I know nothing of cameras or the equipment that goes with it. My son is interested in photography so we brought him here to look for a digital camera. The employee at the counter was SUPER knowledgable and even steered us away from higher priced cameras. He recommended an excellent and affordable option for a beginner like our son. He walked him through all the cameras functions, maintenance, and even possible upgrades for it. All in all this place was really top notch customer experience for us. Very helpful with a great staff. Whatever I need they usually have The only issue is they ve messed up some my film the last couple of times I went to get it developed. I use both DSLR and SLR cameras, but with that said they did offer store credit as an apology so least they tried to make it right and I am grateful for that But nonetheless I ll keep returning to the store to get my photography equipment

Not from this area of town, but I was driving by and the word CAMERA caught my eye. I m short on 35mm so I pulled in to check it out. Was greeted by a pupper at the door, and hit by the epic ambiance of a classic camera shop. Great selection of film, insanely helpful staff, seamless overall experience. Will be returning to pick up some Minolta lens caps soon.

Place is very cool, has tons of options and expertise. Not the friendliest staff but it isn t a restaurant it s a place for serious enthusiasts and professionals which is what the staff is made up of. Coming in as an amateur I had fun looking around and was asked if I needed help consistently and respectfully. Would happily recommend and shop here again.

I had the best camera ever made in for a repair. I asked if it was beyond their skill set to let me know. I had another camera correctly diagnosed and repaired when it was incorrectly diagnosed by another shop. I also told them take their time. Get it right. Took them several months and $1300 to be complete. I discovered it was not fixed. I called them and they told me it was because I hadn t shot it enough film through it, and they would look at it. But it would take another 2 months. Also, implying they would not back their work. No type of refund offer either. At this time I can not in good conscience recommend them anymore for anything. I will have to spend the money again to fix it with someone else. I m disgusted.

Lots of staff on hand which is unheard of nowadays! All the guys here know their stuff and they are fun to talk to. They cleaned my cameras sensor real quick! I had a reasonably good experience with Garland Camera, but disappointed in their buyback process. I purchased a camera lens from them a couple of months back and was charged $2,000. I later saw that the MSRP was only $1,499. I called them and asked for an adjustment, and they offered the adjustment. Great! Sadly, I did not use the lens after purchasing and asked the store if I could bring the lens back and sell it back to them. They let me know they cannot give pricing over the phone, fair. I brought in the lens back in to sell it back, and was offered only $350 for like-new condition, still in original box, taken out maybe only once or twice. Overall, I would shop here again but will certainly never bother trying to sell back any equipment to them.

Cool place, the go-to shop for film photography in DFW. Quick film development and scanning. Prices on their film is a bit higher than online but they do have basically everything, both color and B&W. They also sell digital bodies, lenses and accessories and do repairs for both film and digital cameras. Just a heads up, they scan at 72dpi but have a 300dpi option for a few bucks extra. However, they dont advertise this and wont tell you unless you ask, so if you like to edit, do your own prints or youre just a stickler for resolution make sure to ask for hi res scanning when you drop off your film.

TLDR - i am a beginner and this shop made me feel like an unwelcomed idiot by the snooty, cold, unhelpful staffmember. -- I am a beginner getting into film photography. I bought a crappy camera and some cheap film to get started and see how the photos would turn out- all the photos came out with exposure damage. I had so many questions about what went wrong and I was excited to find this place- based on the reviews I had hoped they wouldve been able to give some guidance. I wanted to know what happened for my photos to come out the way they did, how I can avoid it, what to look for in a camera, etc, When we came in, it took a while for someone to show interest in us, and he was so rude and unwelcoming. He was confused about everything I asked, and looked and made me feel like i was the dumbest person in the world so i didnt even feel comfortable asking any of my questions other than advice on what camera to get. I tried to segue into my personal experience to get advice on the crappy camera and all he had to say was i would stop using it... i wanted to test the camera on some expired film but he just shut me down. he was cold, unresponsive and unhelpful... really did not enjoy my time.

If you care about your film I would avoid going here to get my film developed.they have messed up multiple rolls of film . Destroyed one roll that was client work because they mixed up my color roll with a black and white roll. They only offered me a roll of film to fix it . I have tried to continue doing business here but they continue to mess things up and don t ever take responsibility they are always ready to point fingers at what you didn t do after you paid them to do their jobs. Horrible business can t wait till they close down due to their horrible customers service and lack of taking ownership and responsibility when they mess up. PS Garland camera employee cursed at me and attempted to physically harass me when I returned to pick up my film negatives. Worst business!

Thought my camcorder was broken. Within 30seconds of handing my camcorder over they switched off the lock switch and voila! My camcorder works just fine, I m just inexperienced. Even though I m an idiot, they did not put me down and they seemed generally interested in the camcorder I brought in. There was no charge since it was such a quick solution, so I made sure to purchase a couple tapes from them as a thank you. Go give them money. :)

