Really good Tex Mex. Wednesday is HH all day. Get the $3.00 Margaritas. Nachos are tasty! Salsa is mild but if you like it hotter, just ask Ramon who bartends on Wednesday. I ve been coming here for years and have so many memories from here! My favorite thing is a Desperado Taco and a Mexican Margarita! Oh, and their roasted salsa is the best! Luis is an icon in the bar. I tease him that I ve watched him get old! Pole has been my favorite server for years! I ve frequented both locations but 2 is my favorite (Sorry,Jake) :)

it s always a pleasure to return here! Even after months of not being here, even the manager recognizes this as well as our favorite waiter Palo! Our dishes were tasty and delivered hot out of the kitchen! Additions like chop Serrano peppers were no problem and we were well taken care of! Parking: Park out front, there is handicap as well and come inside and eat or take a patio seat and enjoy yourself! Kid-friendliness: Beautiful child and her mother sitting two tables away from us amongst many adults in the restaurant and all was handled very well! The manager and the staff all work together to make everyone welcome! Wheelchair accessibility: Handicap parking, ramps post on the outside of the building, and on the inside of the building, easily operable gate to the outside patio and plenty of service!

This place has one of my favorite meals in the Richardson-garland area! The pollo Santa Rosa is the star dish for me here with its roasted Pabloano garlic onion sauce! Service is always fantastic and I love their Mexican Martini. Two drinks in shaker! They also have really great happy hour deals, especially on Wednesdays and Sundays! Food and service are good, prices compare to similar places. Had beef fajitas, they were good (Not tough and chewy like other places). Wife had Chicken-Itza which she enjoyed. Guacamole, queso and flan were good. The dining lighting was little dark, and the ramp from front entrance to tables was a little steep & not well lighted for my wife who uses a walker. Plan to go back soon. Parking: Wish there were handicap spots closer to the front door. There were THREE Pick up Food-to-go spots next to front door. Long steep walk from existing handicap spots.

I enjoyed this restaurant. The food was good. The atmosphere was nice but a little dark. It is located in a shopping center. So, parking was an issue. The restaurant is small; there was a little wait even though we came before 6. Also, we were seated in an awkward spot where people are coming in and out of the kitchen. This was my second visit and I wanted to leave a review because the service is exceptional. I visited with a large group of 17 at lunch on Tuesday. We thought there was a reservation but there was not, but the staff quickly got us set up with a table for 20! During lunch time. We arrived before the lunch rush, but they did get busy while we were there. We were separate tickets with some parties of 2. They gave us plenty of time to look at the menu, and they kept our drinks refilled. Our orders were taken quickly and the food came out as fast as possible with such a large group and at lunch. Everyone seemed to have gotten what they ordered, the food was hot, and it all came out at almost the same time, with the only delay being not able to put all the plates on one tray. I had the fish tacos, which is the Friday lunch special but you can order them any day or $1 upcharge, with rice only no beans. The tacos were served with cabbage and cilantro and a fresh lime slice. The fish was one big piece of fish in each taco and was fried nicely. But it was a fairly large piece of fish and I would ve liked more cabbage and hot sauce. I used salsa and they had tabasco, but jalapeños or something else would ve enhanced the flavor. The rice was fine, but again, could ve used more flavor. The puffed taco shells were good I heard, but the filling fell out after the first bite because of the shape. The guacamole tostada again could ve been more flavorful maybe spice or garlic or salt or all of the above, just something more. The checks came out quickly and were all correct the first time around! Which again, for a large party was impressive. Checks were cleared quickly and we enjoyed our meal. The exceptional service and attentiveness of the whole staff made up for any issues with the food, we ll be back for sure, and maybe try a margarita next time :) Parking: Lots of free parking - some right in front of the building but also a full shared lot Wheelchair accessibility: There s a ramp outside on the sidewalk as well as a ramp going down into the restaurant - plenty of room between tables

We have been loyal customers for about 8 years. For the entire 8 years no matter how early we come on Wednesday, we can never get a booth. I recently relocated to TX and have been sampling many different restaurants. Desperado catered an event I attended and the food was decent, but I wanted to partake in the entire dining experience so I decided to treat myself to dinner for my birthday. I was a party of one and was seated immediately. The restaurant was fairly empty, and after a considerable amount of time the waitress finally came over to take my drink order, and I placed my food order. The food arrived in reasonable time, but I never saw the waitress again after she took my order. After I finished my meal I waited another 30+ mins before someone came to see if they could remove my plate, at which time I asked for a takeout container. I waited an additional 15-20 mins until someone came and just left the check. Well, it would have been nice if I was offered the dessert menu or asked if I wanted anything else. Additionally, I needed to order takeout. After more waiting I decided to go to the hostess. Being my first time there I wasn t sure how things worked. I explained to her that the waitress never came back after taking my order, and that I wanted to add additional food to my bill. She began to retell the story in Spanish to a gentleman. I assumed he didn t speak English because she spoke to him in Spanish. He just stood there looking at me for a moment as if he was waiting for me to say something, and then rudely asked (in English) if I was ready to order. I don t know what that was all about. I ve never experienced that before. The food was decent but the service was terrible. I wish I had chosen a different place for a birthday dinner. I won t go back.

Easily some of the best Mexican food in Dallas. We went on a Wednesday night and the place was packed. We had a 15 minute wait but it was worth it. We sat down and learned it was happy hour all day and $4 margaritas. That wasn t even the best part. The food. Simply amazing. We shared the Fajitas for 2 and our friends got some outstanding dishes as well. The service was on point as well. We sat on the patio on a beautiful day at the end of January. That s right. JANUARY. It was great. We will be back for sure!!

Been many times now. Older established restaurant with a dedicated clientele. Really good food and really good service. This is the old family tex mex restaurant with the classics that didnt sell out. Worth the trip for the comfort food of your childhood in Dallas.

I recently dined at Desperados Mexican Restaurant Dos and ordered a veggie Fajita. The server, upon bringing my order, was honest enough to inform me that the beans contained meat. They graciously canceled the order without issue. Its rare to encounter such honesty, and I believe it should be acknowledged and rewarded. Hence, I am writing this review to express my appreciation for their integrity and customer service.

Its a good place, food is good, just not amazing. Salsa is ok but dont have a spicy one. The staff is always friendly and its busy all the time. Just not my favorite Mexican food around!

Never in my life did I ever think I would find such a delicious burger in a hole in the wall Mexican restaurant, I have eaten burgers in New York, Chicago , Florida , California, etc. and tried over 100+ burgers from different places including high end and this is definitely in my top 5 burgers compliments to the chef they have an amazing cook back there just wow..

Love Desperados! The Garland / Richardson location is tucked away and easy to forget about, but I m here to tell you - GO! We most recently had a team lunch for 7 people. The price was very reasonable. The service was fast and friendly. I had the Tuesday special - Guiso de Puerco con Chile Cascabel - and it was delicious! It s not my usual texmex pick, and I m glad I branched out! Desperados tacos are also always a fan favorite.

I could not give them 5 stars because they have a serious gnat problem at the bar. I came Saturday 11/18/23 and sat at the bar for dinner with a friend. The drink and appetizer I had was good but I had to fight gnats the entire time. I opted to take my dinner home to eat in peace. I felt bad for the people who did not sit at the bar and had to wait for their server to pick up their drink order because there were gnats all over them. The food was fantastic to say the least, just very turned off by the gnats at the bar.
