I recently visited Lakewood Brewing Company for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and beers. However, my experience was marred by an unexpected billing issue. I ordered 6 beer flights, totaling $24 plus tax, which should have rounded up to approximately $26. Unfortunately, my bank statement showed a charge of $31 a surprising 20% increase. What troubled me was the payment process. After tapping my phone to pay, the staff didnt present the monitor for signature or tip confirmation. I was assured my transaction was complete. It appears an excessive tip was added manually without my consent. I would have gladly tipped for the excellent service, but the lack of transparency has made this feel like an unethical transaction. *Rating:* 4/5 stars for the brewery experience, but 1/5 stars for billing practices.

Although food is only offered after lunch hours, it s perfect timing for their Happy Hours during the week, and a chance to enjoy what they re really known for; amazing staff, and delicious brews on tap, or by the can. Not a beer drinker? That s okay, they ve got you covered, with a great list of wines and bubblies, by the glass or bottle! For those seeking a more chill experience, the loft area has been converted into The Lion s Den, an oasis for private membership holders; which are available for incredible pricing to a limited number. They do close a little earlier than some other spots in town, so plan accordingly! Summing up! It doesn t matter If you re a bar, lounge or patio person, if it s a date night, or you re hanging with family and friends; I m sure you ll have an amazing time at Lakewood Brewery, and may even catch me there! Great vibes and, of course, great brews. Visiting from the Pacific Northwest and celebrating a birthday at LBC. Best place to cheers The ambiance was super chill and the staff are very courteous and friendly. The food is delicious and arrived hot & fresh. Really good craft beer bar. The inside bar is very nice and has a fun vibe. Theres a huge patio area out back for when the weather is nice. The temptress stout line is their best along with lions share and barrel aged beers.

The beer was very good and the service was great. Even the live music was very good! Knocking it a full star though because they allow kids in there... Loud, screaming ones. Took what was a nice afternoon out and ruined it because someone bought their kids to a brewery and the staff said nothing as they screamed and ran around.

A great spot for a Wedding, Cassie our contact did an amazing job of having everything ready for the wedding partys set up. Kind and very accommodating. Joey the Manager was exceptional as well. I highly recommend having your outdoor wedding at the Lakewood Brewery. Pros, Cassie & Staff, Open Space, Parking was easy, Private area upstairs for everyone to get ready, Stage for the band and a great turf area for everyone to lounge. Recommendations, test the officiants microphone before hand, when the fans are blowing it is hard to hear the actually ceremony. Go get married or have a party here!

Went to the event they were throwing and it was a nice quaint spot. I was able to enjoy a temptress nitro which was awesome but unfortunately had to leave soon after as they stopped serving food and the kiddo was hungry. Thankfully, we have downtown Garland with the king brewery Intrinsic and Fortunate Son for the little one to still get the pizza she wanted. Not worth changing up my go-to brewery as it has the capacity to serve food even with a heightened event need, like the art event I went to recently.

A brewery that has aged and evolved very well. Temptress was my first love. But they ve been able to add more versions which has been nice. I really like that they have a small kids playground in their biergarten. I like that they have dart boards and shuffleboard. They have a few big TVs inside. Service is good. Overall a very good experience.

I was there with couple of family members and really enjoyed the drinks. So many varieties of awesome tasting beers and great staff to serve as well. Food seems more expensive for the quantity given. I ordered nachos and tasted good but cost is high for the quantity given. So make your own choice on the food . They also have beers to take home and prices are reasonable. I will visit again for the beer.

