Hosted our wedding at the Lasker Inn this past weekend. AMAZING venue with an even more amazing coordinator and staff. Richard took any stress away with his amazing planning. The venue truly does do it all! Coordinated vendors who worked together and were all amazing. DJ Joseph Fusilier and Cakes by Jula and La Moda Salon were all amazing. The rooms were spacious and beautiful- plenty of space for our 14 person bridal party. Richard did the florals and set up the whole house with our photos and colors. Breakfast in the morning was amazing- in house chef is amazing and super accommodating to food allergies - shout out to Logan! Beautiful house super close to everything there is to do, walking distance to beach, and again an AMAZING owner. Cannot recommend the Lasker Inn enough for your big day!

The Lasker Inn was the perfect weekend getaway. This charming bed and breakfast offered a nice blend of luxury and hominess. The interior was eye candy and the staff was phenomenal! Richard is the host with the most; he makes sure you have everything you need. I was very impressed with the breakfast spread as the chef came out to let us know what he prepared and it was delicious! The location is perfect too as its not in a busy area, yet its still close enough to walk to the beach. I cant say much more but to experience it yourself!

If you want to have the perfect wedding, have it at the Lasker with Richard in charge. I kept having people ask me Are you stressed about the wedding? and I could easily and honestly answer No because Richard makes the process as simple for brides as it is possible to make it. Once you choose the Lasker as your venue, Richard has the cake, venue, meals, DJ, and flowers already taken care of and a list of vendors you can use for anything else. And they are all exceptional. Furthermore, the venue makes it possible that you and your family/wedding party can stay on site, which is a wonderful perk. We even had a last minute rain storm on the day of the wedding, and Richard seamlessly transitioned the ceremony from outdoor to indoor. Rather than a major stressor, it turned into a beautiful part of the day as we got married in the chapel with the sound of thunder and the gentle tapping of rain in the background. I got to enjoy the most beautiful day marrying the love of my life surrounded by my favorite people at the most gorgeous venue and I truly got to enjoy with no stress because of Richard and the Lasker. I will forever be grateful. Shoutout to Cakes by Jula, Joseph Fusilier, and Jessica Pledger for our cake, music, and photography. They were all phenomenal.

The Lasker Inn and Richard Conner are the absolute BEST! Our daughters wedding was a flawless, seamless continuum of perfection thanks to Richard and his amazing staff. What Richard does is truly poetry in motion! Richard orchestrated the rehearsal dinner in a way that validated everyone. On the wedding day, a storm blew in just before the wedding was to begin, and Richard transitioned quickly and perfectly to an indoor event. Richard removed all of the stress and provided peace to all of us because we knew that he would handle everything perfectly - and he did! From the venue to the flowers to the meal, there is nothing we would change. This wedding weekend will always be remembered as perfection! Thank you, Richard, for making this special time so memorable for all of us. We love you! 3 years ago . . . The Lasker Inn is perfect in every way!!! Richard is the consummate host, making sure that every tiny detail is handled to perfection. What a nice guy! The historic property was beyond my imagination and exceeded the photos in every way. From the gorgeous suite and windows to the quiet and peaceful surroundings, this charming Bed & Breakfast stole my heart. Chef Logan created unique and delicious gourmet breakfasts every morning that kept us full until dinner. This birthday celebration is one that I will never forget. My husband and I cant wait to find a reason to return. If there were more than 5 stars to award, The Lasker Inn would receive them.

We came back for another stay at the Lasker Inn because we had such a wonderful trip the first time. There is a reason why the Lasker Inn has won so many awards. It s an exceptional and magical place that captures the history, charm, and hospitality in Galveston all in one place. 3 years had gone by since our first visit and Lasker Inn is still as amazing as our first visit. The rooms are spacious and clean. The level of hospitality is mind blowing. Richard thinks of every detail from amenities to snacks to robes. He doesn t miss a beat. There are so many thoughtful touches in the room and throughout the inn. My husband particularly enjoyed the playing the piano in the parlor. It was a wonderful way to unwind after exploring Galveston. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Lasker Inn s chef, Logan, whipped up an impressive spread of dishes. There was a great balance of savory and sweet items to choose from. We felt beyond pampered! The location of Lasker Inn is fantastic too. It s centrally located and a convenient base to explore Galveston. I highly recommend staying at the Lasker Inn. We can t wait to go back!