Very cool place but BE AWARE, ALL SALES ARE FINAL. I bought my wife a very nice light, for Christmas, for $350 and it turned out to be the wrong thing that she needed/wanted. When I went to return it, they explained that they don t return items they only do store credit. I understand the reasoning behind it but when there are NO SIGNS or NOBODY SAYS ANYTHING before I purchase, then you can see how it may be viewed as sketchy when I get the receipt and it says All Sales Are Final well it s too late to tell me by then. Long story short, be 100% sure that you have what you need.But even at that, I d rather shop at a big name place that carries everything and has a friendlier policy. Dropped off my canon r5 after my hot shoe fell off. I knew this was a known issue but what I *didn t* know was that the board within the camera that the eye piece attaches to was also flawed. I finally drove in from Abilene (179 miles and approx. 3 hours depending on traffic) after making calls starting in September. It is my favorite camera so honestly I was worried about leaving it anywhere. I will ONLY bring my cameras here, forever. #1- I was listened to. When I first called I made it a point to say I turned my lcd off. I restated that in person because I was worried I would be billed for a replacement. ^ this did not happen I was provided with an HONEST repair. I was quoted higher worst case scenario parts +labor the weekend my camera broke and ended up paying a bit less than I anticipated. #2 I was treated soooo kindly! I was also updated before any work was done to approve the estimate and work. #3 My camera was dropped off / worked on during Thanksgiving week and was STILL ready in approx 3 weeks from drop off. I spent more time stressing out than it took them to Diagnose, Repair, and Return it. I m sure there are several camera repair places between Abilene + Garland, but I will happily continue to make time to get to Garland because I know that I will receive the best care and service for my cameras.

This place is the best place to get into film photography!! I bought a cheap film camera on eBay back in 2021, and after shooting a roll of film, I didnt know where to go get it developed. It took 2 years for me to finally google a place and I found this via Google Maps! The visit first was so helpful and the girl who helped me actually got me addicted to film photography again. I came to develop my roll of film from 2021 and brought my cameras with me because I didnt know how to unload the film. I was scared that I was going to be laughed at by all these camera enthusiasts, but the workers there were so friendly and explained everything. They showed me the massive collection of film rolls and all the film cameras that they have in stock (automatic & SLRs). I was super overwhelmed but so happy to learn about film photography. They told me to sign up for an online account and my films would be automatically scanned/uploaded on there. I watched multiple YouTube reviews where they said it might take 5-7 business days to get your scanned photos, so I was already prepared for that. Garland Camera told me itll take between 24-48 hours, which is much faster than I expected. To my surprise, they called me an HOUR after I left and said my photos were uploaded to the shared album. I was mind-blown by how fast the service was! The drive there was over an hour due to traffic and by the time I got home, my photos were all online! I was super happy to see the photos I took back in 2021 and it brought back so many good memories. There was one roll that I ruined by opening the back before rewinding it, so I didnt get any of those photos back. Each 35mm roll costs ~$15 for development/scanned, which is pretty average. Im honestly just amazed by how quickly I got my photos back the first time that I decided to get into film photography fully. I came back two weeks later to drop off another roll on Thursday afternoon, and I woke up Friday morning with my photos ready. The customer service and photo quality that I received here have inspired me to turn it into a weekly routine where I take a whole roll of film and drop it off to develop on Saturday. They keep your negative for 7 days as well so I try to stop by every Saturday to pick up my negatives, and also develop new rolls. Im so happy to get into film photography again, and its all thanks to Garland Camera! Id highly recommend coming here if youre looking to learn more about cameras because they have so many and customer service is TOP NOTCH.

The staff breaks your cameras and refuses to take responsibility. On top of that, they are incredibly unprofessional. The man with the long hair should be fired. Answered the phone with a, Whats up? When I had called about my friend had taking her camera to get her film developed and came back with a broken camera. He had tinkered with the camera when she had inquired about a specific button; The camera had been working fine this morning and the month before she had gotten it from her brother-in-law who had kept it in great condition, for what it was, for a couple years. The employee had said he would not take responsibility for the breaking of the camera. He had also said the camera was cheap. It should not had mattered how much the camera was worth, even if it was a starter camera, do not let these people come in contact with your equipment.

I just loved how they helped me out picking a camera and showing me the difference between cameras. I get my negatives back from developing which many places wouldnt offer. Love this place. Lots of good, knowledgeable people who are willing to help you with anything you may need. The Film developers are also top notch, Ive never had a photo come back bad, they always get me good scans. Miles above any drug-store film processing, they actually care about how your photos come out. So happy to have these guys near me, and Ill be returning several times in the future.

Great local camera shop that sells and buys vintage and modern camera equipment. They also develop film and digital images! The shop keeper was helpful in telling me about the services. They sadly do not offer rentals but he recommended a local place that I could go to for rentals which was very helpful. I will definitely come here for future trade-ins or new equipment!

This place is a joke. I called Saturday ask about my camera I shipped to them to have fixed. They said they would call back in 30 minutes . needless to say I never received a call. I have a phone number they can contact me with, never received a phone call about my camera while they were looking at it nothing. I call today literally hear they guy talking to another person in the room while talking on the phone with me, we already sent it back. I asked the problem his one word answer, electrical. I do not know what kind of garbage that is, but if you want a camera fixed, more specifically a type of camera that uses electrical parts, find somewhere else to take your business, because this place is not it. To say this, I own many cameras canon7, Nikon F3, Minolta maxxum 9000, Nikon S, Nikon EM, canon AE-1 program, to name a few.

I received a call on Saturday saying my order was ready. I arrived Monday an hour after opening and my order was wrong. They said they would correct the error in 15-20 min. After 20 min I asked them to ck in my order. Said Monday s are a slow start and they had to change the paper and it would take an additional 15 min or so. I needed these before I could take them out of town. NOT ACCEPTABLE. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE

I ve been going here for over a year for camera repairs and film developing. The people here know their information extremely well and are helpful/down to earth. Film development is fairly priced and a fast process (1-2 days). I recently bought an SLR film camera here and the process was smooth as they were able to help me find what suits me best. Ended up purchasing the Canon A-1, which I love.