I m writing this review as I sit at another brewery, enjoying a 4 beer flight for $12. I was a first time visitor to Lakewood, and I usually opt for flights the first time I go to a new brewery to hone in on what I really like. Then I can buy a full size draft or two of what I really enjoyed for subsequent rounds. Bought a flight to start, plus a pretzel (I d heard they were good but it was dry and lacked flavor without the addition of the mustard). Later added a full size draft of my fave beer from the flight. Went to pay my tab, and gave my last name. They apparently had two people there with my last name so I told them my first name. Received the bill, and it was $45!!! I asked for an itemized receipt, thinking something from the other Carter party had mistakenly been put on my tab. Nope! It was just that their 6 beer flight is $27!!!! Twenty. Seven. Dollars. Total rip off. They got a second star because I enjoyed the beer until learning each sip was costing me a dollar.

We rented out the Founders Taproom for our rehearsal dinner and it was a huge success! The team at Lakewood was easy to work with, answered all of our questions along the way, and gave us the best service during our event. Good people, good food, great beer! I went to Lakewood some years ago for my birthday in the beer garden and had a great time. Im hoping to do the same this year as all the drinks are great, the bar staff is friendly and gives great suggestions depending on your taste in beers. The only reason Im giving them 4/5 is because their event coordinator (believe her name is Tomi) is immensely difficult to get a hold of. I was told by the bar staff to contact her if I wanted to try reserving 2 or 3 tables in the beer garden. I tried calling on Monday and left her a message, giving her details of about how many people I expect and how many tables I would like to try to reserve on my birthday. I didnt receive a callback the next morning so late in the afternoon I tried calling again with still no luck. Guess Ill just have to hope my friends and I can grab some tables in the beer garden the day we go.

Great brewery vibe but perhaps because we got there an hour before closing time the service was not friendly and lacking. We understand walking up to the bar and ordering, but standing there for a few minutes with no one around was a bit awkward. The pepperoni flat bread was delicious perhaps overpriced for 15 dollars but we had seconds. The beer was great although the stouts were on the sweeter side for our taste.

I recently hosted an event here at the outdoor pavilion. About 100 guest (adults and kids). Tommie (event coordinator) was easy to work with. Jack and the rest of the staff were excellent. Event planning was casual and laid back. Beer was excellent and I like that they allowed outside catering. Everything came together and we had an excellent time. Would recommend their event hosting capabilities for anyone out there considering. Thanks again to Lakewood Brewing team!

Give this 4 stars because we found lipstick on our glasses twoce. Both times they made it right by giving us a free beer or taking it off our tab, but overall that s pretty disgusting. The manager was super nice and I did see he had a huddle up with the staff to talk about the cleaning policies. The beer was great though; I just don t think you should have to investigate your glass every time. We will definitely be back since the manager took such steps with his team to assure us it won t happen again.

Growing up in Garland and becoming a huge beer advocate in these last 10 years, I was extremely excited when a brewery finally opened up in my hometown -- it was one of the first when I wrote my original review, now as Im sure you all know, theres tons more all over the place. First time I came in, I asked about merch that mentioned Garland, and I was told that the owner only came to Garland because it was cheaper than Lakewood, and they had no reason to be proud about the Garland aspect at all, hence no merch with the word Garland on it. Oh well, I choose to get over it and move on. Since the beginning, I have returned several times because they just plain nailed it with their Temptress imperial porter series. I have enjoyed an IPA or two, as well as a couple saisons, but its that imperial porter and all its derivatives that keeps me coming back. It must be said, however, that it does feel like they dont quite seem to go as big as they could in terms of variety, but hey make beer that pays the bills, I get it. I have updated my review from 2 stars to 4 stars since the first iteration many years back. As time has passed, they have definitely come back down to earth and are often doing community events. They worked hard thru the pandemic, too, so mad respect there. It does still feel like the beertenders sometimes arent quite knowledgeable about the beer itself, but this is a mixed bag. In my opinon it does continue to feel a little more commercial than cozy, and to keep a point from my original review: those who are looking for a more genuine experience, come in and try the Temptress, but aftwards go check out some of the many more small guys nearby. Maybe one day theyll get that 5th star out of me, but for now the most I can do is up my rating from 2 to 4. With the lack of variety/updating of their lineup, plus that whole commercial vs cozy factor, to my standards it still misses the mark. Not to mention I admittedly still have trouble letting go of the fact that they still dont seem Garland proud one bit.. since my first visit Ive been able to purchase tons of merch with the word Garland on it from other local breweries, but never found something from Lakewood. And I check every time I go, and will continue to do so with the hope that this will change. Cheers, friends.

