Saltwater Grill delivers a fantastic dining experience with fresh seafood and a sophisticated yet welcoming atmosphere. The menu offers a wide variety of well-prepared seafood dishes, and their daily specials are always worth trying. The service is attentive, and the staff is knowledgeable about the menu. Its a great spot for a date night or a special occasion

We really appreciate the Sunday happy hour. In fairness the bar was coming down from a rush. Took a bit to get served. Staff was overall attentive but took a bit to warm up. Eggrolls were a bit doughy but good. Orange shrimp were tasty but the batter just fell off. Got some gumbo to go. Still waiting to try it but it smelled great.

Food not consistent. Had ordered the same entree and the serving of veggies was not the same as last visit. Only one little carrot on the mixed vegetables unlike previous visit there was an abundance of all veggies. When I asked the waiter about it he implied that I order more vegetables alacarte..did not fix my order. A manager came by an I told him as well and he did not offer to correct it. Very simple. Make the customer happy and just fix it. I will return again one day because we like the Salmon there. It was a very disappointment from a restaurant of this caliber with very little Class effort to correct something simple. Vegetarian options: Veggies portion was not evenly served. Not consistent.

Dined on a Wednesday night while in town visiting with friends. Once seated we were promptly greeted with water (which btw AWESOME it was so HOT OUT) and coloring pages for our kiddo. Our server, Caprina, explained what happens on Wednesdays, as we did not know. HALF PRICE WINES AND PRIME RIB!! The bottles of sirah and bv sauvignon blanc we ordered were tasty, and we were able to take the rest with us, corked and bagged to go... 3/5 of us got the PR, seasoned and cooked to perfection; the mashed potatoes were fluffy and delish, the broccoli hot and buttery. The 4th person got the filet mignon and added Oscar, WOW. The kiddo got fried chicken tenders and fries, these werent the chicken tenders from a frozen bag, these were hand-cut and breaded and wonderful. Manager Trey and one other lady whose name i did not catch, stopped by to make sure everything was lovely, which it was. We will be back mid-august and cant wait to dine again. Kid-friendliness: coloring pages and crayons provided

Greeted and seated with a wonderful smile, friendly voice, welcoming host/server. Scott suggested the special but I opted for the prime rib. Perfectly cooked, seasoned well, very tender. The fabulous food and attentive service by Scott made for a wonderful experience. A great place for Islanders and tourist alike, but that is expected from a GRG establishment.

The food was top notch and the service was impeccable. For our date night in Galveston, we enjoyed a marinated tuna tower which was a very tasty take on sushi, the seafood fondue which was my favorite bite of the entire vacation!! Highly, highly recommend!!, the oysters Rockefeller were so so yummy and everything was served so quickly! Watching the kitchen stuff do their thing and being in the zone was a wonderful treat! I think our servers name was Judy an older lady who was so kind and very attentive and the only reason I didn t give a five star review across the board was bc we got to witness what I assume was the back of house manager openly laugh at and mumble about how he disliked our waitress while we could very clearly hear and see him. It was VERY unprofessional and left a bad taste in my mouth. With all of that being said I will be back to give this place another try!