My husband and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary with a vow renewal and cocktail party at the Lasker Inn. From the beginning Richard was fabulous. He took time to show us the venue, answer our questions, and get to know us a little along the way. Our second visit to the Lasker was to re-visit the rooms and imagine how our event might work in the space. (I was a high-ish maintenance client) I loved that they took care of so much and were just ab out as all-inclusive as you can get. Everything from the food and bartender to the cake, DJ, officiant, you name it. The more comfortable I grew with the event (it got larger and more extravagant the whole time) the happier we were that Richard was there to show us the ropes and make sure we didnt fall over ourselves (literally and figuratively). On the day of the event the beautiful setting did not disappoint. The gardens were lovely for the outside vow renewal and the extravagant venue was perfect for our cocktail party. We even had full wardrobe changes between ceremony and party, and Richard helped to orchestrate it all! We had a wonderful day, at a beautiful estate, under the watchful eye of the wonderful Lasker event planner, Richard Connor.

If I could give 10 stars I could. As soon as we walked in to The Lasker we knew it was the place we was going to get married! It was all inclusive, which was a BIG DEAL to us. I am good with a vision- but need assistance with execution. I gave Richard my colors, the food we wanted, some signature drinks, and boom we had a wedding. Richard made the planning process seamless and him and his wonderful team made our day perfect! The food was amazing, the staff made sure all our guests were taken care of, and Richard ensure that every piece of the puzzle was perfectly in place. Biggest win for us is that we were also able to have the rooms added to the package for our bridal party to stay at. This Made it super easy and safe for everyone to stay on site. We also were able to add a rehearsal/welcome dinner the evening prior and send off breakfast on Sunday for guests staying nearby. I know we will be back to the Lasker to celebrate our anniversary if not before!

On a recent trip to Houston we decided to stay in Galveston. That was our first good decision. The 2nd was to book a room at The Lasker Inn. Located in the quiet section of the historical district. This 130 Year old Victorian Home, a survivor of the great storm of 1900, is within walking distance of museums, resturants and mansion tours. The best of our stay, however was the wonderful hospitality of the owner, Richard, his family & staff. An amazing breakfast was prepared every morning by Chef Logan with imaginatively creative offerings. The Lasker is primarilly a wedding venue, but as a B & B all boxes are checked. From the beautiful appointments and furnishings to the unbelievably fragrant jasmine gracing the stairway as you ascend to the front door. There will be no other location considered for a future stay in Galveston, Tx. Absolutely a wonderful 5 star stay.

Years ago, my wife and I developed a routine of a weekend away every other month, as a part of our placing the priority of our relationship over the busyness of life. Living in Clear Lake, we are blessed to be only 30 minutes away from Galveston Island. Checking out the different bed and breakfast options here became a part of our life. When we visited Lasker Inn for the first time, years ago, we threw away the rest of the list. No one else comes close. This is so much like coming home, that we don t even think about staying anywhere else. Richard is always there to help us with our reservations, to greet us, and make us feel welcome while we are here. If you only have one chance to come to Galveston, you owe it to yourself to visit Lasker Inn. If you come here frequently, you would do well to always stay here. You will mot regret it. Logan is also an integral part of your experience here. He does a fabulous job of creating a delicious array of delectable breakfast fried and baked goodies. You won t go hungry. You will always be glad you spent time with the kind staff of Lasker Inn. I highly recommend this as the very best B&B in Galveston, Texas!

I hesitate to write this review. Not because of service, or because of food, but because I think this is probably one of the best kept secrets in Galveston, and I would kind of like it to stay that way. Some people chose to be gluten free, some people have diseases that make gluten a problem, my wife has anaphylactic shock due to an auto immune disease. Some B&Bs include breakfast. This one really doesnt include breakfast, it includes a chef experience. My wife is VERY allergic to gluten, which sucks because before she developed the allergy we used to love eating out, and we would often stay at B&Bs when we were on trips. The problem is a lot of B&Bs include breakfast, but it is premade items, not actually cooked. This B&B has a chef, that has his own restaurant as well. The breakfasts were great. The food was always, hot and fresh, and anything that had gluten, he made a special dish similar for my wife, except gluten free. Honestly between the food, the room, and Richard being a very gracious host, if they served lunch and dinner, we would have never left the property.

This wedding weekend was a dream come true. Our bridal room was huge, the walk in shower was big, and the house were very homey. As soon as we woke up, breakfast was ready and our beds would get made. Richard made my wedding stress free and planned the entire thing. Any input I wanted he used but I didn t have to worry about the big stressors that come with weddings. The rooms were comfortable and being in a home like that for the weekend is something we will never forget. I loved how everyone was able to talk to one another and socialize since we chose to have a big appetizer and stand up meal for the wedding. The originality of the Lasker inn was what I loved about this special place. Gave me vampire diaries feels !!

