Ive been visiting El Nuevo Mexico Restaurant for about 6 months now, and it s nacho average Tex-Mex spot! Every meal is a fiesta for my taste buds I ve sampled almost everything on the menu, but the chili relleno and fajita ranchera really guac my world. The atmosphere is always salsa-rific, especially at the bar. Brenda, the bartender, is simply en fuego! Shes as attentive as a hawk eyeing tacos and knows how to shake up conversation just as well as she shakes up drinks. Her virgin piña colada is so good, its a-peeling. I ve never had a bad meal or a dull moment here definitely worth a visit. Tacos bout a great place!

We ve always had the same waitress, Victoria, since we started eating here. She s been amazing. My son doesn t care for burritos, but keeps wanting to go back for burritos at El Nuevo Mexico. He also raves about the way the restaurant is decorated and how fast he gets his food. We ve all really enjoyed everything we ve tried there so far.

Originally had nothing but great things to say about this place, but as of now, I m hardly impressed. Came here for brunch, and for the amount spent on two people, we could have gone to iHop or Dennys and had better food, better coffee, and feed another person. Staff is polite, and attentive but that doesn t make up for lack of quality when it came to the food. The eggs were bland, bacon over cooked, pancakes had a cheap batter taste to them, barely any meat in our barbacoa tacos, the fruit was on the edge of being too gone, and the coffee was terrible and watery. The menudo was okay, very meaty but the flavor could have been better. I really hope they make adjustments to produce a better quality of food because I very much want to like this place. Unfortunately as it stands I don t think you re moneys worth here.

How does this place have good reviews overall? Everything we tried was completely bland. Queso seemed like just cheese, guacamole seemed to be just avocado, etc. Tasteless and overpriced. Our server Araceli was very nice and attentive. The food was good and came out steaming hot. The margarita was ok. The water and tea tasted really bad. It had a well water taste to it. Adding lemon didn t help. So we ordered Diet Coke but it also had the same aftertaste. Fresh tasting water is so important when dining out.

I had the lunch special with a beef taco and cheese enchilada and a small scoop of avocado. The taco meat was cold so didn t eat it and requested a credit on the taco. I was concerned with salmonella. The manager said it was part of the lunch special and he couldn t take it off. Then he said he would credit the meal. He was very arrogant and said we came in close to the 3:00 deadline. My husband had just finished a treatment at Texas Ontology at 11:30 and our battery was dead when we left the oncologist so we had not eaten all day. We arrived at 2:30. He said I had eaten half my meal which was the one enchilada a the scoop of avocado no beans or rice were included with the meal. He was short and argumentative. Something I didn t want to deal with but he seemed to enjoy the authority. A manger should be courteous and concerned if the food is cold but he made excuses. When we received the bill he had taken off $4.00. I tipped the waiter $10.00 of a 35.00 bill. Shame on you for hiring someone that did not have training in customer service!

Lets get down to it. Ive lived in Texas for a while here and its always such a confusing situation when it comes to the Mexican food. They do this thing out here called Tex-Mex. It looks like Mexican food but theres nothing Mexican about it. Things like tomato sauce on chilaquiles. I dont think that this place was trying to be authentic in the first place. But dont think that this is some sort of Nuevo style Mexican cuisine. If youre looking for a Mexican food place thats never going to offend your Texas taste buds then this is the place for you. The presentation isnt great. The food was plentiful and a decent quality and the service was fine and ambience was fine. With all the options that you have when it comes to Mexican food in this town I would say dont bother coming here. And no chips and salsa for a sit-down Mexican place really??

Excellent restaurant to try Mexican food, the flavor is very good, the portions are quite large and the service is first class, from the moment you arrive, good Jordan takes great care of you and they are attentive to your table, the facilities are very nice, good drinks and I consider that the cost is quite proportional to what they offer, I highly recommend the stuffed avocado and the poblano enchiladas, the tortilla chips and the raw salsa are delicious!

Worst $30 Ive spent in my life. Food is bland, poor presentation. I ordered the bistec plate and the meat was tough and overcooked. My friend ordered the ceviche tostadas and said that it was basically ketchup and veggies with shrimp, flavorless. Very disappointed with the food quality. The server was nice and attentive. Really good food and great vibe. We loved this place. Our waitress Alejandra made it so special for us. We have been wanting to try this place for a long time now and yesterday we just decided to check it out. It was really good. They bring out chips and salsa so we didn t order any appetizer. For mains I had veggie fajita and my husband had the Poblano chicken. He was really happy. He said it was really good. My fajitas were really tasty too. They also have handmade corn and flour tortillas. Such yummy food, friendly service, beautiful restaurant. We will definitely be back and thinking about taking my in-laws there too.