Hadnt dined here before but wanted a more upscale seafood restaurant than most of the places in Galveston so we rolled the dice and glad we did. Very enjoyable with just a few hiccups. Greeted promptly, never rushed, well attended to throughout our visit by our very friendly server and enjoyed a fantastic meal. Theyre not just a seafood-only restaurant but when we learned they get their fish, shrimp, oysters, etc. fresh from Katies Seafood just a few blocks away on the harbor, thats all we needed to narrow our choices. Oysters Rockefeller were a nice start to wake up our taste buds. They werent as good as Ive had in New Orleans but well worth getting if youre a fan of these. These were large gulf oysters with that delicious creamy spinach topping, but these also had a yellow cheese in them and were topped with bacon bits which I wasnt expecting. Very good, but not traditional. For the main course, I had pan seared red snapper and requested that with Pontchartrain sauce and it was superb. Next time, however, Ill forego the sauce top as it took away from the snapper, which was perfection on its own. Mashed potatoes were both fluffy & firm at the same time and quite good with their light garlicky hint. Vegetable mix was steamed to perfection and was a perfect accompaniment, especially with the sweetness of the added red bell pepper which you dont often see in a vegetable medley side. But the star of our visit was the pan seared shrimp and jumbo scallops with a creamy risotto with mushrooms. Wow this was good! Nuff said! Creme Brulee finished it all off and was darned good albeit sans raspberry and raspberry puree (ours had a single blackberry atop the dollop of whipped cream). All in all it was very good and i would have given 5 stars BUT the one thing that lost them a star was they do not have a Cognac! Not a one! Not a Hennessey, not a Remy Martin, none. For a fine dining restaurant to not offer a good Cognac to finish off your meal is simply unacceptable for those that enjoy this indulgence. And an FYI to management - brandy is NOT Cognac. So as long as you dont want a Cognac when dining, you cant go wrong here. Well call ahead and ask before making our next reservation.

My husband ordered lobster bisque that tasted like no other lobster bisque I have ever had. It had a very heavy cream base with a med piece of lobster in it. Not a good flavor at all. Their salad was very large leafy romaine with one slice of tomato that you get out of olive oil. No other tomatoes, cucumbers, onion, nothing but what I described above. Then they had a hot French bread with what they said was a whipped butter. I love butter and thought this to be a margarine not butter. The fish was terrible and over cooked. The cream base for the fish was the consistency of gravy that you put on chicken fried steak. Never had anything like it. I would never go there again, walking out with a 135.00 tab. I am a pretty good judge of good food and this wasn t one of them!

We get to our destination 5 minutes early tables are not ready and the atmosphere of the location is loud we can not hear each other speak so we have to be a bit more loud to hear each other better. The food is fabulous. We enjoyed the food we did not get no bread so we waited patiently we did noticed other people had the bread sticks. We didn t get asked for refills until we got our check. We felt we were not welcome in the location and how we were treated we will not be coming back. My wife and I will try again for our 6 year Anniversary some place else

I was disappointed. The food didnt match the price. The Tuna tower and the shrimp and scallops with risotto was delicious! But the crab cake, lobster spring rolls and gumbo, were just ok. The bathrooms were gross and the atmosphere doesnt match the prices of the food. By that, I mean, its not a fine dining establishment. Very mid. I doubt I would eat here again. Delicious but LOUD doesn t even begin to describe it. Forget going and being able to talk at dinner. Lunch usually means less alcohol consumption of guests but the food is usually superb, but not always unfortunately. They obviously like to cater to over the hill yuppie alcoholics who still think they run the world!! LOL!!! Update: We had dinner reservations at 7:45 and yes, there were loud patrons at the bar (shouting at the athletes on TV etc. LOL) but to my utter disappointment, they left after about 15 minutes and the dinner experience was much improved. I understand people want to enjoy themselves but then again so do I...Our waiter was personable, professional and very attentive! The noise & the drunks are just too much. Never again. Plenty of exceptional food elsewhere.

Said we could not sub potatoes for it. The fish and chips was soggy. Truffle fries lacked any sort of truffle oil and were dry. Wolf fish was on the daily special menu. Ordered it and after about 5 mins after our order went in we were told they were out. Asked for steamed rice and server said not sure if we can do that, but we have white rice??? Um ok. Bathrooms need a serious cleaning. Overall meh when you are spending $$$$ expect more.

