The best squid and prawns we have had in the USA in three years. The snapper grille is very good. We are Spanish and we know about this topic. Excellent attention from Luis (Guatemala) March 2923, we repeat the visit and menu, same attention from Luis. Everything excellent. We will return. September 2024. We repeat. We still like it a lot. Luiss attention as always excellent.

This was my first time here and honestly for the atmosphere and the price, we started to leave. It was a little dark and cold for a Sunday afternoon lunch on the island. Prices were a bit high for what seemed to be a quite casual restaurant. That said, we re so glad we stayed. It was lunch, so we just had the catfish poboy and the Philly cheesesteak. Perfect! Even the fries and slaw were great. Our appetizer was fried mushrooms. My husband said they re the best he s ever had. Looking forward to returning for full meals rather than just lunch. Well done!

I truly love their food. Yet this was prob my last time visiting, my drinks, appetizers (fried calamari and gumbo) were fresh, tasty and pretty quickly served. However, after waiting about 20 minutes for our main dishes our server comes to tell us there was an error in the system and the food was not prepared yet. They were just about to fix our plates. What a disappointment! I was so enthusiastic about eating and knowing that my appetite dropped to the floor. The server apologized and offered a free appetizer. I just asked for my food to go, I cross my fingers and hopefully it s well done once I eat it at home.

I had seen this place a few times when visiting Galveston and it had piqued my interest. When I was in town last week a local highly recommended it, so our group went there for lunch. I got the Gyro sandwich with fries, we had a crab cake, and a few other things on the menu. Everything was soooo good. The gyro meat was super tender and the pita was soft and warm. The crab cake was so fresh tasting and had great flavor. I definitely want to go back to try more things.

Wife and I are visiting, based off of Reddit we decided to try the Cajun Greek and came out quite disappointed. Service was lackluster, they refilled my wifes soda once and never my water. We saw our waiter four times through the course of the meal. The boudin poboy was actually enjoyable, but she got the three stuffed crabs and the seafood stuffing was mostly bread. Quite a disappointment.

Updated gosh disappointed to say the least . I can understand raising prices these days . I can t understand lowering the quality of the food . Look at photo . Fried oysters . 39.99 . No sides at all .. over cooked , greasy as heck .. My husband put some of his fries on the plate so you can see the grease . THEY should not have let this come out of the kitchen like this . Obviously need to change the grease .. Please uphold the quality when you raise the prices .. 39.99 for this is just ridiculous .. many restaurants in Galveston serve nice fat oysters for around 25.00 -27.00 Been here many many times . Mostly get the crawfish and boiled crabs . Both are really good . The crab cake is one of the best crab cakes I face ever had. You actually see the large chunks of crab in it . The filler is minimal We sit at the bar most of the time and the service is excellent . The Greek salad is huge . I usually add grilled chicken . The chicken is served on top and hot . If you don t like hot somewhat mushy lettuce then opt for the chicken to be served on the side. Lollipops lamb chops are excellent . No gf options other salads and grilled fish / chicken . Nice casual family restaurant

Will not recommend this place. Local BOI I understand stand prices are up everywhere. $29.99 for Flounder dinner included 1 fillet on bed of rice, 4 small stalks asparagus with 2 mini hush puppies. We had to order a side salad (not fresh) $8.99 If we had gone to Salt Grass in Galveston as we have before, we would have gotten a grilled Red snapper 1 1/2 fillet, salad, side & all the bread we wanted for $24.99. DO THE MATH .

My family and I ate here on our yesterday and it was awful! I would give zero stars if I could. They told us they were out of crab due to the weather being bad a while before we ate there. Then seconds later we see the table behind us have a plate with crab on it. When we brought it up they made up an excuse about how they can only weigh it if you get the soup. We got the seafood platter and the shrimp were rubbery and the stuffed crab was soggy. The kids chicken fingers were pink and not cooked all the way. This place is disgustingly and then when it s time to pay, they bring out a card reader and hold it for you which is fine except you have to leave their tip right in front of their face. I did not like that. I would like the option to tip how I feel the waiter deserves without them watching me.

This is a good restaurant with genuinely good food and nice staff However, I honestly feel bad about some servers as how little courtesy some customers have shown. Now I have never worked as a server but I know that it s not their fault if the pricing on some items is too high and it s really unwise of people bringing rude attitudes to them and telling them how to run business. If you think their job is easy then go try to serve different types of customers while having to run all day and communicate with different levels of staffs to make sure things are right just to be paid 2 dollars an hour yet having to pay out their tip share. I was sat next to a table where people loudly shouted at the manager telling them how to cook a fish and grew upset then left really bad reviews for the spite of it. I know it s Galveston a tourism town but this is America and anyone who works hard shouldn t deserve disrespect like this.