The outdoor seating is covered, they have fans with misters that keeps you cool and there was plenty of seating inside and out. They have bar games and a really great menu. The brisket sandwich was good and the siracha slaw was good and I usually hate coleslaw. Also live music was nice great family friendly and dog friendly atmosphere!

Cool place! Literally, the A/C system works great in here. My first time here, I was just out riding my motorcycle and decided to find out where this place is. At 1:40pm on a Saturday its a pretty laid back atmosphere. The Taproom has a long bar, several tables, a couple of booths, and a giant screen TV. A Thai food truck is here today and everyone is saying the food is good, so Im gonna check it out. The beer garden looks very large, I havent been out the yet but, Im gonna check it out when I go to the food truck. Of course the beer is great here. Since Im on my motorcycle, I ordered a Bandit American Lager with only a 4.4% ABV content. It is light gold in color with a mild nose, nice flavor on the tongue and a smooth finish. Ill definitely come back here when a Band is playing out at the beer garden. Edit to add: The food truck food is delicious!

I really enjoyed this brewery. Lakewood brewing Company is a MUST in the list for craft beer hoppers. I went there with Jerrel Sustaita, Live Local Artist For the LakeWoof event. He made live paintings of the dogs. The Band, Travelin Jed performed - they were cool. This was my first time to come to Lakewood. I enjoyed their darker colored lager. (Oops, can t remember the name) I didn t have any other beers that day, but I can t wait to get back and try some other craft brews. I did get to try their craft lemonade that is non-alcoholic. That was delicious. This place is family & dog friendly. They had a foosball table as well as some other games available for play. The brewery is big - it s perfect for special occasions and it s got a wonderful beer garden.

Very cool layout, modern furniture, and great beer selection. The staff was very helpful when attempting to select a beverage. They also have sodas and snacks for purchase. There is a lot of space outside of the front area for enjoying your company and having a beer.

Lakewoods taproom has become our local brewery of choice. We love coming here for the delicious barrel aged stouts like the Lion Share VI, BBT, French Quarter Temptress and others. Theyre just close enough to Rowlett and Rockwall for us to get the kids to bed and swing by for a few beers. I wish they would be open for just a little bit longer on the weekends (9 PM is just an hour too early IMO), but we love Lakewood none-the-less.

The front door opening lets your nose know you walked into a serious brewing place. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable, especially Jack and Mac. Its always a delight dropping in and having the latest release. Missed the firepits...

Trying the different iterations of their Temptress is always fun. The salted Caramel is my current favorite. The staff was friendly, and there were several people there at 3pm on a Friday, so clearly its a local favorite. For those who cant chose just 1 beer, with their flights, you have the option to try anywhere from 4-6.

Great clean brewery love the beer selection. Came here with my husband for my bday weekend and I had a wonderful time. The bbq was provided by Smoke & Bone and I was pleasantly surprised by the tenderness of the brisket and ribs. When I m in the area again this will be my spot for great brew and bbq.

Great beer, in an unexpected neighborhood setting. The area around Lakewood Brewery is light industrial, which makes sense for what is essentially a beer factory. But they make the best of the site with seating and fans. The brews really are first rate! Possibly the best thing in Garland!

Lakewood Brewing is a great brewery serving great beers! The Temptress is their most famous and their best. Its probably best stout brewed in the DFW area and has half a dozen variety brewed in house. Of them, the seasonal Mole Temptress is far and beyond the best. Be sure and enjoy as many brews on tap as possible because most are only available at the brewery!