It s cinco de mayo and there is a band. I arrived after 7:30. They close at 8. I m in the middle now f eating and the manager won t serve me a marg because it s after 8. The waitress brings me a to go and I drink it then and there. The manager comes by to tell me I can t do that. In the meantime she is setting up 20-30 drinks for staff. I point that out and that I know TABC rules as a seasoned bar tender. My beef- not that they wanted me out of there, lied to me about why I couldn t enjoy the experience as I should have, but why did you seat me at all if you were going to diminish the experience. Went to have lunch with my husband here for the first time since Casa Ole closed down! We ordered the lunch special! I got 2 beef crispy tacos with Spanish rice and queso. Mine were super greasy and hardly any meat in the shell! My husband got 2 beef fajita tacos and the beef was so hard he couldnt eat it and he has dentures! The service was absolutely horrible the server was nice but she wasnt very attentive to our table I was out of a drink for a while! We asked for more napkins and never got them! I have eaten here now 4 times. The food is pretty good. We most often order to go. The worst of it is the last 3 times we have visited we have gotten long hair in our food. I suppose someone in the kitchen is loosing their hair or they just add it in as an ingredient. The family said tonight no more . It doesn t matter that they have good fajitas. We don t want the hair with it. Could call the place harry taco. Since I am on a rant am I too far off to expect chips and salsa? Upon entering I noticed this restaurant has huge open space with very little decor. It feels empty and uninspired. It hardly screams Mexican restaurant and more like a warehouse space. It is absurd they call this mexican food. If you somehow were able to turn grass clippings into salsa, this is exactly how their salsa would taste. The queso is made with great value velveeta cheese. The chimichanga was filled with minute made rice and interestingly you can have this along with other items smothered in chilli cheese sauce. Having most of their items either being featured with chilli cheese sauce or having the option as a sauce is very unique, and I have to say I dont recommend this on mexican food. The chilli cheese sauce also tastes pretty cheap as if you ordered it from a high school football concession stand. I feel as if this meal I ordered could have been made cheaper, better, and with less salt at home. The positives of this restaurant is the service. The servers are very quick to check up on you and will check on you frequently to make sure everything is alright. The wait time for my meal was also short.

We celebrated my Mother In Laws 100th birthday with 28 family members on February 17, 2024. The management was very accommodating and the wait staff was excellent. The service was fast and efficient. Everyone in our party had a great time and shared with me how great their food was. A big thanks to all management, servers, cooks, and other staff that made this such a great experience. El Nuevo staff sang happy birthday to my Mother In Law and the other guest applauded her. Thank you so much. El Nuevo has finally priced us out vs the quality of their food. Today my wife and I ate at El Nuevo for the last time. Fajitas for 2, 1 margarita, 1 horchata, 1 queso ran us $78 pre-tip. Most places thatd run you about $60. $7.50 for a small Queso. The amount of food you now get is probably about 20% less than what youd normally get. The quality of their salsa, chips, tortillas, and meat have also taken a hit. Not sure if theyre using cheaper ingredients, or the quality of the chefs still working there, but it has taken a noticeable turn for the worse. Weve been regulars there for the past year and a half and the place has seriously gone down hill in quality since a new chef of theirs started running the kitchen around October. Anyway, there are way too many other mid-tier Mexican restaurants to go to, to bother going to El Nuevo anymore. Cherry on top was the hair we found in the Queso tonight. Real damn shame, we used to love this place.

My family and I really enjoyed our dinner at this restaurant tonight! Our server was Alex and she was absolutely wonderful! She was so attentive to our needs, friendly, and sweet my kids were even making comments about how awesome she was. Eating out as a family isn t as affordable as it was when I was growing up so exceptional customer service makes all the difference when sharing in family meals. We enjoyed sitting in a cozy booth and had the Super Plato, kids grilled cheese and kids soft taco meal. The chips and salsa were great! My kids loved their meals and I loved my cheese enchiladas, they were exactly what I had been craving. We had the flan for dessert which was a big hit with the kids. I tasted and definitely approve- it was delicious. There s a cute photo wall to take pics with in the back and the bathrooms were clean and decorated very cute! We will definitely be back and ask for Alex as she was so sweet and took great care of us tonight! Kid-friendliness: Nice kids menu with reasonable prices. Next time we will try the aguas frescas!

