If youre craving sushi thats fresh, flavorful, and full of flair, Ichiro Sushi and Wine Bar has you covered. The food is chef s kiss good were talking next-level rolls that will have you coming back for more. The variety is top-notch, with a mix of classics and creative signature rolls that are just as tasty as they sound. And dont even get me started on their wine and sake selection its like a perfect match waiting to happen! Now, here s the thing: Ichiro is playing in the fine dining league, but the plating? Not quite keeping up with the price tag. First impressions matter, and while the sushi delivers in taste, the presentation could definitely use a little more pizzazz. Think of it like this: the food s a 10, but it s showing up to the party in a 6/10 outfit. We just want the outside to match how amazing the inside is! Still, don t let that hold you back. The flavors more than make up for the modest looks, and with a little extra polish on the presentation, this place would be unstoppable. If you re into quality sushi and sips in a cozy, laid-back atmosphere, Ichiro is definitely worth your time (and your taste buds will thank you)!

My friend and I went again last week. Our server was Daniel. Daniel is great at recommending dishes to us. I had my first Espresso Martini which was Amazing! We also tried the Honey shrimp. It is fantastic! I highly recommend it! Visited Tues. 2 p.m. No table was taken? After trying the Lovers roll I can only assume it was because it was after lunch or before dinner! This was by far the best Sushi I have had in Texas. Fresh!

Excellent service! Fine dining experience. Daniel surprised the bday girl with his own drink creation and it was amazing. Tequila old fashioned. It s hard to find a place that will seat 12 ppl. Live jazz was great. I ve never had unfiltered sake. It was really good. Sushi was great! Able to accommodate allergies. Kid friendly to an extent .if kids can stay seated but there are cloth table cloths. There were several children that did great there. Parking was easy, a little walk but valet is available.

Wow! A restaurant cannot be measured by food alone. Arthur was our server and not just any server. He was attentive, witty and made our meal a truly unforgettable experience. Kudos to a fabulous server! Now lets talk about the shock... Seriously a hidden gem in Georgetown. This is an upscale lovely restaurant. To see the front door from the parking lot gives a meh vibe. But once you walk in the door, your are taken back with the romantic transformation of the room. I can see how some may be taken back by the pricing for the Georgetown area. However, the exceptional flavor, the presentation and the atmosphere are equal to none in this town! If you are looking for someplace special, this is it. I could not have been more pleasantly surprised. Well done Ichiro and well done Arthur! Vegetarian options: While Sushi would not be a vegetarian type meal. There were a few options, such as edamame, fried green beans, etc that were available. Parking: Besides the free parking within walking distance, there is also valet parking in the shopping area. Kid-friendliness: More of a darker romantic lighting and quiet conversation. Lovely to experience some serenity, but my thought is that most kids might find it hard to sit still for long periods of time. You do wait for the food. :( Wheelchair accessibility: No steps with tables that can be adjusted for a wheelchair access. aisles seemed to be a bit spacious.

I am a sushi fanatic. Have been eating it for nearly 50 years, and have had it in several Asian countries, including numerous times in Japan. The sushi here is very good but also very expensive, about 50-100% higher than, say, Kyoto, not too far away. Of course, you are paying for the ambience, live jazz band, and significant wine offering. The miso soup is particularly good. The best dish was the Hana Lobster. It is unique and delicious, except the pieces are really too large to comfortably fit in your mouth. You can stuff a whole piece in but it detracts from the experience. You really must cut it in half which is not easy with a fork. Next time, we will ask for a sharp knife. The server, Peyton, was also excellent. If you want the complete, lovely dining experience, this is the place. If you just want sushi, Kyoto might be a better bet. New review, second visit, EVEN BETTER: We had the Yuzu Hamachi, Truffle Sake, and Somoku and they were ALL amazing. We do not like super hot so didnt take the serrano pepper on top, but the rest was not spicy at all, just incredibly delicious. The Somoku comes under a smoky dome and is served on 6 little ceramic spoons, elaborate and beautiful delivery and taste. Our server, Arturo, was delightful and even put up with my quirky desires to imbibe the juice the appetizers were sitting on. After that we had regular sushi which was above average (I have been eating sushi for 50+ years, in the U.S. and Asia, including Japan) salmon, yellow tail, tuna and fatty versions of each, plus I had a mackeral which was tasty and less fishy than most places, which I prefer. The sushi is a little pricey, I must say. My black house margarita was also tasty. GREAT experience! OH, really good miso soup too!