The place closes super early, 9 pm. A friend and I arrived at 8 pm. Upon arrival, the greeter said it will be a 45 minute wait. I said but you close at 9?! She said yes we do and its a 45 min wait if you want to wait! I could see the dining room with the majority of the tables empty and i said but the place is empty basically, she repeated its 45 unless you want to sit at the bar then theres no wait. I said but theres no space at the bar! The person who sits the people overheard and asked her, what are you saying theres tables available. He took us to a table. The waiter that attended us was so kind and had excellent customer service skills. The food took sometime to arrive. We had the gumbo, which i dont recommend. It tasted like chili with 4 shrimps on top. No veggies, flavor or anything. Now the boudin balls are delish! The crawfish we orders were very bland and no Cajun flavor at all but they were better than the gumbo the boiled shrimp were bland too even though we asked for extra spicy on the crawfish and shrimp. 1 good thing, to my surprise, they had Pacifico beer. The presentation of the dishes were outstanding they just need to work on the seasoning. But again the waiting staff was awesome, which helped the experience be pleasant.

And they did and was one of the best meals I have had in a long time. Myra was so great and very knowledgeable about the menu. GREAT all around. I will be going back.

It s really not an exaggeration to give this place full stars review, we had amazing food and excellent service. And most importantly, they offer options of making the seafood grilled, blackened or fried, which if you know a thing or two, indicates that fact that their food is really not frozen or premade. The BOI platter made our most important memory of Galveston, they gave us extra corn and potatoes with our big platter, and the crab bisque is the best I had on this island!! I feel bad for our waiter though because we spent too much time asking questions but he was very patient and polite to us and I just hope his other customers could be as patient as well. You can simply park by the street. It s awesome that they name some dishes by the names of customers and the fact that they have a super worthy lunch menu is really a cherry on top. I have always been supportive of local family business and I have to say Cajun Greek is a gem, highly recommend. Vegetarian options: They have plenty of options with good seasonings on veggie burger and veggie gyros Parking: The whole street is very convenient Kid-friendliness: They have a lot for kids and even provide options as in making kids meal grilled, blackened or fried, a whole pepperoni/cheese/veggie pizza with French fries for no more than 12$! Wheelchair accessibility: The chairs are all family style, my grandma was sitting on her wheelchair and had a great time

Nothing pains me more than writing a negative review about a place that I had such high hopes for. From the second we arrived, we should have gotten into our car and left. The stench coming from the building was worst than any sewer smell that Ive ever been around. We quickly walked in and I will say that we were greeted by a very nice hostess. After being sat, our server took our drink order, and acted as if we were a nuisance for even being there. We werent going to let her poor attitude ruin our night. When she came back she said, Have you made up your mind? We said, yes, and thats when she informed us that we would have to leave because her manager said that they were not allowed to take any more orders due to the fact that both of their bathrooms were out of order. (Hence the sewer smell) We said, okay and were about to leave when she said that she just needed to ring up the one drink that we had, $5.19 for one fountain Dr Pepper. Lets forget that even with inflation, five dollars is ridiculous for a fountain beverage in any restaurant. But, this drink was almost untouched, my wife had taken one sip before we were told that we would have to leave. I asked to speak to the manager, our server left and returned later stating that the manager said that we didnt have to leave after all, but we would not be allowed to go to the restrooms, because they were still both out of order. At this time we counted three other parties being seated with new menus. I told the server that this was not going to be acceptable and again asked to speak to the manager. The server returned and said the manager said that we were free to go. Never once coming to the table. My only regret is that I didnt call the health department for their blatant disregard to public safety. If someone is willing to continue serving food knowing that they are in such a violation, I couldnt imagine what other violations are going on in the back of the house. The Cajun Greek is one restaurant that I plan to never return to, and Ill be sure to warn anyone that I care about to never eat there as well.

They can t even cook a burger right. If you can t the easiest item on the menu, how can you cook anything else correctly, much less a seafood option. I asked for it medium well and it came out waaaay overdone. No moisture left in the patty and burnt on both sides. Told the waiter AND the manager and they both just looked at me. I finally just decided to eat it since they could care less, and I was still going to be charged for it apparently which I was.

My husband had crawfish that he thoroughly enjoyed. I had the lamb chops, which were perfect! Tender, juicy, and simply, melt in your mouth delicious. We couldnt have asked for a better waiter. The restaurant has a casual atmosphere with exquisite cuisine. I cant wait to dine there again on my next Galveston visit.

This one plate was $97.00! 3 blue crab (overcooked), 6 shrimp (overcooked), and a 1 pound super bony fish, the single corn on the cob cut in 3 pieces cost an additional $4.99. Mind blown!! Won t return. Was sooo looking forward to it, as we had seen it on a YouTube video where the platters looked much more enticing and full, but was a big disappointment for the whole family. We had to go for pizza afterwards! Also, super sad/depressing country songs playing loudly on the radio. Not the vibe you re going for when you come to vacation at the beach. Throw some Buffet on at least, yall.

If I could, I would give them negative 5 stars...from the service to the food. Even the waitress knew how horrible the service was because every time she came to our table (when we asked her to) she apologized. We would have been fine with that if the food made up for it but I have never in my life had such nasty seafood. I literally want to rinse my mouth out with bleach to get rid of the nasty taste of the food. Never again. $120 wasted!