As the Bride on the wedding weekend of 7/2/22, my entire experience with the Lasker was amazing from the very beginning! The Lasker Inn is the most all-inclusive wedding venue my husband and I found. We searched a lot. The venue is a beautiful historic site perfectly decorated for weddings. Every suite had everything we (bridal party and other wedding guests) needed to get ready. Richard is an amazing wedding planner that clearly has many years of experience. He addressed all of my many pre-wedding questions and made the wedding pass my expectations especially when it came to decor and flowers. On the actual wedding day, Richard and his amazing staff all contributed to the day going perfectly. They helped me with perfecting my dress in all of the photos and someone even helped the men put on their boutonnieres! My photographer also commented on how helpful the staff was. The chef was wonderful too. She came out to explain her breakfast creations. She also took the time out to accommodate my wedding guests dietary restriction on the spot since I forgot to inform her that someone was vegan ahead of time! Richard took control during the wedding. He announced us before dinner, he made flower crowns happen for my flower girl nieces, he made sure everything was on schedule, and of course lined up the send-off event with sparklers. We didn t have to worry about anything. As the last bride said, I really can t think of anything that could ve been more perfect. The icing on the cake was when Richard picked my husband and I up from our cruise port for our honeymoon a week after the big day! He also allowed us to keep our car parked on the Lasker property for the week after the wedding while we were on our cruise. Amazing. THANK YOU SO MUCH RICHARD! I know that the Lasker may not be for everyone but it is pretty close! D and I had the most amazing time and were so grateful for the venue choice we made and that everyone at the Lasker Inn could be a part of our special day.

My understanding is that Lasker Inn does a lot of weddings, so I am not sure how it is as a stand alone B&B, but as a wedding venue and place to stay during the event, it is amazing. We selected it for a few reasons- we had a smaller wedding party - less than 50 people so many large hotels would be too much and too expensive. We wanted something more intimate. The other reason is that Richard Conner also does the wedding planning and runs a tight ship - with every detail looked after. And, for anyone who loves traditional, richly decorated older homes, this is the place. I loved the character and feel of the Inn.. the suites were gorgeous and spacious. By utilizing the B&B suites for our family and friends we were able to spend several meals and days together, perfect for out of town family! I highly recommend this venue - staff, location, offerings all excellent. Overall, a truly positive experience that really felt beautiful and fun..

I attended my brother in laws wedding about a week ago. The wedding itself was nice. HOWEVER, Richard the head of the house was extremely rude. He made me feel unwelcome and as if I was a bother. He played a fake violin when the brides mother gave a speech as well as sighed and fake cried during others. He rushed EVERYTHING. He had a attitude the whole night. He yelled at people multiple times. He could of been more welcoming.

If I could leave no stars I would. Richard the guy running the place is rude. I attended a wedding rehearsal and the wedding a couple of weeks ago . The entire time I felt as if he and his staff were hovering me and my family. Richard was rude and did not make me or my family feel welcomed. Honestly we felt as if we were a bother to him. He told us to make sure the lights are out after the rehearsal dinner. Like if the place is being rented for cheap. He was so concerned about cleaning the ball room after dinner and pretty much ran everyone out. Like if the wedding was going to be inside the next day. He yelled and told the Dj to turn down the music on the first song people were actually dancing to at the wedding. During the speech given by the brides mother he walked in and acting like he was playing the make believe violin, fake cried and rolled his eyes alot. He is inconsiderate of others and rushing the entire wedding. If you have a sparkler send off its not as magical as you think. He rushed to grab the sparklers once the bride and groom walked by. They had one bartender and the line was extremely long to get a drink that we all provided at a stock the bar party. They kept the kegs behind the bar that ended up being pretty full after the wedding was done due to the time limit and long lines.. Honestly felt like Richard didnt care to personally meet the needs of both the bride, the groom or their intermediate families.