This was our second time to eat here, and we were disappointed in the chips this time. On our first visit, the chips were warm and crisp this time, the chips were room temp and not nice and crisp I decided to try the verda porkchop and was disappointed The chop was very thin and not tender. Verda sauce was good. The tortillas were dry and not hot.

This place loves to nickle and dime its customers. They do fun things like charging you extra to put cheese in their chimichangas or charges 3.75 for a extra side of bacon that only comes with 2 slices of bacon.

The food here is actually good, the service however is not. Got up and walked out after being seated and waiting over 10 minutes for a server to come to our table, no drink order, nothing. The manager walked past our table 3 times and never stopped, along with several servers and no one stopped. They definitely are not organized, from the hostess station to the wait staff, everyone is running around aimlessly. Won t be going back here!!! If you do decide to visit here, good luck!

Update: Tried carryout this time. They left food off my expensive order and when I called, the man said that a General Manager will refund the difference. It never happened. Not only will I never go here again, but I will tell everyone I know that this is place is not worth trying. Got fooled twice. Terrible service. Came for the 3rd time since it opened. For the quality of food against the price, definitely not worth it. Theyre charging you high quality food and service and atmosphere price, for mediocre everything. Charged me for tortillas that should have come with the carne asada steak in the first place. And auto gratuitied 20% for a family of five with kids. I question the practices of this restaurant, and will probably never come back.

Food was not seasoned, the food presentation itself was pretty bad, I wasn t expecting a lot but it looked pretty bad in itself. The quesadillas had undercooked chicken. Only thing I could eat was beans and rice and even that looked like you could go to H-E-B and just heat it up. All in all whoever cooks there needs to be reevaluated. If I could give a 0 I would.

The food was great! Prices were good, and so were the portions. The service was great from the time we entered. Our server was Blanca, who was very attentive through our visit. We had the fajita enchiladas, combo plate, and queso as an appetizer. The dining area is open area, and tables and booths are spread out enough that you are not sitting so close to another party that you feel like they are sitting with you like other restaurants in Georgetown.

Went on a Friday evening with a group of 10. Restaurant was not busy at all, many workers but total disorganization. Had to ask for water, all drinks and food orders were completely confused. Food quality was mediocre and our table tasted everything from fajitas to enchiladas to shrimp cocktail.

2nd attempt at trying their food. We went after the lunch rush and were sat immediately. The waitress was nice but, took forever to take our food or drink order. After ordering our food we waited for over 25mins for Tortilla Soup, Guacamole, Chips side of rice and some tacos. The food was bland and tasteless. Worst Guacamole and the salsa like water soup. The couple sitting next to us left more than half their food and walked out. Very disappointing all around!

Excellent food. The wait staff are very attentive and hard-working, but the kitchen is very slow getting the food out. Took almost 30 minutes for our order to arrive. Wait staff were running like crazy. I suspect there s just a shortage of staff like there is so many places. It was a cold day, and every time the doors opened for someone to go in or out, you could feel the terrible draft halfway back in the restaurant so it was very cold inside. Needs some walls to block the cold air and/or change entrance to side of restaurant instead of facing North. We almost said just package our food and we will take it home. Also very noisy. Hard walls with not much to absorb the sound could be addressed with more wall hangings. The prices are very good. And the food is excellent so it would be nice if they can address these issues overtime.

The food is amazing but the service was awful. Our waiter Aldo took over 20 minutes to bring water to the table, messed up the orders, then after waiting almost an hour for food instead of apologizing when we asked how much longer he barely acknowledged the question and rolled his eyes at us.

El Nuevo is the new place to go in Wolf Ranch. It has a HUGE menu and all the staples. The Mexican grill is also one to visit, lots of choices with some original creations. Have a picky eater, no worries bring em! Big place so you rarely have to wait, just at peak eating times. Full bar with a big area to boot. Come check em out!

This place has hands down the worst service ever . We had a birthday dinner with friends and family and when it came time to pay our separate checks we ended up waiting for a hour and a half just for our check ! And when it was all said and done didn t even get an apology for the long wait. Needless to say i will never be going back to this place and i recommend for everyone to stay clear of this restaurant !