Cajun Greek has often one of the first places we eat at when we visit Galveston for the past ten years. Normally the food is as great as the service. This time we made the mistake of ordering the smoked boudin with gouda. It was tasteless and the texture was off. Two bites was all I could stomach. The gumbo was a little too thick and seemed to lack discernable ingredients like celery, bell pepper and onions--think rice and gravy with shrimp on top. The sauteed spinach was fantastic and my kid really enjoyed their burger and fries. While this experience wasnt the best, wed still eat here again, but wouldnt order the same thing next time. Kid-friendliness: Kids menu has pizza, chicken tenders, etc.

My wife, daughter and I visited here recently while on vacation. After everything we had seen about this place we were so excited but very quickly that was replaced with a high level of disappointment. Now the place itself is cool. Nice atmosphere and nice decor. Service was so/so. The food was severely disappointing. First off the price of the food is outrageous. I know seafood is expensive but holy cow. Their big item the Born on the Island platter is no platter it s just order each item you want and we will add the price up. There is no incentive to order more or order the platter. It is just the cost of each item so for instance if you wanted 2lbs of shrimp that would be $60. Way too high in my opinion. The food it self for the most part was subpar. The shrimp I ordered were brought out in a bowl of red liquid which I presume is the liquid it was cooked in. The liquid had a little flavor. The shrimp had none. The shrimp were not deveined so you were just supposed to eat the trash inside them. The mozzarella sticks were boring and tasted bland. The crab cake was ok. The crab bisque according to my wife was amazing so I guess there is a bright note. The calamari was ok. And the onion rings were mediocre at best. To sum it up, extremely expensive, mediocre at best food, and not reason to splurge on the BOI since it isn t really a platter anyway

After a long time of seeing the pictures I decided to descend up on this location and treat myself and my significant other to a great feast. Ive been craving boiled seafood for a long time and it was time to make good on that promise to myself. I decided to get the crabs crawfish and head on shrimp combo which came with one piece of corn and a potato. Everything tasted amazing the Crawfish could be seasoned a little more and a little differently to the traditions of louisiana, but I enjoy the feast greatly and I will certainly be back. There are many other dishes to try at this location and their desserts as well, but I was much too full to attempt dessert or another meal or entree. The appetizer of calamari was very good as well and I wouldnt have mind another serving of that also.

I would not recommend going here if you ever visit Galveston. Not sure about the name of the restaurant, very misleading on what you will be served. First, the mixed drink was basically a glass of pineapple juice. Second, the shrimp was very fishy--not like the usual taste you experience at other Galveston restaurants. Third, the fried red snapper was undercooked and mushy. Last but not least, it was very expensive for the amount you get. You buy a main dish AND pay an additional fee for your sides. To top it off, we heard other customers complain about their food as well. If you are someone thats been to this place and like it, then to each his own.

Lately I have been ordering the crawfish in every restaurant in Galveston that offers it. This is my first negative review. While the quality of the crawfish was not bad and the crawfish was not overcooked or undercooked, it had no flavor. It tasted like boiled crawfish. When my waitress asked me how I liked it, I told her it had no flavor and asked her if this was the spicy I ordered. She said yes but she also offered more seasoning, which was just chili powder. I was pretty disappointed. I had high hopes and expectations for Cajun Gteek. The potato and corn were also not tasty either. My daughter, who usually will eat several servings, left them on the plate for the first time ever. Im glad I didnt order extra like I usually do. Btw, the reason I didnt order extra corn and potatoes is thar when I inquired about the price for extra corn and potatoes, i was told it was $4.99 for each extra piece. In comparison Hull Huli Hut charges $ 0.50 for each extra piece. I understand this is a pricier restaurant but charging $4.99 for half an ear of corn or 1 small red potato seems excessive. Especially considering the fact that it was just boiled. Normally I like this restaurant for its happy hour. I like their boudin balls, the shrimp, the tatzikii and feta plate. I also had the seafood and fish plates in the past and they were pretty flavorful. I dont understand why they are not adding any seasonings other than chili to the crawfish, corn and potatoes. I paid my bill and gave my usual 20% tip to the waitress because it wasnt her fault that the food didnt taste good but it would have been nice if a manager or somebody had checked on us when I told her the food was flavorless. I didnt want to act like a Karen, so I salted the heck out of it and drowned it in butter and ate it like that but I have crossed Cajun Greek off my list of restaurants I will visit again.

We have made Cajun Greek a routine stop over the years every time we visit the island. Today, sadly, was our last visit here. We were just here last October and the food & prices were great. Now, the prices are absolutely ridiculous. $19 for a po boy, and that does NOT include fries, which are an extra $3. We skipped on our usual fried pickle appetizer and ordered waters to save money. We ended up spending $60 for lunch- and that was just 2 po boys with fries! I could hear customers at tables surrounding us trying to find something reasonably priced on the menu and getting frustrated doing so. Prices are losing you customers.