Attended my brothers wedding in August this year and I must say it was one of the most beautiful weddings I have ever seen. Everything was gorgeous, the food was amazing and from what my sister in law said all was included and taken care of effortlessly. Just one thing, the owner Richard was kind of rude. He was very impatient when one of the flower girls (my 9 year old daughter) could not be located and yelled Just forget about her rudely. She is a child of course she may get distracted. I was just about to snap when the bride asked me nicely not to. My other family members noticed his attitude and felt unwelcomed. My aunt noticed that while the speeches were going on he kept rolling his eyes and sighing. And he kept yelling at 9:45 that the bar was closed and no one was to have anything to drink, not even water. Right at 10:00pm everyone was escorted out quickly. I understand that there is a time frame but with the amount of money spent his attitude could have been a little more pleasant. Other than that everything was absolutely gorgeous. If you have children attending the wedding, I would recommend using a different venue. ATTITUDE is EVERYTHING.

The service here was hands down the best. What a beautiful home filled with amazing pieces and the gardens surrounding the bed and breakfast were absolutely stunning. Chef Logan made sure that breakfast was definitely something to remember with awesome flavors and textures and variety. Richard, the owner, really went the extra mile to make sure we all felt comfortable and was a bright spot in our stay. He even gave us a ride to our cruise ship so we didnt have to deal with the hassle of a cab. It was a really nice touch that the bathroom was filled with more than just the typical toiletries you would find in a hotel... They made sure to add deodorant, appraisers, bath salt, insect repellent, aloe in case of sunburn, etc. The pricing for this place was such an amazing value and the experience created for us was fantastic.

Words cannot express how much I love this place, the grounds and the amazing staff. My wedding party stayed here and my wedding photos were here and I felt like family the whole time. I was so worried I would be a nervous wreck for my wedding but thanks to this place and the staff I felt relaxed. Every meal was wonderful and the decor is stunning. I cant wait to go back.

To write a positive , good or great review for The Lasker Inn Bed and Breakfast, Galveston, Texas would be insulting to our experience. Only an EXTRAORDINARY review would do it some sort of justice. To name the reasons in their entirety would be a novel, but this is a review of why you should always go out of your way to experience the one and only exceptional places to stay for a lifetime. Out of several B&B s that I called, Richard, of The Lasker Inn, was the only one to return my call promptly to book our one night, surprise get away for my fiancée and I in December of 2015. Richard and I kept in contact during our short trip from Conroe to Galveston,(secretly of course) as he knew I was surprising my soon to be bride with a romantic getaway that she SO much Deserved. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by Linda, whom was also expecting us. Linda showed us around the beautiful, historic Lasker, then up to our room. To my surprise, when we approached our room door, there was a picture of my fiancée and I tied by a golden ribbon on The Grand s door that was taken the day I proposed to her. Richard apparently went out of his way to find me on Facebook and took his time to print and post our picture to our door. My fiancée thought that I had arranged the picture to be hung, but as much as I wanted to take credit, I told her it was Richard. Our room (The Grand) was VERY spacious and furnished with a very comfortable king bed, flat screen TV (hidden in an armoire and playing relaxing music anticipating our arrival) a large walk in closet and two very large ceiling fans. The historic pathway to the wrap around porch is a slide up window the size of a door! (which was apparently used in late 1800 s) The bathroom is very spacious and updated with granite his and her sinks, a large walk in shower, towel warming rack, accompanied with more than enough Ghilcrest & Somes lotions, shampoo s, conditioner s, shaving kit s, make up kit s, bar soaps etc that anyone could ever use in 1 day. Breakfast the next morning was a HUGE shock. As we entered the dining room, we were amazed at the amount of food that was freshly made for us. Accompanied for breakfast was another couple and we were all stuffed as Richard continued to bring out more and more fresh fruits, homemade cinnamon rolls, and and and .there was so much great food that we (and the other couple) couldn t possibly stuff our faces anymore. We felt very guilty about leaving some much great food uneaten at the table. But, at that point, IT WAS NAP TIME!!!! We packed up (after our breakfast nap) and said a sad goodbye to the Lasker Inn. Needless to say, and thanks to Richard, Linda and all of the staff, I headed back to Conroe a hero to my fiancée. Last but not least our wedding date is in March 2016, and because of our exceptional experience at The Lasker Inn we are now trying to change our wedding day location to The Lasker Inn, even if it means losing our $1,600 deposit to the current resort chosen in Conroe, Texas. If that doesn t speak volumes, then I don t know what does ?????? We will NEVER stay anywhere but The Lasker Inn in Galveston!

Absolutely the best B&B I have ever been to. Richard was an awesome host and took such good care of us. I will return ASAP. Such luxury at a great price. Suggestions for food and activities were spot on. Linda (the owner) was also very friendly.