Never thought of all places, Georgetown would have an amazing sushi restaurant. Came here to celebrate a friend s birthday. The service was awesome and all the items we picked out came out in a beautiful display; on a boat! Everything tasted fresh and melted in your mouth. My friend had dropped money under the table without realizing it. As we walked out of the restaurant, the server ran after us to let us know there was money under the table. Complete honesty and trust with this place. With no doubt, highly recommend Ichiro for the amicable service and wonderful food.

If you are looking for a nice place to eat on a busy day, look elsewhere. This business is clearly incapable of handling a higher volume of customers. I took my fiancée here for Valentine s Day, and we experienced the LONGEST dinner of our lives! It took about 3 1/2 hours from when we walked in the door (on time for our reservation) until we left! Beginning with an arrival at 6:28 pm for a 6:30 pm reservation, we were told that no more tables were available somehow, and had to wait about 30 minutes. Then over the four course meal, we waited about 45 minutes per course! The restaurant was horribly understaffed. Only one person was making all desserts, and our poor waitress practically running between the tables and kitchen looking like she was on the verge of tears. As for the food, the short rib I had was quite good. The other courses were okay. Nowhere close to worth it for the experience.

We went here for Valentine s Day and had an AWFUL experience. Our reservations were for 5:00. We were seated quickly but that is the only good thing I can say. We ordered the Valentine s special since it was the only option available. Our wine and every course took forever. After waiting almost a hour for our main course, the waitress sent the manager over. He explained they were backed up and would get our food soon. I received mine but my husband still waited 15 minutes for his. We didn t receive our appetizers or main course at the same time. The manager acknowledged how bad service was but didn t offer us anything. On top of that the food was just okay. We do not mind paying for good food and service however, this restaurant is overpriced and the food is overrated. It definitely wasn t worth $300+ and over 3 hours of our time.

I came here for Valentines day. The moment I walked in, I thought the restaurant was way too crowded for its price range. Tables are too tight next to each other, and waiters are carrying food over my head. We ordered the 4 course menu....but it was clear the restaurant was overbooked. Our food took a long time to come, didnt come at once, and we never got a refill of water. We waited 40m for the entree and it didnt arrive so we decided to leave. We ended up talking with the manager about the situation, and he was reasonable because we got comped for our food and left. However, it was a terrible vday experience, so Id recommend steering clear of this restaurant. BTW the food here is totally americanized japanese food. So if youre looking for authentic sushi, best look elsewhere.

The decor for whatever reason reminds me more of a dim sum Chinese restaurant than Japanese. I think someone misinterpreted the typical Japanese aesthetics. As for food it is essentially the exact same type of Americanized sushi but for a higher price. Most suburban sushi joints are run by Koreans which is fine as they tend to incorporate Korean food into it, but its often a big miss on authentic Japanese food. As for someone else comparing it to Uchi or Uchiko, both are also heavily fusion. However, we are in the US and restaurants must cater to the majority palate. You can get the same type of rolls elsewhere for half the price and it will taste the same, trust me, its covered in sauce.

Our waiter recommended a couple of things and they just were not good. Everything came out warm or some not so warm. First time here. The pros: good wine list and cocktails. The soup dumplings were delicious, the tempura is light and crunchy, and the sushi was really good (we had the Hanna roll) The cons: ribeye was well marinated but thin like a breakfast steak. The spicy garlic Bouma qith chicken, well, too much sauce, not at all spicy and the chicken must have been frozen or something because it was rubbery. Couldnt even eat it and left most on the plate. This place is also way overpriced.

A friend told me this is their 2nd favorite restaurant in town and put it *above* Uchi and Uchiko, so my expectations were off-the-charts high. And I was sorely disappointed. The food was decent, but much of it lacked flavor and it did not come close to living up to the price point, nor the atmosphere, which is lovely. The truffle-garlic edamame was the best thing we had. We followed that with the sushi tower. It fell short on flavor. Ive had better at a few different places that cost far less. We followed that with the VIP roll, which granted was a roll of the dice as its a surf & turf style roll, and it just wasnt my cup of tea. My husband enjoyed it well enough. Finally was our entrees. My husband enjoyed his spicy garlic bokum, though he said the shrimp was fishy. My sea scallop risotto was good - the risotto itself was actually very good. The scallops needed salt. And the arugula salad on the side was dressed to excess, making it far to sweet to eat. A little salt might have helped that as well. We had a reservation but were seated in the bar area with a bartender for our wait staff instead of in the main dining area. There were plenty of available tables. The bartenders were talking loudly and were a distraction. We had to ask to be moved. Why theyd seat people in that crowded space when theres plenty of room in the main dining area is beyond me. This meal cost over $200. I cant say Id go again. Its a shame. I wanted to love it.

