Worth every penny. Absolutely DIVINE food, and that s honestly underselling it. We ve been on a lobster roll kick all Summer long and have tried everything from local places and food trucks such as Cousin s all the way to the northeastern USA where we enjoyed lobster rolls from Paul s Daughter at Coney Island on the 4th of July. All were good, some were better than others, but for the most part lived up to the hype. Captain Ceviche blows them all away and it s not even close. My girlfriend agrees, we re still talking about it after. We ordered a lobster roll and the grilled lobster mac and cheese sandwich and split them evenly between us. I 100% intended to take a picture of the food, but the first bite was so amazing we devoured the rest extremely quickly and I totally forgot. The guys working the truck were super friendly and pleasant to talk to, the weather was warm but not too hot, and the food was OUTSTANDING. 10/10 experience and the first time I ve ever walked away from a lobster roll that felt like it was worth the price. Captain Ceviche is a MUST try and I m looking forward to sending more people their way, these guys are on to something special.

I do not usually write reviews, however, this place deserves it. A friend and I came down here for the weekend and NEEDED a lobster roll and found this place on Google. Don t walk, run. The lobster rolls here may literally stop time for you while you eat it, the lobster is so fresh and flavorful, and the spicy mayo is the perfect touch. The service was amazing as well.

Guys were really nice. It was our first time trying Captain Ceviche and they took care of us and helped us with our first order here. We tried the Shrimp and the fish ceviche s. Bothe were really flavorful and were quite filling. We ll be back, makes a great beach food.

Finally made my way to galveston for vacation and had to try them. Had them in Houston and had to get my fix here. Got the hot lobster roll and the shrimp ceviche. Hands the best I ve had anywhere in Galveston. Not to mention they ran it to my car while it was raining! Great food great service ! Recommend 100/100

The picture below is not from Captain Ceviche. It s what a mixto ceviche should somewhat look like. I had high hopes for this truck. If I was the type to return food and ask for a refund, I would have, I don t like leaving bad reviews either but this place is so terrible and super expensive I had to. Shame on you Cap, I grew up in a restaurant, operators know exactly what they re serving, this was horrible. As you can see by some of the other review pictures, which I wish I would ve looked at before I went, the ceviche here has incredible amounts of diced tomato!, soo much and minimal tiny bits of fish and especially minimal if any octopus in the mixto ceviche, for the most part there was no octopus, but that s why they put so much diced tomato. You can tell by the dark oxidation of the red onion in ceviche, this was not fresh. The seafood should be the star of the show, not diced tomatoes and Clamato and lime. I don t know what was bad in the crab ceviche, but something was expired, one bite and I tossed it, my stomach still feels upset 2 days later. My girl had lobster tacos, they were OK, lobster was a bit tough and staff needs to learn how to soften a corn tortilla (try agua). Aquachiles were ok but after the mixto diced tomato expired ceviche disappointment I didn t wanna risk continuing to eat. If the owners want a good example of ceviche and seafood check out Mariscos Chelis in Wichita, Kansas. I ll post a picture of a beautiful mixto ceviche I had there last week, note the nice size pieces of seafood. Customer service was good though, Sam was nice but deceptive, in denial or just doesn t know good seafood. Also, this is one of those places where they don t have many items from their menu, i.e., salads, agua frescas, red drum ceviche. It s not locally run, staff drives down from Pasadena. Lobster grilled cheese on menu :/ should ve been a big red flag too shame on me also. This place is no razita mariscos joint.

I am not a big online review writer but I have to share this! The lobster roll is AMAZING. Im from Connecticut, so I know what a good lobster roll tastes like. Also pizza, but thats another story. This lobster roll is MASSIVE chunks of warm, delicious claw and tail meat. MASSIVE. Just the right amount of drawn butter. The spicy/smoky mayo is PHENOMENAL, and adds a distinct but subtle regional twist to a New England classic. Thats how non-regional regional food should be done! The bun was toasted perfectly and served as the ideal vessel to deliver the lobster to my watering mouth. Unlike a Philly cheesesteak, the roll should not have a starring role here. It should be firmly in the background, supporting and enhancing the starring lobster, which in this case, it does! The service is kind, courteous, and prompt. Just a cool dude slinging seafood. 3/5 Atmosphere....its in the Chevron parking lot on the corner of Stewart and 61st. Take your treat to the beach! WILL BE BACK TIME AND TIME AGAIN!!!

heres my review. i purposely came here after reading reviews. i was totally in the mood for ceviche. the place promptly opened which was nice. i accidentally left a tip for an already expensive tocket and they dont take ur food to the car. the lobster roll was soo good but a little on the expensive side. the mix ceviche was a 3/10. first i asked for the spice to be held on the side and it wasn t and it was warm. some of the ingredients tasted old. it too was expensive BUT it is right bt the island so i do consider the price justified. the portions were small. the michelada was nice. would i come again . I was surprised to see the poorer reviews! We had the lobster grilled cheese, shrimp ceviche and the shrimp cocktail. We LOVED the lobster grilled cheese and really enjoyed the ceviche which had a nice spice to it. Changes must have been made to the recipe because we thought it was very flavorful! The service was also wonderful, I will say it was a tad pricey, but we would come back just for the lobster grilled cheese.

The lobster in not fresh like they proclaim. It not fresh. Its frozen.and its frome Canada..its only crusher claw and nuckle meat.. no tail meat...it took me five visits to figure all this out..I patronized them five times. WOW. First time trying and the service was great and the food was delicious and fresh. Ordered the lobster roll and I felt like the amount of lobster was generous for the price I paid - They also have discounts available for students, locals, and others. I did my little happy dance and my boyfriend made grunts of approval while eating it. We will definitely be back to try the other items on the menu. Absolutely delicious! I got the lobster roll with an agua de sandia. The lobster roll was so tasty, warm, and perfectly toasted. Best lobster roll on the island for sure. Sadly, this was the worst lobster roll and ceviche Ive ever had. I think they should stop selling them until they can improve! I believe the owners should dine at Pappasitos or Pappas! Wanted to try a new place and this one exceeded expectations! I got a bowl of the mahi ceviche and the watermelon agua fresca. The ceviche was a good portion and super flavorful. The drink was refreshing. The staff also seemed really nice, and like they enjoyed what they were doing, which makes a big difference.
