It is a great place to relax with plenty of space to enjoy. nice views and there are lots of nearby restaurants. It can get busy on weekends, but overall it s a nice, laid-back spot for a day out

we arrived 1 hour late and our toom had not been cleaned, i mean everything. Totalky disgusting, but it was remedied!The ocean does not smell like the ocean, and I couldnt figure out why until I saw all the oil. Its disgusting as you can see it on the shore and water. No waves and everything is a charge... parking, chairs, umbrellas, and even the place we stayed charged us parking. Never again!!

Galveston Beach was a bit of a letdown. The overall experience didn t quite meet my expectations. However, it does have some good points, like the convenient street parking nearby and the availability of chairs to relax in. While the beach itself wasn t impressive, the practical amenities did make it easier to enjoy a day at the shore.

Its still a dirty beach. But its cheaper than most areas. But I think weve gone there enough in the last 3 years. Life guards tend to forget they can advise you not to go out far, but cannot make you stay waist deep or shallower.

Dont be fooled by the photos of crystal clear and clean water, thats all a lie, the water is dark, dirty and stinks. Also, add that you can find anything, people dont take care of cleanliness, from a glass to a bag to an old wallet. There are no limits to what you can find floating, the only thing the place is good for is fishing.

There are a number of hotels and restaurants within walking distance. An amusement park is nearby. I went on a Sunday afternoon in July and many people were in the area. The beach itself is pretty basic with no faucets to wash your feet, but offers umbrella and chair rentals. Some sections have lifeguards. The water was very warm, which isn t refreshing on a 90 degree day, but is still better than the chilly Atlantic Ocean.

We always have the best time. We come annually. We stay in Jamaica Beach. We love to visit Murdochs and have a Daiquiri. Fish Tales restaurant has the best peel and eat shrimp. Moody Gardens Aquarium has a rainforest with monkeys, plus you can see all the Jellyfish that are in the ocean with us. 0.0 lol.

Charles Barkley is right. Not only that but the mosquitoes are viscous and do bite in high winds. Ive never experienced anything like it. And Ive spent many months in galveston working so this isnt a transient tourist review. The best beaches are Panama City Florida to Gulf Shores.

We went to sunny beach and the shell portion. If you keep driving youll see less people in the little pockets. You dont necessarily need to pay to park. There are small sections where you can park for free on the other side. Otherwise if you drive in you can park close. BUT HAVE A SHOVEL. We definetly got stuck once due to the sand. Have your sand shoes handy because that sand can be hot. Make sure to get an auger for your umbrella. Go to Walmart. Not academy. They wont have it. Watch out for the hermit crabs!

This has got to be my favorite Texas beach by far. Very clean, very safe and layed back vibe I thoroughly enjoyed. The restaurants had great food and service. The Pleasure Pier had lots of fun and big rides. The Strand was great for shopping. The beach was my favorite point of interest. Our family enjoyed every single day. Tops!