The live jazz band was amazing and really pulled together the elegant atmosphere of the restaurant. We had a 2 month old with us and they were able to seat us at a table in the corner of the room so his carrier wouldnt be in the way and it was a little quieter. Our waiter, Tyler, was fantastic. I cannot say enough great things about him. Super personable and friendly, made *perfect* recommendations throughout our evening, and was very attentive despite it being fairly busy and only his 3rd night on the floor. The food and cocktails were superb as well. Ive eaten at some fairly nice sushi places around Dallas, but Ichiro is my new favorite by far. Highly highly recommend. To top it all off, the Carajillo cocktail (one of Tylers amazing recommendations) was the perfect ending to a perfect experience.

Really enjoyed this nice area of Georgetown. There was live music that was very good but our table was right in front of where the music was so it was so loud that I could not visit with my daughter. The food was really good and our waiter was excellent. I did post pictures pictures of what we had to eat. .

Had a reservation for a table for two for my wife s bday on a random week night. The GOOD: + the hostess was friendly and inviting. + the place was clean. + we were not being bombarded with a litany of specials for the night. + the atmosphere was nice and it wasn t too loud. THE NEGATIVE - the decor is dull, kitschy, with no imagination. - our waiter never even cracked a smile. - the food was Hello Fresh quality and presentation nothing out of the ordinary. Way overpriced for what it was. In a nutshell: mediocre at best. Way over hyped.

12/16/2022So this is very hard for me to say because I love this restaurant so much. But last night my parents and I had dinner here . The appetizers were todie for but when my main dish came out. The plate tasted so bad . The shrimp in my Bokum were rancid . I have not been to sleep been upchucking all night and all morning. Very sad to see the standard drop . Will be going elsewhere for dinner next time .12/24/2022 The strand of ekola coming out of this restaurant is one that you want to stay far away.

This place is in the best spot and may be a little on the pricey side but worth every penny!! The food not only comes out looking amazing but it tastes just as good as it looks. Cant wait to go back! Parking: If you dont mind a short walk parking is usually fine. Now weekends are a different story. The area is very busy on the weekends. Plan for that. Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty of access all over the area and all its entry points.

I used to be so impressed with this place, even though its always been pricy. I used to feel genuinely valued as a customer, but that was at least a year ago. Now the servers act entitled, the portions are smaller, and no matter how much money I spend, there are no extras on special occasions (such as birthdays or anniversaries). When customers honor you by speaking well of you and choosing you to have a meal on their special day, you should honor them back instead of making them pay $16 for a tiny dessert after they have already spent too much money on your other items. I hate being this disappointed after having been so favorably impressed but I would be very surprised if this restaurant lasts longer than another couple of years because they just dont appreciate people.

The food was good, but the service was impeccable! Ruben was our server and I can confidently say he was the best server I ve ever had, and that says a lot coming from someone who worked in the service industry for 5+ years. He was attentive, friendly, made great recommendations, and extremely polite. His menu knowledge was very detailed and extensive. He really knows how to make his guests feel taken care of. After some awesome sushi and drinks, we even had the pleasure of hearing about Ruben s fur baby, Sullivan! I just loved how Ruben opened up to us and shared such cute stories of his Sullivan. 10/10 would recommend! We will absolutely be sitting in his section during our next visit! Thank you Ruben!

If I could give zero stars, I would. Came here for my 30th birthday - my sisters and I split scallop risotto. we were sick for the rest of the night and still are, well into the next day. I spoke with Chris the manager who absolutely refused to provide any solutions other than give us a $100 gift card. He said he didnt believe us and that there was nothing more he could do. I asked to speak to his boss and overheard his boss saying he didnt want to speak to me. I am appalled by the lack of care and professionalism. we spent a lot of money at this restaurant and they could not even treat our situation with a modicum of respect. If you want to enjoy your birthday dinner, I would go to Takara.

I find myself very disappointed by Ichiro. Not only have I spent my whole night and day very sick after eating at Ichiro, but when we tried to call the restaurant to discuss how to resolve the situation, we were met unprofessionalism and incompetence. This will be my first and last time eating here and I suggest if you would like to be able to sleep throughout the night or enjoy time with your family the next day, do not go here for dinner. I don t get to visit my sisters often and now the four of us have spent the whole day sick - made all the worse because we were celebrating one of my sister s 30th birthdays. Very disappointed in this restaurant. 0/10 would not recommend.