This was our 1st time here as we saw it was pricey and were hesitant to take our daughter. Im glad we finally ventured out! We started our meal with their bacon wrapped shrimp appetizer. It was served over delicious cheesy corn grits. Shrimp was cooked perfectly & bacon was crispy. I enjoyed their snapper blackened with veggies. I decided to try their side of lobster risotto. I would not call this a risotto as the consistency was too thick. However, it was still tasty and had plenty of lobster. My husband enjoyed their filet & said it was cooked to perfection. He got their crab mac & and cheese, which was crabby, cheesy, goodness! They actually had a kids menu, and our daughter ate from it and enjoyed her meal. We opted for their red velvet cake to go to enjoy later. It was good, but a little dry. Our entrees did require salt & pepper. Our server was very sweet and attentive. As we were leaving, another couple received their pot stickers that looked delicious!Overall, it was a great experience. We definitely want to come back for happy hour & appetizers. The food is devine, fresh, and delicious. Let s talk about why it doesn t get a 5 star review. There is a parking lot beside the restaurant but you have to pay to park. There are a few places in the front of the building but this is very limited. The noise level inside this place is too much. Music playing while guests are talking over the music. Dress is business casual but let s face it half the people in here were dressed in workout/ street clothes. I was hoping this was less of a kid friendly place and more of an adult atmosphere for finer dining. It is not. The space is limited and I suggest you make reservations if you have a party of 4 or more. Great service, the hostess was the best part. The waitress was great too and our food came out quickly. Even still the food was amazing, like truly some of the best food I have had. My husband never finishes his whole steak. He said this one was way too good to reheat later. This is a huge compliment from him! We will be back!

I didn t take any pictures, but we had a perfect meal. There was nothing bad about this food. Our server Nick was amazing. This was the best restaurant we ve been to on the island. I would definitely recommend it. Kid-friendliness: Our server was very good with our grandkids who are eight and seven. We purchase from the kids menu and we also purchase regular meals. Everything was good.

We had a miserable experience last night. There was a problem in the kitchen and the entire dining room was filled with smoke and grease smell. We tried to deal with it for more than 45 minutes. Ultimately, we just left, along with numerous other guests. Our throats were irritated and my husband was struggling with coughing and breathing. Our clothes still smell terrible.

Last night was our last visit. I deleted a 4 year old 1 star review to write this one. Worst waiter Trey, they comped one dinner because he didnt even enter it. We could have had another drink while he was fumbling but he was a no show. We tipped him ZERO, food was good but service trumps it all. Terrible.

We came here on a whim for our anniversary celebration, and I am so glad we did!!! We sat at the bar. Carol was our bartender/server, and she was wonderful. The drinks were great, but....the food was AMAZiNG! I had the Seafood Trio, which was Alaskan Salmon with a lemon butter cream sauce, topped with lump crab meat, over a bed of sautéed spinach and couscous. Oh. My. Goodness.! Sooo good. My husband got the scallops, and he said they were phenomenal as well. We will definitely be going back!

After living in League City for 15 years, last night was our first visit to Saltwater. Will definitely go back but wont get anything with mushy, tasteless (done??) crabcakes. The fried shrimp on both our combos was the best. Wish there was just a fried shrimp meal!! My husbands BBQ shrimp was over cooked so it was tough. However, the fondue will bring us back to try more items & hope we get our super waiter Nick.

Nice place... it is not all snooty like the place across the street that wont let me wear my best board shorts and formal tank top the spend 200 bucks in thier restaurant. The food was amazing. The lady who served us was so great. I dont remember her name, but she was a thin, curly haired lady who was polite, soft-spoken, and went above and beyond to take care of us. We are locals and will be returning for the fillet mignon and Oysters Rockefeller.

Food is excellent. Over the years, I have had a range of their seafood and steaks. All is cooked to perfection. Service is excellent - staff polite and attentive without being up in your face every bite. We always eat here before attending the Saturday evening performance of The Nutcracker Ballet at the Grand Opera House just across the street. We make reservations and let the staff know we need to eat & have check by a certain time and they always get us out in time without rushing.

LOVE THIS RESTAURANT. Grilled fish is best in Galveston. Service is terrific, wait staff very very professional. The General Manager who seats you, is amazing, really knows how to welcome his guests and take care of his guests. My husband spilled a glass of wine at the table and our waiter and the GM were right there to help. I love this restaurant and it is now my go-to favorite. The GM hand delivered a happy birthday card to my guest at the table!! The very best food and the very best team at Saltwater Grill.
