Family environment, tremendous varieties of dumplings and breaded balls of yummy delight (bao). Grab a BBQ bao roll. Dont leave without ordering a custard bao for dessert! The family that runs it is so very nice. We drove a bit to get there, but it was totally worth it! We also liked the Asian grocery store in the shopping center. BONUS! Kid-friendliness: The owners kids are quietly playing at a table when school is out. Very kid friendly, and friendly kids.

Our second time here and they are still good. This place is really busy in the morning. The only complaint is the noisy trolley noise from the customer leaving the supermarket. Some of the Chili sauce bottle and plates are a bit dirty. 1. Shrimp Siu Mai - 5/5 Favorite 2. Shrimp Har Gao - 4/5 Not bad slightly thick skin. Sometimes the skin falls off. 3. Fried Chives Pancake - 4.5/5 Favorite but sometimes kind of oily :( 4. Pork Beancurd with Mushroom and Celery - 4.5/5 I like that it s so juicy 5. Fried Taro - 4.5/5 6. Soup Dumpling Xiao Long Bao - 2/5 Skin too thick, not the one I prefer 7. Fried sesame balls - 3/5 not enough red bean inside 8. Fish porridge 4/5 - plain good for sick day

Went one day for lunch and beat the lunch rush! Was a little iffy at first about a dim sum place in a strip mall, but everything we had was good. Service was prompt and food was delicious and tasted fresh, we were so full by the time everything came out. You can only purchase water, and seating can get quite packed if you go during a lunch or dinner rush. Would recommend this place.

I have been going to Joy dim sum since they opened for many years. The dim sum used to be excellent 5 star. Recently the quality of the food is not as good. Everything is still okay 3-3.5 star, but at the most recent visit we were served burnt pan fried turnip cakes. I expect better from a restaurant. See the pictures for yourself.

Went here yesterday with my family while visiting Houston. We have been craving dim sum and this place was recommended to me. It s a really small place for dine-in option as it s inside Jusgo grocery store. The service was a bit slow due to the waitress is the same person cooking in the back. The food was delicious given the wait time experienced. The one thing I wish they had more of was more vegetable options, but other than that it was great.

I ve tried DimSum in Sugar Land, Hwy 59, Katy and China Town. This place is my favorite. What I judge is based on my favorite dishes which are: 1. Chicken feet: has the right soft texture and flavors. It s moist and delicious. 2. Pork Shu Mai is plump, meaty and flavorful. Also very good. 3. Steamed Tofu skin rolls are soaked in a delicious sauce full of yummy fillings. 4. Steamed pork ribs has the right black bean taste and flavors. 5. Steamed rice shrimp rolls comes with that sweet soy sauce and soaks right into the rice roll. 6. Sticky rice is also good. 7. Rice turnip cake has delicious chunks of turnip in it. 90% of the time I buy frozen and bring home to cook in my steamer. I love making it at home and it taste as fresh as eating there. I see them making fresh dim sum everyday day so I know I don t get old dim sum. This place has hard working people making their dim sum by hand so it s much appreciated when I eat it.

Very disappointed. The dining area is very small, about 10 * 12 feet, very simple seating, direct through front desk is the Kitchen, I can smell kitchen when eat there Food quality is average, the quantity is same as shown in manual, but taste is average, the variety of food is Less, not as many types of Dim Sum: if you ever eat at good Dim Sum restaurant in Asian countries or east/west coast, you know what I mean! , steam bao is not like steam bao - the filling is not fresh and there is no soup in the skin which the authenticate one should have! ! This place probably is good enough to fool local Texans who never travel or eat good Asian food.

I lived in Sugar Land so this is the best restaurant for Dim Sum since Kim Son at the Fountains closed down. New Palace restaurant is terrible for Dim Sum btw. Ive ordered to go here at this restaurant many times and I know what to expect in service from an asian restaurant (Im asian myself so Im not being racist here). The woman who is working the front desk has given my order away to another customer before and told me to wait for the customer to bring it back. She didnt apologized for the mix up. Today, I came to pick up my order and was told to wait, after seeing other people getting their food (30 min. has passed by), I walk up to her and said that Ill be requesting a refund since I cant wait anymore for the food. The man from the kitchen came out and look at the food package which has been sitting behind the cash register since I came in and pay for my food... he said Oh this is your food here. I looked at the girl who told me to wait and she didnt say anything.... I told the man that Ive been waiting for 30 minutes and the food has been sitting there the whole time. Ive vowed to never give my business to this restaurant anymore.

