better choices.

So I love this place, and have been coming to this rec since it opened. I have a yearly membership for my son and I do monthly. 4 because aside from the basketball court and maybe swimming, my 12 yr old son cant do anything else. The teen center has been shut down and I guess doesnt care to reopen for the public. I get there is going to be basketball and volleyball practices that take up some of the courts, just leave some space for the little guys to play and stay entertained

This is one of the the very best parts of Georgetown TX. This amazing facility is very inexpensive and all their Silver Sneakers classes are free to those over 55. Clean facilities, truly caring staff and instructors. Lots of room & equipment and an indoor pool. Membership includes use of all the facility and free access to many of the fitness classes offered. This facility has been a huge part of my recovery from wheelchair to walking.

Meet was on a Friday and I assume many working parents werent able to attend Cant imagine how it would have been if meet had been held on the weekend when more parents could attend. Very disappointed!!! Full disclosure for over 20+ years I have mentored kids through basketball. The cool part is I get to work with my 3 sons as they strive to pursue their dreams... It has been great Father and Son bonding time. Today while mentoring my three sons and a couple of their friends I was approached by the supervisor. Her words to me where you cannot train kids here. I explained to her that I was working with my sons and their friends and Im not charging anybody. Mind you I pay a monthly membership fee and Im investing my time into my kids and their friends who all pay for a membership there. The supervisor said I googled you and I know youre a trainer. I wonder if she googles every Father that comes there with his son or daughter? Be advised if you work with your kids you might be googled!!! Sadly I will not be going back to Georgetown rec center its unfortunate because Im a part of the Georgetown community. If this is considered great service its not a place that I would ever want to invest money. Perception is reality is what she said to me and I said to her reality is reality and the reality is my three sons and their friends who I was working with today dont pay me a dime to sow into their lives. So thank you Georgetown Rec for thinking perception is reality....

The Rec Center staff are amazing. I dont even have a membership but I pulled into the parking lot with a flat tire and Leland from the front desk helped me put on the spare and showed me how to do it in the future. He even used the air pump for basketballs to put more air in my spare tire. Im so grateful to him and the other front desk staff for being so kind and helpful.

I just became a member today, in fact, my whole family did. The process was fast and simple. I would recommend that you download and fill out the waiver beforehand. It goes much faster. While you can do the process online, you will have to go eventually to get your pictures taken and pick up your cards. We shall see if everything that they have to offer is worth the price.

Exercise galore. This place is a gem. They offer a ton of things to do including instructor led exercise classes, weight room, basketball, volleyball, raquetball, running track (1/13 mile) ping pong, video games, pool, foosball, splash pool, and competition pool. The instructors are the best. The staff is great also. There is a strong sense of staying in shape in lots of Georgetown and the rec center helps. There is lots of parking and overflow parking. The rec center is right at the park, so you can also run outside, BBQ, fish, disc golf, kite fly, picnic, etc. The indoor / outdoor cross training class is advanced and tough, but very enjoyable. The indoor cycle class is intermediate to advanced and always a good workout.

They offer a great Pilates class which is part of the membership and a few other options such as yoga and Tabata. The actual gym is a little small and can get busy at certain times. They have a nice indoor running track and an indoor pool. As well as a smaller outdoor pool/splash pad. I m looking forward to taking my toddler to the splash pad this summer. The cost of membership is also quite reasonable compared what regular gyms cost. I m so glad that we have the rec center here in Georgetown

Love the outdoor trail that is at the park next to the recreation center. My son attended a swim party there. It was very clean and appeared to be well maintained. There seems to be someone always at the service desk to guide and assist those coming into the center. I dont live close enough to this facility but if I did I would definitely utilize it.
