This is the best Tex Mex in Garland, best chips, best salsa and good guacamole that wont break the bank. We love their lunch specials and sour cream chicken enchiladas. This is a big compliment from a 5th generation Texan who was raised on Tex Mex. Dont let the little shopping center fool you, its worth pulling over to try! Kid-friendliness: Really good tacos and beans for the kids, generous portions too.

The worst experience ever food is nasty customer service is terrible waitresses sit down like their customers they pretend like theres nobody there the restaurant is dirty they tell you 10 minutes you wait 30 to 40 minutes they served me raw tamales that taste like corn meal falling apart when I complain to take it right back they didnt want to refund my money and they keep arguing that it was tender when it was falling apart I am smart enough to know that a tamale is not supposed to crumble in your hand and no flavor at all and very rude

Came here with a group of girls for dinner. The quality of food in this little neighborhood joint was really good. The customer service was great. I had a fajita chimichanga the fajita on the inside was delicious the crispiness was on point and the cheese sauce was good. I got a chicken sour cream enchilada dinner to go that was good as well. I will be returning.

My coworker went in for guacamole and chips. The chips were thin and brittle, hardly salted. The guacamole was VERY bland. No salt or lime, just tomatoes. Please up your game with the guacamole and chips. It was disappointing

The tortilla soup was terrible. It was like they just boiled the chicken in the soup. Also who puts carrots and celery in tortilla soup? No lime, no jalapeño, no onion, no corn, no black beans? It had boiled chicken, broth, carrots and celery. It was $10 wasted.

I ordered meals for my family for the first time from this place through Uber. I was surprised at how good the flavors are. Nothing tasted bad or off but the fajita chicken was a bit chewy. I didn t think much of it until I got violently ill a few hours later. My fiance, who also ate the chicken, got ill soon after I did. I went back to look at the remaining chicken in our food and there were quite a few pieces that looked raw on the inside. I have a very serious stomach condition that s sensitive to food poisoning so I m not super impressed. Although the flavors were pretty decent, I won t ever eat here again and I advise people to inspect your chicken if you order it.

Weve never actually dined-in here before but weve ordered from here several times and never are we disappointed. The food is always delicious and the servings are very generous. Waited 40 minutes and never received our dinner. The waitress had to be called over to refresh the salsa. Never refilled the drinks. Finally just had to call it and pay for the drinks and leave. Excellent neighborhood eatry 11/20/2023 update: Another delicious meal at Normas!! This place is a Garland gem! I had Enchiladas Verdes and wife had Sour Cream Chicken Enchiladas. In our humble opinion, the chicken enchiladas are the absolute best in the DFW area. I dont know what they do to the chicken but it is so flavorful and never dry! Try it!!!

Update: been a few years since this post and we still go every few weeks. Good as always. Still no pics. ~~ Aaahhmaazing!! So good I forgot to get a picture... So to start... spouse and I used to go here for lunch years ago. That kind of faded with job changes and stuff but we wanted a quick dinner together. I don t remember why we haven t been back but it s been too long. Had combo fajitas for one (shared because both former weight loss surgery patients.) The chips were warm and crisp and delicious. The salsa was cold and spicy and just the right mix of sauce and veggies. The fajitas were perfectly seasoned and the plate was hot enough to sear and char the plentiful onions and peppers into crispy oblivion. A splash of lemon was the perfect compliment to the seasoning. The tortillas were thin and strong, so no doughy sticky bites. The guac and sour cream offset the heat from the salsa perfectly. The chicken was seared nicely and the steak was tender with just a bit of char from the hot plate. We ordered charro beans which were savory and hot. Since we don t eat rice, they offered double beans. We did not leave hungry. In fact, we left with lunch for tomorrow. And that was a single portion, not the double. Service was prompt and very friendly. All had masks and were covid observant. We tipped more bc we loved the setting and service. It s back on the fast quick meal list and maybe next time I ll snap a pic before pigging out. :D

I have been eating here for over 10 years. I think its a shame I have to grieve them and will never spend another dime here. Today I picked up my first time taco salad. I know the meat is always seasoned. Today it was bland. I paid for extra meat because usually its tasty. I called and talked to Maria, the owner, explained my dilemma. She kept repeatedly telling me I should go somewhere else. On the third invite I spoke up and asked her if I could get something else that doesnt require Taco meat, I was not looking for a refund. We have been coming to this place forever!! My parents would bring me and my now husband when we were little high schoolers! That was when we were 17 and we are now 36! We loved when mom and dad would take us to dinner/lunch here. My parents still go all the time and are friends with the owners. Anyways, that being said that shows you how AMAZING the food is here if they have been able to stay in business for this long. Most restaurants just dont survive. Especially after COVID. The food is just that good, the staff is friendly, they have my favorite salsa and I wish I didnt live five hours away because I would go have lunch tomorrow there! Love this place.

Service was great. Our server was attentive, polite and kept an eye on our table. Food took a while to come out. It was mostly a sloppy mess. The piece of fajita I ordered was passably edible. The rice wasnt horrible and the avocado seemed kinda fresh. Thats it. All else was just too awful to even try to describe. Im sad just having to remember it to write this. I saw a tortilla shell taco come out and I wanted to run but by then it was too late. If your idea of good places are Sazón, Cuquitas, Ernestos, Panchos, then this is your spot.

Kid-friendliness: The restaurant is not overly noisy, no banging and clanging of dishes in the kitchen. Food is bland for Mexican food.The 23 fajita meal is actually enough for about 4 people.I ordered beef and chicken.They advertise 1 order is enough for 23 fajitas and it actually enough for about 4 per order.Two orders came with 8 tortillas.That is some serious false advertising.They do however have good enchiladas Ordered beef fajitas and chicken thought it would be enough for the 5 of us .We are all still hungry and 43 dollars lighter.Waant even a pound of meat between the two orders

Customer service is subpar, food was bland, but I did not get sick. In my opinion this is, the type of restaurant where you purchase food for a reasonable price and as a quick snack.
