We called beforehand to ask if they had a happy hour special and they said yes, from 5-7 . Arrived at 6:30 and they said no drink specials were available, only a $25 steak night. The music was SO LOUD. We (table of 2) could barely hear each other. The food was clearly frozen and our appetizer came with styrofoam plates The Texas twinkies were good but I don t think we will return.

I really enjoy this small eatery. We ve never been rushed and the food is consistently good. Wide range of menu items, so everyone in your group should find something to please their palate. One note, regarding their Ahi Tuna salad plate. Their Ahi Tuna salad plate is served raw rather than rare as stated in the menu. The owner was kind enough to have the kitchen lightly sear the tuna, which made it perfect for me!

Went to this bar at 11:00 pm on July 2nd to have some drinks. My friend told me had a bad experience here before. I told him let s try it again so I can experience this place for myself. As soon as we walked in we were told they close in 15 min. The bartender took our drink order and she had an attitude. After being there not even 10 minutes she told her girlfriend to lock the door and turned off the open sign. 10 minutes after getting out drink she handed us our tab. Not sure if she was having a bad night or what due to this experience I would never go back to this bar again.

I think I was served by Vicky! She was amazing and switched out the cheese in my cheeseburger from American cheese to pepper jack cheese. I came on a Tuesday so my cheeseburger was only $6.50. I asked for no tomato or pickle and they kindly left anything beyond the meat and cheese off of the burger. The meat wasn t well seasoned and the cheese didn t melt all the way. As I ate some of the burger I was just disappointed. The fries were ok but for $5, you barely get any fries. The service was exceptional! I gave it 2 stars for the service, it would have been 1 star for the meal if it wasn t for the exceptional service! I m not a big burger fan but if you re looking for a really good burger, check out the Jalapeno Cargado burger at BurgerHut in Wylie!

We were looking for something new and happened across Tavern on the Square- this place is unassuming but an absolute gem that Im so glad we found. Everything looked good on the menu so I asked the waitress for recommendations. She was so kind in pointing out options on various parts of the menu (from salads to starters to sandwiches). My husband got a burger and I got the turkey club sandwich, both were excellent as was the follow-up service. The presentation was also, unexpectedly, beautiful. The food isnt the only thing that stood out though. You could tell this was a neighborhood establishment and what I loved most was that we walked in off the street, clearly never having been there before, and everyone talked to us. They were friendly and welcoming and happy to tell us about the history of the bar as well as about some of the regulars. They told us about music bingo, nights with different specials, community involvement, and about the chef who had been with the catering facility 17 years. It had such a welcoming and small-town feel, we will absolutely be back.

What a gem! We stumbled across Tavern on the Square purely by accident. We travel every weekend and always seek a locally owned bar / restaurant to work. This was our 4th stop as we were seeking a non smoking establishment. So happy that we landed here! Leesa was our server and she could not have more gracious, friendly and attentive! The food was spectacular! Highly recommend the Texas Twinkies! Everything we ordered was delicious & presented beautifully .. We will definitely return in our future travels to Dallas!

Hot wings are standard and not bad. Trashcan potato has some tasty cheese sauce but is otherwise kinda blah. Chicken Salad I was surprised had grapes and the chicken salad was excellent but the tomatoes on the sandwich are odd and there was entirely too much iceberg lettuce. Our bartender was supsr nice and made a surprisingly colored but tasty old fashioned. They only have 4 beers on tap which is disappointing. Overall its a couple steps above a dive bar but nothing special.

This place was great. We tried the weekly special which was a monte cristi sandwich, hands down the best one Ive had. The morning side burger was really good but the meat itself needed more seasoning. Texas twinkies were in point.. French fries were the only thing that was underwhelming as they were frozen crinkle cut fries. Our staff went for drinks and we had a great time. As we are relatively young in business and getting to really know each other this atmosphere brought us in a good mood. We loved there rapid service and enjoyed the staff whom where so nice and treated us really awesome. They invited us back and we will. OH and food is good too!!!!

We had brunch here on a Sunday. It wasnt busy at all. The bartender/server was very friendly and knowledgeable. The food did take a while to come out considering it wasnt busy at all, however the food was delicious;everything was fresh and made from scratch. We were also ok with how long the food took because we are living in Covid times and there was probably only one person back in the kitchen. Overall its a good family friendly place to eat and grab a drink