Have had previous issues with slow orders but that was an isolated incident I think. Still after that incident i left there to go to another establishment after our order didnt arrive after waiting an hour. The owner is usually enjoying his wine instead of serving guest which is fine if everyone is being served quickly. Just an observation

This restaurant is a haven for anyone who appreciates the finest ingredients in food. Cooked food is perfection, ultimate freshness of fish/seafood. The sashimi melts in your mouth. The rolls and all preparation from the sushi bar are works of art and delectable. Tempura here is unlike those dredged, breaded fried ones , the usual restaurants serve. Ever have shumai? Here it s addicting. From the ambiance which is harder and harder to find: to the exceptional bar, the well trained and informed entire staff, Ichiro might be a bit pricey but worth every bite, sip, and dip.

I hate to write a review like this but this place was SO bad. And considering the prices, I was pretty dang disappointed! I ordered the xiao long bao and garlic green beans. First off, the dumplings weren t actually soup dumplings (as they were supposed to be), and they re TINY. They had this awful bland filling that looked and had the texture of raw meat. Maybe it really was raw? I don t know but they definitely aren t fresh. The green beans were SO salty they were hardly enjoyable. I m so sad it was such a disgusting meal and still spent $30 with tip!!!

Excellent service. Food was superb. Jazz combo was a very nice surprise. We had the VIP sushi roll. We love good sushi. My girlfriend and I agreed that this was the best roll we have ever had. We also had the baked salmon and sea bass. Both perfectly cooked and prepared. The same amount of care went into the green beans. Portions were healthy, not large. For desert we had the flaming banana. Okay, not great. Hard candy like topping on mushy banana was a confusing texture. We eat out at this price point about twice a month in Austin and we are not always impressed; so many choices and lots of poorly executed or conceived concepts. We were glad to find Ichiro. We will return.

I have never posted anything like this before but feel that I need to. I took my family to celebrate my daughters birthday. This was the first time going to this place. My son is special needs (Autistic). Unfortnately, some restaraunts dont really have menus that suits our childs needs but we enjoy having him go out with us because you cant just not include your child because he has a disability. Sometimes we have to go to another restaurant, fast food, to get what he will only eat. I really hate even having to justify what I have to do to help my son. While waiting to order, the manager insisted that bringing food in was against policy. We imediately informed that our child was special needs without trying to go into detail, as we shouldnt have to. The manager insisted, rather rudely, again that it was against policy and to not come in again with outside food. I did not argue, was offended by what seemed the lack of understanding. My family promptly left and you wont have to worry about us returning which is disappointing as it seemed to be a nice place. We have had other restaurants in the past come to us with this concern but are very concious, understanding and polite when we mention our concern.

Food was delicious, the live band was AMAZING- they definitely made the vibe better, sushi was well prepped & delicious. Both the adults & kids enjoyed their meals. All appetizers is definitely a must try! GM Chris & servers gave us great customer service! Our 1st time experience here was good!! The only reason we give it a 4 star is because our friends along with us brought our kids for a bday celebration and felt the owner was not use to kids at all (singing with the band & dancing a little). We saw him look annoyed & told the kids to bring the energy down. I guess other guests took notice too and told us to not mind it because thier guests enjoyed our entire groups energy! Several came up to us saying, the world needs more of us to liven up people & enjoy! Overall, a great restaurant. Parking: They have complimentary valet & ample parking around

Spicy tuna had no flavor, soy sauce was a sweet low sodium blend and clashed with fatty tuna, tamago was warm, received incorrect appetizer, didnt receive enough green tea. Only got one small cup in a non Asian cup. Miso soup was served in some non Asian style bowl with a large American soup spoon making it very difficult to eat. For the extreme prices this place is very pretentious and our party will probably not be back. Keeping 2 stars for the decor.

We were in the area and wanted sushi, Ichiro showed up within a couple miles which was such great luck! This place is a destination Id gladly travel back 1hr to just to eat there. The atmosphere is more on the high-end side and during normal dinner hours you would need to make a reservation. We arrived just after they opened at 3 and were the only ones there for a bit. Everything was absolutely delicious. We had the seaweed salad, a spicy tuna roll, and the VIP roll. We also have shell fish allergies and great care was taken to make sure the shellfish was replaced with something else tasty. They also have a extensive bar and wine selection. Our server was amazing-cant wait to go back.