Food was good and fresh that s why I am giving this a 4. It s mostly self service but one thing I didn t like was was kids delivered my food. Under 10 years old.. when I walked up to pay and grab Togo boxes the cleaning lady threw away my food that I was going to pack to go. They tried making it right by just giving me half of what I was gonna take home to go. They were super busy so I didn t wanna argue. This really seems more about to go place.

Recently I was bringing dim sum to my mom and grandma and this was the closest place to my house. I had walked past it many times but figured what better time to try them than today. They mainly focus on to go as their dining room is pretty small. I called in my order and showed up about 20 minutes later and it was packed nicely with chopsticks and chili oil. All of the items were delicious. My favorite were the shrimp dishes as they use large shrimp. Next time I need to go dim sum I will be calling them again!

Small restaurant space inside Jusgo supermarket. Dimsum wasn t too bad. I saw a lot of to-go orders as people shopped. Wasn t memorable but it was conveniently located in Sugar Land. There aren t too many options to choose from in this town besides Jade Garden or Kim Son in Stafford. Definitely an eat-then-go-home type of atmosphere that hits the dimsum spot.

Small dim sum restaurant located beside Jusgo that serves yummy food. The thinness of the skin on the dim sums were perfect. Meat to skin wrapping was proportionate too. I highly recommend the custard egg yolk buns. Eat them while they are warm. The saltiness and liquidity filling was perfect. The noodle dishes were so-so. Nothing spectacular. There is limited seating for dine-in. You can eat first and pay later.

Tastes normal, not much to complain about given its just your typical family owned restaurant in a supermarket, but the lack of management and the fact that they are not capable of serving more than 2-3 orders at the same time will drastically worsen the entire experience. There are always lines in front in the weekends, always people whining about their precious time being wasted and needing to skip the line so they can have their orders first. And guess what? They got their order first. This is the place if you be patience and polite about it you will be the last to get your food IF THEY STILL REMEMBER. Its totally different from other chinese restaurants you saw in Chinetown that are filled with bad reviews like poor service.....no kid....you have to literally fight for your order and you better come up with a reasonably strong and sounds-about-right excuse to compete among the crowds. So is the food worth the struggle? meh.....there are many others around that are serving better dishes you can enjoy with ease and save the sparta side of you when youre really fighting for survival during the apocalypse

I dont eat dim sum very often, but its been to long time and I was looking for a place that I wouldnt have to drive to Bellaire Blvd in Houston. The food was prepared fast and was hot. I felt like it was on par with some other well known restaurants in Houston. If youre in the Sugar Land, Stafford, Rosenberg, Richmond area and youre looking for some good dim sum, try this place. It was a Sunday afternoon when my girlfriend and I went, and there was only a couple people there. Its a tiny cafe and it wasnt crowded.

We decided to try their dim sum in the Jusgo supermarket. There are 3 tables for dining in. We ordered a lot of food and they were very good for the price. We really liked the supreme soy sauce fried noodles. They didn t have red wine vinegar. They served a lot of the items in styrofoam, which is such a waste and not good for the environment. They also offer frozen items and drinks offered were bottled water and soda. They have no hot drinks. We will definitely order from them again.

Love this place! My go-to place for dim sum! Believe it or not, all their dim sum is fresh and hot 9 out of 10 time. I do not mind the wait time from time to time they get busy. But they are on point! If they told me ready pick up time is 10mins. It is 10 mins or couple mins less. I wish soon one day theyre able to open for dine-in again and a larger place so I can take my whole family here. Update as of March 2,2022. Pipping hot fresh dim sum. Still consistent with their quality of dim sum. Ive driven across town for them.
